Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

To purchase your copy of the City of Titans Launcher, visit our store at https://store.missingworldsmedia.com/ A purchase of $50 or more will give you a link to download the Launcher for Windows or Mac based machines.

Just throwing out a few

Just throwing out a few random "sci-fi fashion" ideas that looked potentially interesting for CoT:

Don't let all the black fool you... you could use all sorts of happy Teletubby rainbow colors on these outfits to switch things up. :)

Depending on which browser you're using you should be able to right-click on any pic and select something like "Properties" or "View Image Info" to get the URLs for them. Or you could just "pretend" you're going to quote my post in a response and get the links from my post.

Do you mean they aren't showing up on this webpage? I wasn't seeing any trouble with them here. Then of course I doubt I'd bother to post them here if I was having any trouble with them myself; kind of goes without saying I suppose.

I think what he means is that the urls of the images don't provide complete information on the articles. The second seems to be from GQ, the third from the Daily Mail, but that's all I get.

Oh yeah I guess as "fashion pics" they were probably originally associated with news articles and/or online magazines. I just found them as individual pics (not via related articles) so I didn't pay much attention to that.

Yeah no worries. I don't think the pics were related/connected to each other beyond the general theme and all the blackness. I'm not even sure they're all that new - I think I saw that the first one was from like 2013.

I first thought "why bother with just a few bits of metal like that" but then I imagined maybe this is an example of armor from a fantasy world where for some reason iron is very rare. In such a scenario this could be a piece of armor from a wealthy knight from that world. ;)

I was looking at the Battlewaith Art thread and Slan's recent work on 3D printing figurines. I noticed a post of his that was a pic meant to be a "Juri Han 3D printing" guide. While he was likely focusing on her expressions I noticed the cool "spider strap" halter top she was wearing:

Here's another pic highlighting a slightly different version of the back straps:

I'd love to have a top like this in CoT because it looks like it would be perfect for a person who had wings. It would seem the straps could easily slip right between the wings. ;)

I was kinda looking at the top and thinking to myself "yeah, that looks ok". Then I saw the back and it shifted "ok, that's kinda cool, I like it".
That reminds me that sometimes the detail on the back is more important than what you see from the front.

TBH, that's basically the way I reacted to this as well. The front halter part is not what really "sells" the overall idea. The sum of the parts makes it a cool looking item.

Having individual costume items look good from all sides is important but when you think about it what a given character looks like from the back tends to be the way you (as the player) gets to see that character a majority of the time. So as you imply that should almost be -more- important than what they look like from the front. ;)

Considering the fact that I (as a Player) see the back(s) of my character(s) approximately 99% of the time I'm playing ... I'd dare say that you're right. It's one of the motivations for why MMORPG is an acronym for Many Men Online Roleplaying Girls ... because if you're going to be staring at butt for several hours a day while playing the game, you often want it to be a butt you'd prefer to watch undulating in front of you ...

Just sayin' ...

Never heard of MMORPG standing for Many Men Online Roleplaying Girls but I suppose it fits. I have seen plenty of people use GIRL for Guy In Real Life. I saw a good number of people put "I'm a GIRL" at some point in their character bios back in CoH (I suppose in case it wasn't already obvious). At least you broke out your thesaurus and came up with "undulating" instead of another seemingly more emotionally charged word you could have used so I'll commend you for that. ;)

Anyway it's a good thing you said "99% of the time" because there's always an exception that proves the rule...

Wouldn't it be funny if CoT provided a slider for "flat to bubble" butt. This pic could serve as examples for the extreme settings for that slider. ;)

Well I can't speak for anyone else but I almost never spent time doing that - I was too busy -playing- the game. ;)

Seriously though I remember spending probably hundreds of hours tinkering with all of my costumes for all of my characters so I got a huge amount of "facetime" looking at my characters from all different angles including the front. I guess by the time I got down to actually playing the game I didn't need to spend any serious amount of time spinning the camera around to see what my characters looked like at that point.

I suppose if you live long

I suppose if you live long enough you end up seeing everything, and when I say "see everything" that's pretty much what's going on here. Apparently Kendall Jenner is now sporting what are being called "loincloth dresses" that take the concept of a side-split just about as far up as you can go:

I honestly don't really care for the black dress too much (although I guess she just wore it over the weekend so it's currently in the news) but the white one might be cool for CoT. It looks like something a sorceress or a sci-fi princess might wear.

Did you mean something like this (which BTW would also be cool to have in CoT):

Sure that works too. Frankly I basically forgot about them. I was probably just so passive-aggressively upset the game never let players have access to those outfits that I completely blocked them from my mind. That, or I was simply too busy grinding ITFs to spend much time admiring the semi-naked ladies in Cimerora. ;)

Out of the dozens of possible "Sybils" desviper could have been talking about I actually thought of this one first. Of course that's probably just going to be me on that one...

Well if you're going to go any higher you might as well cut to the chase and wear the "standard" sci-fi princess uniform:

We need a cigarette hanging

We need a cigarette hanging from the lips (maybe even with a smoke trail) costume item.

Can be a cigar too.

Sure and that might even be a winner for "hasn't been mentioned yet" as well. :)

Might as well throw in a "toothpick in the mouth" suggestion here as well:

For some reason I'm hearing the ghost of Sigmund Freud exclaiming 'You see! Sometimes a cigar IS just a cigar, even to him!'

I joined the boards long after the Jigglaclypse, so I'm shamelessly tarring you slightly with ancient history here Lothic, but the mental image was funny enough to me to make me want to share it.

Oh I've long since assumed I'll be forever remembered for that fun little thread. But in the years since it has utterly amazed me how many times OTHER people keep bringing that topic up over and over again when I never once started a thread about it or even necro'd the thread you're referring to. I take perverse comfort in that. ;)

1) the mask! I love it!
2) the armored gauntlets...another cool piece.
3) The rest is just a standard spandex with odd strapping. the strapping makes a boring body suit stand out and works well on both male or female heroes.

1) the leather armor is dramatic.
2) the Power Girl boob window is already confirmed to be in the game.
3) the headpiece with hair clipping through it is right outa COH.
4) Butt Cape! Works very well,
5) black and gold works well here.
6) when the team gets to it...I now really want to pay the store for the wolf companion

I think the boob window is something you add to existing pieces

This is an interesting point. We know the Devs have mentioned that they want to offer costume items with the "infamous" boob window but I'm not sure it's going to be something that can be added (or more accurately cut out) of ANY other existing costume item. Honestly something like that - being able to "customize" any given item with optional tailoring details - would be bloody amazing!

No, I think what we're more likely to get is several "hardwired" items that come "pre-boob windowed". We'll probably get at least a spandex top with such a hole as well as other "dress tops" and/or "t-shirt" tops with that hole already pre-cut.

Again the idea that we'd be able to select ANY existing item and modify it to be "boob-windowed" would represent an amazing degree of flexibility that I honestly can't imagine would be within the realm of what would be possible in this game. For what it's worth I'd love to be proven wrong about that. ;)

I'm compelled to point out that this was the limit for power girl windows in the Old City.

Now, I find this to be a bit much, but that's how far it was taken.

And in that CoH case it was definitely part of that one unique, unmodifiable costume item. Being able to "boob window" any item was certainly not possible in CoH and likely won't be possible in CoT either.

Now certainly the topic of the "boob window" itself it a contentious one. Regardless of your personal stance on it we already know the Devs of CoT have confirmed they are planning to allow/include examples of it in with the rest of the available costume items. If I had to guess whatever CoT's "version" of it will be it'll likely be relatively subdued along the lines of this:

If you think this is a "bit much" just remember that in the scheme of things this example is far, far tamer than alternatives that could be had. *shrugs*

I'd have no problem with keeping anything like this as cash-store fodder. I expect I'm going to dump a ton of money into the store regardless. :)

If memory serves you had to pay extra for the "witch top" you showed as the CoH example of this.

TBH, I never had any trouble with the idea of having a few "cash store only items" as long as they kept it down to a handful and didn't trap anything that was truly unique there (i.e. having the only version of "pointy elf" ears be a cash only item). I'd be fine if they made say a special cape a "cash store only" item as long as plenty of other types of capes are available elsewhere.

Now the reason I bring that topic up is remember the Devs have already told us that according to their own policy they want to make sure that EVERYTHING in the cash store (presumably costume items) is ALSO available to be found in the game. In other words their goal is to make sure there are multiple ways to get anything in this game. This would mean that if in fact there are going to be "boob windowed" items in the game they are likely to exist both in-game and in the cash store.

Again like I said I personally wouldn't mind something like a boob windowed item be a "cash store only" thing. I'm just saying it's possible (likely?) such things will be "everywhere" in the game.

Also have an outfit with this character, that has a boob window (though not a leotard).

Not sure how Powergirl's outfit is to much. That comment just baffles me.

Though, here's an outfit from TERA. Which, now that I think on it, all their outfits in CoT would be good too.

Compared to your TERA example Power Girl's outfit is practically a Burka. It's all relative... ;)

desviper wrote:

Everyone has their limits I guess and at least you're being reasonable about it. I just wish most people would look at an item they don't like and just quietly decide "Nope, not for me" instead of getting their panties in a bunch and publicly whining "That evil X item is going to destroy the game" or such-n-such just to piss on everyone else's parade.

Again I get that every player won't like everything offered in the game. But just because you might not like something as an individual player doesn't give you the right to deny that something to someone else. I'll let the Devs decide what they'll allow in this game and if it's good with them it'll be good with me.

desviper wrote:

You keep making that point like it would be a "funny trick" or some kind of "punishment" to stick it to the "horndogs" as you call people interested in these things. Why would you care either way?

If anything if it turns out there's a particular item in the game that everyone else buys except you (because it was "too racy" for you or whatever) then all that extra money will likely pay for new content that you will get the benefit of. Based on that you should quit calling us "horndogs" and we'll start calling you a "freeloader". ;)

Unfortunately, It'd be sensible to reward buying that kind of content with more similar content so I probably wouldn't benefit from it in the end either. But who wins the moral arm wrestle between horndog and free-loader is subjective :p

We know that the CoH Devs specifically told us that they were able to implement new power sets based on the sale of some of their Super Booster update packs so I seriously suspect that the sale of any cash store content in CoT (including the so-called "horndog items") would likely benefit everyone in the long run.

Of course you do have a point that if the "horndog items" sell the best they'd probably keep making more of that to sell. But again that can only continue to help you, the "freeloader", because as long as you keep avoiding the "horndog items" but STILL continue to get the spill-over benefit you'll be playing on easy street. ;)

desviper wrote:

I don't see it as "subjective" at all. From my point of view I want to help this game succeed so I could eventually see myself being motivated into buying almost -anything- they sell. Conveniently since I'm quite sure -anything- this game ends up selling will be very well within my tolerance/comfort level I expect to have no hangups with anything. Remember this game is going to be "Teen" rated so -nothing- will actually be "Mature" in the slightest.

To be fair I don't really care how many of you "freeloaders" out there will avoid buying things for whatever your silly reasons. It's your money to spend - spend it how you like. Just remember when you get to play that brand new TF or try out a new power set you'll have us "horndogs" to thank for it because we had no qualms buying whatever there was to buy. Enjoy the moral high ground you cheapskate! :)

Sahira's 'powerset' is sewing and cleavage. She is not a super-being who has to worry about villains with weapons. She's 'support' for her friend Spinnerette, who got mutated by the experimental gadget that the men are discussing.

Good gods people I was just making a joke here. I understood the comic and the fact that Sahira is not the "superhero" in this situation. I just thought it was funny that the person lecturing the other person about the "problems" with boob windows is herself practically falling out of her own top. ;)

To me it's kind of like the parent who tells the kid not to smoke while they are themselves smoking. Get it? :)

Your ... "joke" ... only makes sense by ignoring context of the relative power levels of the characters involved.

1 is a new superhero wanting to figure out her crime fighting costume.
1 is a civilian who was neither dressed for nor wants to fight crime.

But that's fine, we get it. The joke is on you, Lothic, for doing everything you can to take things out of context and distract from understanding that your "joke" ... isn't.

My "joke" only requires you to SEE that the person who's talking bad about boob windows is herself almost literally wearing a boob window outfit herself. It's simplistic hypocrisy at work and that's what makes it "funny".

It requires NO knowledge of the characters and/or situation going on here at all. You guys realize people can wear or not wear boob windowed outfits REGARDLESS of powers or not right?

My gods people lighten the F... up please...

In a way, Sahira has so much cleavage that a 'window' would be redundant. However, the conversation is certainly apropos for anybody wearing 'bulletproof' anything. Somewhat in context, Spinnerette was a nerdy young college student, before being super-ized, so her hunger for sexiness is only natural. She's NOT thinking things through, so Sahira is 'forced' to be the 'adult' in the conversation, somewhat against 'type'.

I do note the irony inherent in the conversation, as Lothic was pointing out. Unlike any of the Kryptonians, Spinnerette is not personally bulletproof, so intelligent considerations of Armor are hardly moot. I might also point out that the material for her costume comes from Spinnerette's tailbone-region. Sahira's the one with the home-weaving talents, to actually spin that stuff into threads and make cloth.

I get there's a lot of "backstory" going on here with these characters and considerations of "who has superpowers?" and "who isn't bulletproof?" all become important if you actually want to follow the narrative of the story being touched upon by these couple of out-of-context manga panels. Apparently I'm also the only person on the planet who wasn't intimately familiar with this particular manga as well so if you guys want to charge me with the crime of ignorance here I'm big enough to take it.

I was simply making a cute comment based on what was presented in the pics without regards to who the characters were or what the context was. You don't need to know ANYTHING about what's going on here to SEE that the person lecturing the other about "doing a bad thing" is herself effectively doing that "bad thing" herself. It really was just that simple.

I'll apologize if my simplistic joke about this was too off-putting and/or fell completely flat. For what it's worth I absolutely love Star Trek but I ALSO make jokes about it all the time and couldn't care less if other people joke about it as well. Let's all just take it for what it was and collectively rejoice that I'm not trying to make a living as a comedian. ;)

You don't really need to

You don't really need to understand anything about the characters or the backstory for those panels. I am only aware of the comic in a name recognition sense and I understood that the person lecturing was either not a superhero, or was one but currently out of costume.

The only way I think your joke would have landed, Lothic, would be if the other person was clearly a superhero in a revealing costume.

For the record it was painfully obvious that Sahira was NOT a superpowered superhero here. I'm simply pointing out that was a useless bit of trivia for the purposes of the "joke" I was making. As you yourself just said "you don't really need to understand anything about the characters or the backstory" here.

Whether Sahira was a superhero or not doesn't stop anyone from SEEING that she was practically flopping out of her top. Perhaps the real problem here is that most of you guys are over thinking this by many orders of magnitude because you actually know TOO MUCH about this. Keep it simple people.

Seriously, just try to pretend there's no "powers" or "superheroness" going on here at all. Just take this as one woman wearing a very revealing top telling another woman "you shouldn't wear a boob-windowed outfit because it would be bad for you" and enjoy the silly irony of that.

lol... you're going to make me have to find a meme to throw at you when you say silly things. ;)

To be fair I already knew I lost this when I had to "explain" the joke but I also still think anyone who had a "problem" with this is taking all the details and nuances of this way, way, too seriously.

If you don't get the classic archetypal humor of "a parent telling a child not to smoke/drink while they are currently smoking/drinking themselves" then I'm just going to feel sorry for you and move on to something else.

Like... Context matters.

As for parents who smoke and/or drink who tell their kids not to... That's just pretty good advice. Moreso for the smoking part, though excessive drinking is a problem. Usually that kind of sentiment is because such a vice has had a negative impact on their lives and they'd prefer not to see their kids go through it.

I don't think I've ever seen a larger girl depicted wearing a chainmail bikini.

Oh I'll admit it's not the kind of thing you'd likely see everyday but I have actually seen IRL shall we say relatively "rubenesque girls" attempting to wear various bits of what could be called chainmail bikinis in public. It was... something you don't easily forget. ;)

It can't be that amazingly popular - I've never seen and/or heard of it until Redlynne posted about it. *shrugs*

Project_Hero wrote:

Just LOOK at the pic. That's the only "context" you need here. As far as "pretending" goes that seems to be your problem, not mine.

Project_Hero wrote:

Yes, it is.

Project_Hero wrote:

Why does a "specific situation" matter? You're still looking at a quasi-topless woman telling another that it's bad to be quasi-topless. Irony ensues.

Project_Hero wrote:

And in this case the only "context" that matters is the obvious sight gag the artist hid in plain sight. At least whoever drew this web comic was rather clever.
