Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

To purchase your copy of the City of Titans Launcher, visit our store at https://store.missingworldsmedia.com/ A purchase of $50 or more will give you a link to download the Launcher for Windows or Mac based machines.

Plz God Not The Mouse Camera

I really hope City Of Titan's doesn't have the mouse camera like dcuo. I played dcuo before its a fun game but on pc.... its crap. I really hope to god that the camera movement in cot is much different or better than dcuo. If anyone has another other suggestions or ideas on this i wanna hear them

I highly doubt they would go this route, it works for DCUO because of the twitch playstyle but not so much with CoTs intended game mechanics.
As a side note....I thought you could decouple the mouse look and just use the keyboard....been a while since I played DCUO so not sure.

Basically its tied to the mouse move the mouse to look system.. There is no way to check anything without opening a menu. When you open the menu you become frozen, its can be frustrating to use.

Mouse movement = cursor

Mouse movement = cursor movement (click on things)
Right-Click + Hold = rotate character *
Left-Click + Hold = rotate camera *

* Can be the other way around or can be controlled via Keybinds/options

Oh dear gods no! Hate mouse-look! That's why I stopped playing DCUO, despite actually paying for it.

I liked right-click-hold to look around with the mouse. Is that what folks (including Doc) are objecting to?

Sorry for being dense if I'm missing something here.

As I understand it, they are

As I understand it, they are objecting to the camera being tied to mouse movement, which means that you look (and usually your character turns to) wherever you move/point your mouse. Clicking a button to look around provides the option to move in one direction while looking in another, or at a minimum the ability to move the mouse/pointer without suddenly running into the side of a building.

I presume that this means that DCUO has no third person view.

As far as camera control

As far as camera control options go, I like what COX had and would expect that. Can we do that?
Also, I like 3rd person POV. I used it all the time.

No it did. My biggest issue with DCUO camera controls was it meant I had to know dozens of buttons to do anything other than fight. If I wanted to jump to my inventory I had to know that button, if I wanted to read more about the mission I was on I had to know that button ect. It wasn't so much that the camera was tied to the mouse it was more that with it tied to the mouse I had to use the keyboard more.....I like to relax hang back and play a game, I don't know the keys that well, so when I want to check anything I gotta hunt and peck till I find the key I want and go from there. I mean I could just use one key and then mouse to the tab but I just found the whole process frustrating.

I was wrong. Tera uses the mouse-look thing and does have third person view. It works, but then Tera has the whole 'action combat' thing going on. Moving in one direction while looking in other, however, is right out.

I know there are plenty of ways for this kind of thing to work and we all know CoT will not be an exact 100% clone of CoH in all respects. But is there any harm in hoping that CoT will simply provide the exact same mouse/camera options CoH did? Let's try to K.I.S.S. this game as much as we can.

Agreed, much like insirations and the enhancement system (pre IO) CoX got the camera controls as close to perfect as I think you can get.

Oh, I think I get it. You couldn't use mouse to click stuff in the UI for anything other than combat? That sounds terrible.

Not quite true. You could... but it involved you having to unlock the mouse from mouse look.

But to be totally honest, TR was similar (although with its game style, it *did* make sense to do it that way).

I like the system that was mentioned earlier on, infact, I have used it in many other MMO's out there. Ironically, I saw someone on the Wildstar forums *asking* for this feature. And would you believe it, it was *already* in there. (They also have "Auto Center Camera" as an option. So when you are moving, it swings back behind you.)

(left click + Mouse = rotate camera around character,
Right click + Mouse = Rotate character)

DCUO's mouse camera is a

DCUO's mouse camera is a complete non-issue if you use a USB controller like I do when I play it. The problem is that it was originally a PS3 game that got ported to PC so the controls suck on PC. We won't have that issue with CoT, especially since we're not even using an action combat system anyway.

Although saying that, I

Although saying that, I believe that they are going to be looking at ways to make the game playable with a game pad (and also as an extension from that... more accessible to disabled gamers).

Final Fantasy 14: ARR won the AbleGamers award for accessible MMO of 2013... and it had an interface *designed* to be playable with a game pad (if you chose it). It is also a more mobile combat system than CoX was (at least to me.. your mileage may vary with that opinion though).

FF14 is AbleGamers mainstream game of the year

I've been studying a lot of FFXIV *cough* for various systems. They did a lot of things right.
