i may be wrong but i took elemental as Mel and masked one as Sam.... since Sam is in the process of trying to save mel from her own nature.
im rather certain the golem was Arch... its his MO. Only one i was really certain of, which is why its a good set of rhymes, several characters could fit several of the lines.

Yeah I didn't think the Orb thing would last this long. Cool it did went in ways I didn't even think about. For me the only characters I have active in a story is Rotten and Misty. Unknown just hangs around.

Hmmm... small problem. Don't let this affect your storyline, but if Mel goes abroad, I'll have to bring someone else in. Sergei can't leave Titan City. And I do mean literally. The mage who he's in service to has forbade Sergei from leaving the city without the mage's explicit permission.
But that's okay. I've got other characters I can bring in. With their rage, Mel and Sergei are a little too much alike. Perhaps someone a little cooler-headed to balance Mel out... *walks away, thinking*

Oh and I was thinking about a possible RP storyline for Lady Nova...here's a teaser...
*High above the skies of Earth, a figure would be shrouded in darkness, female features slightly visable, as she watches several holographic images of Lady Nova in action, one depicts her fighting alongside Anthem, her most recent fight against the Aether Pirates, and assisting several other heroes in the safe landing of a crashed plane, to name a few. The figure would then speak in a intimidating and silky baritone*
"You thought you could simply steal what was rightfully ours and walk away, 'Lady Nova'...? Your theft of the cosmic heart will not be tolerated....nor your abuse of it's powers in the protection of others!"
The figure would then let out a dark, bone chilling chuckle, before speaking again...
"We will have what is ours, even if we have to tear your precious planet asunder a thousand times over to gain it back...and we will leave your frail mortal shell alive just long enough that you see the streets run red with the blood of your fellow heroes, and you choke on the ashes of your 'beloved city!'
The figure would then stand, revealing herself within the light of the images, a large and no doubt deadly woman with a red skin hue, accented with luscious waves of rich black hair, and glowing orange eyes with the intensity of a furnace. Cloaked head to toe in a form fitting metallic body armor, decorated with high tech versions of distantly human medieval weapons, she would turn to a holographic replica of our Solar System, before slowly squeezing the visage of Earth within an gauntlet clad palm...

I think Impact is gonna break his foot off in someone's armored ass!
I've tried writing villain's before, Nightmare, but ...I don't know what it is, maybe I 'm just too nice for my own good. I've never been able to RP a truly evil villain. Sergei's the meanest I've ever written someone, and even he wouldn't kill the cops or gangers. It's something I really feel I need to work on.

sadly my character who would be intrigued (and need the money) is currently running from the law and trying to learn how to melt things better so she can kill every aether pirate in existence.
and my merc is a bit to.... money hungry, to only rely on a steady paycheck... everything he does costs the client more money =P damn gypsy!

I don't know about anyone else, but I always appreciate separate OOC threads. It keeps down on unnecessary clutter of the RP thread and there's less chance of something being missed.

yeah im retooling her... still a psychopath, but mostly just insane. a bit more feral combat based around a blood shield that gives her a wolf like carapace. like Carnage if it possessed a werewolf.

yeah.. she is a terrible idea after reading the ooc for that thread *Sigh*.... i wanted to drop her off in a large locked crate that read "settling my debt, put this in the back with your cargo" and have red in the box looking all sweet and asking to be let out because "The poppet was not fair, it played a dirty trick and now we are locked in the box, let us out sir, please?" followed by her going all carnage wolf as soon as someone tries to hijack the cargo out of the sheer glee of a good fight.

Some quick info on Sin and Shepherd I was giving someone in a pm. Sin much like Shepherd is an immortal spiritual being, though believed to be twins, Sin is the original immortal used as the blue print for Shepherd and other immortals like him. He is very ancient and his earth was destroyed eons ago. Right now he doesn't remember who he is so that knowledge is locked with in his brain. No body else knows the truth of his origin. Eventhough there is an original version of Shepherd named Gideon in another reality this Shepherd is one that had been created when Sin traveled to the Universe Paragon City was from. The magical energies had split him into 2 different entities. one hero one villain.

A little update. I may be returning to rp soon with Shepherd and Sin merged. I had take some time off with the holidays and other things and with my birthday coming up tuesday i'n doing a few things but I will be back

And so the die is cast. I'm also returning from my brake no real reason just seasonal depression and semi suicidal/homicidal thoughts. Don't worry just a side effect of being part of my family, so far I haven't given in. Given I lasted 37 years or so I don't see me going crazy anytime soon.
Well I introduced my main trouble maker Jotun Frost. As well as put another orb into play.
Going to write up a short story about what happened to Rotten Luck before I reintroduce him.

Sounds like fun. Don't think Rotten would go to a Soiree/Gala Thought I can see him downing Champlain and making comments about the food, none good. He's more of the biker bar type. Hmm come to think of it not sure if I have a good guy that wealthy I tend to make the poor end of the spectrum the spider man types who have a heck of a normal life. However I think I have an idea. ALX 32 aka Alex was my RP Bartender at the Pocket D perhaps I can play the bartender at the Gala. Heck if you like he could be Contessa's personal servant. I did play him as a hero, but more for the servant bartender so no reason he couldn't be an aid on the Villain side.

I really can't wait to have more detail on the game lore... I have a number of heroes and villains that need (deserve) some major overhauling to introduce them in this RP world setting. That partly why Pyrolizer got introduced at level 0! Once I have a hero primed for the soirée I'll write it up. I like the idea of a New Years bash a lot.

Sorry I haven't been participating much recently. My family suffered a loss, my 89-year old grandmother, last Monday. The week before that she was in the hospital and then home on hospice.
And now I'm dealing with a mother of a cold, so I'll probably go on not participating too much for the next few days.
But I just wanted to let ya'll know I'm still around and that I have been trying to work on the draft of the carnival thread.

Hey so I've been wanting to get into RPing over here for quite a while. Thing is I don't know where to began. I tried before with a character that I'll admit wasn't very 3 dimensional and I got out of that when that character wasn't really that interesting for me to play. So very a newbie to forum roleplay, does anyone have any suggestion for where I can start?

There was some discussion of rules over on [url=http://cityoftitans.com/comment/42461#comment-42461]Steamtank's RP Lore Cheatsheat Thread[/url]. After that, I'd suggest finding an open RP thread that you think your character can fit into. Then take a deep breath and dive in ^_^. If your character is dimensionally challenged, use the interaction to help stretch him out a bit in different ways.

Another option is to start off with the "self insert" character. Basically, take yourself, accentuate certain traits, and give them abilities that you think your super-self would likely have, and dive in that way. Don't worry about feeling like you're playing out a fantasy or anything. This kind of character is probably the easiest to start with and to write for, simply because you can base any emotional interaction, or response on how YOU would personally feel.

Let yourself be flexible. I started Ron "Rotten Luck" Bolton as a native to Titan City. Then for some reason I started typing Ya and Y'all instead of You and you all. A bit of southern draw. Of course Titan city isn't southern. So somehow either I would have to change how he talks or change his back story to include a southern childhood. Another example is my character Unknown when I started playing him I was trying to port my Warshade. During the RP however he changed into a whole new character new powers, personality, so I thought of a whole new origin for him. So the point is don't force yourself to stick to just a set thing let yourself explore your character see what is fun and adapt.
Second tip is let your characters have weaknesses. Not just in terms of how tough they are in a fight, but emotionally or financially. Why not let your character be addicted to drugs, or have a gambling problem? Why not have him/her be afraid of the dark (could be involved with the backstory a Foe that uses shadows and darkness.) Those little problems expand a characters personality adding the extra dimension you might been lacking before. Note having a problem doesn't mean it up front, say the drug addict for example would be hiding it, using the drugs only after making sure no one looking. Adding those little problems what separated Marvel from DC at the beginning. Spiderman had a crappy home life being an orphan raised by his Aunt and Uncle, right away Uncle ben dying right away changed the focus of the Spiderman Comics from spiderman to Peter Parker. DC had to play catch up after that.
If you have trouble thinking of a character (shocking idea us having trouble thinking of alts.) Play what if, what if Bruce Wayne wasn't the son of a wealthy family. What if he was middle class or even poor, how would he become Batman when he grew up in a foster home? Without that money he wouldn't have Alfred after all.
