Apparently they're releasing a cheaper version of it in Japan sometime soon. I think it comes without the dock or something like that. So that might hit north America at some point, probably only like, $50 cheaper or something.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
I meant to edit my post, but I believe they waited for her to get back before mobilizing
At least Nagual would have
________
I like that art! And as for how to introduce her, perhaps she was watching the plant since she may have found the bodies and the larger catfish and sees/senses activity from the chemical plant fight?
And is Zoey a human? A atlantean? A mix? And idk if you asked for name suggestions, but for Selkie I could see a name like Fathom or Marina (where sea meets land).

Probably not a good idea to name a character Marina when they're based on a character of the same name.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
I haven't posted about her returning yet and there's a lot of counting down and such indicating things are already on the move.
It's fine if that's the case, by the way, they're a bunch of teenagers after all. Teens are known to be irrational and impulsive.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
The intention was to have them wait for Hauntress to get back. At least that's what Scarlet was purposing. But a few people already had posts written out as they were ready to engage so I figured it was more a "prepare-to-attack-and-Hauntress-would-come-back-just-in-time-to-tell-them-of-what-she saw"-kind of moment.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
Likewise, thus I waited to post. ^_^
Broach's plan is to open a portal along the floor underneath Blackout, with the other end dumping him in Steward's Bay. Not far from where Broach had a swim the other night. Downside is he may just disengage.

I thought they were going to port out the kid first since he’s a priority, and see if they can’t subdue whoever’s in the control center?

Under where Nagual is positioned, in a refrigerator like unit watched by two thugs.
A simple small portal would do it

Edited.
Sorry, I thought the kid was in the security center. :(
No, if we drop the unit through a portal, the kid could be injured. Disconnect and push the unit through, or open and extract.

Actually I think I might change her name to Fathom. I cannot believe I didn't think of that as a potential name for her considering its a perfect name on her. The problem with using Marina is that atleast appearance wise she is based off of her and I rather not potentially ever invoke copyright. I do know there is a character named Fathom out there but I have never read any of the books on her so I have no clue what her powerset or personality is like.
It wouldn't reflect too good on me either which is why I changed the colors (I just really like pale blues and purples) and made Zoey a shapeshifter type so theoretically she could take on the shapes of other sea animals too but she prefers an humanoid octopus form because she likes octopuses and is related to the aforementioned Nautilus whom looks more like an old man with humanoid nautilus traits.
Combat wise she is a bit based off of Suneater's powerset from My Hero Academia and an different interpretation of Druidic shapeshifting (druids tend to change their entire bodies when she can change parts of her body). Suneater's power was basically to take on the traits of anything he eats. So if he ate a swordfish he could form his hands into swords, if he ate an octopus he could form his hands into tentacles, and so on and so on. Doesn't sound very powerful on the surface but he had a pretty good showing in that manga and could fight really well.
As for her heritage herself. She is technically an mix. Her mother was an Abyss Walker while her father was an modern day human. The Abyss Walkers don't generally identify as metahumans or modern day humans. They protect land dwellers and natural sea dwellers (or any peaceful sea dwelling sapients) and have been doing so for centuries (I assume that mythical sea monsters exist in City of Titans world and have existed for a long time, The Abyss Walkers are one the groups that hold em back). They are technically human but have way more latent druidic potential then any modern day human living on the surface.
They are mostly humans with nature magic but there society and culture is different enough that they are diverging from modern humans. Abyss Walkers tend to take on traits from sea animals in their default states (Nautilus looking like an humanoid nautilus, an background character I have looks like an humanoid sea bunny, etc.). The former Abyss Walker villain concept I have would be based off of a Chimaera or Ghost Shark.
I believe a good place for Fathom or Zoey to reveal herself would be as soon as the fighting starts and thugs make an attempt to get away with a boat on the docks, well, the ones the turned tail and run anyway.

Sure I can do that.
Hey so I'd like to make a proposal, I have an idea for a group of teen villains, and I was wondering if anybody here would be interested in something like that? Maybe even have a sort of archnemesis sort of thing going on? The basic idea is a secret school for young supervillains where they would be taught how to use their powers, and how to fight while also acting as a hub for people willing to hire the students as mercenaries. What do you guys think?
not my video just one I lke ===> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6-SdIN0hsM

I don't really have any Teen villains that I can think of. I do have some edge cases that could work for such a thing though. Yeah, I have a couple I could pony up though I doubt they'd be straight up villains, probably more along the lines of "fell into the wrong crowd" or "had a bad life, this seemed a good alternative"
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
In the animated Teen Titans the Titans had an arch nemesis team called the HIVE Five. I heard that they also existed in the comics but don't exactly know if thats true as I have never gotten my hands on one.
I think that could work. The only issue is trying to RP the villains and the heroes at the same time may get complicated and hard to do. I think an villain academy could work but you'd have to use an explanation for it's existence. Say make it look like an special private academy on the surface but in reality it's an villain looking to make more villains out of known or suspected teenage capes.
Well that is the basic idea, I did say secret school after all and that the point of it is to also act as a hub to hire the teens out as mercenaries.
not my video just one I lke ===> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6-SdIN0hsM

Hmmm that could work. There is way more outlandish ideas for training and hiring black market mercs out there in comics already.
As far as power levels, I had in mind that Blackout is at base, as powerful is the team is in concert working together.
So to beat him, they would just require a plan.

Just wondering... may I contribute a villain idea to use down the line?
Here's the basic gist:
Name: Silencer
Age: 30
Appearance: Wears a black and white full body suit with a concealing mask that completely covers his face. The only parts of his skin visible are his fingers and left eye through the mask. His right eye has a red eyepiece. Additionally, he wears a white jacket over his suit and has two holsters where he keeps his signature custom pistols.
Powers and Abilities:

Cybernetic Eyes: Possesses cybernetic eyes which greatly assist his aim, and combined with his reflexes allows him to make precision shots quickly.

Cybernetic Illusions: Can create illusions thanks to his cybernetic implants, which includes making extremely convincing holograms of himself (complete with imitating scent) as well as other people or objects, and it tricks the neurons into believing it's real to the point where they can actually think they feel it when it's not there.

Dual Nervous Systems: Has two nervous systems, one being his normal one and the other being the cybernetic one. This means that he can switch off one and use the other when he needs to, effectively giving him a second chance.

Enhanced Senses: Possesses greatly enhances senses beyond that of a human, assisted by his cybernetics. His hearing, sense of smell, eyesight in particular serve as great tools in the battle.

Enhanced Strength: Can lift up to one ton with great effort.

Healing Factor: Boasts an accelerated healing factor that enables him to recover from injuries in a short time.

Hypnosis: Through his uncovered eye, he can hypnotize people into doing what he wishes (very good for making assassinations look like an accident) by projecting his cybernetic illusions into their minds. He has to be close and focus in on the target, and the target can resist through strong enough willpower.

Superhuman Agility: Able to pull off feats of agility beyond that of the finest human athlete.

Superhuman Reflexes: Possesses greatly enhanced reflexes, which enable him to dodge attacks with ease while greatly enhancing his own mobility.

Telepathy Immunity: The cybernetics make him greatly resistant to telepathic intrusion.
Paraphernalia:

Dual Pistols: His signature weapons are his dual pistols, fittingly enough equipped with suppressors (also known as silencers). They're quick and easy to use, and are befitting of someone who relies heavily on his mobility to succeed.

Grappling Hook: Possesses a grappling hook on his right wrist that he can use to swing and ascend to different areas.

Knife: Carries a combat knife for those close range encounters where he can't use his guns.

Smokescreen: Carries smoke bombs, of course he's unaffected himself due to his cybernetics.
Bio:
The Silencer is the name of one of the world's most dangerous assassins. He goes beyond that of a normal gunsman. That's because he was born by infusing man with machine, having been experimented on to make him an organic cyborg. While appearing human on the outside, his mind and body have actually been combined with that of a nanomachine that enhances his attributes. Because of this, he lacks much of the needs a baseline human does, and can focus on killing. Silencer does tasks for whoever pays the most. While he says he takes no pleasure in the job, it's one that must be done. Silencer considers himself a professional, getting the job done quickly and efficiently.
----
I was thinking Keeling (or whoever) will get desperate and hire Silencer down the line to take care of Gen-T. My idea for the character with how he fights is that while he might not be the most direct and brutal fighter, he's very quick, nimble and subversive in how he gets it done, making him more than a match for the team. What do you think?
How are the Mooks doing?

Blackout is the only enemy in the plant rn

With the boats, I think it’s your time to shine and show up, Fathom.
The one that will be picking up Blackout kinda needs to get away for plot purposes, but feel free to have fun with three armed thugs on the second.
The truck I feel like the main team can handle, we have now had a fight and we get a chase.

My only issue with Selkie is that she is not an seal in the water. She can make herself look similar to one though.
Similar is all you need :P

Come on Selkie! :D Its time to shine, especially since some of us are already at certain disadvantages already.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
Broach isn't going to be able to drop the team onto a speedboat doing evasive maneuvers. But they'll at least be able to watch Selkie do her thing. ^_^

A shape-changing character might not be restricted to mammal-forms, but might freely adapt the hard shell of a crustacean, the sonar sense of a cetacean, the stinging skin of a jellyfish, or the spiky defenses of a sea-urchin. Thus Fathom may be more interesting, but I think I'd have more fun hanging out with a Selkie, more comfortable and easier to 'fathom'.
Of course, I'm not in this thing.

I wrote Zoey in. I hope her introduction was not too long winded. I am assuming that the escape speed boats carrying the mooks and Blackout are running near each other with only her getting on the nearest one to disable the criminals.
I tried to establish her character a bit here, hope it worked. Also funny thing, I looked up some sea animal biology intentionally to try to find the right animals that could jump onto a boat. Sword fish apparently do this very often. I initially was going to go for a mako shark for the ''scare factor'' but they don't seem capable of jumping on boats as far as I know and you don't need to look like a shark to scare the bejeezus out of people on a boat that your pursuing underwater just via swimming really fast.
Her intro was a fine length, and I really like the way it was written. I also thought about swordfish with boat jumping so i was happy to see ‘animal accuracy’ too.
I think Zoey/Fathom will make a fine addition to the team. My question is how do you want her name to come up? A suggestion, name her yourself, etc?

Initially I was thinking of something silly like her realizing that she feels awkward for forgetting to choose and name for herself cause she was too focused on scouting around Titan City. She is aware of capes and knows she will likely be seen as one by most people.
I feel like accidentally that would be a in character way for her to end up choosing her moniker

One of my favorite things is character development. If I 'see' a player having trouble with their character, then I hope that my input can help. Especially 'new' people. My particular area of interest is 'mythology' and legend, so I saw Sleepymoth getting involved, noted her mythic characters and I wanted to support that. My link to the forums starts with 'New' every time, so this bit of RP shows up every time. I like it! I'm trying to be observer and resource and cheering-section, not wanting to interfere with Play. Go, Play, Defeat Skuls!
With the Sea bordering so much of Titan City, a 'water' hero(ine) seems like an important part of every breakfast (I mean superteam!)
I agree that if Sleepymoth will just Play and establish her character through actions and dialogue, her Friends will help her register a moniker. Picking a name might come up in-character.
Be Well!
Fireheart
I always really liked mythology and for me any fictional world that allows it so those myths can be real can be very interesting to mess around with.
I always really liked mythology and for me any fictional world that allows it so those myths can be real can be very interesting to mess around with. My interest for mythology started back in City of Heroes when I first discovered that the Red Caps and Tuatha were based on actual myths and folklore.
The mythology in Croatoa was badly mangled, but I also liked the place.

If Fathom can take on aspects of sea life don't forget about the mantis shrimp. It can punch with the force of a bullet (or so I have heard) and it's eyes have like, 16 color receptors. It's bad ass.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mantis_shrimp
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
Yeah I know of the mantis shrimp. Its an wonderful animal. I was actually thinking of using it but I thought it would be too brutal of an attack. The jellyfish toxins she stung the mooks with is just meant to be painful, not lethal toxins like some jellyfish have.
She also is capable of what mimic octopi can do and can just change her skin to reflect her surroundings. She didn't use it here because its night out (atleast from what I understand) and even then the thugs would still see her shadow in the water anyway even if she did try to change it.

Quick question, what kind of powers/archetype do you see with someone with low lever ‘angelic’ powers, such as wings and secondary mutation that stems from their personality?

Apart from being within the Guardian/Sentinel tree, which is a support healer. I'd probably see the powers being Preservation with Force Blast maybe? Barrier Generation wouldn't be that bad either, I think.

Was reworking and refining Diego’s backstory with a friend, and came up with this, thoughts? I think i like where his story is :)
The amulet that Diego wears is not channeling the attributes of one diety, but courting the personalities, powers and impulses of two. Alongside the god of the night sky, war, strife, obsidian and jaguars, the amulet houses the essence of Tepeoyollotl, the divine jaguar form that Tezcatlipoca can turn into.
Tepeoyollotl can attempt to possess the wearer, and if this happens the jaguar nature can take over and turn the wearer into a predatory beast. The amulet will do this if it finds a weakness in the heart of the wearer.
Diego’s grandfather fell victim to this curse, and Diego’s own father had to kill him. Diego’s father was supposed to inherit the amulet, but refused because of what happened. Diego is descended from Aztec priests who worshipped the deity.
In ancient times, every year in the month of May, during the festival of Toxcatl, a young man who has spent the past year impersonating Tezcatlipoca is sacrificed. One year a priest’s son was chosen to be that sacrifice. The priest pleaded with Tezcatlipoca, and appealed to him to spare his son. He argued that it would honor the deity more if the man devoted not a single year to him, but his entire life. Tezcatlipoca was persuaded by both the logic and sincerity of the priest, and so granted his amulet so that the young man could become his first earthly avatar. Since then it has passed unbroken for centuries.
Diego’s father was the first in a long time to refuse the mantle. Tezcatlipoca was furious and plagued him with nightmares, as well as raining misfortunes onto Juarez (he is the god of strife, war, and discord after all). The uptick of violence beginning in 1993 can be attributed to this.
Diego’s father was plagued by guilt, and those few old people who knew of the legend of the Nagual directly blamed him. Eventually his family was compelled to flee to a place where they could better hide from Tezcatlipoca‘a wrath, and Titan City seemed both large enough to disappear in and the super-powered residents could handle anything the angry god might bring.
When Diego was 18, in the month of May corresponding with the start of Toxcatl, the amulet called to him. He wore it and was filled with the strength and powers of the avatar of Tezcatlipoca. He now could go out and bring justice with the other powered heroes who he grew up idolizing. His father has no idea that his son is the new Nagual, and Diego is careful to keep that secret.

Those additions sound neat. He's got a sort of symbiote suit Spiderman thing going with the secondary entity possessing the body thing.
Can definitely come up during times of indecision or self doubt.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
Oooh. The new additions to Nagaul's origin do make things more interesting. But then again, I've usually always liked when a little mythology and even folklore gets mixed in with a character origin.

Here's an sketch of one of my characters from the very same artist whom did my avatar. She's going to be used in the street hero thread if that takes off (or an RP team that diverged off that thread.)
Kinda reminds me of a femme fatale in the pose and face.

The artist went for a Ghost in the Shell kind of look for her which is where you might be getting the femme fatale vibe from. She initially started out as a Cyberpunk 2077 protagonist idea but I could easily adapt her to superhero settings or other settings that she could work in.

They finished working on her. Artist credit goes to Evilunyia for drawing my character
I commented on this in the other thread!

Awesome art, SM! Reminds me that I actually have an art commission made of Scarlet Striker a while back. Albeit he's drawn with an adult's body.

I'm thinking that Broach is not the person to notice Blue Cloak's "shadowy figure" unless he entered via some sort of space warp thingy.
Foradain, Mage of Phoenix Rising.
