Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.

Average Orc = Chaotic Evil (clearly our characters tend to be the exception to the rule)
Average Goblin = neutral Evil
Average Gnoll = Chaotic Evil
Average Troll = chaotic evil
Average Half-Orc= alignment similar to who they grew up with
Average Hobgoblin = lawful evil
Warriors = any alignment, no average
Monk = must be one of the 3 lawful alignments (good, neut, evil)
Shamans = must be any chaotic alignment
Ranger = any alignment
barbarians = cannot be lawful
rogue = any alignment

alignments are a big part of D+D. many characters if they don't act according to their alignment slowly lose their ability to use class skills and perks. Some prestige classes have very specefic alignments they must be, and alignments they CANNOT work with.

Faceless, just so you are aware:
A sword that negates magic it touches would be worth.... over 8 million Gold pieces... basically completely off the charts. So imma assume if baruk ever gets it, he will find out it is not all it was worked up to be.
A talking sword that seals a soul would be worth.... in the 50,000gp range.
a lvl 6 or 7 character (ours) would be lucky to have something worth 8,000gp

Yeah if Grib wasn't paranoid about magical artifacts he would have grabbed it. Thing is he's paranoid about magical artifacts and magic itself. Note he was thinking the same line of things when the necromancer showed up and showed that sword to Baruk. come to think of it the way he acts he's paranoid about almost everything.

none of their epic weapons even come close to negating magic.... and they price up to 5 mil.
So i figured it would be a sword with some # of dispells cast on touch. And it would need its required level reduced so Baruk could use it, hence its ridiculous cost.

Mukzul is my Skyrim Orc. Tad on the old side highly skilled with smithing, and two handed hammer. Speaking of I think I start up skyrim and bash a few bandits.

There's always exceptions to the rules Especially in good storytelling. Take Drizzt the drow. And kaz the Minotaur. Etc.... All make for better stories
Yasmi, level 3 sorceress, 6 cantrips and 5 1[sup]st[/sup] level spells per day, down to 2 and 3* currently. After that, it's down to her buck & a quarter quarter staff. ^_^
*the burning hands was the second first-level spell she cast. Mage Armor on her way out was the first.

Not sure what level Mukzul would be. I imagine an older Orc just starting to feel the ache in his bones and winkles among the scars on his face. One that was a warrior before retiring to be the blacksmith. So he be at the higher level of the clan.

Yeaaah... I don't really see a reason to hold that closely to the rules, regulations, or alignments set up in any of the editions. We're telling a story for our own enjoyment on a superhero forum, not actually playing a game. *rolleyes*
That being said, after going on a writing jag with Julia's backstory, I'm going to say that her level is five, instead of two. ;-)

Well said Xselcier. On that note I'm still tempted to bring in my Half Elf/ Half something. Bogwrath thought he be something between a Rogue and a Mage using magic for stealth and trickery and blades for killing. Bogwrath wouldn't be willing to help the Clan normally, the escaping slaves being shot down would be a reason he gets involved.

i try to embrace the rules rather than transverse them. It lets different campaigns under different game systems feel wildly different.
RP is more of a problem solving exercise for me. If my character is x race his upbringing would have been Y. Put in class choice C to modify alignment and use that as the framework on which to construct the character.
I have very few characters who would "do what i would do" in a given situation. so my supers transverse the alignment spectrum to give myself rules to reactions, not always what I would view as the most favored outcome for me personally. Its the nature of the character to me that matters in its development.
So before posting a lot I read up on the Gnolls from the D+d universe to refresh myself. (my D+D memory being a bit rusty). Gnolls are sadistic, with the cleverness of predatory animals and maintain loose tribal allegiances so long as it is advantageous. They rely on brute strength and ambush tactics to get what they want.
Since most D+D based universes have the "good" races surviving and functioning through teamwork and cooperation (normal societies to an extent) The only reason they don't get overrun and wiped out by the "evil" races is due to the nature of independence and lack of empathy most of them have.
You can enjoy morally grey or black characters without playing them the way you would play a hero. (Think Game of thrones) Many of those characters would be in the Evil alignment categories, but are still likable or at least you kind of root for them.
I love the Dragonlance series, so Kaz is a good example of a character cast out of his society for being odd. He is pretty much a lawful good character (as shown by his many life choices and choice of friends) but in a society of mostly evil aligned people Kaz was forced to leave. (I have to go back and read that next week since I have it in storage somewhere)
so the TLDR version to put my ramble together:

I actually enjoy the way all the different chars are coming together. You can't have a tribe of evil races without backstabbing and posturing. This is turning into a very interesting thread.
I can see how the groups got together being mostly small numbers in an area where there a larger "Good" force it better for them to work as one group. The goblins would have joined because the base cowardness would seek stronger numbers, or members in this case the Orcs. The Orcs would accept the aid of the Goblins and Gnolls to boost scouts, and well assist in this case of being attacked. If that the case they are going to be pissed the Gnolls didn't join in defense of the Clan.

most the gnolls did join in. I killed off 2 myself already =P
Gnolls (standard gnoll vs standard orc) are basically twice as dangerous as Orcs. So most Orcs wouldnt stand up to a Gnoll.
player characters get evened out in D+D mostly. Every race has some sort of advantage or disadvantage, same with class choices. Thats why when playing D+D tabletop you have like 15 rule books out =P
If you want to find out (not for this rp, but just in general) how dangerous a race is look at its challenge rating. (all calculated vs a lvl 1 of that species.)
Goblin = 1/3
Halfling = 1/2
hobgoblin= 1/2
Orc = 1/2
Human = 1/2
Wood elf = 1/2
Dwarf = half
Gnoll = 1
Centaur = 3
Minotaur= 4

eh, your character not seeing them is plausable enough reason for him to bellow out for help from them. Since they are hard to miss unless they are trying to be scarce.

well wood elves are not known for fighting to the last man. if it doesn't look winnable they tend to retreat relying on cover of wood to secure their escape.

Grozz just tore the flankers who were gunning down the 'sellswords' apart. None would have returned as Grozz killed all but one. He and Julia are currently holding the leader of that contingent at sword and dagger point.

I just noticed a more interesting location for the tower. Is Isle of Fro inhabited?
Everywhere has potential to be habitat for some sort of tribe/city/town. The isle of fro is one that can easily be the place for the wizard tower. i think it actuall ymakes more sense to be the main object on an isle like that. And i guess the only inhabitents could be the towers servants for growing ingrediants, food, etc...
the map itself is a free download i found that looked similar to one i had created with my brother oh so many moons ago. heh, it is just one of 4 continents in the world we created. the central/northern one. and the smallest. the tribe itself would be located in the upper part of deepwood. there are no roads on the map because as i tried to add them it was too overwhelming and made it look like crap. All the squares or rectangles are obviously cities/towns based on the size of the placer. i know some of the names of the wooded areas and ranges are hard to see, but at least we can get a general feel for things.

The map is pretty neat.
Which would make us somewhat near Corridia currently. Woods close enough for the wizard tower to be a threat, far enough from the major lake to explain why no one has mentioned it and no mountains to the north of us.
Gnolls don't really care much about what happens to prisoners. I am treating prisoners/slaves more like talking cattle than anything else. Gnolls just enjoy eating their meals living.

Just realized two of the cities didnt come through on the map...guess i didnt hit save when editing that time. Gorva-minor would be directly north of Imet on the coast and is about 1/3 larger then Imet. Gorvas major would be west of it on the bay above fellmarsh. That is Gorva Bay. They are the reasons the roads pass by the lake, trade etc....avoiding fellmarsh.
If I may make a suggestion, consider changing the font color to white or some other brighter color. The named places in the mountains and forests are just too hard to read with the currently black font coloring.

Baruk doesnt eat humans, or would rather not like most orcs. In DnD anyways. Orcs prefer game meat over anything else. So he wouldnt see the slaves as walking meals, but more of a hinderence than asset atm.
How close are we to Imet?

basic blacksmithing thing: If you hit something too much it gets hard. So if it gets hard before its finished getting into the shape you want depending on the metal you are either SOL or have to start the heating process all over again.

I wasn't planning on playing the orc. I was just getting him on his feet. I've already got three characters and a bunch of NPC humans and half-orcs. That's my limit.
I'll post his decision, then he can become one of the tribal NPC's. :-D

Re-read the RP thread, got even sadder that this RP died.
The problem is there was one driver of the RP really. It was Blue's baby and the rest of us don't really know what to do next. So... yeah I was thinking what Grib would do next or some such thing. Reread the Goblin Trilogy by jim C Hines. Really I can't stress it enough if you like light humor fantasy it's a blast.
