Being a softy, Wren smiles, and carefully gathers Grace into a brief hug, "You never have to be alone again, little sister. I promise. You ever need -anything-, you've got me to help."
She lets the girl go stating, "I'm Wren, by the way. Mom and dad named me after the Fairy Wren because of my colors." Chuckling, she swiftly removes the close-fitting messenger bag, and holds out her hand for the blanket in Grace's hands. "Can I?"

For a moment and just a moment Ron had a sad look to his face trying to imagine what Grace been through. "Well that changed now. First rule of Titan City is we learned to see beyond looks. About a fourth of the population isn't what you call Normal, and a part of that don't look normal. So we learned to see people by how they act and what they do rather then what they seem to be. Me and Wren are good folk so we behave like it." He chuckled a little "Or to put it another way, we don't care to worry about being Normal, we care about being friendly."

Grace blushed yet again, a ready expression it seems, but submitted to being hugged by Wren.
Afterward, she softens her hold on the blanket. It was giving up her sense of safety and security, a tenuous hold of anonymity... But standing up now and with more room for her wings to stretch, she carefully extends them fully, trembling with the effort-- and as they relax to a neutral position, she holds out the blanket to Wren.
She gives a glance and a smile to Nick and Levi, then says to Ron softly, "It wasn't really bad, for me... Nobody really made fun of me or anything, it was just-- well--..." She shuffled a little. "Everybody assumed stuff about me. And I didn't want to think about myself like that, all the time..." She smiles around at all of them. "I just want people to like me-- for me, first, and because I can fly, after that."

Wren smiles brightly as Grace gives up the safety that the blanket's come to represent. She quickly folds it up, and slips it into the bag.
"Alright, here's how you wear it..." She proceeds to strap the bag across Grace's chest, buckling a smaller strap across her waist and snugging the straps so they lay smoothly. "See? I had some made 'cause I hated having stuff falling out of my pockets all the time!" she laughs quietly, "You can keep this one. It was starting to get a little snug for me."
She pats the girl on the arm, nodding agreement with Ron, "You'll be able to accept it more and more as you live here... you don't have to hide anymore."

((Whew, apologies guys.))
Nick rolls his eyes at Grace's comments, but grins. "And I won't be staying with you in the suite, if that's what you were thinking. No worries about payment, either. I can handle it."
Nick smiles at Wren and Ron's acceptance of Grace. Good to see she was fitting in.
When Ron copies Nick's act, he turns red and scratches the back of his neck in embarrassment. In attempt to change the subject, he looks over at Levi and says, "Hey bud, how bad do you think you could be these two songbirds here in a race?"
Levi responds, "I believe the saying is: it would be a piece of pie."
Nick facepalms. "Cake, Levi. Cake."
Grace laughs a little, attempting to tease Nick a bit as the satchel is strapped over her, "...Well, /somebody/ has to clock my speed sometime, right? I mean, if I'm ever gonna brag about how fast I am..."
She grins briefly at Levi's comment. "You'll have to get up first, though, Levi."
Grace starts to walk to the front counter, saying to Rotten, "I'll just take a couple of these then, shall I? I'll have to follow Wren, since I don't know the way there, yet..."

Ron passed over his debit card to pay for the bill and then signed for them. "Alright everything paid for. Sure you ladies want to race go right ahead I meet you at the Whitehold." He made a larger portal and stuck his head through then after a few moments he starts passing pizza boxes to someone on the other side.

Nick slides out of the booth with ease, but Levi has more of a problem.
Nick grins at her comment, "I dunno, it might be hard when we're so far ahead of you. No, Levi, don't break the table! Don't break the table. You slide out of a booth. There, like that. Good."
As Levi exits his own deathtrap, Nick pays for his meal. Levi stands fully at seven feet tall, and is forced to look down at everyone.
Nick stretches exaggeratedly. "Are you up for it, Wren?"
Grace has reached the stack of pizzas, and takes two of the boxes-- just enough to get her hands around, without the risk of dropping. Even though she'd just eaten, her stomach aches a little at the good smells coming out of the boxes...
She gives Nick an appraising look. "You can race if you want to, but then-- who's going to show /me/ how to get there?"
She has another thought. "Especially if Wren's going to carry you?"

Nick blushes. He got ahead of himself. "We'll go easy on you. Me and Levi--"
"Levi and I." Levi corrects.
Nick sighs. "...Levi and I won't leave your sight. It's hard to miss a big red robot. And Wren most likely knows where the Whitehold is."
Nick grabs a couple pizzas to carry and holds them under his arm.
Grace laughs a little, countering, "If you go easy on us, it's not a race, is it? Plus-- If Wren's carrying you and chasing Levi, and I can't keep up-- though I think maybe I could at least stay close enough to see you, hopefully..." She shakes her head amusedly, her chocolate brown ponytail swinging.
"Maybe I better just follow Ron. Though I think it'd be more fun to fly."

"I'm flying my way home, so if Nick here wants a ride, then you'll just fly there with me. It's a great way to learn how to get around. Bird's eye view, if you will. Makes following maps reeeeeally easy unless there's a lot of tree-cover." She laughs merrily, taking a couple of pizza boxes, and tying them securely to a rope she's pulled out of her right boot. The boxes are in a sort of rope cage, with a loop on the end for ease of carrying.
"You guys decide how we're gonna do this, I'm game for anything!"

"Who said I was riding with Wren?" Nick grins. "Levi, if you please."
"Yes, Master Ridley." Levi kneels and Nick jumps on him, piggy-back style. Levi stands, Nick keeping his balance by hanging on Levi's broad shoulders. "It's not flying, but it beats walking."
Nick seems a little bummed about Grace's choice. He rests his face on one hand, which in turn rests on Levi's shoulder. He'd hoped to see her fly. "Alright, we don't have to race. Levi can go at your pace. Right, Levi?"
"That is impossible to presume if I do not know Miss Grace's pace, Mast--" Nick hits him in the head, albeit gently. "I mean, yes, Master Ridley. Any pace she sets will be my own."
Nick looks at her with hope, like a kid waiting for his mom to say if he can buy a toy or not. "I'll understand if you'd rather not, though." Nick nearly falls off of Levi, but catches himself, grunting to keep himself in place. His words say otherwise, "I totally got this, no worries."
Grace laughs a little, embarrassed. "I'll fly. I can fly with the boxes, Nick, I just can't carry YOU, that's all! Wren, if you'll come outside with me, you can show me the way?"
Nick's disappointment had only partly swayed her decision. She really would rather fly-- for the practice and the sheer joy of it.
if Wren agreed, Grace would lead the way to the door, sidling awkwardly out with boxes and wings.

Wren grins, following Grace and exiting after handing the two pizzas back to Ron.
"C'mon, Angel." she laughs happily as she crouches and leaps into the air with a burst of a feeling of pure joy. Her wings cup the air, stroking downward powerfully to take her up to a good hovering height. She beckons to Grace, whistling like her namesake bird.

"See you ladies at the Whitehold." He passes through some more pizzas before grabbing the bag of drinks and walking through the portal as well. It soon closed behind him.

Nick doesn't register Grace's embarrassment. He's just a big kid with an even bigger friend. Levi exits the the restaurant, more careful with the door this time, and steps out into the night. "Ready, Levi?" Nick whispers in his lifelong friend's ear. Levi replies, "Always."
Cleats ejected from the bottom of Levi's feet, and then he leans forward, getting into a running stance. He then sprints forward at astonishing speed for such a large being, and jumps at an astonishing height, easily reaching the highest building closest to Wren's location.
Wren wings her way home, chuckling as the boy and his bot race off. She flies in lazy spirals, going slow so as to let Grace both keep up with her, and keep track of the route. It wasn't all that complicated, and she was able to show Grace more landmarks to other spots around town.

Grace would grip her own two boxes uncertainly, before shyly holding them out to Nick and Levi in entreaty. If they took them, she would smile with relief and gratitude. If not or they were already away, she would hold them tighter.
Stepping away from everyone, her white wings fan out and begin to flex, slowly at first... then faster... and cupping the air with a rush of endorphins, Grace exerted a particularly powerful downward sweep of the wings, crouching and jumping up at the same moment.
it seems she's sold herself short in the flight department-- she beats rapidly to reach Wren's hovering height, and hovers thete with her. Her face is quite transformed-- peaceful, sure, happy. Something about the contrast of the color of her wings against the sky makes them seem that much brighter...
She looks down at the boys below, happy and amazed anew at the boy and his robot, and quickly wings after Wren.

Just after the group left, a tall redheaded woman and an even taller black-haired man entered the pizza shop. His golden-eyed gaze swept the shop involuntarily, then he approached the counter.
"Good afternoon." he said to the smiling older gentleman behind the counter.

Rudy scoped the menu for a few seconds, then looked back to Ray. "I'll have your biggest Pepperoni Parm and a large glass of Amerikatt Cola." he said, then he looked down at Oksana and motioned to Ray.

"It will not inconvience you?" She asked looking at him and lifting an eyebrow

"No. I have a fair amount of money put away. Please order what you like." he said, nodding.

Her voice went slightly flat "I will have six of the largest size of the pizza with the full assortment of meats and vegitables avalible as well as twenty of these chicken wings, plain, and" her voice returned to normal " a diet coke with light ice". She smiled at him from the booth "so what do you do for a living?"
“To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.”

Rudy suppressed a whistle and the urge to ask. If she wanted to tell him why she made such a large order, she would. They sat down in a booth and he pondered her question for a brief moment, then decided to be up front. "At the moment, not much other than recovering from a lengthy incarceration at Hardlock Prison."

Her skin rippled for a breif moment at the words "prison" . Her face looking like she was fighting for control before she smiled warmly seeming to supress whatever just happened "you were legally release of course?" She then muttered very softly "stop it your ruining this for me"

"Yes, I was paroled a few months ago." he said, having noticed the ripple of flesh, which piqued his curiosity.

"That is great news" she said nodding. "So is it hard for a felon to find work i n this country ?"

She leaned over the table and thanked the waiter as he dropped off there drinks. "The serves here is atleast rapid"

"We do our best, sugga," the full-figured girl said with a smile.
up front the two young men were tossing pies like crazy to make the order, while Ray stood in the doorway to the back kitchen fussing with the cooking stay to make sure the wings were done just right.

"As I said, I've got a fair amount of money saved up, so I haven't really concerned myself with finding work. If I were to do so, I'd probably look at doing something related to ancient history or archaeology, as that is my primary interest. Of course, I would probably have to go back to school to catch up on what I've missed." he said, nodding to the waitress as Oksana thanked her.
"Yes, their service has always been excellent."

"you are rather lucky, I gave up everything to move here for research, I am currently working in trade for equipment with some form of artificial life form the fields of study I am in sadly require a great deal more sensitive and expensive equipment then some shovels, a pith hat, plane tickets and a sense of adventure!" Oksana leaned back and sighed slightly "I greatly hope that moving here was not a mistake. but I feel this area is the safest and most apt location to conduct testing"
“To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.”
― Oscar Wilde
"I think that modern archaeology requires a bit more that that, but your point is made." Rudy said with a small smile.
He then leaned forward with a questioning look. "What kind of research are you doing and what kind of sensitive and expensive equipment do you need? As I said, I have a fair amount of money saved up, far more than I could spend even in my lifetime."
Putting yourself in another persons shoes emotionally is something that everyone has to experience eventually. It's part of learning to be a human being. Roleplayers do it for fun.
"oh only a complete bio-chemical lab, a few super computers, possibly some atomic test equipment as well, but I don't want to be targeted by Iranian hit teams for a counter weight or something silly like that....and what do you mean fair amount and more then you can spend? what is the catch and what is it that you want, nothing is ever truthfully free" she said leaning forwards and sipping her drink eyeing him with typical Russian pragmatism.
“To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.”

The entrance bell rung and the door opened. Those who were interested to see who would walk through it would observe the well-looked after figure of a man who appeared to be in his early thirties. He stood at 6'2“ and was dressed in an expensive looking black belted trench coat. Looking below the coat's tail, people would see dark blue pinstripe business slacks complete with overly shiny pointed shoes.
Sterk looked the shop from corner to corner, breathing in and savouring the delicious smell of the freshly made food. To a keen eye, it was obvious that Sterk, or rather the pseudonym he had adopted, Daniel Barrows, was expecting quite a meal.
Ray smiled up at the new customer, as TC and Enzo began carting several pizzas over to the other patrons.
"Ciao, Signore.... What can we make for you today?"
___________________________________
....Fly me to the moon and let me play among the stars...
Sterk peered at the menu, placing a hand on his chin and rubbing it thoughtfully.
“You have many scrumptious looking dishes. I would say... hmm...”
He removed his hand from his chin and grinned.
“Yes, the Ray's pie sounds particularly filling.”
"I've always liked the pragmatism of the Russian people. In this day and age of people not saying what they really mean or really want to say, unabashed pragmatism is refreshing, to be honest." Rudy admitted, leaning forward as well.
"I'm going to be honest with you, Oksana. It's fairly obvious that you're not completely human. From the amount of food you ordered, that change in your tone of voice when ordering, that oddly dense feeling when I shook your hand, and even the way you move and walk. Judging by the way certain flooring materials compress when you step on them and the denseness of your body, I'd say you probably weigh in the neighborhood of 600 lbs?" he surmised, speaking softer now.
Before she could answer, he continued. "But that's alright, because I'm not completely human either, at least not anymore. I don't know if you've ever studied the history of Titan City's heroes, but there was one that operated in the late 40's and early 50's called Hyperman. Then, in 1955, he just disappeared. That's because, in the spring of 1955, he murdered his friend and arch-rival Josef Wisnowski a.k.a. The Gamesman, and he quietly went to jail for 60 years. As I said earlier, I just got out a few months ago.I could have used the insanity defense and been served a much less severe punishment, but I was so remorseful and full of guilt over killing Josef that, against my lawyer's advice, I pled guilty. The reason I killed him, and the reason I could've used the insanity defense is that, at the time, I was blinded by grief over the death of my wife and child. Josef had nothing to do with their deaths, actually. That was orchestrated by two men who worked for him. He tried to stop them and even killed them, but the act was already done by then. My family was already dead. I arrived to find Josef and the two dead men in front of my burning house, and all I saw was red. I don't remember it, but I grabbed Josef and snapped his neck, even as he begged for me to stop."
At that point, Rudy looked away from her and bowed his head, trying to keep the memories from replaying in his head. After a moment, he looked back up at her, "I'm sure you have questions, but please let me finish. The reason I said that Josef was also my friend is that we use to be allies. Josef started out as a hero called The Gamesman. He used technological devices to fight crime. But Josef was always more pragmatic and believed that there were criminals who should just be killed because there was no hope for redemption. I did not believe in the whole judge, jury, and executioner system and we eventually became rivals. But, we still managed to stay on a friendly basis and even spent time together. And then I killed him. But Josef did something that I never expected. Josef was a rich man, and he willed a large amount of money to me after his death. Since I was already in jail and had no other use for it, I placed the entire sum in a high-yield savings account. You're very smart Oksana, so I'm sure that you can figure out what happens to 25 million dollars when you place it in a savings account at 5.5% interest for 60 years."
Rudy picked up a napkin, produced a pen from his pocket, and wrote something on the napkin, then passed it to Oksana. If she looks at it, there would be written $620,994,261.13. "So, as I said before, far more than I could spend in my lifetime, which is obviously extended since I'm over 80 and look like I'm still in my 30's. As far as catches, there are none. I want to use a portion of that money to help scientific research and I'm curious as to what exactly you're researching, seeing as it prompted you to give up everything you had and move to a new country with no equipment and no funding whatsoever."
Rudy leaned back and sipped at his drink, waiting for her to process all of the information he'd just dumped on her.
Putting yourself in another persons shoes emotionally is something that everyone has to experience eventually. It's part of learning to be a human being. Roleplayers do it for fun.
"Good choice, Signore. You taking it with you, or you gonna stay? Sit wherever you want, eh?"

“Thank you. I believe I'll grab a table, I always like my meals as fresh as possible.”
Sterk passes by the counter towards the restaurant area and occupies a free table. To keep himself busy, he pulls out his smartphone and taps at the screen, bringing up a map of Titan City and scanning the area around Ray's shop for points of potential interest.
Oksana's right arm shot upwards at the mention of murder, her left snapping over nearly as fast, both moving in a blur for a moment catching herself by the wrist and lowering her arms to the table her left hand gripping her right hard enough that the skin was turning red. a half embarrassed smile crossed her face and she nodded. "I am doing testing on my current condition, and if it is not reversible, how both parties involved could lead more productive lives. also the possibility of increasing the duration of cellular cohesion as a whole." She sighed knowing that did not tell much. "if you agree to fun all my equipment and lab material the total cost will be between 100 and 200 million US dollars. beyond that I would of course like to talk more about the situation, test parameters and subject in private with you. so you know exactly where your money is going. I cannot however guarantee and profitable return or marketable item from the research...which is why I figured I could not find a backer" she looked at him with a mixture of distrust and mild disbelief that faded the -moment- there pies and wings hit the table. she picked up wings and stripped then in one go her eye color shifting to a soft yellow for a moment then returning to there normal blue. ="my god it feels like I have not eaten in a month. Thank you for the food"= (=Russian=) she mumbled between destroying the pile of it in-front of her like a starved man in-front of a ham.
“To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.”
― Oscar Wilde
After catering to the tables, Mahala checked the order screen, and saw her delivery was up. "Looks like the Pestorini's done! I'm out on the run," she said and got all the stuff together from the varying kitchens and made her way by Marcus. "I'll call you if it gets hairy," she whispered in his ear before heading out the door, to which he promptly nodded.
Writer catwoman at play...
Rudy had been so busy telling his story and reliving the memories that he didn't notice her almost violent reaction.
He listened as she laid out her whole plan. "I'm not interested in a profitable return or a marketable item. As I said before, I want to help in the advancement of sci..." he trailed off as the food arrived and Oksana laid waste to her wings, followed by the first of her pies. He did notice the momentary change in eye coloration when she first started on the wings.
As Rudy tucked into his own pie, he mulled over some of the things she'd said. Current condition, both parties, duration of cellular cohesion as a whole...
Whatever change had taken place in Oksana's body, it was obviously major and was what she wanted to do her research on. "At this point, I think we've moved beyond a simple discussion at a restaurant table. Let's finish this meal and then I can show you the local grocery. Was there anywhere else you were going to need to go after that?"
Putting yourself in another persons shoes emotionally is something that everyone has to experience eventually. It's part of learning to be a human being. Roleplayers do it for fun.
She swallowed the half of a slice she had in her mouth and nodded "yes I will need to find a clothing store, as well as pick up a blanket and some pillows, I have one change of clothing and some toiletries in my apartment as it stands right now"
“To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.”
― Oscar Wilde
Rudy gave her a small smile. "I can help you find all of the places to get those things and if you need any help getting started on the right foot here, I can assist with them as well. Mom and Dad taught me that when you make a friend and they need help, you should do what you can to help them."
Without saying as much, Rudy was trying to make it clear that he was willing to bankroll her clothing, furniture, food, and toiletry needs so that she could get a proper start in Titan City.
Putting yourself in another persons shoes emotionally is something that everyone has to experience eventually. It's part of learning to be a human being. Roleplayers do it for fun.
Oksana eyed him again "my parents use to say, when people say they will give you free things, they are communists and should not be trusted" she smiled a bit "but I am not overly worried, the worst that could happen here is you -don't- do as you say." she was nearly finished with her food by this point destroying the full order in about as much time as a normal person would eat two slices. "Thank you for all the help, if you set up a fund, and get me an account number, I will start ordering, I have found a shop already that deals in such things quietly"
“To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.”
― Oscar Wilde
"I'll get the details for the fund worked out as soon as possible. In the meantime, since you're already finished, I'll have mine boxed up and we can handle the rest of your shopping. Then, if you're willing, I'd like to go back to one of our apartments to discuss your condition and the research you plan on undertaking." Rudy answered, raising a hand to signal for a box.

The shop bell rings, and a teenager walks slowly in. Hair hair is a dark brown, almost black, and lays straight down to her shoulders. A thick lock sweeps across her brow, partially obscuring what look to be blue eyes.
Her clothing seems a bit the worse for wear, faded patches and a mended tear or two in her dark blue jeans. Her aconverse sneakers are scuffed and well worn, and a black tank top sits just everso slightly askew on her shoulders.
The girl clinks and jingles softly as she walks slowly, carefully to the front podium, pausing yet again to look very carefully around. Wound around her neck and shoulder several times are lengths of thin, dark, and strangely shiny chain-- a length of which she toys with idly while waiting for someone to notice her.

With a clink at the door, a redheaded teen enters the restaurant at a relaxed, sauntering pace. He is obviously in his late teenage years, and is wearing a scientist's labcoat, well-worn jeans, a black shirt with the periodic table, and a pair of black, well-used tennis shoes. He walks in with an air of familiarity, and steps into line behind the dark-haired girl in front of him, searching the menu. If the girl happens to look back and make eye contact with him, he will give a shy smile.
He is soon followed by a large, burly, seven foot tall robot, who barely manages to fit through the door. He is quite gentle with anything he touches, presumably in an effort not to cause property damage. Each of his steps cause a slight vibration, loose objects shaking ever so slightly. He follows the young man up to the counter, but remains behind him.
Nick speaks, talking to the robot behind him, "What should we get today, Levi?"
The robot speaks, a low, rumbling sound, but surprisingly polite, "Master Ridley, the pronoun 'we' is innacurate. I am here to merely -watch- you eat, as we do every Wednesday. I do not have a preference as to what you eat. All pizza looks the same when you eat it, Master Ridley."
Nick sighs. "It's a figure of speech. Don't worry about it, Levi. Anyway, I think I'll--"
Levi interrupts, "I cannot worry, Master Ridley. It is an emotion. I do not have emotions."
Nick sighs again. "I know, Levi. Just hush while I think. You're probably disturbing others."
Levi tilts his head to one side, in realization. "I am sorry, Master Ridley." Levi speaks to the girl in front of them, "I am sorry, Miss. I did not mean to disturb you."
Nick facepalms, shaking his head. Levi was just making it worse. Nick peeked out from behind his hand. He was blushing. "Sorry."
The girl immediately swung her head toward the door at the sound of another person entering. Good, she could use the help, and was not afraid to ask. However, several things happen notably at once.
Firstly, her gaze goes to the boy, but it is obvious at once that something is amiss-- her gaze reaches his face, then slides several inches away, just slightly off... though she seems to sense the smile and returns it gently. As the boy drew close, he would easily be able to tell that though her eyes are a pretty, sky blue-- it is the milky blue of blindness.
Secondly, her gaze had slid from the boy, moving eyes indicating some function, directly to Levi. She is intent, and a smile breaks on her face.
"It's no bother! I love to meet robots, they're so... clear!"

Nick immediately notices the girl's eyes. He had only known a few blind people, and knew enough not to be rude and call attention to it. He was sure she received enough of that from everyone else.
Levi nods slightly. "It is my pleasure." Levi looks to Nick, "See, Master Ridley? She does not mind."
Nick sighs gratefully at her response. "Some people don't seem to like them. I do." Nick grins towards Levi, "But then again, I -have- to. My name's Nick. This is Levi."
"Allison," the girl said with a smile, pushing the lock of thock hair from her face. She reached confidently and with great accuracy to Levi's hand.
"Great to meet you Levi!"
She then reaches less certainly for Nick's hand, but pretty confident all the same. "And you too, Nick. I was really hoping someone nice like you would come along and tell me what passes for pepperoni here? I can't see the menu." Her clouded eyes twinkle.

Nick smiles, if shyly. "Well you are in luck. I make regular visits. Let's see." Nick steps up to stand by Allison, attempting to aid her in her Search for The Slice. "Hmm. Pepperoni Parm is probably what you're looking for. It has Ray's special sauce, pepperoni slices, and grated parmesian cheese."
The girl smothers a laugh at being told the name of the slice. "Well! I guess I could've figured that out myself... I think I'll have two."
She swung her gaze to Levi. "What are you made out of, Levi? It's a pretty color, but I don't suppose it's the color you really are. ...Did you guys want some company? "

Nick smiles, laughing sheepishly at Allison's comment about the name of the pizza. Nick then speaks to Ray, "I'd like a couple pieces of the original please."
Levi tilts his head to one side, curious about her statement but responds to her question, "I am composed mostly of titanium, carbonsteel, and tungsten carbide."
Nick is also perplexed at her statement. "You said he was a pretty color? And yes, we would love company, if that's okay."
Allison grins, responding to Nick first as she walks toward the nearest booth, hand outstretched to touch the edge of the table and slip onto a seat. " I hope I'm not such a jerk that I'd be all-- you want company? Too bad! Haha!"
The chains around neck and shoulder clink merrily, but are obviously not steel. Much too dark. "And yeah, he's a pretty color! I think it's the tungsten..." her blue eyes are friendly as she explains with the first touch of shyness, rubbing her neck. "I can see a little, but only over the past few years. Anything metal is super clear-- I can manipulate it-- and there's something about fields. Magnetic fields. It helps me see people... kinda. Its hard to explain, having never seen colors til awhile ago... And it's still probably nothing lik normal people see ..."

Allison smiles-- somewhat askew-- up at TC with obvious surprise at the drink. She has a sip, smacks her lips a little, and sighs happily. "Soda is like, my hugest vice in life," she confesses, rubbing between the chains on her neck. "Thanks so much," there's a pause, as she somehow identifies gender, and adds, "-sir!"

Nick smiles at her humorous retort, following her to a booth. "Levi, be careful getting into the booth. Remember how I showed you?"
Levi nods, sliding into the booth with a little difficulty. He was awkward in small spaces, but eventually he found a position that wouldn't have him breaking anything.
At her next statement, Nick's eyes light up, and Allison would hear the excitement in his voice."Really!? Ah, that's sooo cool! Do you know how you do it? Any of it? And were you born this way? And how much metal can you manipulate at once? And--" Nick catches himself, blushing furiously. He adds shyly,"Sorry...When I get excited I ask questions..."
Allison smiles, the first faint hint of color on her face as she scrubs the back of her head lightly.
"Easy there! Lemme think for a second! " she laughed. Her laugh seems ready and easy. "Okay sooo... No, I wasn't born with it-- or maybe I was? I lost my sight when I was two, so I kinda remember colors, but... I didnt start uh, 'seeing things' again til I was 13." She sips from her soda from the edge of her glass, moving it to her mouth confidently.
"Hmm... I don't know how I do it, it just happens. I do know that it has something to do with magnetic fields though. That's why metals show up super crisp and clear, like Levi!" She gives the robot a direct look and grin, as if to demonstrate. "I dunno how much metal, but I'd say at least as much as Levi."
"But you? You're a person, and people have fields, but they're more vauge... Blobby. If you were like, in a suit or something though, armor or something like that, it holds your field in and then I could see you!"
"I could totally pull a 'blind person' cliche though and just touch your face." She waggles her brows suggestively, fizzing with contained amusement. "Most people don't like it though so I have my own way. Y'know, aside from the fact that everybody vibes on a different wavelength so it's easy to tell blob people apart if I know them already..."
She paused, nursing her soda. "I totally think your talking a lot is contagious."

Nick smiles at her relaxed nature. He says to her last statement, hoping to divert attention from his outburst, "It usually is. Sorry about that. So. Are you from around here? Or are you new?"
Allison shrugs a little bit. "I'm pretty much from around here... I just usually stay around Ironport." She fidgets a little. "Lots of metal stuff, y'know... 'see' better. I work out there a lot, helping with metal shipments and forging and stuff like that..."
She's obviously not really all that proud of where she lives.

Levi speaks, "But you cannot swim, Master Ridley."
"Levi. Seriously? Just gonna say that in front of people now?" Nick isn't mad, but merely embarrassed.
Levi responds. "Am I incorrect in the assumption that it is public information?"
Nick shakes his head. "Yes, it is, but --"
"Then there is not a problem with me stating it?"
"Don't you pull a logical excuse on me. You know I haven't gotten lessons since the incident with the octopus. And it's not like -you- can swim."
"But I have a reasonable excuse. I am too heavy."
Nick waves him off, "Whatever." Nick clears his throat, looking back to Allison, "I don't really mind the face touching cliche. I'd go insane not knowing what people looked like except blobs. But maybe that's just a sighted person problem."
Allison had started to reply a bit uncomfortably to Nick's expression of regret at never meeting her before, When Levi cuts in. She paused, tilting her head a bit like an animal at a sound, and had stayed that way while listening.
When she can finally get a word in edgewise, she's silent for a moment... Then laughs softly, shaking her head. "I like you guys fine, but I'm seriously glad right now that I don't have a robot who blurts out my 'public knowledge'..."
Allison shakes her head a little, blushing. Maybe just a little. To distract herself, she unwinds one of the chains-- the one from her shoulder-- and lays the unusual metal on the table with a clatter and clink. She turns her head toward the shop proper, looking to see if anyone's coming with their food, before asking, "Are you sure about the face thing? I mean, sometimes it doesn't bother me not to know for awhile. I didn't see ANYTHING for like, ten years..."
She hesitates, then admits candidly, pushing the lock of hair behind an ear to expose her eye again, "...it's really nice to know, though."

Dressed in a decorative Apokalyptykult band shirt his brown hair spiked his jeans worn blue and he had those way to small to be useful round sunglasses. Thought looking different then when he was at the park Nick might recognize the figure of the Sandman drug dealer Maggie ran across. He headed to the counter "I have some Zio Vincenzo's Fried Mozzarella , followed by two slices of Nonna's Favorite and a soda."

Nick shrugs. "It's up to you. If you're uncomfortable with it, you don't have to." Nick grins, "I personally wouldn't want to put my hands all over someone's face until I knew if they bathed regularly. Which I do, thank you."
Nick is curious about the chain, but he refrains from asking. Allison seemed nice, he didn't want to end up interrogating her.
When the Sandman enters the establishment, Levi speaks quietly to Nick, "That is the Sandman. He has changed his appearance but facial recognition, among other investigative tools, confirms his identity with Maddeline's description. Do I apprehend him, Master Ridley?"
Nick shakes his head. "Ray'd have a fit, there's no fighting allowed." Nick looks over to Allison, somewhat worried, gesturing towards the stranger, "That guy over there's a wanted drug dealer. What d'you think we should do?"
"Well, you sound nice, you don't 'look' shady, and I trust you that you bathe. I mean, if you have enough money to have Levi, you've got enough to take showers," Allison had said, leaning forward and reaching out one hand. "Don't worry-- I'm a little bit poor, but I at least wash my hands--"
She hesitates, pulls back her hand as their pizzas arrive, fragrant and steamy. The distraction of the drug dealer is a bit more to blame, though.
Allison 'looks', turning her head that way, and makes a small face of displeasure. "Ughck, he sure is! He looks... gross, " she finishes lamely in an undertone. She also seems surprised, and no little bit uncomfortable to be asked what they should do.
"Uh... Hmm... there's no fighting in here, right? Well... If he sees you and you guys know each other, I guess it'd be weird but nobody's gonna get hurt." She toys with the chain on the table for a moment, making the weirdly pretty , dark metal clink a bit. "Dealers gotta eat, too," she says lamely, then adds as she 'looks' down at her plate, "but I guess if you wanted to try to 'get him' or something, you'd have to wait til he left?"

Nick felt bad for bringing up the fact of income. Even if he hadn't made Allison feel this way, he hated making people feel inferior.
At Allison's response to his question, he blows a gust of air upward, causing a few strands of hair to shift. He also slouches in his seat slightly, thinking. He looks over at Levi, "Leave him be. This is nuetral territory. In a while we can give a tip to the police, either after he leaves or we do."
Nick looks grateful for the pizza, thanking the server.
He suddenly looks quite nervous. He possibly just realized the girl he was talking to was quite pretty, or he came to the realization that he'd probably already embarrassed himself by not allowing her to speak. Most likely both.
He says shyly and quietly, avoiding her gaze, if even out of habit, "I'm-I'm sorry about just kind of approaching you taking over the conversation. I didn't mean to, you know...make things awkward...and be careful, the pizza is hot." He adds the last bit quickly, as if to keep her from noticing he had just stated the other.
He took his drink and headed to a booth pulsing just a moment seeing Levi the shook his head it was a different bot so he relaxed again and settled down sitting so his right leg was stretched out on the booth and his back against the wall.

Allison smiles a bit strangely, but 'looks' back up across the table at Nick she says quietly, but with some sense of finality, "Chill, okay?" She laughs a little, though with a hint of irony. "Everybody finds it kinda awkward to talk to me at first. It's something I got used to pretty fast-- don't worry, okay? Things will feel better after awhile, and you'll get used to me, too. Or, I hope that's true with you-- sometimes it's not and it sucks because I don't think I make a bad friend if you stick around."
Allison relaxes a little, huffs a bemused sound and leans on the table. "Sooo-- to get some of the weird out of the way, bring your face over here so I can get a better 'look!' Plus, it'll distract you from bring bummed about the dealer, AND your pizza can cool off?" She is trying to sound persuasive, smiling and raising one dark brow.

Nick grins. He was starting to like this girl. He leans forward on the table, enough for her to reach across and touch him. He says with a shy smile, "I'm awkward with everyone, so try not to feel -too- special, okay?"
As he waits for his meal he pulls out a pendant and spins the inner part an illusion of colors flair from it as he gaze into the mini light show.

Allison snorts amusedly, and reaches up both hands this time, abandoning the chain on the table. She moves slowly and predictably, her fingertips finally touching Nick at about his temples. Her gaze seems to follow the path of her fingers with great interest, cloudy blue eyes moving as softly as her touch-- which is so light it's almost negligible.
Her fingertips trace up Nick's forhead, over the brows and between them to the bridge of the nose. Down the length of his nose now, then delicately around the eyes, over cheeks and cheekbones. She tilts her head the other way as she traces both ears, then runs two fingers through his hair, feeling for its length and styling.
"Y'know," Allison says as her fingers trace jawline down to chin, "--this is only partly to make a mental image. I really can actually 'see' your face about as clearly as I can see Levi--" This is usually the awkward part, as she doesnt neglect to run her fingertips lightly but clinically over Nick's mouth. She keeps talking softly as she does, continuing, "--it's more because my field-- the way it vibes-- is close enough to yours now that it interferes with how your field vibes. It's like I can see the way all of that bounces off you.."
Her fingertips slid down his neck, to the hollow between his collarbones, then pulled away. She nestled her shoulders into the seat and considered Nick thoughtfully across her pizza. "...Thanks. "

Nick blushes as she explores his face, and blushes more when he realizes she can probably feel the heat it causes. "No problem. Glad to know I'm not a blob anymore."
He takes a small bite from his pizza, obviously not truly hungry, but eating anyway. After he swallows, he asks, "So, those chains don't look like any metal I'm familiar with. Is it rare?"
Allison let her hair slide forward a bit to hide a bit of her own blush. It didn't usually effect her to do that...
She picks a pepperoni off her first slice and pops in into her mouth as distraction from her thoughts-- and immediately sighs with happiness. After a few hefty bites, she considers the chain on the table with a fond smile. "It's Hematite," she says affectionately. "Not the strongest thing around, but it has a lot of color and clarity to it-- it's my favorite stuff to work with so far. Really, anything with a lot of iron in it."
She nudges it toward him with the back of her wrist. "You can check it out if you want to-- even if it broke I could fix it!"

Allison laughs, glad for a reason to, again. "I made it myself," she says with some pride, munching through her first slice, and licking her fingers.
"Like I said, some stuff is clearer than others-- it took a week or so to get enough, but I am a pretty badass miner. Don't have to do much, when I find it. Just oozes up from the ground."
She smiles, holds out one hand to take the chain back. "I don't think we're supposed to use powers in here, or you would've assaulted somebody already. I'll show you what I mean when you're done if you wanna see. I'll take a link off so you can have it."

Levi speaks, "The term 'assault' is not entirely accurate. 'Apprehend' would be a more concise term. I did not plan to attack him. Only confront him. But your meaning is understood."
Nick shushes him, "Correcting people you aren't familiar with is rude, Levi."
Levi nods. "Apologies, Miss Allison. I was attemtping to prove that I did not mean to hurt him. A fight would be his choice, not mine."
Allison's expression is sad for a moment, some memory stirring through her face... She shakes her head somewhat, trying to clear away the memory, and nods at Levi with a little attempt at a smile. "It's okay Levi. I guess it must be... if not hard, at least kinda challenging trying to understand human things."
Her appetite seems to have dwindled, but she toys with a pepperoni anyway, saying to Nick, "Really, it's fine about the link. I can always find more--like literally in the ground. Here, lemme show you, if you're sure it's okay..."
Allison takes a loose end of the chain and peers down at it in her way. In a heartbeat the last link turns to liquid, and puddles in her upturned palm. She smiles, but again with a touch of irony, her opposite hand touching the liquid stuff with fingertips. After a quick ovular stir, the Hematite reforms into a chain link, and she holds it out for Nick to take. "See?"

Nick grins widely at Allison's show of power. "That is soooo freaking cool, I have to admit." He takes it carefully, accidentally brushing her hand, which causes him to blush, but looks over the metal link with interest. He looks back up at her, still a little amazed. "Do all metals melt into a little puddle like that when you manipulate them?"
The sandman was now enjoying his own pizza. Allison might note that the metal of his pendant was ultra purified Platinum and the pendant itself had very fine crafted mechanical parts like one would see in a watch. There would be other elements in his coat pockets that would be picked up with magnetic fields more then a normal drug dealer would carry. The man himself was paying them no mind as he ate in peace.

Allison had glanced curiously over at the Sandman, head cocked, senses identifying metals, and the vibrating fields in his pockets giving her a briefly clear "look"...
She swung her head back to Nick, smiling a bit and not minding the inadvertent touch to her palm. "It depends. If I want them to, or if it's a small enough quantity, sometimes I can get it to liquify like that. Mostly it's just messing with the properties of metal things-- denser or lighter, stronger, softer, bendy, sharp... I can move things too sometimes--" she adds, then stops herself with an uncomfortable look again. She stalls for time, nibbling her pizza.

Allison smiles wryly, nudging her crust around on her plate. "... I dunno if I ever will use my stupid Titan name... so I won't leave you behind. Hell, I wish I could have been smart like you... when I needed to be. "

You feel isolated because even if you're smart, you can't be both smart and sociable." No, he barely knew this girl and he was saying this kind of stuff to her? This wasn't supposed to happen.
He blushes, looking down at his plate. He glances back up at her for a quick moment, saying, "So...I guess I mean you have to be careful what you wish for..."
The sandman was done with his meal and headed out the door putting in some earbuds to listen to his music as he does.
