Aren't all humans already meathumans?
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
Perhaps...I can neither confirm or deny this. Even though the answer would indeed be yes. But then I'd just be confirming what I already said I can neither confirm or deny this question.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
How this for a bad teen idea?
I been toying with an idea I read in Marvel’s Earth X story. In Earth X the Hulk and Bruce Banner were separate but Banner was a kid and the Hulk was nearly mindless.
Play with that a little and how about a set of twins that when the Meta gen activated one became a hulking brute the other a weakling but very smart mutant.
The weak one be named Goblin thin and weak he rides on his brother’s back. No they won’t have a mental connection so he gives commands to his brother either verbally or physically.
The Brute is named Troll he’s large hulking mass of muscles. If left alone he might just sit down and dig in the dirt. Through concrete if he had to. Even if his IQ is low he can be very aggressive. More so if he thinks his brother is harmed or threatened.
Do we have a Brute type for the Scorpion Six yet?
If not them the other villain I got in my head is my Psychopath of a pixie. Thought I think she a bit too insane to work with others. Not to mention I for got her name I used in CoH.

Given some have posted coming out of school the first few posts I think school is still in.
For the “Brothers Grim” aka Goblin and Troll. Thinking on it there will be a mental link between the two. It’s one way to take them out. Separate them far enough and Troll will become unfocused and docile. Same with knocking Goblin out. He’s the weak point.
I’m game for starting the next chapter in this story the next day.

Someone, probably hybrid as they have the least interesting and probably most successful part of the mission, should do the role of narrator for the other's parts of the clue searching. That way we don't end up with clues that don't go together or what have you. And it's fine if people find nothing, a opportunity to RP and find out more about the characters is always it's own reward.

Xsel, I went ahead and started filling in some background on the "downtown case". BTW, the "Rijn" part of the "Van Rijn" name is pronounced "Rhine" like the river in Europe with all the castles and dragons hording the gold they got paid for building Valhalla.
Anyone have any ideas on what Rio and Kate will find at Rikki's?

Discarded keepsakes, like a phone and wallet? The ideas is that Keeling hires these guys to kidnap the kids, that’s it-they’re not professionals and they would no doubt leave something unintentionally to incriminate themselves, or show that there was a crime.
I also think that this could be where there is some action, like maybe a few thugs are sent to see why someone was looking into all the missing kid cases within the same week

Sorry I haven't been posting. Real life just thew my family a big one. My sister has cancer and after two operations they still haven't got it. full breast removal with Kemo and Radiation treatments. If she's lucky the last scan spotted something on her spine isn't cancer as well. If it is her chances drop below slim.
As you can guess I'm emotionally stressed out and zapped of creativity. Just my luck my character is a ray of sunshine and rainbows.

Got good news today. The cancer didn't spread to her bones like we feared. Still having her breast removed and getting fakes, chemo and radiation. It's considered good news given breast cancer easier to survive then if it got in her bones.

That was the assumption I had, but I don't know I could be wrong. I'll be honest and say I've refrained from posting since I'm not sure if I want to move forward to heading back to the Birdnest or try to follow up with the goons on the beach.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
Yeah, I could GM the clue finding and goons, but I was also thinking each pair could have/run their own little mini encounter?
General jist is clean up crews have been sent to make sure no leads get back to base...but of course these guys aren’t pros and they make mistakes.

I like to to have a GM-type person for NPC encounters, but that's just always been my personal preference.
If For is cool with putting heads together and running our own little goon encounter, I can certainly play along.

Name: Zoey Pearl
Alias: Selkie
Age: 15
Nationality: Unknown
Appearance: 5'9, light blue skin, her light blue hair is actually octopus like tentacles, slender human like body shape, body is subject to change from shapeshifting
Powers and Abilities: Capable of shapeshifting her body to have properties of living sea creatures. This makes it possible for her to regenerate lost limbs and heal up injuries quickly. And on occasion turn parts of her body like her hands into certain limbs of sea creatures such as octopus tentacles for arms and or legs, jellyfish stingers for arms, or an mermaid like tail for her lower body to swim with in water, protect her body with coral, and so on.
Bio: The sea is fraught with many dangers, supernatural or not. Selkie hails from a group of druids called The Tide Turners that specializes with helping sea creatures live out their natural lives. With the threat of out worldly Lovecraftian sea monsters threatening land dwellers and ocean dwellers Selkie turned her sites to the worlds metahuman capital, Titan City, to hopefully gain some allies and find some answers on how to combat the oncoming terrors of the deep.

This is my character concept so far. I haven't completely decided on her name and costume yet. Since you guys needed a tank of some sort I decided to provide. I didn't list it here but her weaknesses are obviously any fire based powers, metal based powers (unless she is given some time to change her body), sound based powers, and her body itself requires a lot of energy to shapeshift so she needs to eat a lot before battle. At the moment she can only shapeshift nearly her entire body twice during a battle.
Sure, what did you have in mind? I was thinking Kevin got pulled into an alley, tranqed, stuffed into a van, and then driven away...

Yikes! Late reply, didn't know Glady had posted something before me. I'm in the middle of taking a summer course myself at the moment, but I believe in the the IC thread that our characters (Diego and Arthur) are still at the beach deciding whether to engage the lackeys we spotted earlier. While a few others are back at Sparrow's hideout looking for a way to get in contact with either him or the rest of Gen T, or whatever our decided name was again.

Also, I kinda came up with Carmen Chemical Plant on the spot-I realize now that a plant would be more in the industrial district and not the warehouse one, but I hope otherwise it sounds okay?
I was thinking this is kinda the ‘first fight against the mooks and the big bad learns about our heroes’ encounter? I was thinking a group of around say 18 guys in total, and that these guys are helping move and transport kids to and from another location in Ironport.
Most are thugs and security, a few are either kidnapped doctors or nurses to help keep the kids alive and check vitals, otherwise there might just be a contracted underworld doc who works for Keeling, ala Armim Zola to the Red Skull.

I didn't know anyone but Hauntress and Starlight were at the base
Edit: I guess some more folks are there now. I meant before peeps ported in.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
Thoughts on having a low but team level villain in the warehouse in addition to the bad guys or just have thugs to deal with?
I was thinking that when the fighting starts, each member posts on how they deal with about 4 thugs in their own way, so everyone gets to shine (like the fights in the Avengers 1 and 2 vs cannon fodder or etc)
Thoughts?

I would like that. It's great to have individual character moments where everyone gets to show off. And I wouldn't be opposed to a team-level mini-boss in the warehouse either.
Also, Sparrow! Your team calls for you!
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
So for a team level mini boss, I was thinking a for hire low level goon who was simply hired for security-he May show up to be a thorn in the team’s side, especially if he gets humiliated being beaten by kid’s-compositely though I think his power level should match their’s working as a team
Like Cinderblock or Clayface vs the Teen Titans and Young Justice, to provide an example.
Ideas for a mega human hero like this? I was thinking someone Keeling kinda hired from the area, maybe someone who was a victim of Carmen Chemicals misuse, like a parasite like villain or enemy who can manifest different chemical effects?

Giant Frankenstein's monster looking thing named Monster Mash
Edit: Electric throwing plant monster named Power Plant
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
Hmmm, that actually could work-at least a Frankenstein monster like villain-maybe killed in an accident at Carmen Chemicals during a blackout and ignorance of safety protocol thanks to the boss, and was killed while attempting to restart the plant via guideline, accidentally electrocuted.
Powers are maybe super strength, electrical draining and charging-named Blackout?

Sounds like a mix of Electro from Spiderman and Overload from Teen Titans. I have another tank character concept that could be used.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Name: Faye Rosewald (presumably)
Alias: Sylph
Age: Estimated to be 16 or 17
Nationality: Unknown
Appearance: Snow white bark acts as skin, her hair is white tree branches, flowers, and leaves mimicking human hair leading straight down to her shoulders (she has also been seen with the ''hair'' positioning differently, presumably to mimic hairstyles), face appears humanoid but has no noticeable mouth (presumably could make one in the future) or nostrils, human like light blue eyes that look unusual and almost look like they are dotted with stars, tall and svelte/sylphlike. Her ''costume'' is an white regal looking cloak from an unknown origin.
Powers and Abilities: Due to her ''skin'' being comprised of bark she is very durable in general to most attacks. She can harden the bark for improved defense or soften it to resemble human skin texture wise. Due to her body and her control of it she is capable of morphing her hands into weapons such as blades, axes, spears, shields, and more. She can also ensnare enemies with her hands and even dig into the ground with her feet or hands to ensnare them. She is also known to be capable of to briefly ''submerge'' herself underground and ''reemerge'' a short distance away. How exactly she does this with ease despite not being able to see underground is not quite known. She is also capable of moving in ways a human can't due to not having and muscles or bones. Unknown if she can use plant thorns. Is capable of regenerating lost limbs but only over extended periods of time
Weaknesses: Fire and explosives are her presumed main weaknesses. Regeneration is slow and takes a lot of time if the damage is extensive.
Bio: For many decades if not centuries there exists urban legends of young women and men getting lost in the world's forests and not returning....or returning as changed beings. With the existence of metahumans, magic, and mythical powers these stories hit too close to home for one town. Historians deem that the explanation behind these myths is likely due to metahumans of older eras.
In the peaceful isolated town of Roseweald there exists an notable modern case of these random disappearances were an young teenage girl wandered into the woods to never return. It was said that her parents were botanists whom were researching alleged metahuman made plants overseas and one day never returned, thus leaving her in her home alone and thus losing the house she grew up in. Friends of her parents took her in and said she was a shy, quiet kid that spent a lot of her time reading books and taking care of local animals and plants. She went to this local beautiful forest very often when she was mourning or upset to feel closer to her parents again.
She never returned one day by nightfall and this sent the town of Roseweald into a panic. People presumed she was taken by an villain that moved into the forest, lost her way, or ran away entirely. When the local police looked into the incident they couldn't find any signs of a struggle nor any signs of her actually entering or leaving the forest. Roseweald is an isolated town known to have some anti-metahuman sympathizers due to being marauded by a traveling villain a decade or so before.
A month later an snow white humanlike tree creature was seen traveling through neighboring towns of Roseweald, heading to the direction of Titan City. This presumably new metahuman or mythical being was initially met with fear but the sightings reported that the femininely shaped tree being was hero inclined, noticeable thwarting several muggings, saving civilians, and ensnaring an stolen car driven by a wanted criminal in a police chase. Because a noticeable lack of mouth on this being oral contact was minimal and it was noted that she was possibly mute. Local news of various different towns codenamed her as Dryad, Ethereal, and Sylph separately. It's unknown which name she prefers due to her not voicing words on the matter and her tendacy to shy away from media attention. Supposedly via an message that was left behind in one of the towns etched in dirt she preferred the name Sylph (unknown if it actually was Sylph or an cape geek looking for attention)
Sylph has been sited in Titan City and has been observed fighting street level criminals and metahumans. The link to her possibly being the missing girl of Roseweald has been speculated on but Titan City's police backlog is too high currently to properly look into the matter.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
You guys can use her or Selkie if you want. I had this idea stuck in my head for awhile so I had to get it out. She could gain more abilities overtime as she is intended to be an dryad or forest spirit of some sort. I used the name Sylph because Sylph's origin words were speculated to be silvestris (heavily forest related) and nymph (also natured related). I left out what exactly happened to her open to interpretation in purpose as I think I'd want to reveal that in her interactions with other characters. This character is a bit more fleshed out than Selkie because Selkie is actually a very recent idea while this character is actually an old idea that I just never got onto paper until now.
Sylph's physical appearance and idea was based on this character from the indie game Hollow Knight, her name is the White Lady and I love her visual design
She is also inspired by Swamp Thing (atleast on how he fights in Injustice 2) and the Sylvari from Guild Wars 2 (her hair is visually an mix of the White Lady's branches and Sylvari ''hair'', she also could look like one if she so chooses).
Were you offering Sylph or Selkie as potential team members or allies or as villains?
I wouldn’t mind seeing either Selkie or Slyph(I personally like Dryad though) join the team eventually
I think I may do Blackout as a geo or do something easy and just elevate a thug and give him some powers.

I was offering either which as they can serve as a tank or bruiser role for the hero team. I can use the name Dryad. I intentionally left the idea in-story that her name claim may of actually been by a cape fan in purpose as I was not too sure what to name her myself.
I was going to initially name her Sylvan but I recall seeing another character around these parts named that so I didn't feel comfortable with using that as a name. I am really picky on names so those three were my top picks.
Hmmm, well it does seem we have a healer, two powrered melee fighters, a enhanced badass martial artist, a regular badass martial artist with gadgets, and no tank or bruiser I don’t think.
So I’m terms of team role and rping potential either work, I do like both their origins tbh, but I like Selkie’s especially fue to the potential environmental utility (water) and potential for stories with her background (Not that Dryad or Sylph doesn’t have that).
Off the top of my head, the villains and thugs have been working out of Carmen Chemicals for awhile, I imagine the waste from experiments and potentially a few bodies being dropped in the water around Ironport could attract Zoey’s attention.

Hmmm that could work, Selkie would be concerned about ocean contaminants as some of the monsters in the ocean were mutations from contaminants or local creatures driven mad.
Dumping bodies into rivers full of fish has also been said to have an effect on catfish specifically were catfish in certain areas of the world have gotten bigger supposedly cause they ate bodies of people that died for whatever reason that were dumped in their lakes (or where drowning victims).
I could possibly do both at the same time, my only worry for that is I might not get their individual personalities down as well.
I would go with Selkie first, since the possibility is more concrete with her being notified, but that’s just me.
There would be two bodies in the area around the plant, one who was potentially the missing plant operator of Carmen Chemicals, Henry Stroud, who looked to be electrocuted to death, evident by his body burns, and the second is a teenager, with a simple gunshot wound.
Stroud’s body has been their longer, and he has been reported missing since the plant’s closure.
If run up in a database, his name would come back as Richard Meeks, an awkward and shy boy kidnapped from Downtown around the same time of the other kidnappings.
__________
Blackout is a mix of Parasite from DC and Morbious the Energy Vampire from Marvel, in that a former worker, was mutated in a electron heavy chemical accident, and after a cover up, took revenge on his former employers, before going underground as a villain.
He was hired by Keeling as a local villain to oversee security operations. His powers are electrically charged melee and feats of mid level super strength (think Bane), and the ability to conduct or absorb electricity, this extending to the electricity in human beings.
Any complaints about the villain?

Gotcha! Didn't account for Selkie (my mind was blanking on names mid-post). As for Blackout, you got no complaints from me. He sounds like he'll be a fun baddie to face. Wouldn't be surprised if he was to turn out as a regular run-in for the Team as well.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
As far as the kid in the cryogenic box, I was thinking it could be one of the more recent missing ones?
Keeling would try to induce powers or something, so I’ll leave that up to you guys to decide what they receive.
I had a side plan for the kids with powers to maybe form an auxiliary team for Gen T, as gratitude for being saved maybe?

I think it could work that it would be one of the recent kids. Just to keep it from being that Gen T is still chasing after people and information that is several weeks old.
The thought of an auxiliary team would be a neat idea. Do you think that it would be something more along the lines of the Runaways from Marvel or even the Runaways from DC's Young Justice show (if you have seen it that is). Or hell maybe even a bit of the X-Men probably, just they aren't mutants?
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
Yeah I was thinking along the lines of the Outsiders or Runaways, with them being separate but affiliated.
And feel free to rp our and customize your captive/potential hero, not everyone makes it through the process though so that would be interesting to see as well-not to mention, Keeling empowerers them based on what he interprets their wants and desires, or personality, making them more likely to serve him, he thinks.
Like a twisted father or creator with a chemistry set.

I think I already have a slight idea for my potential captive hero for this loosely-affiliated group of Gen T.
As for Keeling, he definitely strikes me as that guy who's going to have this long history with the team. Probably to the point of where you just can't get rid of him, even when you think you have. He's more-or-less that kid that got a novelty chemistry set for Christmas and actually managed to create some sort of newfound life with it.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
Could this be an opportunity to introduce my Little Monster idea?
Perhaps, Hybrid. I would wait though, so we don’t clutter up the narrative here with too many threads to tie.
Yeah, I see Keeling as kinda a constant nemesis for the team, a source of trouble and someone who despite their frequency, always remains dangerous.
He may even create a dark mirror of the team one day, or enhance himself and get his own hands dirty maybe.
And for appearance and voice, think Alexander Pierce or Robert Redford from the Winter Solider

So as far as game plan, everyone can do a post dealing with their four thugs so they get to shine, and have their moment.
Once the kid is portaled out, I imagine to the base, they move in on Blackout (who they don’t know is here yet).
Sound good?

I hope I’m doing a decent job of GMing this btw, if you can call it that? I feel like most posts are rushed

You're doing a good job from what I have seen. Just tell me when I should introduce Selkie.
Also a quick update to her profile

Selkie hails from a group of druids called The Abyss Walkers that specializes with helping sea creatures live out their natural lives and holding back the nastiest dangers from the sea as much as possible. With the threat of out worldly Lovecraftian sea monsters, mutated sea monsters, and malicious fish men land dwellers and ocean dwellers are under siege. Selkie set her sites to the worlds metahuman capital, Titan City, and proposed the idea of venturing in it to hopefully gain some allies and find some answers on how to combat the oncoming terrors of the deep.
The sea druids known as The Abyss Walkers is an ancient coven split off from another ancient human druidic group named The Verdence. Over time the Abyss Walkers have identified themselves as the sea guardians of humanity and of natural sea creatures. The Abyss Walkers have been protecting humanity and natural creatures from dangerous mythical sea creatures, malicious sapient sea creatures, and deep sea eldritch monsters in secret for centuries. The Abyss Walkers can't be everywhere and save everybody but they can try. Abyss Walkers are a varied group of druids that display various different abilities born from the sea. The Abyss Walkers have shared many concerns with The Verdence with how modern day land society treats nature including the sea. Reports of once peaceful sea creatures driven mad from toxic wastes and contaminants or mutating into more dangerous and malicious forms has stacked up the odds against them. The eldritch monsters that dwell in the deepest trenches of the seas never let up with their attacks and have taken these new dangerous monsters as openings to make themselves known, or even monsters to ally themselves with or use as pawns for greater plans.
Zoey Pearl has known nothing else but the Abyss Walkers and their duty they take to protect natural life to the best of their abilities. Nautilus, an hero of old and the presumed leader of The Abyss Walkers, accepted her mission of making new allies to help the fight against the monsters of the Abyssal Depths and urged her to make some friends. The life of an Abyss Walker lives is a lonely one.

I just added more story behind the group she's from, their purpose, and how long they have existed. I changed their name from ''The Tide Turners'' to ''The Abyss Walkers'' because I find the name more fitting for a group that is fighting off sea monsters, deep sea eldritch monsters, fishmen, and other malicious mythical or sapient sea peoples.
Also something to note that I did not include here as it wasn't relevant to her bio. The Abyss Walkers due to the nature of their job can and have gone rogue and have gotten killed and changed into enemies by the eldritch beings in the line of duty. I have an idea for an villain that was a former Abyss Walker. He was killed during an defense gone wrong. He's an idea though that doesn't fit the current RP situation so he'll just rest in my work in progress concepts.
I go to sleep for the night and there's like 30 new posts between this thread and the IC thread. Phew.
In the IC thread did folks just like, mobilize without waiting for Hauntress to get back?
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
Oh and also, incase peeps need a better idea of what Selkie looks like. Appearance wise she is based off of Marina from Nintendo's Splatoon 2 game. Here is an picture of her.

Zoey looks similar but only with an light blue skin tone and ''hair''. Her costume is all coral formed into a dark blue skin tight suit. Think Atlantean armor or clothing
Splatoon!
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
Yeah, I love Marina's design from Splatoon 2. Great game, just wish the console it was on wasn't so expensive for me right now.
