Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.
It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

face on it. In other words the line from her chin up to her right cheek is at one angle and
her eyes nose and lips are at a slightly different one.

some but it extends to the inner canthus as well, yet the nose and lips do not.
This makes them seem incongruent or out of place.

slightly above and to the left of her pupil) that her chin is tucked and nearly touching her neck as if she
was looking at her feet but the face and eyes in particular are looking straight out at the viewer.
The subtle clues that make a face "read" right are not aligned with each other and so things appear awry.

His suit was a Christmas gift from his late wife and twins (the Rikti war was tough on him [img]http://www.deedeeproductions.nl/images/DeeDee/Smilies/Wink.png[/img] - it is also why he had a drinking problem for a while.. looong story!). The suit didn't come with a mask, but with a half face coverup. He never changed a thing about it, although in the summer (to please the artists [img]http://www.deedeeproductions.nl/images/DeeDee/Smilies/Wink.png[/img]) he may wear a tanktop instead of the bodypiece.[/color][/b][/size][/font]

Is the staff supposed to be short? It might be perspective, but I would expect the staff to be as long as she is tall. In which case, one end of it ought to be peeking from behind her back? Mmm, measuring with my eyes and mouse, again, and, at that angle, maybe it would still be hidden behind her torso...

The center point is supposed to be at the ring in front of her hand, which should put the other endcap just peeking out from behind her back to her left.
My guess is that whenever she saw DeeDee looking at her left side, Hypatia turned the staff a bit so it didn't show. ^_^

I don't know why but not having to think about where the light comes from because the image itself has reveiled that relaxes me. If all you ever do is color lineart it can become a crutch of sorts. It's good to break free and
try to create something with no lines from time to time. I know the few times I did I learned a lot.
It forced me to think in a different way and to become a lot more conscious of my choices. Also it made
me more precisely define my shapes since the lines aren't there to give structure or tell you where the edge is.

I think that's a pistol. A musket is a longarm, usually carried slung or over the shoulder, and rarely seen in the hands of the Musketeers in the novels or most cinematic adaptations I've seen.

Could be that most useful tool, the Dagger...
If I recall my Dumas correctly, the Musketeers were only issued muskets when they were actually in a war/battle situation. The muskets, powder, and shot were too Expensive to be part of their personal gear. Pistols were extremely rare in that time-period.

I'm not sure what is going on in your case, but often I find that people will attempt to add contrast by adding darks, which tends to make transitions too harsh. Usually I lower the overall value of the skin tone and progressively lighten the areas that are catching more light.

Mmm, I see what you mean, it Does look a bit like DeeDee needs a shave... The mask was a success... Your lightsource is more diffuse than Slan/BW's final image has... Did you lighten her skintone all over, or is that just an illusion due to the darker bits? I think... I could be wrong, you did well around her nose, but lost definition on her left cheek/jaw/neck. Her right side is pretty good, showing the shadowing from her hair, but I think, with your light, the shading on the right side of her face, around her mouth, is the wrong shape. It's good at the cheekbone, but her mouth wouldn't be in shade, not on her right side, anyway.
Actually, I think the Shape of your shading on the original was pretty good. If that whole image had richer/darker colors, then you could paint brighter highlights where the light reflects and darker shadows around her neck.
And I could be completely confused about everything! *grin*

Dee Dee I think there are two things to consider that might be holding you back. One is contrast between light and dark values, which has been mentioned. You need more in certain areas to fully describe the volume of the face:

The other is saturation. In each of these examples I sample the high, middle, and dark tones and then made a little gradient sphere to illustrate the transition. The original is very desaturated. The version on the right is the exact same picture with a different set of tones overlayed on top:

For the skintone that works fine...but it's the rest I'm not content with. The colors change hue. But I guess that's just a matter of seperating layers (hair - skin - eyes etc). I do that in the beginning.. untill I get to the details. By then I have so many layers that the program I'm using is finding it hard to work with them. So I have to "layer-down". I will have to start a new painting to start practising this. For now I have a few more projects to end up and then... Heh, well, perhaps not exactly. Quoll are small marsupial predators, not at all related to cats. But, to an Aussie, there might be certain similarities, and if one runs a search on 'marsupial cat', Quoll is what comes up. So, when invited to join the Legion of Catgirls (SG), an emigre from Australia might think of such creatures.
Shakti-Maia is a long-time friend of mine, though we've never met IRL, so she was flipping pictures of quoll at me, while she was having fun in the costume creator, working on this character. I might even have a copy of the original Costume file.

PS: Seems the only bushy tail is a fox tail, and it's too bushy for 'quoll-like' in my opinion. I hope City Of Titans will offer more tail choices! Also Darth Delicious: You're doing her right to keep her looking very feline (cat ears, cat whiskers etc). While she might look very quoll-like, she is very definitely meant to be a 'cat'! If you get her shoulders or an arm in there, don't forget to give her those distinctive white spots where her skin is visible! :-)

Of-course, in reality, when Aussies think of 'cats', it's usually feline cats like the rest of the world. However, if the Australian 'native cat' is referred to, then it's quoll mate! :D You're right of-course that they're not really cats though, but marsupials.
Did you know they're related to the Tasmanian devil? One has to agree that the wierd animals is a very good reason to visit Australia! :)
Anyway, as you know, I wanted an Aussie 'cat', because I'm Aussie myself (immigrated to the States 18yrs ago).
My idea (in development - must write the biography for her some time) is that my 'Quoll' cat-girl looks enough like one, that's what she calls herself, though in 'reality' she is a combination of human and feline.
Her powers in COH were dual blade/super reflexes, though I wanted 'dual claw' (an idea for devs for City of Titans maybe?) with a super-fast 'animal-like' martial art (perhaps something like Leopard Kung Fu).
Oh.. and this is her original costume changed to pirate, Fireheart, I still had it. :) I'm pretty sure I did send you the end version, since we were working on her together! :) If you desire it, I can also send it to you, Darth Delicious. :)

This black-eyed one bears the most resemblance to the Pirate picture that Shakti-Maia posted. The eyes, here, also resemble those of the various quoll in the image collage. So, barring a more direct answer from Shakti-Maia, I'd go with that.
Of course, the Artist might invoke her License to interpret an answer that the CoH costume creator simply wasn't able to display...

Hmm.. the first pic doesn't have her face right.. That was playing around with face markings, and eyes weren't done right yet. She definitely has the much darker eyes, like the quollI but a bit of light in them would be nice... maybe black but glittery? And... I can live with 'artist interpretation'... just so long the artist has fun interpreting! ;)

This may be a bit of right-hand bias slipping in. Many artists have a tendency to give more
emphasis to the left side of faces without being aware. I went ahead and made an animation as
a tool to help people who didn't see this initially (or still don't) train their eyes to notice it a bit easier. [/color][/b][/size][/font]
[color=#c95f02][b][size=15][font=Palatino Linotype]Try staring at it for a while, when the lines appear (for 3 seconds) note the tilt of the upper line.
Then when the lines disappear (for 6 seconds) try to notice the difference in the right and left

Another way to check for this in real time is to set a hot key to flip the painting horizontally
and hit the key periodically while working to see if it reads right backwards and forwards. In Photoshop
the option is in the menu under "Image---> Image Rotation---> Flip Canvas Horizontally." I set mine to the F9 key.

Christopher - Google doesn't always show the same thing in different countries. Great Britain's and Australia's Google can be remarkably different to the US Google! In their Google DD might find that in Queen's English it means exactly what DD meant it to say, unless said in an obviously, sarcastic tone to mean the opposite (which can be applied to almost anything). Here's the definition of "Bless your heart' in Queen's English (and what you might see Googling it in Australia or England (not sure about Europe):

If it's been a while perhaps some light and shadow study for portraiture will help to get things back into perspective? Revisit the topic, hone your skills? Break out the sketch pads and graphite pencil and study the effect of a lamp light on a human figure or doll? Like that?
I know it's very basic, but when I took art at University, we were encouraged to continually do such study as a way of keeping our skills honed... Ah, I'll bet my drawing skills are very rusty now! Do what I say, not what I do! *grin*

well, while it may have been an insult I would say that the majority of the people in the States don't use it as such but do use it as a term of gratitude/endearment. when I lived in the south (Virginia,North Carolina, Florida and Louisiana), I only ever heard it used in a good way. I would hazard a guess it is one of those sayings that has morphed into meaning something other than how it originally started...much like rule of thumb.

That said I know DD is speaking to a mostly US crowd so I wanted her to be aware to avoid any possible offense. Most people I think know that if there is a polite way and a mean way to interpret something she means the polite one but it doesn't hurt to know the other meanings are out there. Also should've clarified when I mentioned she do a Google search I've already shown her how to make her computer think she is in the US so she can get access to all the US versions of things such as US Google and US photobucket etc. etc. so I was sure she would find out what I meant.

The only thing I did was cut it to a square photo and resize the image because the original is about 23 MB. So this is VERY close to what I actually saw. I think the camera did very well. Even captured some of the stars. (the moon was surrounded by "Pisces" btw, to those who find that interesting to know [img]http://www.deedeeproductions.nl/images/DeeDee/Smilies/Wink.png[/img])[/color][/b][/size][/font]

You're welcome! And good idea about the mirror. Done that myself. Just remember though that light direction is somewhat limited and reflections can be more distorted than the real thing.
