I really just need a place to post these episodes, seemly because they're all so good.

It's guys like this that have made me forego almost all regular TV. Pretty much my entire visual entertainment/ infotainment is now found on Youtube, with Netflix and a local cinema rounding out the gaps.
Thanks for posting these, they are a whole bunch of fun.
And I take the opposing stance - Guys like this are why I avoid YouTube.
If I wanted science I would read a text book! I don't... Because Comics!!
(actually, stuff like this can be interesting from time to time... But mainly I am not looking for real science in my entertainment.)
---
Not quite normal...
These are cute and a fun lark :).
Personally--since it is almost certain that there is vastly more that we ("we" meaning all of human knowledge up to this point in history) don't know than we do know about, well, everything (see * below)--I find explanations of fictional superpowers that are based solely on what little we do know at this point often a bit cumbersome. I prefer to think of fantastical powers as generally beyond our current knowledge. The whole "any sufficiently advanced science" thing.
For example, he and the others who posit the quantum tunneling explanation of phasing either outsmart themselves a bit or assume that people just aren't paying close attention and will accept on authority. A close listen will show that what he describes is actually a form of teleportation. As explained by him, quantum tunneling isn't moving through space at all. You would just appear at the new location, not become insubstantial yet visible and travel through substances like a ghost. To try to explain that with quantum tunneling is a whole different story. And just because we don't currently know how to circumvent electron repulsion doesn't mean it can't be done.
But I do very much like imposing mundane real-world observable physics on all of that which is not supposed to be "super" in fiction--like the whole lava thing--because to me it makes the fictional world more intuitive and concrete and aids in suspension of disbelief. That way, at least everything doesn't behave fantastically, and so the fictional world feels more "solid" and works as a relief so that the fantastical elements stand out even more.

Yeah I like this guy better than most guys who try to teach you science through pop culture, he has much less "See, see? Mad science doesn't exist yah idiot" about him. He understands the fantasy of superheroes even while saying that it shouldn't be possible for Spider-Man to be Spider-Man in the real world.

I'm disappointed the first video didn't address the worst lava death scene in the history of cinema:

I enjoy the videos when it's a topic I care to hear about :) Even if I don't care for the final result, some of which I think has to take into aspects that can't be accounted for sense it's a fictional universe.
Or comments like "Batman would sometimes have to avoid his rule" on that it may kill people. :p Batman trying to rescue people and failing, is not him killing them :p Trying to stop them from dying 100% is trying to rescue them :)

Super strength and physics was explained very well as a zero range telekinesis, In other words you had to touch an object to affect it.
So you could lift a car with one hand, as telekinesis was affecting it and not the physics of your hand.
This zero range telekinesis also explained invulnerability. Bullets would bounce off your telekinetic shield, appearing to bounce off your skin - because you shield had a range if zero.

Ah, so basically Dark Souls! Hide behind obstacles the enemy can't attack through, then when you want to kill it bury your had in its ass and start swinging. Classic.
An infinite number of tries doesn't mean that any one of those tries will succeed. I could flip an infinite number of pennies an infinite number of times and, barring genuine randomness, they will never come up "Waffles".

Holy f'ing party pooper!
Dude goes to lengths to explain proprioception then totally discredits its use. "How would you use stairs", you kick the back of the stair then put your foot down. "But what about thermal goggles" yeah dudes don't go around wearing thermal googles that often. "What if it's raining?" shelter? It's not raining every day.
Fair enough on the blindness though: if the retinas aren't interacting with light, yeah you can't see.

These vids are obviously just meant to poke holes in Superhero fiction in a humorous way. They aren't meant to be fair and balanced. You can clearly see how he often preferentially focuses on arguments against the possibility of powers and minimizes or ignores any hypotheses that could make them possible. Never mind that what we know now is not what we will know in the future, so making a final judgement on things based upon current knowledge is innately flawed: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paradigm_shift
Just as any sufficiently adavnced technology is indistinguishable from magic, saying that something is impossible really just means that we don't currently know how it is possible.
So, either way, no need to take it too seriously :).
FIGHT EVIL! (or go cause trouble so the Heroes have something to do.)
Except that he spent an entire video talking about how plausible and realistic Guile’s “Sonic Boom” power is.
Maybe he just really likes Guile.
He does have a really good theme.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
I try to view him like i do CinemaSins, whom i adore: harmless nit-picking.
But he was totally silly on this one.

Assuming you had the ability to bend light around yourself such that you are literally 100% invisible, you'd also not be able ot see anything, since all of the light that would have otherwise entered your eyes was bent around your head instead.
BUT, if you allow, say, 20% of the light that WAS going to enter your eyes to still enter your eyes, or to enter a CCD camera system designed to give you decent HUD sight, you'd still be VERY VERY VERY difficult to see, and that part of you that would be visible would be the lenses of your eyes, which would still be like 80% invisible. That's close enough for me.
R.S.O. of Phoenix Rising
Invisibility via optical camouflage beats the "can't see anything" problem, of course. Since you've got tiny cameras and pixels taking views from one side and feeding them out the other side as images, they can also send the signal to your eyepieces.

How much vaporization/disintegration is an acceptable amount?
Heart or brain, should be more than enough I think. That way only a room full of superheated gasses would be created.
