Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

To purchase your copy of the City of Titans Launcher, visit our store at https://store.missingworldsmedia.com/ A purchase of $50 or more will give you a link to download the Launcher for Windows or Mac based machines.

Requesting a list of features

Newbie here! Hello everybody.

Anyway, I was wondering if there was a nice orderly list of confirmed features and maybe potential features for this MMO anywhere yet I could look at. You know, what the plot, gameplay, combat, etc. are like. I'm having a lot of trouble just finding out what the combat is going to be like, not to mention the rest of it. It's hard to cirque everything or make suggestions if I don't know what this game is going to have in it.

Thanks for any help here.

I understand that having an

I understand that having an official "list of confirmed features" would be very helpful for anyone considering this game and/or interested in providing suggestions/feedback to it. The problem is that at this point such a list is likely going to be so vague and generic that its value would be questionable at best.

Try thinking of it in terms of how a car company would describe a new model of car several years before it's scheduled to roll off the assembly line. It's probably safe to say they could tell us that it would have four wheels, seats for the passengers and a windshield. But telling us things like its horsepower, turning radius and optional color schemes are things they likely haven't established yet.

I realize everyone's eager to jump into this game ASAP. But we must be patient and accept that we'll learn more details about it as they come. One advantage we do have over any other random MMO being developed is that we know that CoT is using CoH as a "spiritual blueprint" so to speak. We may not know every single detail about CoT yet but it's probably safe to say that the things we don't know about are going to be at least "relatively similar" to what we had in CoH. That's much better than nothing at this point.

Okay I think I remember a few

Okay I think I remember a few things. Note right now CoT in the beginning development and EVERYTHING can change.

That said the first and major is a very robust character creation system. It wouldn't be a Spiritual Successor without one. That includes Power customization.

A integrated story with adaptive abilities. That random foe you ran across in a police scanner could become a recurring Rogue in your Rogue gallery.

Multiple story paths from 1-50. That right you have options on how to progress along.

Contactless missions and long term contacts. You might just be chilling at a bar or a random spot and overhear someone talk about a crime happening. Ding you get a mission. Or you search for one finding clues that opens a mission arc that you can follow or give to someone else. Long term contacts is just that. The beat cop you meet and becomes friends with at the start of your hero days might just be the police Commissioner when you hit level 50. That cop will be a contact for the rest of your adventure.

Of course there the full option of being Hero, Villain, Rogue, and vigiantie. Even change sides farther down the road.

Big teams with Super Sidekicking action. Same with CoH here no matter what level you are you can always join any team and have fun. Level 1 on a team of level 50s no problem.

Okay that what I can recall at least for now. Remember I am not a DEV just a very nosey follower. Now if you excuse me I need to check out the video cameras I had secretly installed in the Devs houses... forget I just said that.

Nothing is set in stone yet.

Nothing is set in stone yet. And if the devs actually were pressured into giving us a preliminary features list but had to drop some before launch? Disaster!

"Promising" a feature and then not being able to deliver it is the fastest way to lose your potential future customer pool

Being cautious and giving us little bits of info will work out better than just blurting out anything to make noise. Patience please

removes mod/dev/tinfoil hats - personal view

TL:DR Hornets nails it.

We are working with an engine that is evolving fast so what will be possible at launch may not match what is possible now. Some things that we think are possible now but haven't yet tested will prove to be impossible, and stuff we rejected as too hard may suddenly become possible. Some stuff that works may have to be pulled on performance grounds.

We have some aspirations and general aims, but specific promises are going to be used to clubs to beat us with if they can't be attained, without getting any credit for the stuff that was added in.

I realize that many many features are not yet set in stone, and that the developers do not want to feel pressured to include features they might not ultimately be able to, but all I'm looking for is a simple list of things that the team has revealed they are considering, subject to change of course, like a condensed to the point version of those updates mentioned above. Personally I wouldn't care if the team ended up pulling a Peter Molyneux, but that's me.

a "what we know" thread

a "what we know" thread effectively, a post that would contain all known information, boiled down to an almost bullet point type listing. ideally linked to where in the forums this information was garnered from. created either by a MWM rep or a very ambitious forum goer. this is what I am gathering from this request.

I actually kind of like it, especially when one looks at it from the perspective of a new person just arriving and wondering what the current status is of the game without forcing them to trudge through miles and miles of forum posts to gleen, what is at this point, very lil information. does it help the folks who practically live here? not really...but that's not really who the post would be for. the other option similar to this would be to have a link on the main page with the relevant info (including appropriate links)...although this would definitely have to be run by an MWM rep.

Yeah, exactly what I'm thinking of, a thread showing what has been revealed about the goals devised by the developers so far, subject to change at any time, all of which that could be added to, confirmed, and dismissed as development goes on. The intent is for this sort of thread to be fluid and ever changing up until the point everything is actually set in stone, but also something newbies like me or simply people that want something on hand for discussions can use as a beginning reference point.

Didn't Winter do something

Didn't Winter do something with organizing the KS Updates?

And, really, what sort of information are you expecting in the 'List of Features'? What 'features'?

I think we've been shown 'better graphics' than CoH.
A more complex/varied/complete AT framework than CoH.
An Alignment system.
'Momentum' and 'Reserves'.
A system for enhancing Power performance.
We've been told there will be a Character/Costume Creator and shown evidence that it will be more capable than CoH.

Is this your 'List of Features'? Do you expect the Dev's, who are not getting paid, own you some sort of report to justify their existence?

Bah, Read The Forums and learn stuff the way the rest of us, who have been here for a couple of years, did it.

And get off my lawn! Or some other old-guy expression.

Be Well!

This list, while as accurate as anybody has at the moment, is pretty much what I was saying earlier in my "new car" analogy post. It contains all the generic high level stuff we've already been told and can almost assume at this point (the vague equivalent of telling us "the car is going to have 4 wheels and a windshield"). But when it comes to specifics (like exact horsepower or fuel efficiency) no one really knows yet, not even the Devs.

Again I'm not against having a summarized bullet-style list of features laid out for CoT. I simply suspect we are at a point where it's really far too early for such a thing to exist yet. Far from being "set in stone" such an attempt at a list now wouldn't even have the water, asphalt and limestone available to even pretend to make something solid much less the concrete info we would need. Give it like 6 or 12 more months and such a list might make more sense to even bother with.

If we'd given out a feature

If we'd given out a feature list at the end of the Kickstarter, it would be nearly worthless now. Our costume creator alone has undergone so many changes, so many refinements, adjustments, even whole-scale redesign of areas... the engine change opened up new possibilities, even as they cost us some features we had originally planned on using.

Want to know what features of the costume creator *hasn't* changed from what we had internally written down at the time of the Kickstarter?

Right... Back when I played CoH I had to get up in the morning at ten o'clock at night half an hour before I went to bed, drink a cup of sulphuric acid, work twenty-nine hours a day down mill, and pay mill owner for permission to come to work and when we got home our Dad and our mother would kill us and dance about on our graves singing Hallelujah.

And you try and tell the young people who are going to get to play CoT with eyes that have customizable textures that ..... they won't believe you. ;)

Paladin has brown eyes.

Paladin has brown eyes.
Last Crusader has blue.
Honestly I don't think I've ever decided on the eye color for any of my other characters.
Am I going to have to decide now?
I don't know if I'm ready for that kind of stress.
And I'll be hanged before I'll just give all of them the default color like it doesn't matter to me.
AAAAAA!!!!!!!
Curse you COT!!

Hey how about this:
instead of a list of features,
since that's clearly impossible, and we can all understand why,
suppose you give us a list of Objectives.
That way even if it's not available at launch, we'll know You want it and maybe we can look forward to it in updates.

Even more: for advertising purposes, a list of the unique features;
things you hope will really set it apart from other games and make people excited about playing, even if COH gets off the ground again.
Nunchaku could be on that list!

Will we get noses?

Now that you mention it, they totally should have mittens painted to look like hands in the game.

Has anyone seen my mind? It was right here...

And hats painted to look like hands! It'd be Kirby magic!

Still, even IF they have all the digits separate, I dont want to see them Most of the time.
I rather see my toon clench his fists a good portion of the time.

Of course, for a few Animations it doesnt make sense to clench the fists, i get that. ;)

Yeap, hard to cast spells

Yeap, hard to cast spells that have somatic components with clenched fists. Almost as hard as wearing mittens.

Eye have a few questions...

Eye have a few questions...

Will we be restricted to just the normal two in the usual locations on the face or can we have a third or even more?

How about just one in the middle?

Or one each in the palms of my hands?

And how about cat (or other non-human) eyes?

Or can I be a giant floating eye? Maybe covered in smaller eyes?

Inquiring minds, you know. I'm going to have to rest up now. I'm getting quite giddy from all the excitement.

Flap, flap, flap.

To get your eyes in the right

To get your eyes in the right place, perhaps you should re-post your request in http://cityoftitans.com/forum/costume-request-thread ?

Be Well!
