Developer's Workshop: Animations between Male and Female

This internal video was a dev first testing, then demonstrating to the team, the viability of using the same animation on the male and female models.

What to Look For: Playing the same animation, the dev swaps from female to male and back with no issues. Since the male and female models are not the same, it was not a given that animations would be able to do this. Also the female's hair has physics. Somewhat unpolished, but it's there.

What to Ignore: Heavy perspective distortion is making the head look big and the legs short - it's just an optical illusion, ignore it. If the hair seems oddly springy, remember the physics are relatively unpolished. The female face may look odd - the dev in question did not have the properly detailed female skin, where all the detail that make the facial features look normal are. He slapped on a skin texture at the time (and has acquired the skin since). Also, the retargeting wasn't quite finished at the time - animations may look a bit off (someday, perhaps, we'll make an update on the wonderful world of pose, skeleton, and animation retargeting, and how much of your development cycle the little buggers can eat).
