West of Downtown lies the home of the famous Liebner & Kurtzburg's Deli, and that of the Gabby Cabby's anonymous Fare. From the apartments and condos adjacent to Downtown, to the single-family homes in the western part of the district, there are many others who call Aurora home.
Most of these people return home in cars, on bicycles, or via Titan City's excellent public transit system. Few return on solid slabs of rainbow. So Toni didn't land in front of the Burdelon residence on Salem Drive, but instead behind a restaurant a few blocks away. He dismissed the rainbow plank and once again took Rose's hand. Setzer looked around, making sure they were unobserved, and strutted out of the alley, his tail in the air.

Rose blinks curiously at Toni's stopping point, but doesn't question the decision as she trusts him, inquiring.
"Taking me for dinner too, Toni? I think you're a keeper." She half teases, smiling to Setzer.

Toni laughed, too. With his free hand, he gestured, and his clothes changed back into the somewhat less flamboyant attire he'd been wearing earlier in the day. It was still suitable for this family-style Italian restaurant. "Your mother indicated some news coverage. Do you want to change before we go in?"

Rose shook her head, as her attire was actually her civilian clothing for now, something she needed to work on as she voiced.
"No, I'm good. And on that note, I should get some sort of costume narrowed down eventually." She states quietly.

As they came around the building, Toni saw that their "Open" sign was still showing.

Rose chuckles as she walks inside, admiring the decor for a moment before turning back to Toni as she quips.
"Trying to fatten me up before rehearsal tomorrow so I don't look the part, in concert with Madison?" Jokingly accuses.

"Ummm, it would be best..." Setzer looked up into her eyes for a few moments, and she continued, "Oh, I'm sorry, I have to ask, if the health department found out I didn't, they'd fine us. So, a table with a high chair, then?"

"That will be fine." With a award winning smile flashed, she takes Toni's hand and leads them to their table when the maitress is ready, smirking at Stezer's antics as she speaks to Toni.

On arrival at the table, Setzer leapt into the high chair with ease and flipped open his menu to the seafood section. Toni held a chair out for Rose, then took his own seat. "Yes, he certainly does." Setzer meowed briefly, and Toni responded, "Salmon Bruschetta? Yes that does sound good.."

The waiter chose that moment to appear. As he set down the bread and poured olive oil and vinegar into a saucer, he introduced himself. "Good evening signorina, signores. My name is Marco and I will be serving you this evening. May I get you anything to drink?"
Setzer meowed. Marco answered, "Milk and a saucer, very good..."
"Iced tea for me," asked Toni.

Setzer miaowed a bit. "Nope, he hasn't met her either. Rhythiel did give him her name, Argyros. Greek for 'silver', so I'd guess her family came from Greece, or she did."

"Then it looks like we have a mystery to solve, this will be fun. And Setzer....how old are you?" She inquires gently.

The door opened and a human figure entered the restaurant, the shape suggesting a fit male. He was dressed in a gray hoodie, blue jeans, red and white colored sneakers, and a pair of black fingerless gloves. His hands were stored in his hoodie's pockets and his hood was covering his face in shadow. He was walking by a lonely man, who was busy eating, when suddenly a faint flash of red light could be seen inside of the hooded figure's right pocket and he pulled out a pistol and killed the lonely man with one shot to the head. He quickly ran over to his victim's corpse and reached for his briefcase, grabbing it and running out, as panic and chaos erupted in the restaurant. The hooded figure hesitated to get away, as he did not expect heroes to be dining in the restaurant. He stopped on the sidewalk and reached for his earpiece, clicking the talk button with his index finger. "Target eliminated. Item retrieved." He said, as his pistol glowed red for a moment, then disappeared.
Rose goes blank for a moment at the reveal, before turning to Toni curiously.
"Whoa...uhm, wow. I mean, this Underhill is obviously enchanted, but is there more to it then that, there must be a catch for such a long life?"

To say Rose was shocked by the events was an understatement, barely containing a yelp at the sudden gunshot, before cursing in French as she shouts to Toni whilst rushing out after the man.
" Are you alright?" However, she was not prepared to lay eyes on the man's corpse, murmuring quietly a blessing to see the man;s spirit safely off, speaking to his spirit as it departs.
"I will avenge you, for now, find peace." With that said, she turns back to Toni as she sighs. "I just wanted a normal night, was that too much to ask. Whatever, it doesn't matter. Are you ready to fight this guy, if need be?"

Rose sniffs the air, as she remarks.
"It was conjuration, I imagine for the weapon but...I think he merely used the chaos created in the escape." With that said, she scans the windows before seeing the figure on the sidewalk, speaking urgently, quietly.
"There, on the sidewalk. I'm going to try a restraining spell." With that she, raises her right hand, palm facing downwards, the appendage encircled in a ring of spectral, verdant light before she shouts, with an audible echo.
"Retinir!" A right of ethereal energy would appear before the assassin, as ghostly chains would be launched out and swirl about him, attempting to wrap him in a coil, should he not evade.

Toni conjured a magical construct, a huge wolf, ready to pounce if the assassin broke Rose's bonds. Setzer went in on the far side, and yowled at the top of his lungs. How such a small cat could make such a loud noise... If an ordinary mortal, the assassin would almost certainly be stunned by it...

The assassin jumped out of the chain's way and rolled, then quickly got up. His hood had fallen off, revealing only a blank white mask where his face should be. He was pounced by the constructed wolf, but dodged it as well, using it's leaping momentum to crash it into the ground. He was also unaffected by the cat's loud attack as no ears could be seen on the assassin. He did not launch a counter-attack yet, but the briefcase he carried glowed red for a moment and then disappeared. The assassin turned his blank white masked face towards Rose, scanning her for any particular weaknesses. On a side note, he did not use any magic, he used teleportation technology to get his weapons from a secret vault.
The wolf rolled, then lunged again. Setzer backed off, doing some analysis of his own. Toni conjured up his battle garb, enchanted clothing that could shrug off fire from most handguns, then did the same for Rose but in reds and pinks instead of shades of blue.

The assassin dodges the wolf again, but this time with a flash of red light he attached a high explosive shaped charge on the side of the wolf, then leaped to roll away from it and pressed the trigger with his thumb. The shaped charge goes off right into the side of the wolf, with the explosive force able to punch a hole into a five meter thick brick wall.
Rose's weaknesses would be that despite her relative power, she is as physically durable as a fit human, but was considerably better protected thanks to Toni's spell. Taking a moment to glare down the man, she allows her hand to glow once more, a ring of emerald spectral fire encircling it as she fires a series of weakening hexes at the assassin, hoping to drain him of vigor, strength, and power.

Toni began a complex conjuration. A few seconds later, the air was filled with pianos, eleven meters up, from uprights and baby grands to a full-sized grand piano right over the assassin. If he could look and react fast enough, he'd notice that there were four spots on the ground within ten meters of him that were not about to be impacted in about a second and a half. Three were occupied by Our Heroes, and one of those was only cat-sized. Hopefully he would not notice the anvil falling from 15 meters up over the fourth spot...

The assassin, as it seems, had prediction powers, he immediately jumped out of the emerald circle before it could drain him much and as for the pianos, he leaped and rolled into one of the safe spots with incredible agility. He knew the anvil was there as well and with a flash of red light some form of modern tech shield appeared in his hand. The anvil never hit it's target and was stopped mid-air by the shield. When the pianos crashed down, he pointed the shield at Toni and the anvil was launched out at him at 10 meters a second speed. Soon after his shield disappeared in a flash of red light and in it's place was a fully automated assault rifle with a total of 100 rounds per clip. The rate of fire was incredible, he unloaded the entire clip onto Rose in 3 seconds and despite the rate of fire, he did not have much recoil or spread, being able to land at least 80% of the bullets onto her.
The pianos crashed and shattered, and then dispersed into the same sparkling dust that the wolf had been blown into. "My conjuration," Toni commented, as he guided the anvil into the path of the bullets....
Setzer, meanwhile, had finished his analysis, and meowed. "Like the Duchess, then?" asked Toni, referring to a heroine who'd been active up until about six years earlier. "Not good, but at least he doesn't have a Tinker Belle working with him..." A six-meter diameter cup came crashing down over the assassin....

The assassin's super natural speed and agility were enough to get out of the cup's way by leaping and rolling away, he got up from his roll and with a flash of red light his assault rifle disappeared and in it's place was a rocket launcher. This rocket launcher had a revolver-like clip with 6 rockets total. He fire one rocket towards Toni and Rose, then turned to fire one at Setzer, leaving him with four shots left.
Rose's instant reflex to delve into intangibility is the only thing that saves her life, the bullets phasing thru her as she glares the assassin down, pulling a trump card. Reaching out with her palm again, she erects a circle of emerald energy in a fifteen feet area around the attacker, willing the limbs of slain men and beasts alike to claw and tear at his form. Hopefully at least buying them some time, she then erects rifts of the same energy to entrap the missiles and launch them back at the man.
Taking the opportunity to appear beside Toni and Setzer in a flash of emerald light, her power drained, she quickly shouts.
"We aren't winning and the longer this fight goes on, the more civilians stand the risk of getting hurt. Toni, get us out of here!" She asks as gently yet urgently as she can.

The assassin jumped several meters in the air to avoid his own fired rockets, in the process the rockets destroyed a portion of the attacking limbs. With a flash of red light his rocket launcher disappeared and in it's stead was a plasma sword, somewhat resembling a lightsaber from star wars. He dodges almost all of the attacks, with only one landing, then he eliminated the remaining limbs with quick strikes of his light plasma sword. The assassin hesitates to launch a counter-attack, after all Toni and Rose were about to leave and were not his assassination targets
Setzer dove into a shadow and came up near Toni, as Rose made her request. Toni didn't like it, but, "You're right." He conjured up the rainbow plank under them rose swiftly into the night. The decision to continue the fight would be up to the assassin.
But Setzer was not with them. He miaowed once, went back into the shadow, and came up inside the restaurant. Marco was attempting to calm the patrons. The Maitress d' was on the phone, presumably to the police. One of the kitchen staff took a photo of the dead man's face, then rejoined the other staff members. They all looked at the photo, trying to recall if they'd seen him here before...

As Rose and Toni fly away on the rainbow plank, police sirens could be heard and soon the assassin was surrounded in police cars, cops getting out to point their pistols at him. "Raise your hands in the air where i can see them!" One of the cops commanded. He did raise his hands slowly, but suddenly with a flash of red light he was fully encased in power armor. The cops started firing, but the bullets bounced off the armor. The assassin's power armor started glowing green, before releasing a wave of energy around himself, sending the cop cars and cops themselves flying ten blocks away with one cop car crashing into an arriving ambulance. With a flash of red light the assassin's power armor was gone and he made his escape into a dark alley.
Seeing the police cars arriving, Toni turned back. "Even if they don't need our help, they'll want to know what we saw."
The collision of the police car with the ambulance diverted his attention. "Scratch that. They'll definitely need help." He brought the rainbow down next to the ambulance.

Rose gripped onto Toni for dear life as they sailed over to the ambulences on a cascading ambience of light. Upon immediately disembarking the ToniTrain, Rose approaches the police officers arriving and speaks cooly despite nearly being killed.
"The assassin you are about to face killed a man suddenly in a restaurant using what we believe is conjured weaponry based on whatever he imagines or wills, so take caution. He also seems to possess enhanced reflexes and agility, so keep that in mind when facing him. As for our names for the report, I am Sorciera and this is my partner..." She takes a moment to allow Toni to introduce himself.

"Féerique" replied Toni. The French word literally meant "magical", and the root was also a nod to his great-great-grandfather, wherever [I]he[/I] was. He assisted the EMTs coming out from behind their airbag. "We broke off when he started using explosive rockets; to much danger to bystanders."

One of the policemen grunted when getting up and limped over to Toni and Rose."This pathetic excuse for a slenderman impression has been sighted near two other deaths by gun shot." He grunted again, then added:"He was never caught, nor sniffed out by the police dogs, he doesn't leave a trace, except a bullet hole in his victim's head." The policeman sighs, then continues speaking:"The bullets don't match any known manufacturer."
Smiling at his nom de geurre, Rose, or Sorciera turns to begin assisting the policemen with cordoning the crime seen by highlighting areas of entrance and interest in emerald energy, assuming the assassin has fled.

The assassin has fled alright, no trace left, but the bullet hole and partially destroyed street as a result from the rockets. The policemen slowly gathered at the restaurant, most of them having an injury, but nothing lethal. The limping policeman remained with Toni and Rose while the others helped a detective investigate the scene. "This son of a bitch has made a much bigger mess than on the previous scenes." The limping policeman said, then adding:"Might be more to look at than before. And conjuration powers? Hmm. Then i would wonder why the only things he ever conjures are technological devices, some speculate it's teleportation technology, but then there's the question why doesn't he teleport himself."
"Limitation on the technology, maybe? If it's not 100% reliable on a cellular level... And I think you're right about it being tech, not magic. Sir Sings Loudly over there" Toni indicated the cat watching over the body, "didn't notice any magic, and he's very good at spotting magic. He also thinks the killer has some precognition."

The limping policeman was about to say something, but then saw the detective approaching them. "No fingerprints, no pieces of clothing, no nothing..." The detective said and sighed, then added:"Still using the same bullets and the rockets blew up badly enough for us not to recognize them, if they even were recognizable." The detective stared at Toni and Rose for a moment, then spoke again. "It might help if you could describe every weapon the killer used."
Rose nods, immediately reciting the weapons remembered.
"A handgun to kill the target or so I assume, a machine gun, and a rocket launcher."

The detective sighs. "That doesn't help at all, i was expecting details. Did you notice any model on the weapons, any odd features, or anything at all? I've already got a guy checking on people who are capable of building a set of power armor."
If Rose had good memory she would remember the assassin's weapons being a plain gray color and incomparable to any models produced by manufacturers.
Toni had a fair memory, and a power that was well suited to the task. "I didn't get a good look at the handgun. There was also a limpet mine..." He conjured up an illusion, showing everything he had noticed about it. "It stuck to fur fairly well, though I have no idea whether that detail will help..." After letting the police get photos, he went on to the other weapons, in turn: the assault rifle, the rocket launcher, and the energy blade, letting them get photos of each, and letting Rose and Setzer critique his renditions to get more details. "Sorry, no eidetic memory, so I may have gotten some of the details wrong, but I figure this should be at least as good as sitting us down with a sketch artist. And quicker."

Rose notes the models on the illusions, analyzing them before speaking curtly.
"The models he used were solid grey, no accents or designed...they wouldn't match any other manufacturer."

The detective pulled out a small notebook and a pen, writing down a description for each weapon. "Let's just hope these do match to a manufacturer..." The detective sighs and walks away, calling in a taxi since all of the police cars were damaged too much. A car carrier soon arrived and all the damaged cars were loaded in, then taken away. "Well, i guess our job here is done, you can poke around to see if you can find anything we couldn't." The limping policeman said, as two ambulances arrived, one took away the dead body, but the other treated the injured policemen on the spot, since it was nothing severe.
Most of the other customers had left as soon as they were interviewed by the police. As soon as she got word that the CSI team was done, Maria the maitress d' called the owner, who called a cleaning service.
Marco approached our heroes. "The cleaners should be here soon, if you do wish to examine the scene, now would be the best time."
Toni shook his head. "I don't have any spells that would be good for that." He looked at Setzer, who meowed in the negative, and at Rose.

Toni said nothing, but looked to Rose for her wishes.

Rose started to smile as they walked carefully around the crime scene and slowly towards her home, voicing her thoughts outloud.
"One wild night, huh? Still want to be chained to me? I an understand if after this..." She doesn't finish the sentence, her steady voice failing and trailing off into the light wind.

Rose giggles at the joke, pulling him to sit on a nearby bench and leaning on him, stroking her soft caramel fingers down his arm and sliding into his right hand.
"And I said that wouldn't or rather shouldn't be too much of a problem. I mean unless your're secretly a demon of some sort? Then she literally blows you apart on sight, Charmed style."
She takes a moment to teasingly grin before replying.
"I don't think chains would look very good on me, would clash with my outfits?"

Fortunately, I'm fairly sure I'm not bent in that direction. And I'm not a demon, although my great great grandfather was an elf, at least according to family tradition."
Setzer hopped up on the bench, and sniffed at the salmon bruschetta in its clamshell box.

Rose blinks at this information, curious, amidst idly leaning her head into Toni's neck, snuggling comfortable in that likeness of a puppy.
"Is that why you were able to travel to the Underhill, familial connection or more? And good, I do like you just the way you are, no shackles needed." She eyes the box with her Pork Chop Volsuvio, quietly murmering.
"I feel I should make this up to you, this was a disasterous first date." Speculates softly.

"That was Setzer's thought, after he caught a good whiff and smelled my ancestry. Although that trip wasn't voluntary. "And tonight was [I]not[/I] your fault. Though I think I'll take the worst of terrible, horrible, no good, very bad days with you, that the best of days without you."
He leaned in to take another kiss.

"Interesting, do you believe it was fate that Setzer found and inducted you." She then takes a moment to inquire as she squeezes his hand.
"You'd spend your time with me even if the sky were falling, or their were trolls in the lavoratory?"

Rose nods as she considers this information, but decides to interrogate him a bit later after beggining to respectfully consume her Pork Chop, taking a moment to state with a grin.
"Good, because I wouldn't want to be alongside anyone else...well, Setzer too of course!" She grins

Toni used the plastic knife to cut off the top of the clamshell, making a dish for Setzer's portion, which was about a third of the salmon, sliced into bite-sized chunks, and a sprinkling of rice. He was about start on his own when he realized they had nothing to drink...
In the strip mall across the street he spotted a vending machine. "Back in a moment."

There was a large man that walked up and stood in front of the vending machine, he reached into his wallet and pulled out a 1 dollar bill ,and was attempting to feed it to the machine, but it just spit it back out."Oh not this crap...OK Dennis, calm down, just flatten it a bit more." He mumbled under his breath as he attempted to do the same thing only this time he smoothed it out a bit more, with the same result."Just get more money from your wallet, use a quarters those never fail..right?" he whispers to himself.
Reaching into his pocket now he pulled out a hand full of change, 3 pennies, 2 quarters and a nickle, to bad the drink he wanted was 1 dollar. "Ain't that bout a bi.." He was just about to punch a hole into the machine, before looking over and noticing two people holding hands walking up as he couldn't quiet recognize them yet, so he chose not to completely obliterate the machine right then and there.

He pressed the lowest button for a cherry cola, and retrieved it from the bottom of the machine. Dennis had a paper bag with a 2 foot long cheese steaks ,with everything wrapped around his left wrist.

"Don't punch vending machines, Dennis," came the voice of Connor, who was sitting lazily on a nearby mall bench with a soda of his own, reading a book. [I]Was he even there before?[/I] "You and I both know that's not good for your public reputation." He doesn't even look up, and instead flips a page with the tip of his finger.
"Hello Rose, hello Toni. You're dating? Most excellent," he says in greeting to the two of them, furrowing his brow at the pages. Whatever was in there, it was old, judging by the beat-up, busted cover of the thing, and it was keeping Connor rather preoccupied. Sitting next to him, on one side (for those that could see ghosts, anyway), were two animals. One, what seemed to be a former black cat, had ghostly tendrils of smoke rising from its form, along with singed, frayed fur that stood on-end. The other, a former rat, sat in a puddle of ghostly water, and appeared to be constantly dripping.
"Don't go into any of the stores, there was a gas-leak earlier. Luckily they caught it before anyone had the brilliant idea to light a fire of some sort, but it still smells like methane." He flips another page.
