Well with the grind and Egypt maybe too many threads for limited time I hate to hold up events.
The smoke never settled because it's an illusion and is covering half of the darn city, also you would need a skyscraper to be able to get out of the smoke by going upwards.
Well, it was worth the try. OOC, if it's a mental illusion, would it have the same impact on another mental illusionist? Of course, if it's magical, the point's moot for Nyght.
It would have impact on everyone, except those who Faceless chooses to not be impacted. Like Jorortis right now with the smoke.
Mental illusions tend to not work on Rotten. Kind of hard to trick a brain that been rewired to work via magical essence, not to mention it's dead. I took it as a visual illusion

Faceless' illusions make his victim's brain itself think the illusion is real, tricking the person into seeing things that their eyes don't actually pick up. It's the brain that processes the normal image and creates a black thick smoke within it. Something without a brain would be able to fully be immune to his illusions.
Wouldn't that make it a mental illusion? And if so, my original question was - would another mental illusionist have mental defenses to that sort of thing - otherwise, they'd be fooled by their own illusions. Just trying to figure this out.

An illusionist would not be picking himself to cause illusions upon himself now would he? I don't think illusionists have defense from illusions, it's just that they don't cause the illusions upon themselves.
Shepherd rescued the kidnapped boy from the goo guy, the goo guy tried to capture (and start dissolving) Marianne, and then was going to rush off with Marianne still trapped inside it, if it wasn't stopped.
At that point the action switched back to Jorortis and Faceless, so if Blue wanted to jump into the goo-guy's action, that could be what he had been doing, as that part of the fight is picked up again.
And yes the goo monster is gone, then Faceless came to help his bud Jorortis and caused an illusory jet to drop an illusory bomb, seeign as that illusion failed he created the black thick smoke illusion.
And actually due to not being a dick, Marianne was left nearby and unharmed, since the player went off.
Rotten would be mostly immune to the mental illusion then. Thought I played it that he just used his other senses. He's more of a Spirit operating the mummified body.

Well, if the spirit operating the body isn't putting the brain of the body to use then he would be immune, yes.
The brain in this case more of a control board. The more magic running through it the more control Ron has over his base zombie behavior. And that just hit Zero so it's Resurgence time and now Rotten would seek out any flesh he can get including friends and allies. Until he feed on anything Raw meat of any kind works. He's running on pure instinct of feed the hunger.

Nyght's flesh is technically dead (although not decomposing). You know, just in case he catches sight of her. :-)
Actually, aside from the faint lilac perfume she favors, she has no real scent at all, which is one of the things that makes animals wary of her.
The only problem being that Faceless is currently nowhere in sight, so you can't target him for any attack.
Well I just play that it did work. The brain does have a funtion more of a battery then thought process.

Well, i can stop being a dick with my villains and wirthdraw to let the actual today's event happen - Meet your heroes day, instead of meet your villains day.
I have to say, I was looking forward to some Q&A panels too. We'll have to see how things pan out and if there are any civilians left to entertain. Although, technically, this all was probably pretty entertaining to them, right up until the buildings started collapsing, lol.
Well, a gathering of heroes would actually be a good day to start spreading some chaos, also my goo guy was looking for opportunities to steal test subjects.
I think aside from the flaming meteorite, Jatoris is the only threat remaining.
And it has been fun Faceless, though Sarah would have loved a stressful day off. :D

You can always chill at the Whitehold. It's hero (okay there are some Rogues) only RP or at least Non aggressive RP. No fights take that outside lol.

Due to me not being a dick, Marianne was left unharmed nearby the area and the ooze had escaped, because you had to go. And no, the illusions would not affect Alko, since she probably does not have an organic brain. I couldn't post about the ooze leaving Marianne and escaping because of some site error.

I have to tell you all, I haven't had any really good Hero / Villain RP since CoH closed down, and with the wild barrage of posts last night, it felt kind of like coming home. My hat's off to you all, it's great to find a good group of RP'ers, and RP'ers in the Comic genre, that's just win/win.

Yeah, it's fun just roleplaying the characters out =p I don't think my current character is going to see a lot of RP though. I can't write for him consistently personality wise. He never really had much of one either beyond "I fight a lot" xD Maybe he'll turn into a full fledged thug when he's forced to register or something, and start showing up as opposition in RP's for the sake of being opposition. The hero to villain ratio just seems very slanted in the hero's favor xD

Just out of curiousity, would it be accurate to compare the Virus thing to a Hard light construct, ALA green lantern? Like, it's made of energy, not anything really solid?

In the same vein, would Nyght find it to have a sentient mind, even if it's a viral hive-mind? If not, she'd figure mental attacks on it were not effective.
I was going to go into what it was after it was defeated it was something jorortis created while trying to gain immunity to attacks onto his more cybernetic parts it manifested and gainned a mind of its own so mental attacks won't really work...its pretty much an electronic animal that's head is locked tighter than a vice.

Well, it's just hard to attack something when we don't know how to account for it's reactions to attacks >.< See, my strongest attack is to teleport pieces of a victim away. Essentially making a blade that can cut through anything solid ((the magic and psychic folk can resist the teleports)). But if it's an AI with no REAL physical body, then teleporting chunks of nothing would do... nothing. It just helps us to RP properly.

Just so Shepherd knows, Nyght is definitely pretty well permeated with some form of Dark Magic, possible Voudoun or something related. She does, however, have a soul.. When there's a break in the fighting, Shepherd is welcome to approach her with any questions he may have.

Quick question: I thought Whipcrack had successfully evactuated all the civilians from the field encircled by collapsing buildings, by using his force-bubble to hold up the falling rubble until the civilians all evac'ed through a manhole down into the steam tunnels below, and Whipcrack followed them all down into the Steam tunnels as well.
Has Whipcrack come back out? Are there other civilians in peril?
Would you want to be lost in the sewert systen of the city? There no real way to know to go to get ou. No real light either besides whipcrack enegy constructs.

Actually, I said water pipes. Whole other ball of wax.
What I had in mind was that the city's infrastructure monitoring network, having detected the destruction of the buildings, has rerouted the water running through that area and so the water levels are pretty low. The civilians have found a major valve chamber to bide their time in until Whipcrack wakes up.
Oh, and just to give you an idea of the scale, NYC's water pipes run anywhere from 16 feet to 24 feet in diameter.

Oh and by the way, anybody who could sense it, Faceless is surrounded by a spiritual aura and the flame surrounding his skull is a manifestation of spiritual energy. Also the meteor was flaming with this spiritual manifestation as well.
Eventually I'll remember the meteor, and my character will go "oh yeah... I should do something about that" and try opening a rift over the ocean or something. Probably resulting in a tidal wave, or some other natural disaster he'll inevitably get blamed for =p

Will do. For now, it's going to sit there like those too-good-to-use temp powers like the warburg nukes. I think I had one of each, and still never used any of them until CoH server's were approaching their end xD That and a snowbeast summon.

I had a batman like Vigilante and I went and got as many Temp powers as I could find, buy, or get. Had all three Nukes as well.

My favorite, I want to say was snake-be-gone. No damage to anything but the snakes, but that thing was permanent =D I shot people with it in PVP just to mess with them. It was bloody bay, so it was the most social pvp, and least tryhard out there xD Good times.

Been slowly replacing parts in the past 2 years the pc will be 6 years old this December since I bought it for champions online. this may be the pc I use for CoT. figure it's cheaper to replace parts with updated hardware rather than fork over a crap load of money for a new one.

Well..Probably not...to much damage...like 3 buildings fell and you know at least 1 person died. the city would wait a while before doing it again, but that's just me.

Sadly, I'd have to agree as well that after all the devastation, rescue operations would probably be the top priority, and the remainder of the Meet Your Heroes Day festivities would be placed on hold until some future date. However, I could certainly see the heroes participating in fundraisers for rebuilding and providing aid to anyone injured in the collapsed buildings and general attacks.
I'm guessing the news-station van driver might need some serious therapy coverage. :-)
If we wanted RP to continue in this thread, it might more likely be in assisting with searching the collapsed buildings to try and locate any survivors trapped in the wreckage, etc.
Given that it's Titan City, and "this sort of thing would happen all the time" I'd try to argue that there's a backup venue ready to take on the crowd.
My realism brain however thinks this is silly and they would indeed cancel the rest of the day, at least to prep for moving the venue and event to tomorrow. (and would be more like a "meet your heroes week/weekend" than anything...) I'd like to think that there'd be a mentality to keep it happening, but the political side of it would be just enough to turn it into a liability fiasco or something equally shoddy.

How about this there bound to been a bad weather backup plan. Say a convention center to stage the event. So they could villain attack as bad weather and move it indoors. this does two things one allows for people to be in a remote location where they can find lost love ones easier and two keep up the good spirits. As well as get the civilians out of the danger zones of the collapsed buildings.
