At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

Nope. Snow starting tonight. 5 - 10 cm. Started snowing earlier than predicted, so I'm betting on 10.

Remember, there are Canadians

Remember, there are Canadians and Europeans working on this as well. In Canada, Thanksgiving is coming up this weekend. And then Halloween a couple of weeks later. So not a lot of work at that end. Then in November is Remembrance Day on the 11th and the American Thanksgiving is Nov. 22nd.
Not sure about European holidays and they mostly dependent on country as well.

Timing is everything. Glad I'm not their Project Manager. I can already feel a migraine starting.

Living in Central Florida we tend to count Winter as 12 days where the temperature gets close to freezing if you're lucky before Summer sets in. BTW, our "Summer" pretty much accounts for the rest of the days of the year... ;)

This is true...I am also from countdown county. There is a week of winter if you're lucky...which means wearing a long sleeve shirt instead of a tank top to school, and then 11 months and 3 weeks of sweating in shade on a cloudy day. Of course, CF is also one of the most active places in the world for lightning strikes so you get used to hearing the giant's play.

I was actually in Scotland this summer and the news constantly sounded like chicken little. "People are fainting in the streets! It is the end of the world!". It was 80f.

Granted, that kind of temperature is not normal for Scotland, but I found it pretty funny.

I thought we were working on Florida time which meant Autumn doesn't happen until somewhere in late December. Winter is about a week or so in February, and Spring is just kind of a side thought to Summer.

We're lucky in Florida if it gets down to 80°F as a low in the dead calm of morning for much of the year. Our news people only start sounding the "chicken little" warnings whenever there's the slight chance we ever get weather that could cause freezes for a few hours. That's when my fellow idiot neighbors start breaking out the thick ski jackets and arctic survival gear like it's instantly Ice Station Zebra. :)

All kidding aside I heard a bunch of people were having "heat stroke" problems in Japan this year similar to what you were talking about in Scotland. Good thing all that global warming stuff is a hoax...

24 hours have passed and we are currently at 21.5 cm (8.5 inches). Snow to end sometime tonight.
I think fall lasted all of 2 weeks this year. Not a new record as we had this kind of snowfall in the first week of September last year.

I used to say that about the central Rockies in Colorado. I lived there for 3 years and it never got over 65F.

That's how it is dude, as much as I agree with you of all this, it's how people work. Some are going to be rude as a duck or something. I do get your point, no one should make statements about CoT when it's still on progress and is on it's path to place a release like Avatar Builder and Issue #0 (which is great) but people like them are just a typical bystanders (or more) that likes to comment things because it's how it works. Sadly, but all we can do is keep on moving til we able to make the game come true. That's the goal.

Guess I was wrong. Not even a note in the banner to their fans saying no update. Communication is terrible. Especially this close to the supposed Issue 0 release. And the fact that it only takes a few seconds to write something on a banner. And this is the their own timeline that they gave the fans for when to expect updates. It's so unprofessional.

If MWM doesn't release the update, it's probably because they can't. Otherwise, i'm sure they had published it as soon as they could.
However, we had a great picture on the MWM's instagram & Facebookpage and i think they tease us ^^ (It's an example of clipping and aura in the CC. Click it to see the video on MWM instagram)

I was hoping for the middle

I was hoping for the middle of October for Issue 0... it kind of made sense, avoiding all the major holidays.

But since that didn't happen, I'm now cautiously hoping for Halloween. I mean, Issue 0 is all about costumes, right?

Other than that, I got nothin'.

But while we're on the subject, sign me up for a waffle cone too.

While i like that idea too, I've been running under the assumption for a long time now that they'll be pushing the date for releasing the CC as far back in the year as possible. while I'd like it very soon, I don't expect it before december.

An infinite number of tries doesn't mean that any one of those tries will succeed. I could flip an infinite number of pennies an infinite number of times and, barring genuine randomness, they will never come up "Waffles".

I still don't expect it this

I still don't expect it this year. It would be nice if it happened but so many things can go wrong and 'by end of year' is pretty vague. If it's true the devs are silent on the forums because they're all working overtime, then all it takes is 1 with a family emergency or getting sick to delay it.

I really wouldn't be

I really wouldn't be expecting them to put in more time into the chargen now than they were before...especially with holidays every month. They likely have the 'roadmap' planned out since they announced Fall 2018, whenever that initially was in 2016 or 2017, so that they wouldn't have to crunch at the end. I'd guess that if they have to put in overtime to get it done it probably won't be done this year; rushing a project like this never works out how hoped. I'm sure it's close, and awesome, but they've had so many delays (like any dev team of every game) that another one now wouldn't be surprising.

EDIT: Also, I'm still trying to figure out if the lack of big updates is good or bad news. It can really go either way; either they are focusing so much on the chargen that they don't want to release big updates for other parts of the game (like combat, world map, etc), or there is nothing worth sharing. I hope that it's just because they don't want to take the focus away from the chargen, which has been the only hype lately. I'd put my bet on that but...who knows.

At this point they may be scheduling big updates around the holidays. So we may get an update around the end of the month (potentially even Halloween themed) and they may save the one that's been due the past 8+ weeks for Thanksgiving.

On the 'Special Alert: NYCC! Character Customizer! Meet the cabbit!' forum warcabbit said (about an hour and 20 minutes before your post):

warcabbit wrote:

Hey, guys, I was waiting for the backers who got their hands on Chargen to write an independent post. They don't seem to have gotten around to it, so, well, I'd write one for monday but that'd... well, we got something scheduled for Thursday, so the next spot after that?

So that means the screenshot that was shared on social media was the update for last week. And the next update should be Thursday of next week. And the next one after that will be more character screenshots.

Compulsively clicking the refresh button until the next update.

There's updates and there's

There's updates and there's the release of graphics. For a very long time, there wasn't really a difference, because there wasn't enough to do both. Now there is.

So while we were getting the house back in order after all the repo madness, we compensated with graphic releases on the social media channels (that will of course get their collective post here for pure forumites at some point). Dark Cleric confused a tweet confirming there would be a new graphic the following week (somebody asked for more) as referring to an update.

Well we've just about gotten things back in order, and expect to release a very nice update this coming Thursday, unless lightning strikes the colo where our servers reside (which almost seems like a logical turn of events by now). You might say at some point we got leery about promising where we were anymore on this. When things really get nuts, we try to avoid the opportunity to put our foot in our mouths.

you can write state income taxes as a deduction off of your federal. You cannot do the same with sales tax.

I don't know. I think Alabama might claim the distinction of being the last to legalize it. We'll at least be neck and neck, at any rate.

Similarly, I don't have any desire to "partake". Partly because of my job. As a forensic scientist who specializes in analysis of controlled substances, I regularly see the kind of microscopic stuff which lives and crawls in weed. Also, because I've talked to enough old hippies, I don't see any reason to accelerate any dementia I develop.
Even if I wanted to, there's no way my department would be okay with us using it. Unlike alcohol, which clears out of your system in hours, THC can remain in your system, in a metabolically active form, for up to a month.

Although legalization will cut my workload in half, so I do have a stake in the issue!

I've run the numbers both ways several times (I occasionally get job offers to move from Florida to other states that impose state income taxes) and all I know is that I save thousands per year by staying here and paying my non-deductible sales tax. YMMV of course.

P.S. There's a reason all the Snowbirds (what we call the older folks who either permanently move to Florida to retire or spend their winters here) come to Florida and it's not just for the weather. ;)

Yeah for me it's just a straightforward Libertarian issue. Whether or not I ever start smoking it myself I just think the country would be far better off legalizing recreational amounts and taxing it rather than wasting the money to imprison people for it.

Aren't you glad that most cities have banned it in public places, otherwise the walk to work could be a bit problematic?

And before others ask, yes, certain establishments can apply to have it in their place of business, BUT it must be advertised as such to the general public. SIGH.

That's interesting.
It might explain why some people who smoke synthetic cannabimetics go bat shit crazy. Some of those compounds have thousands of times the binding affinity as THC.

While I can sympathize with your rare condition in relation to pot I would point out that peanut allergies can easily KILL people yet we've all collectively figured out how live in society and not have too many people be adversely affected by that. Even if recreational pot is (or was made) legal where you live it's not like you're going to be tripping over random buds on the public sidewalk.

I happen to live with the ironic curse that I'm fairly allergic to cats but I love them as well. While that "curse" is not likely going to get me killed (or drive me psychotic) anytime soon I've learned to adapt and move on with my life. I just don't go to places that are full of cats...

It's a real "moral panic" film from the 1930s that, for what it's worth, is likely one of the most famous films of its type. It's unique in that's it's considered one of the first "worse movie ever" type movies that Hollywood ever made.

It also probably single-handedly set back the "legal cannabis" movement for decades. I'll leave that to reader as to whether they consider that effect a good or bad thing.

More to the point I've never heard of such a negative reaction to "reefer" like Terwyn has described but I'm certainly not going to instantly assume that such a thing is impossible out of hand.

Yeah as far as the "joke" went I was mostly dancing around the issue for Terwyn's sake.

Anyway, considering possible "rare reactions" to pot wouldn't it be funny if pot affected humans exactly like catnip affects most cats?

Don't worry about it.

It takes a fairly substantial dose to cause the effects I described - that's the worst case scenario reaction. For the most part, it causes anxiety, paranoia and a remarkable impairment in judgement. Still not a good thing. I am very pleased that it's under the same restrictions as cigarettes, but the problem is that a lot of people who smoke it honestly care less about those restrictions than those who smoke tobacco.

Probably. I know in my province, the restrictions are mainly handled on the municipal level - and there's an attempt to make us a "clean" region.

Well I imagine in the "Wild West" days of cigarette smoking things were a little messy and unorganized. Now that legal recreational weed is becoming more common the people who are into it will likely start to "conform" a bit more as it becomes more of a "socially accepted" thing.

Still might take years for that kind of thing to settle down but I imagine it will at some point.

Well, really, there should be

Well, really, there should be heavy restrictions on any kind of smoked substance in all public areas that gives off second hand smoke as a by product. No one should be able to force other people to inhale their cancer smoke. Nothing makes me more pissed off than when I'm somewhere outside in the public, like a park or an outdoor mall, with my 7-month old son and people couldn't give a single care that their smoking can seriously harm other people, especially babies. If I were able to make a law it would be illegal to smoke within 100 feet of a building or another non-smoking person.

Well there are plenty of laws already on the books in many places that tightly control when/where people can smoke cigarettes. I have to imagine that eventually (if it's not already the case) that the smoking of cannabis (as well as vaping for that matter) will likely fall under the exact same restrictions in most public places. No logical reason I can think of why those things wouldn't be treated equally in that regard.
