Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

I think there are a lot of people in the world who seem to think it's a titillating idea at the very least... sorry, I just had to take that shot. ;)

To give the idea a bit of practical consideration it might be interesting if this game allowed the "general chest region" of any character (male or female) to be an emanation point for powers.

Beyond that given how negatively the Devs have reacted to "vaguely questionable" things related to female body parts in the past I wouldn't suspect "gun bras" will be too high up on the list of priorities for CoT.

Yeah it's been done in a lot of ways with males, females, robots, etc. The Devs could probably give us a generic chest emanation point without having to make it a "female breast/bra" thing. If they kept the "point" centered in the middle of the chest instead of being a "twin breast" blast thing then it would be hard to argue that it's a completely questionable suggestion.

Basically your example is more likely to happen in CoT than something like this:

I had googled 'war scythe' and gotten a hundred hits, most not quite the same, so I concatenated, but, to my untrained eye, they all look like sticks with pointy-things attached. I didn't mean it as a challenge, so much as a 'which one of the hundred variations on 'pointy stick' do you mean?'

That's actually exactly why it would be hard/unlikely. They'd likely have to come up with a unique set of body model animations that look reasonable when a player is holding two different props versus when they are only holding one (or none).

I'm not saying it's impossible. I'm simply saying it would probably require extra work that might not happen by the time the game launches.

Fair enough. Just pointing out that suggesting "dual props" (like having dual shields, swords, etc.) is something that would be likely require far more development work than just suggesting any single prop by itself. In that case you wouldn't be just suggesting an idea for a simple prop (which might by itself be "simple" enough to be included with the launch of the game) but also requiring a large amount of specialized animation work to go with it.

Again for what it's worth I'd also like to see dual shields be a thing in CoT. I'm just saying it'd take a lot more work than just adding another generic prop to the game.

in all honesty not counting

in all honesty not counting different martial arts and a few instruments that are easy to animate I'm expecting like 6 weapon styles: one-handed, two-handed, weapon and pistol, one pistol, two pistols and a rifle. The devs can probably do alot with just those for weapons, want a Captain America type? Just put the shield on your wrist and take a street fighting style, want a sword and shield? pick one handed animations and put the shield on your offhand wrist. Want to throw it? A simple throwing animation can fix that, we don't need a different throwing variation for the shield at the start of the game. We have limited resources and limited time, aesthetics shouldn't be that complex.

Shields are a bit unique when

Shields are a bit unique when it comes to the question of "do they need their own special prop animations" to make them work. What makes them unique would be their physical size.

If you just want to strap small bucklers to your hands or forearms you might be able to get away without needing any dedicated animations to make them look realistic. At that point they are more like "oddly shaped gloves" and can basically be handled as costume items, not props. As costume items it shouldn't matter whether you wear them one-handed or two-handed.

But by the time any hand-held shield gets much bigger than a buckler you'd pretty much need dedicated animations regardless if you're wielding one or two of them. At that size they need to be handled as "props" the way CoT seems to be defining that term.

Sure anything that might require "more/extra" animation will likely not be ready by launch time. That includes "dual wielding" anything. I'm just pointing out there can be a fine line between something that's always implemented as a "costume item" versus always being implemented as a "prop". Physical size of the item can make a difference and I think you can provide certain things in the game as both costume items AND props.

In the case of shields I think you could literally have some tiny/small shields that are figuratively bolted on to a character's forearm as a costume item and have it look OK without any specialized animation whereas a larger shield would likely look bad if you tried to do that without dedicated animation.

Just don't get locked into always thinking X can only be a prop and Y can only be a costume item. There can be some crossover.

I'd think that tactica gear

I'd think that tactica gear would be more military looking or something like reaper from overwatch would use, while swat gear would be something a cop would wear.

Turns out a reference on

Turns out a reference on Discord to the classically campy Star Trek TOS episode "Spock's Brain" gave me an idea for a prop for this game. Basically it's to have a bracelet with buttons on it and pressing the buttons activates powers as an emanation point. It's really a pretty simple idea.

The following show teaser highlights this idea in just the first few seconds of the vid:

I'd agree animations related to emanation points that don't involve props clearly go in the Animation Thread.

But I assumed the "wrist console" as you've called it would be considered a physical prop. Would you call a hand-held wand (acting as emanation point) a "prop" or an "animation"?

I would think any emanation point that's centered on an "object" is a "prop" and belongs in this thread. Props like this will have their own unique animations but they aren't strictly JUST animations. That's the key difference.

I agree that anything adding an emanation point and/or that brings with it some animations of its own simply because it is on your character would classify as a prop. A helmet with a blade would just be a costume item, but a bladed helmet that shoots from the blade tip or that can be used with a headbutt animation that otherwise would not be available would elevate it from costume item to prop.

I noticed caltrops are not on

I noticed caltrops are not on the list. I suppose they fit better as a power effect than a prop per se, but they still need to be modeled by someone. And while we're on the subject of caltrops, I recommend that one of the selections for the look of a character's caltrops be to make them look like legos, which the whole world over knows are the most debilitating caltrops ever devised.
