Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

To purchase your copy of the City of Titans Launcher, visit our store at https://store.missingworldsmedia.com/ A purchase of $50 or more will give you a link to download the Launcher for Windows or Mac based machines.

Even I'll admit that a "purse" might be in that "grey area" between prop and costume item. But as the last couple of posts allude to things like that might be able to serve as both... or at the very least they might be able to make two versions of a purse - one a prop the other a costume item.

Seriously ... how has the purse/reticule failed to get included as a prop, even if it isn't used as an emanation point for a weapon attack? Bare minimum it ought to be a "prop" that functions purely as a costume item (which could then conceal the emanation point for any of a wide variety of powers effects).

But yes. Alphabetized is the superior organization.

That is honestly very cool. I can see a few problems with the way he set up the axe holder (most notably how it wasn't really stable) that'd be very easy to fix with some proper leatherwork, belt design, and maybe an extra strap, and perhaps an oval shape with upward sticking prongs rather than the sort of half-box he tried to go for there, but by and large that looks like it'd be very efficient for drawing your axe. Less so for putting it away, but really if you can pull the axe out in time for a fight, you can take your time putting it away just fine :P

Worth noting is that this shoulder holster hardpoint would be easy to adapt to other weapon varieties, like swords, in terms of coding.

An infinite number of tries doesn't mean that any one of those tries will succeed. I could flip an infinite number of pennies an infinite number of times and, barring genuine randomness, they will never come up "Waffles".

My first thought for

My first thought for improving the design of his axe holder was the fact that the holder was just on a belt that spun around his torso, meaning the height of the prongs varied quite a bit. Adding what amounts to a shoulder pauldron (of sorts) to better anchor the holder at a specific height behind the shoulder would have helped A LOT in terms of being able to consistently holster and consistently draw the axe behind the back.

In order to be able to run with it, the prongs would need to be narrower such that the axe haft couldn't come out from between them unless it was twisted a bit when drawing. With a more secure "doesn't fall out as easily" hook arrangement like that, you'd be able to jog along or run better without worrying constantly about having your axe fall out of the holder. So basically the horseshoe shape of holder but with upturned tips to help prevent the axe from jostling enough to fall out (too) easily, with the assumption that you slide the axe haft into place over the shoulder like demonstrated, and that to draw you simply unhook and swing into a ready position.

Well that and apex humans are quite possibly the only ones who could use these weapons effectively, I mean to a trained gun user in our world all this gun kata stuff as ridiculous and yet the punisher can dual wield weapons that where never meant to be dual wielded at, and that's not even coming close to all the things people like Deadpool and Deathstroke can do, or like any of the gadgets that Deadshot can use. I could see a Punisher type vigilante using dual wielding shotgun axes or wearing knight armour shaped modern day armour. Heck I can even see a ninja using something like that triple bladed fidget spinner provided that you take out the plastic parts and replace them with metal. Yeah it's ridiculous when you use our world's context, but the same could be said for a lot of superhero stuff.

Bones and skulls and such in general would make for great costume/prop parts for a variety of styles. It doesn't have to be all characters with names like xXxDrizztSepirothXxX420, though I'm sure that is where they will see plenty of use.

You can use them without being grim and gloomy all the time. Baron Samedi is the life of the party :)

Toy weapons as props.

Toy weapons as props.

For guns, you could have the option of Nerf blaster knockoffs, the ratcheting "rat-tat-tat" assault rifle (distinguishable from the actual rifle by the orange plug on the barrel) or the classic pop gun.

Blunt weapons like hammers and bats would get rubber or inflatable versions that squeak when they hit something.

I want to wear an open robe over some tightie whities. I'd carry a shotgun and have a toothbrush in my mouth. They can call me "Grumpy Old Man"

Throw some slippers in there. Bunny slippers, bigfoot slippers, dinosaur slippers.

One of the characters I played in TSW was dressed in just shorts and bunny slippers. He looked great, imo.

As much as I want to see

As much as I want to see everything on this list and then some, I wouldn't be upset if a great deal of it is left out for launch.

It is a bit of a tricky balancing act. You want to cut out what you can for launch so it actually releases, but the release needs to be impressive so it doesn't flop that first impression. Once that first impression hooks players then you can harness that fanbase to make content for you, somewhat reducing your need to put stuff in the launch.

One way to help with that is probably having a relatively high amount of distinctly different options at launch. 57 varieties of tshirts aren't terribly impressive compared to 15 radically different sweater, suit, poncho, and other clothing options that fit the same chest section.

This is a good point. I'd probably want the Devs of CoT to lean towards providing as many "different types" of costume items as possible rather than having a huge variety of any given thing.

To use your tshirt example the "hard part" is likely coming with the first tshirt; once they have that in place it would likely be relatively easy to create 97 other variant tshirts. But I'd rather them start off with say only 3 or 4 tshirts in favor of prioritizing having 3 or 4 dress shirts, 3 or 4 sweaters and 3 or 4 tank tops as well instead of just 97 tshirts. There would be plenty of time after launch for them to churn out like 95 other tshirts. ;)

At least with the T-shirt

At least with the T-shirt thing if you can place emblems anywhere then they don't need to come up with more shirts, just more things you can put on them.

I suppose a few extra styles and basic patterns on them wouldn't go amiss either.

But I'm with the opinion of having a large variety of different stuff even if there's not as much variety within those stuff.

Hmm. Hopefully various patterns and materials won't care what item you're trying to apply them to. That way if say they had 20 patterns and 4 different t-shirt styles you'd end up with 80 different t-shirts you could make from just that. Add in emblems that you can place on them and you get even more options.

Good point.

Good point.

Another facet of varied content vs depth of choice in that content could come if they do embrace community sourced content at some point. Having the tougher stuff like different styles and pieces done by devs means that people can just submit designs, slogans, logos, emblems, and the like.

With the tshirt as an example again, it is super easy to make more tshirts based off one finished design. Leaving that to the community would work well and free up the artists to make more varied base costume pieces the community can work with.

edit: Hopefully I'm not straying TOO far off the course of the discussion but wouldn't it be fantastic if, on top of costume design, we could get themes for our characters? Especially if we could tie music / sound effects to emotes. Strike a heroic pose and have a suitably uplifting crescendo!

It would add a whole new level of aesthetic decoupling and customization if we could pick out sound effects for our powers and short bits of music or sound for our emotes.

It would be a fantastic fit for the cash shop too. People *LOVE* cosmetics like that.

I also really liked the idea CO had of designing a nemesis that showed up during missions, but I think that is even farther off the course of talking about costumes. Still kind of part of the character (at least part of their story) in a way?

It's all good - just need to have MWM get around to all these 4198 ideas sooner or later... lol

Come to think of it...

Come to think of it....instead of premade themes MWM could give us the ability to compose our own. Several games have done that. A variety of "instruments" that you can pick from to play notes within a range. Write whatever song you want with as many parts as you want (within reason). Assign it to emotes however you like. Instead of monetizing the songs themselves you monetize the instruments and number of songs you can store at a time and perhaps number of parts you can write into a song? You could still have premade songs too, not everyone will want to compose their own theme.

Weaponized musical

Weaponized musical instruments would be awesome, especially for a Sonic aesthetic.

Jukebox Hero: At range, you attack the enemy by rocking out on a guitar. In melee, you bash him over the head with it.

WUBZ: At range, you use a Dubstep Gun similar to the one used in Saints Row IV. For AoE, you summon a full-on DJ booth and blast the target area with dubstep.

Adjustable weight dumbbells

Adjustable weight dumbbells are not in the props list yet.

Requested because Cyclops posted this and Fireheart responded most appropriately.

Question about your request: If you have adjustable weight dumbbells, what happens to the extra weights that do not get attached to the dumbbell? Are they even rendered? If so aren't they animations and not props (since they would just sit on the ground and get left behind)?

I suspect you're probably over-thinking this particular situation. My guess is that Redlynne would be happy enough if we got props that looked more or less like her example pic (which by themselves look pretty cool and high-techy) without worrying about the "extra parts" that might or might not be attached to them at any given moment.

Being able to get a character model as a prop could be interesting.

The prop copies NPCs around it then you could have a wrestling animation set for like, massive melee. So when fighting a group of enemies it -looks- like you picked one up and then slammed them I to their friends.

Would get weird when fighting a solo creature however. Also has all the problems of mapping wrestling animations to character models of varying sizes.

The discussion in that thread was covering chakrams as both melee and throwing weapons. In fact I linked to a still pic of Tira several days ago in reference to that.

The irony of all this is that I figured the only reason you mentioned chakrams here is that we started talking about them over in that other thread. ;)

a walking cane as seen here.
This could make for a great non-combat prop, and for combat. It could use the same animation as a club, or a lead pipe. But something as elegant as a can might justify animations of its own.

Think of a sword cane. that could combine TWO animation streams.

I'd like superspeed punches.

I'd like superspeed punches. Tehcnically not a weapon, but for all of the melee styles, and maybe even a few ranged ones, I'd like a super speed aesthetic, like throwing multiple punches at rapid speed. Im sure there might be a set that will do it, but I would love to see that available over ALL melee sets (yes even super strength).

And for a non weapon prop - Id like winged sandals that flapped when you used flights or super speed.

If the animation made them take a little run up then smacked them it'd make tons of sense why it knocks them back.
