Blue, did you want us to keep it to just "monster races"? If so, can we bring in anything we can think of, or would you prefer that we keep it to the races you already named?

I'm looking at more of a Forgotten Realms goblin than an Azeroth goblin, but Kevahl does like gadgets. Especially gadgets that can punch through plate armor. ^_^
Rott, what's Grib? Besides willing to get dirty when necessary?

I was looking at some other races, but decided to go with Grozz, my half-orc that I haven't played in quite awhile. He's usually a rogue, but I decided to go with something closer to a two-weapon fighter/ranger for this story.

Grib kind of based off the Goblins from the storybooks Goblin Quest, Goblin Hero, and Goblin War by Jim C. Hines. Mix in some of the traits from the Goblin Web comic. So more of the Forgotten Realms/ D&D style. Not to bright but very observant. Kind of a coward (not how he planned to wait till others start the attack to join in). Thought not to much of a coward to not join in the fighting.
Darn it I did forget to state he was a goblin in my post. I try to edit it.

I think that Grib and Kevahl could be from different clans of Goblins. That could explain how they see and act differently, and be used as story drama (though not a lot). Say Grib from a Mountain tribe of Goblins who normally live in caves deep underground where Kevahl could be a goblin from a tribe that lives more in woods. Just random ideas.

Magic exists, right?
Don't know but given the Fantasy concept I would say yes. At the same time there might be rules and guidelines for this realm that limits the use of magic, who has magic, and what that magic can do. So I would definitely talk it out with Blue to figure out what the limits and guidelines would be.

Hmm, alright, i'll talk to blue.
aye magic does exhist... as for what creatures to bring?...whatever you feel like really...everyone here has always been great as to follow what they feel appropriate for the current event. im basing in a DnD world for simpler more broad references.
So me and Blue agreed on magic guidelines based on D&D, for anybody else who wishes to roll a magic-wielding character.
On another note i'll introduce my character after the wagon fight, since he wouldn't be a member of Baruk's raiding party.
only issues i have with magic is not wanting to have some all powerful mage who just destroys everything. hoping things will be scaled back to lesser magics.. Oh and a thank you to xsel for starting the ooc.
What i had in mind was a powerful necromancer but with a HUGE BUT, he WON'T do any fighting, he will only have a quest for the group.
I did read that right steamtank? Book was in the treeline waiting. As for the contents of purses and trunks and crates in the wagon. feel free to use your imagination gang.
Steamtank, to avoid any confusion we could say your post came before mine, so Book could've done what he did without being interrupted by my character.
just waiting to finish the ineractions with book faceless, not ignoring your post. Going by the timeline you suggested that his happened before yours.
yeah we were posting at the same time >_<
fyi, i use DandDwiki.com and use 3.5 (since its the most recent nearly complete wiki) for this type of stuff.
Book is a shaman whose spells i pull as a lvl 5. Nothing huge, but he is old as dirt (for a gnoll) so a lvl 1 wouldn't make a lot of sense.

Book is apparently pro Gor....not the Gor should be removed thinking of Baruk and im assuming the others.
Book is actually indifferent to who leads. He viewed warning Baruk that Gor might not like receiving second offerings as a "bro move".

AHH ok ...orc mentality. lol
gonna wait to see if Xsel, foradain, and rot post before we turn to the dark figure.
Forgot to mention he was speaking in the orcish language.
I'm getting a better feel for Grib personality and style. He's classic Rogue sneaky, sneaky, stabby, stabby! Really doesn't like to fight unless he thinks he has the upper hand, even then by sneak attack. Of course he would let the Tank,,, um orcs take alpha strike.

aye..im really liking this group weve made. Each with thier own traits.Should make for decent rp.
Should we wait for Xsel to do Grozz's reaction?
thats what i was doing..
Oh well, then i'll just go ahead and post.
i have a map of gilithia but having issues posting it here.
Wednesday just isn't a good day for me post-wise. I typically don't get a chance to post in the morning or the evenings, so I get done what I can in the afternoon. :-/

Oh... a map would be great. The location i wanted for the tower was hidden a top a mountain they took from a goblin tribe by slaughtering them, they left no survivors, so no others would learn of what happened.
So if you can't post a map, can you tell me the best potential candidate for such a mountain and it's position in relation to Imet? (West, North-west, north etc.)
well Imet and deepwood is the northern most forest , there are quite a few ranges. Ill try and post it again later.
Oh and how about a pantheon of gods. Do we just go with the ones D&D provides?
Going by 3.5 (My favorite edition, though that may change as I see/play more 5e) Kevahl is a Ranger 4, two-weapon-fighting variant with humans as his (first) favored enemy, but he doesn't have an animal companion yet. He's looking for something at least medium sized that he can ride, preferably carnivorous, but in a fight he would dismount and his companion would be concentrating on Kevahl's opponents...
I'm using the 28 points we did in Living Greyhawk, with the modifications for Goblin and the increase at level 4. ^_^

undercommon is what i assume i keep calling gutteral. I think the term gutteral is from the forgotten realms series of books.
http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Gnoll
http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Orc
http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/SRD:Goblin
All four varients in our party are on those three pages. Obviously our characters will have slight variations over the "average" of our chosen races but the breakdown seems to go like this.
Strength:
Orc + Gnoll both get +4 modifiers setting them as on par in their prime. Half Orcs at a +2, and Goblins at a -2. The base starting example places Orcs 1 point higher than Gnolls
Intelligence:
Goblins top our chart at no modifier (lol), with Gnolls, Orcs, and half orcs all getting a -2 modifier. The base starting examples put Goblins in normal school classes and the rest needing their tests read aloud.
Wisdom:
Orcs get a -2 modifier, all others are at a no modifier. The base starting example places Gnolls with the highest average wisdom.
Dexterity:
Goblins are the only ones with a modifier, much like elves +2. they tend to start around a 13, so very nimble, orcs at 11, so good reaction, and gnolls at 10 average.
This would be Book with the 28 points and adjustments for age. His memorized spells and spirit guide are what kept him as his now nearly destroyed tribes Shaman for 10 years. Due to his lvl he functions as having 21 for con. This qould explain how an old undersized Gnoll keeps defeating challengers, it takes a very very large effort to kill him.
Book: Lvl 5 Shaman
Str 13, Dex 12, Con 20, Int 11, Wis 19, Cha 13
Height: 7 feet Weight: 260 lbs (considered small for his race)
Age: early 50's
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral (Odd for his race, but Shamanistic ways have changed him)
Spirit Guide: Hyena: Cannot be caught flat footed
Equipment:
Bag of bones (think man-purse)
Leather pants
Skinning Knife
Shaman Staff w/spear cap (large, 2d6 +1)
Padded armor + Buckler Shield (For an AC total of 15)
Memorized Spells (no stick needed)
lvl 2: Hold person
Lvl 1: Doom, Cure light wounds
Lvl 0: Guidance, Resistance, Virtue
Spells he has access to with his stick:
Lvl 2: Aid, Bulls Strength, Bears Endurance, Cure Moderate Wounds, Darkness, Enthrall, Lesser Restoration, Shatter
Lvl 1: Sanctuary, Obscuring Mist, Protection from Good, Command, Cause Fear, Bane, Bless

Seems I should read up on the D&D stuff. Never played Tabletop RP but once long time ago with a crappy Game Master and it was Vampires the Masquerade. The character I came up with eventually evolved into Ron Bolton the Zombie.

D+D goblins favored class is the rogue. They tend to be average intelligence, below average bravery (unless they think they can win) and very opportunistic. So your gobo is pretty much spot on Rotten.

Well seems I been playing my Goblin alright from what I read need to boost his intelligence a tad lol. So he's smarter than what I first thought of still a coward and a sneak. Maybe I take the time to fill out a character sheet.
Edit to add. Yeah been reading up seems I knew what I was doing without knowing what I was doing. Just used base Goblin lore from all the fantasy stories I read and thought up.

i overall see the characters being somewhere between lvl 2 or 3 (rottens cowardly goblin) to lvl 6 or 7 (blues main)
which makes the entire quest of attacking a wizard tower with a magic sword that would make any lvl 30 warrior pee himself to own an absurdly difficult, but potentially amusing rp task.

and to clarify i meant 3 days. is anyone going to add a second character from the tribe? or a new one? thinking future here. we need a fence type character the group knows. i have one ive used in many a campaign from the past. a jacklewere named jerros. but he always had a companion.
We can always introduce NPC's as needed.
Going by our main characters levels the camp should have anywhere from 10-40 Gnolls, 30-60 Orcs, and 40-100 Goblins. Since roughly half the Orcs and Goblins would be labeled non combatants and about 1/4 of the Gnolls.
Since the groups had all been thinned out I would place it on the lower end of the averages.
If we need a bunch of characters to take on the mage tower we can each bring 2-3 that way if we feel like killing off a few in something epic it wont be a big deal.
The only three I am retaining any control over are Book (lvl 5 shaman), Hyep (Lvl 4 barbarian), and Tega (lvl 2 ranger). All other Gnolls should just be considered lvl 1 Gnolls whose loyalty would be somewhere between Book and Gor.
I also figured that the gnolls in the camp were not all from the same original tribe, but that non Gnolls had a hard time telling tribes apart, or even realizing it was more than one tribe worth. (That way we maintain some continuity and Boruk can cause his strife easier)

Aye i agree with the assessment. Let's use this breakdown of the tribe.
Gor--leader and strongest of all orcs.
Thee Gnoll guards lyal to Gor
3 Orc guards , one Boto, the strongest is supremely loyal.
36 total other orcs, not including our chars. Of which 12 are females and 8 are young. (the smaller number of young to females is due to the hunting parties)
13 total other gnolls besides the ones mentioned. (Book, Hyep, Tega not included in that number)
25 ish Goblins. (not counting the named ones) the reason for the ish is alot have come and gone and as stated before who can really keep track.
1 ogre (a smaller than normal but stil strong) who found its place here when he was tormented by his kin.
anyone want to add/subtract from the tribe? feel free ie..if they wanted to add another character to play or another odd race for another sub plot.
the post about the possible attack i wrote never mentioned specifically which camp. there are other orc/goblin tribes in the area. do we want to rp this attack or use thier presence as just another subplot of growing threats to the chars? i figured wed decide together.
Narrative wise given there a current of possible tribal infighting a battle with the elves would do one of three things. Unite the factions together to combat the foe the cast aside differences angle, or could be used to show Baruk is a better leader than Gor, last our group returns to late most of the home camp destroyed and desperate they take the Mages offering and fight the Wizards in the idea of using the spoils to rebuild.
Personally with how things are setting up the political angles in the tribe offer more than your standard Us vs Them story plots. Here what I was thinking, The necromancer shows up again this time to Gor and being chief he sends the party he doesn't like (Baruk's group) on the task. If Baruk refuses it's a clear challenge to Gor's authority, if he accepts and lives then it boosts Baruk's fame. I'm betting Gor would think Baruk would die and it be an easy way to get rid of a challenger.
If we are using D&D rules I have found something that could be useful. http://www.wizards.com/dnd/dice/dice.htm
I used the dice roller for my World of Warcraft Troll fortune telling act. I could bring him in thought I would have a hard time fitting him into this setting. Not to mention class wise he be much like Book.

Not to mention D&D trolls are tremendously more stupid than the world of warcraft ones.
That the biggest problem. Toralzul was a very observant and intelligent fellow, kind of had to be to be a fortune teller. "I be reading the bones mon. What ya be wanting?" Just doesn't seem to fit with this concept.

i was thinking that all hell would break out in the attack. The alliances would come to bear and it could create some even more interesting plot lines. id figure timeline wise, our group would arrive back at the camp just after the initial attack. kinda why ive been delaying with the whole wagon ordeal. realisticly they coulda made makeshift sleds to haul the stuff back and left the stupid wagon. But ive got Baruk contimplating even going back. Hence the delay. There are so many plot line potentials to consider. Wanted to have everyones opinion or vote even on how to progress our merry band of misadventurers. Having Gor and the tribe want to hunt them down for desertion. Baruk leaves seeing this tribe was doomed by poor leadership and being so thinned with so few protectors makes them just a big target. Survival of the fittest almost dictates they leave. easier to feed fewer mouths and make thier way to maybe join another or start thier own etc. been playin gwith so many ideas. the main reson he told the necromancer three days. Time to decide whats best for thier small group. The inner tribe if you will.
I figured you had something up your sleeve. I'm up with however you want to play this out. You're the GAME MASTER Bah ha ha ha ha.

Not a ghostwise halfling btw, his whisper wasn't telepathical like the sword's
Baruk , Ligi, Grozz, Skore, Fin , and Gil are left at the wagon. Fin and Gil are down the pass but still within earshot.
Btw all. The forgotten realms series of books is where I'm basing my characters on. Those and or the dragonlance series. Both very similar. And if you'd like some visual inspiration lol my favorite artists are Larry Elmore, Clyde Caldwell , and Keith parkinson.
i placed Hyep wandering in on the wagon scene just as X's char was telling the woman they were going to let her go. He barely understands common and most the common words he knows are from fighting.
