There was a lot of issue over whether this was a new entity altogether or the same one...Cartesian theory stuff. That and at sixteen, he's not too familiar with what rights he does and doesn't have, anyway, so a lot of that is unreliable narrator. Hiya, finally deciding to jump in with Tobias, Kami and Terry. Hope it's not too crowded in here?

I have no idea what the quarter is supposed to be. I don't think Gladatoria intended to go that much into detail when she started this thread. Since RP threads move at a much slower pace than real life, I'd say make it whatever quarter you want it to be.

As for the security and safety jokes that seem to be a running gag amongst several of the students... perhaps some specifics need to be set down to address that.

1. JDHS is not a prison and it does not appear to be one. There are no guard towers, huge walls, or a constant armed security officer presence. There are no gun turrets of any kind. JDHS's security system consists of a cutting-edge power suppression system that can kick on at a moment's notice, a fully integrated Level 10 protective force-field system, and a force of highly-trained but discreet security personnel that will only deploy in extreme cases. Teachers and some seniors (Age 18+) with training are allowed to assist with rescue/defense in crisis situations. Detention is handled in a room where the power suppression system is on at all times. The school's medical personnel consists of a Certified Nurse Specialist in Metahuman Physiology and a rotating staff of six psychologists trained to deal with metahuman patients (Two will be on campus at any one time).

1a. JDHS maintains direct encrypted wireless connections to the three nearest TCPD precincts, as well as Bradford Memorial Hospital, the nearest counseling center, HeroNet, and the nearest National Guard depot in the event of something that the school's security and/or medical personnel cannot handle.

2. In the case of students, JDHS will accept any student that is a metahuman and lives in Titan City. Psychological evaluations to determine their mental and emotional state are a required part of enrollment. Any student with uncontrollable abilities will be required to wear full-time non-intrusive power suppression/containment devices to keep their abilities in check. Students with fragile mental/emotional states will be approached by the counseling team and asked to consider counseling sessions. All other students are allowed unfettered access to their abilities.

2a. One of the chief tenets of JDHS is the belief that young metahumans need to learn how to live with and control their abilities as soon as possible, but at a rate that is comfortable to them. It is felt that the best way to attain this goal is for them to be members of an open and accepting environment that is not suppressive or controlling unless absolutely necessary. Classes that teach power control are offered. Principal Ellis recently initiated a program for students who wish to learn to use their abilities for emergency response and/or metahuman combat/arrest and detention.

2b. Any students caught repeatedly using their powers to the detriment of faculty/staff/students/property will be penalized. Depending on the severity of the power abuse, there are several levels of punishment. These levels include verbal warning, parent/guardian contact, detention, suspension, temporary enforced wearing of power-suppression/containment devices, and expulsion as a final resort. If power suppression technology is detrimental to a students health, alternate means of detention will be used.

3. JDHS takes no part in enforced attendance of the school. If the government (be it federal, state, or city) or a police/military organization asks that a student be remanded to JDHS's custody during the school day, that student will be welcome openly and will not be treated like a criminal while on school grounds. If that student wishes to leave the school grounds at any time, the organization or government that handles them will be contacted and a pick-up arranged. If full-time power suppression/containment devices are required for these students, JDHS will provide them. The student will have input into the design and style of the devices.

I understand perfectly that a number of the things that have been said about JDHS being a prison was just sarcasm/teenage drama. Trust me, I'm fluent in Sarcasm. But other posts earlier in the thread seemed to be more serious.

I've also been wanting to write down several details for JDHS for awhile now, so I decided to just lump it all together into a post concerning a number of JDHS standard operating procedures and technology.

I totally understand being a little intimidated by open threads. It's just a matter of picking a time and place, for him. Wanderers has some stop ins and stuff, not sure where every character is but there's quite a few others wandering around Iron Port both good and bad. So, plenty to just wander into, ha. >.<

Anyway... I think there's plenty around to use to introduce such a character. There are some unhinged moments in some of my characters depending on time, and other variables. Oh, and we have talking cats. That's a bonus.

I'm really Tempted to bring in Rotten Luck as the Gym Teacher for the super students. One reason is that he can nearly shrug off any damage done to him. Another... well I think it be fun.

Some more notes about Sebastian and Marionette

-Sebastian would of registered his powers under Marionette's advice very recently, probably like say Saturday before the school week started.
-Marionette only knows part of what happened to Sebastian as Sebastian has a really hard time talking about it.
-Marionette has a brother/brother relationship with Sebastian. He regards him as a equal and usually does not display himself as an authority figure
-The Barons are still hunting him back in Ironport which can be a potential plot point later on in this RP and in the Young Wanderers RP.
-Sebastian has been living with Marionette for only a month. Marionette nursed his malnourished body from his experience on the streets back to health
-Sebastian knows he is dangerous, especially when he lapses into his PTSD or when he gets angry. He usually takes a more passive role to avoid this.
-Sebastian has somewhat of a joker type of personality. An possible ''sad clown'' type of person who uses jokes and talk to ignore his issues.
-Sebastian has no known family alive
-Sebastian's wardrobe were made specifically by Marionette and his technomancer friend. The cloths repair themselves if damaged in any way
-Sebastian has also been diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder in regards to cleanliness and hygiene. The story behind how he got this disorder isn't very pleasant
-Sebastian usually carries no weapons but is capable of using staffs and...certain types of daggers

Sebastian would be kind of a similar idea behind his demeanor. The idea in my head of his personality and some of the significance behind his back story and the potential destructiveness of his powers was from Teen Titans show or the Titans comic book, specifically Beast Boy (his personality) and Raven (the necromancer that Sebastian was an apprentice too will have some similarities to Trigon...but he would of been even more sadistic and disturbing in his actions towards people). I don't want to disturb the lore to much so I will say that Sebastian's parents where indeed Necromancer's themselves but they belonged to a rivaling benevolent Necromancer cult to the Barons, the Barons killed most of these necromancers, erased the records of there existence and took any children to subjugated. The Barons murdered Sebastian's parents right infront of him which started a long line of traumatizing events and is the main reason that he escaped and wanted to be an hero or at very least a vigilante.

You don't NEED to upload their backstory, but you can if you want to. More info on incoming characters is always appreciated by your fellow RPers. Since you're a self-proclaimed forum RP newb, I'll lay down the basic rules for you (digs through old threads to find where he last left the rules):

Hallo, I'm Xselcier, but you can just call me X. I pretty much started the RP around here and these are the rules I set down for that story (with some edits :-D ).

1. No killing/maiming/disabling other people's characters without explicit permission.
2. Do not dominate the story or try to force other players to do things they don't wish to.
3. OOC (Out of Character) posts should be kept out of the RP thread to best allow for immersion and story flow.
4. Other than that, have fun and don't be a d-bag.

Others have added to or expanded on those rules, such as Foradain:

1. My main rule I've been using I adapted from the ground rules described for various shared-world series: Describe what your character does, but what that turns out to do to someone else's character is up to that someone else. Appearance of other people's character through special senses (like Hypatia's "Mage Sight"), for example: If they let me know what they envision their character's aura looks like, then that's what Hypatia Sees. If not, I extrapolate the best I can based on prior description (Talon is an allegedly normal human who uses swords about as well as Goemon Ishikawa XIII, maybe better ^_^, so I felt justified in describing her aura as "disciplined").

2. Next would be to have your characters abilities (offensive, defensive, utility, whatever) as well defined as you can. Where you can't, go with what makes a better story, and use that to help define the character.

3. Finally, some of these stories are being told to establish plot points for the originator's characters. RottenLuck, for instance, seems to be using the Museum Heist thread he started to establish what the deal is with certain orbs that are part of some of his characters' background. So if there's a dispute, I treat him as the GM, with the final say over that story. I shouldn't let my vision of how that story alters what I had planned for Hypatia interfere with his story, unless he thinks it should.

And Summer-Heat:

1. To add my own points, I always go with the rule, "don't dictate their characters' reaction without permission." This extends to planned plots and such, like with RottenLuck's Museum Heist thread. When I realized TeeKay would go crazy and pull something on even the other villains, I sent Rotten a message with the plan to get permission to potentially derail the plot first. Things didn't even go as I had planned which is expected with any good RP :)

2. Also, something I've seen in this RP forum I haven't seen often elsewhere are the cross-threading aspects. I saw some of it in CoH RP, with Whitmoore and Paragon U, but not to the extent I see it here. With the Whitehold thread, there are events taking place in a time-specific break for the events of the museum heist thread to play out for a bit.

3. Typically, there's an OOC thread attached to every RP thread to hold all group questions about what's going on, clarification, planning, plotting, etc. that needs that "meta" discussion characters can't have because they know less than the writers. These are valuable to know what might be happening and where to ask questions before jumping in if one so chooses.

Oh, and welcome to the madhouse!

Everyone seems to have put up quite a few really good guidelines to play by. I'd like to mention a few details about 'scenery' so to speak.

You probably know what an NPC is, I don't know how anyone else likes to treat it but there are also certain standards I use to handle them.

Tier 1: Random mobs or citizens fit here, they don't do much, give you money, inspiration or get beat up and drop clues. These disappear all the time, they're scenery, chew on them? Though please not literally we like the custodian.

Tier 2: Fuzzy space where sometimes you can control them and sometimes not. A boss for a mob fits here when he's noted by the first person to write the character, something is up with him, don't meta play, but also don't knock him out. He will be eventually, he's not Lord Recluse, but he'll get his before, durring or after, his evil plot device.

Tier 3: These are 'named' NPC's, they support a villain or hero. No one else gets control, though some of these I have are from other peoples ideas, so that NPC is also a bit of Foradain's influence since I'm still not sure what the wise cats are doing. Anyway, These guys are important, they probably get beaten too(Or not?) whatever side you're on, but they're a harder boss.

Tier AH!: This is special, sort of a cross between tier 3 and tier 1. Why? Giant monsters. I didn't make this clear but I think it should be, a giant monster in my opinion does something every time someone else does something, so if you want it to blast you in the face, okay, cool. If you want to kill it, then it comes down to the player who made it deciding if it survives.

Everything other than this is a player character. Atleast as I see it. All my villains, player characters. Though at some point I like to throw a villain or hero off as a Tier AH!... That's how I intend most of their final fights to be. Big, scary, everything's on fire, no one has more than 11% of a plan.

I may be over analyzing NPC v player dynamics but it helps me lol.

Also about the inter connected thing, I really like it honestly. Not sure how or if that can or will happen more with other compatible groups, but that's kind of part of a community building I think.

Tonbo's personal powers stop at the capacity to project his Ki, creating intense shockwaves.

The powers come from a Shintai worn around his wrist, the Magatama and bracelet it's attached to house the spirit of an ancient martial arts master who traveled across japan. The bracelet and the Kami allow him to convert his Ki into the five elements, Koryu claims that there are more skills he could teach Tonbo, but has not.

Background: (Vague version cause... it's long...)

Tonbo was born shortly before world war two, but due to magical artifacts he's been exposed to has aged at roughly a quarter that pace. He claims to have spent his 'childhood' in the wilds and fighting, and his youth traveling and learning. Though he has remained vague of the how and why, such as visiting and owning a piece of the berlin wall, or being present for President Kennedy's assassination. There are students around who sometimes call him "Counsel Avatar", since there have been occasions of him using his palms coated in ice, fire, or earth and firing gusts of winds from his palms. He claims that's wholely in accurate since he can't control the elements.

In his office, hangs his doctorate in psychology is dated 1969, he has signed portrays of Frank Sinatra, Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, and other movie stars, singers or dancers from his child hood or time growing up. He also has ticket stubs to the first Beatles Concert, the original Starwars showings and a few weapons in shadow boxes.
