Hey guys! Project_Hero and I were discussing ways that the team of teenaged heroes in Hybrid’s Teen Hero thread could meet eachother’s, hence this OOC thread.
We wanted to ask for some ideas on what kind of scenario would you like to have our characters meet via forums RP~
Any thoughts?

Name pending should be the name of the super group.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
‘We’re working on it guys! Not everyone likes labels!’

"Aww butter! Look out guys, its Name Pending! Get ready, these is going to be fun!" - Generic thug #1
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
"Oh no! It's... A bunch of kids? Who are you guys?"
"We're working on it!"
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
"We're the...Hotshots...? Fabulous Five? What he said! We're working on it!"
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
Anyway, I was suggesting in PMs with Gladatoria that the team up could have our heroes be tracking missing teenagers.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
I also suggested that they band together by accident fighting a villain they can’t take down all on their own, or perhaps a plot involving one of them in distress, a la Starfire being rekidnapped by aliens which banded the Teen Titans (as we knew them) together in DC for example.

That actually wouldn't be bad. I imagine the premise of this would be a string of teens all mysteriously going missing within the same week/time frame?
Edit: Just got to see Gladatoria's post only just after I made my post.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
Exactly, it could be friends, family, or just something that concerns the heroes.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
Teens could be taken from their respective neighborhoods/haunts, and maybe at first they step over eachother’s toes regarding how to rescue them given their own unique powers and styles?

Maybe it can be a bit of both too. A series of teens going missing, hell all these kids and the heroes could even attend the same school. Our heroes note these disappearances and decide to do some investigating which leads to them crossing paths and joining together to stop some big bad who was responsible for abducting the kids in the first place.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
I figure the set up would be something like "Teens have been going missing of late. You've been on the trail of the missing teens and your investigation has lead you here, to a warehouse by the docks..."
And then all the heroes who will be participating enter the scene in whatever way they do and we go mostly freeform from there.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
My character is homeless and doesn't go to school, so that part doesn't work for me.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
Maybe this can also set up the group's central villain per se, if there is a plan on having on? Like maybe these teens were runaways, people wouldn't be missed and made the test subjects for some sorts of experiments even?
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
Right, right. That details keeps making it's way over my head.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
I feel like this would be the best set up for the scene that allows us to do what we want with our characters regarding how they approach a crime like this
As for a villain, perhaps a rogue Scorpion scientists or one of the rumored Vril alien/nazis?

The experiment idea is neat. Then some future team members can come from this event.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
I'd prefer to have an original villain that way they probably won't conflict with any future lore. Hmm. I could offer/use my Deathstroke the Terminator homage: Gauntlet for this. Possibly acting as a guard for a mad scientist type.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
I agree with you on this point here. Especially since it could also maybe even serve as the final part of the event, probably where the "Boss" or "Sub-Boss" is probably trafficking people from Titan City to another location
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
^^Exactly, with this providing an open-ended narrative it'll serve best for some people who may have a hard time nailing down an origin for their character(s).
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
The original villain would also be a safer card to play than with lore for the time being at least. Don't think we want to tangle with such supreme foes like Scorpion just -yet-.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
I didn't think of the idea that the warehouse or whatever building it is might just be a stop off, or that they could be trafficking people.
Maybe having that and then leaving the who's doing it, and where the teens were sent open for another rp thread or an ongoing in game rp story.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
That’s a good point-tell is more about Gauntlet?

Gotcha. Sorry I'm kinda scrambling to get my posts out. With it being just the three of us at the time being, this thread is getting updated so quickly lol.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
I have a villain too that I wouldn't mind using, he is even in the young age range. His name is SmokedouTT and I have his bio posted and everything.
--Formerly Jorortis--
Note: Jorortis is still a character of mine and is still going to be in the super group, not Demirus, at least not yet...
I feel like one villain might be enough for this thread, seeing as the guy we will be fighting may very well not even be the main ‘big bad’ pulling the strings so to speak.

Gauntlet is an assassin first and foremost. But can take other mercenary work if the pay is right.
He utilizes whatever weapons he can get his hands on, prefering dual swords, guns, and his own bare hands.
A skilled martial artist, and utilizes state of the art technology and some cybernetics. Has subdermal armor, has had his bones replaced with steel/some other stronger metal, and has nanobots in his blood that help speed up his healing.
On top of that he wears high tech armor and has targeting equipment in the helmet he wears.
He also has trained an apprentice, another character of mine, who doesn't work with their former master.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
Is he someone the team could handle if they work together? He sounds pretty formidable, and as an assassin first and foremost dying could suck lol

Yup, that's our Deathstroke right there. Dude's packing everything he needs to go up against a meta.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
For heroes outside the school system, just have them stumble into the in progress investigation following a tip/clue.
Heroes get remembered, but Legends never die.
Protect the pack kid, no matter how much it hurts. If everyone else in the pack is safe, you can carry on or die knowing you've done your duty. - Fanfiction
That's when you live by the Runaway battle cry "Try not to die."
But yeah, especially because if he's capturing teens or at least being security for such a thing, hey more teens showed up. Subdue them and put them on the boat, truck, plane, whatever.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
Maybe it's not just kids from that school. Maybe street kids too have been abducted.

My wonder now, is for what purpose are they being abducted?

That is a good question isn't it? Maybe in time our heroes can find out.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
Right, I mean for now it can just go unanswered until something OOC-wise is probably decided upon. But for now it can just be simple abductions for the time being.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
As far as a boss at the end of all of this, I also like the idea of facing a kind of scientist who uses advanced tech to be a threat too, but the Deathstroke like villain has a certain appeal.
I don’t want to come off as too ‘Teen Titans’-like though is my only worry

This would largely depend on Project_Hero, but if it's possible we could always face Gauntlet at a later date and have the scientist guy be the boss for this section of the event. Just to avoid the Teen Titans vibe.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
A good evil scientist needs a good evil scientist name.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
Dr. Victor Vun Leebershpootz
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
He could have a nickname like maybe ‘Dr. Perfect’ due to his ability to create (or in his case attempt) to create metahumans and powered people, often with a price however?
Like Mr. Sinister but a actual human man, who is roughly in his 60’s but is intelligent evil incarnate?

Teleios(sp?) is Greek for Perfection, but it's used by CO for their narcissistic mad scientist.
Working on a portalist concept. Blame Duran Duran for her civilian ID: Her name is Rio Grant. Do we already have a portalist?

The Perfectionist would be better than Dr. Perfect, I feel.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
We don't have a portalist yet and as for the name of this scientist, as much as I would love to have Teleios as the name I guess we will have to settle on the Perfectionist unless there are other name suggestions?
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
I like the Perfectionist, and if not that we could use a villain who is like Parasite from Superman comics-who can leech energy and powers with prolonged touch, and perhaps needs kids for youth?

Sort of like the Vulture. Stealing youth is a good angle.
Edit: Could call it The Leech.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
The name that comes to mind for a character like that is The Siphoner.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
Siphon is a stronger name than siphoner.
Edit: if tech based could be Download
Dr. Leeche (swears it's pronounced Leash)
Maybe a name based on something outdated that was hip once like Mad Mod (Teen Titans Villain)
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
Whoa, It actually does. Blegh, this is what happens when you have the name for an old PC in your head called, The Psiphoner.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
Other name suggestions for am old man villain who can steal youth/powers
Nostalgia (Nostalgia rears his ugly head again!)
... Dang I thought I had more.

"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
What about Vitality? I was thinking Doctor Vitality or something, but decided to chop off the Doctor part. Lol.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
Dang, I feel bad for missing the first 50 posts because I was napping. Anyways, the idea I had was the Sparrow seeks out teenage heroes like him after getting fired from being Blackbird's sidekick over an argument. That could be the start. He arrives in Titan City with these dreams in mind. How they meet, well that's what we'll discuss here.
Sparrow pulling a Nick Fury? "I'm assembling a team..."
If we go this route then I like the idea that Hauntress wasn't originally considered. Being a relatively new hero and not showing up on cameras (not that she'd stick around for them anyway) most would probably think she doesn't exist. Just some rumor, or new urban myth, just a ghost story.
I just like the idea of her just kind of stumbling into a gathering of heroes if we do it this way.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
So, what's the roster for this team so far? Right now the ones I can remember that were specifically are:
Sparrow
Hauntress
Nagual
Scarlet Striker
Malevolent Twilight
Is there a limit to how many people can be part of a team? Or can we be like the Justice League and have over 40 simultaneous members? The latter would be pretty cool especially as teams get rep and then status.
AFAIK there hasn't been a confirmed upper limit yet.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
I would like to join Trifecta in if there is room for a hero with no real powers other then serums that he has to inject.
--Formerly Jorortis--
Note: Jorortis is still a character of mine and is still going to be in the super group, not Demirus, at least not yet...
Yeah, of course. Having powers isn't a prerequisite for being a member. That would be odd considering the founder Sparrow has no powers himself.
As long as they're not also a Robin homage. Remember the Teen Titans has had Robin and Speedy on the same team. Those two were in fact the founding members with Aqualad. Wonder Girl joining later.
Edit: The injecting serums is the thing I'm a bit off on. Would this be something the hero keeps secret or not?
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
Starting off small could be nice, as a large team from the get-go could present problems as not everyone may get an equal amount of ‘spotlight’ so to speak in RP arcs, and I’ve seen some teams become places for alts to rest and past a certain point, the team can lose it’s focus.
So starting off with a core six or seven sounds best to me.

Right, plus the idea from what I understand is that group would've only just recently formed by the start of CoT. Wouldn't make sense to have a ridiculous scope of characters in the span of what could've been months or even weeks.
Also not saying it should be closed recruitment or anything, but it would be best to focus on a smaller cast of characters first. See how everyone adjusts both in-character and out-of-character and then ease in new members in the coming days or so.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
It's one of those deals where it is specially formatted for his DNA, So while he doesn't just flaunt it, it's not something he keeps under wraps, I didn't mean to say injectable either, I mean as a Teen, he drinks it before missions and it lasts for 10-24 hours depending on how much he drinks. It's not until he gets older that he developed an auto eject system, similar to Banes Venom.

So then the updated team roster (so far) is now:
Sparrow
Broach
Hauntress
Nagual
Trifecta
Scarlet Striker
Malevolent Twilight
Bringing it to seven characters, I'll say this looks to be forming up quite nicely.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
Who is Broach? I checked the team name thread and your character conclave and didn't see them mentioned.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
If you are going with the experiment approach idea for this with a Deathstroke/Slade expy as the main villain you could also make it so in the case of the teenagers that were abducted and assumably given superpowers to combat your heroes that the reason why the teenagers are fighting the heroes is simply because they are forced to out of blackmail.
Slade in one episode of Teen Titans forced Robin into being his apprentice/sidekick/criminal in the making via implanting nanobots into the other Titans bloodstream. He basically used their lives as blackmail. You can do something similar with the kids that got kidnapped. Have them with shock collars on that would kill them if they step out of line, their families threatened, etc.
The Heroes obviously would have to figure out how to stop the threat of the blackmail, let alone realize it exists (if you want to make it ambiguous at first). The captured kids can be the heroes own H.I.V.E Five if anyone remembers them from Teen Titans (one of them became a hero near the end of that show).
This could also be a good reason he goes after kids. Children who are just coming into power so the gens are still unstable. Able to be altered, where older Meta's or Powered have their power more Locked in.

There were a few RP attempts to have Teen-focused Rp groups. There was the High School and a Supergroup in a Tower. Both RP kind of fizzled.
Often RP boils down to just a few handful of Forum Rpers. I and Foradain are regulars and sadly I'm losing heart in Rp when it just Two or Three people. We might Rp different characters but it starting to be the same dance.
That said if this does become more then just a small group I'm willing to throw in one of my characters.
My Teenage characters are...
1.) Mar the Spider, He would need a Hero name but he began life as a normal spider that was altered and became humanoid. The reverse of Spiderman in a way. Looks to be the age of 14 black haired dark blue eyes tan brown skin. More Spider in thinking he has enhanced vision (Ultra Violet and Inferred). Enhanced strength, reflexes, endurance, and agility. He has enhanced spatial awareness even if he not looking at something he often detects things around him. He can climb walls and has biological web shooters in his arms. Personality wise he's nieve very trusting and childlike, but can often show a preditor's instincts. Note I haven't given the scientists that changed him a name.
2.) Starlight. An alien life form who appears as a gold glowing humanoid shape. The offspring of another Alien life form of mine named Unknown. Unlike her parent figure Starlight has empathic abilities. Telepathic, and can manipulate flesh of those she touches used for healing and minor boosts in abilities. She loves life in all its forms. Her secret Identity is Crystal Rose daughter of Selandra Rose. In her human guise she a blond 15-year-old girl, the only sign she's not human is the fact she has trouble with eye color they appear as gold orbs. So she often has on tinted glasses or shades.
3.) Figment. This is one not fully developed and having a chance to develop him more will be fun. An average 17-year-old brown hair brown eyes white there very little to make him stand out. On both, his wrists are devices looking like smart watches but they are power dampeners. Figment has to much power for his own good uncontrolled use could kill him. His power is creating figments of his imagination into reality. The limits are only what he can imagine and how much of his life force is he willing to give up to power said Figment. When he was 14 his power activated and he created a full-grown fire-breathing dragon. That creation burnt down his house and put him in a coma from the drain on his own body. From then on he had the power dampeners on. He can control how much "power" they restrict him. Even at maximum he still often has a Tinkerbell like Pixie flying about. For in-game mechanics think of his powers as strong Illusions, in truth that what they are just I haven't figured out what the limits are. Another way of thinking of his powers is Green Lantern Power ring where he's the power battery. The Constructs, in this case, will be affected by his subconscious so seem to have minds of their own.

Out of those ideas, RottenLuck, I think I like Starlight best.
The spidery one is really strange, and the illusion user steps on Hauntress's toes a bit powerwise. In game at least she'll be a illusion controller, but her powers do tend to make people see things that may not be real.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
I also like the idea of Starlight, Rotten, but could also enjoy the idea of playing with Figment, as I like the approach to what can be an OP set of powers done well.
As far as forum to, I used to be a regular, but mainaing multiple RP’s while juggling RL and college specifically became difficult and I kinda more or less stopped in order to focus on school~
So here is to hopping that through a bit more activity I can be as active as I was again.
Broach sounds good Foradain-I was about to say if we don’t have a speedster, having someone with transportation based powers in some form could be useful~

I've never done forum RP before. All my RP has been in either chatrooms (aeons ago) or in games.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
Forum RP is fun, and can be just as engaging as in game or in a chat room, there or course simply needs to be a aura of mutual respect and typically a OOC thread for the said rpers to communicate, like this one.

I've done some forum RP myself, it's okay for the most part. Albeit it isn't exactly my cup of tea per se, but it is the best alternative when not wanting or being (un)able to log into game.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
Should we create a ic RP thread for this group then to start the RP?

I have done forum RP before. It can be fun but sometimes you can run into odd RPers that seem to really dislike your characters (but only show it in the RP) or peeps whom change the plot significantly with their own characters (accidentally or not).
Yeah-it all depends on the quality/experience of the RPers and the management of IC vs OOC

I bring in Starlight I haven't Rped her before. She can be the group healer. Perhaps I throw in flight in her power set as a means of transport. Just remember her healing is touched based she not generating an aura of healing. She more manipulating her target's body.
More detailed is that she a mass of crystal based lifeforms working as a collective. She uses the microbes life she made of and infects a person but she kills the microbes soon after so not to cause long-term problems.
Think of her as the Venom Symbiote or INK from Batman Beyond in terms of her body. Her Parent Selandra "Unknown" Rose is just like INK. Crystal, on the other hand, is an offshoot caused by RP situation lol.

Personal rules of good roleplay
1.) Nothing goes as planned.
2.) If it goes as planned it's not good RP
Yeah, I have seen good RP go south very fast by Out of Character drama. As well as the opposite where the IC mix just didn't work. I have Rped with people I liked but hated their character as well as Loved a character and hated the Rper. Thought that can happen in any RP format be it Forum, Chat, Larp, or game.
In a forum, you have to respect others and follow a few basics.
Don't play other people character's it's very easy to type "Punches Otherguy in the face" Doing so means you aren't giving Otherguy a chance to defend himself.
The more descriptive you are the better but it can go into too much detail. No one needs to know that we can see your character's nose hairs!
Don't be a GOD! Accept being hit, accept being imperfect, or another way Don't be a Mary/Gary Sue. There are no unstoppable characters even Superman has the weakness to Magic and Kryptonite.
Last and most important don't get stressed out if things go sideways. A good group doesn't always follow a set path or pattern we test boundaries and any story should test the players. As my signature says...

I might be interested in this. It is something I never did quite get to roleplay in Coh.
Yeah there is totally room for two more I believe-general idea for the characters are grounded, true blue (ultimately) teenage superheroes, who operate on the street/local level to start, organized by The Hybrid’s character Sparrow, a la Young Justice without having adults control or otherwise direct them

Late response but I'm sure there definitely is room for two more heroes in this teen superteam. Really hope a name is decided upon soon though since between two threads regarding this team has garnered a lot of attention.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
The lack of adult supervision and/or assistance is a double edged sword. On the one hand the characters aren't anyone's sidekicks (anymore in some cases) but on the other they have to set up shop all on their own.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
Agreed, but it does leave room for them to be sponsored by potentially existing teams in the Titanverse or corporations and forge their own path, so to speak.

So Question are we going to do some Forum RP or wait till the game is playable to have our Characters Interact.
I'm still trying to think of Starlight's offensive abilities and might just wait for the Avatar Creator or the Game to see what we can really do to finalize her powers.
As for the young hero thing. Starlight's parent is so not a Hero type to look up to more along the lines of the Punisher. Will be an interesting development to RP!

I was looking at bringing in either my hydrokineticist Nereid or my geokineticist Rampart, but if this is going to be a street team, do our heroes need to be of a lower power level?
Putting yourself in another persons shoes emotionally is something that everyone has to experience eventually. It's part of learning to be a human being. Roleplayers do it for fun.
I'm sure lower power level is recommended, but there can be room for people who are of a somewhat higher power level. Just as long as everyone can get their moment to shine during certain RP interaction(s).
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
I have a few thoughts about dealing with power levels and such when it comes to RP which (in theory) would allow everyone a chance to shine at their particular thing. Though unsure how it would hold up in use or in all types of conflicts.
