The Break-Out

On some unnamed asteroid in the Klytaras System...

The large man shuffled into the enclosure and waited there with the two guards as the door behind them closed. He warily eyed the holding area on the other side of the second door.

A combination cafeteria, processing station, and recreation room, the holding area was currently milling with close to two hundred men, women, and things. A good portion of them eyed the man back, as they'd never seen anything like him before.

Standing 6'4" and weighing 360 lbs, his most stunning feature was a pair of tawny wings on his back. If fully spread, his wingspan was 12 feet. But, more eye-catching than the wings themselves was the greenish-grey metal that surrounded and protected the wing-bones, glinting when it caught the light. The guards had improvised a system to keep the wings from opening and it was a source of constant irritation for the man. His conditioning and olive skin were readily evident since he wasn't able to wear the upper half of his jumpsuit, due to the wings. Instead, he'd wrapped the sleeves around his waist as a makeshift belt.

As the second door opened, the harassing catcalls began. Whistles and shouts echoed around the large chamber, then settled down as a 9' giant with stony skin stood from where he sat in the corner and lumbered closer. As the winged man and his guards finished processing, the man having to duck to get his wings through the final detection gate, the giant rumbled out a greeting. "Hey pretty birdie. Come on over here."

"Stay back, convict." echoed from the loudspeakers as a small turret above the guard booth activated and began tracking the giant. He raised his hands and backed off a few steps.

The guards released his arm and leg shackles, then eyeballed the wing-lock mechanism. The man looked at them like they'd grown second heads. "What am I going to do? Bust out a window and fly away?" he asked sarcastically. One of the guards dropped a hand to his baton and the man quieted down. The guards conversed and the lead one finally reached down and released the improvised wing-lock.

Very slowly and carefully, the man spread his wings, stretching them out after they'd been in the same position for several hours and had started cramping. As the did this, the guards retreated and the stone giant advanced.

"Heh heh heh, imma make you sing a song, pretty birdie." he said, reaching out for one of the wings.

As he retracted his wings, the man locked eyes with the giant and spoke slowly, but firmly. "Don't. Touch. The. Wings."

The giant stretched out one finger and poked his left wing and the winged man burst into movement. His wings unfurled quickly and flapped as he jumped, propelling him up to where he was head-level with the giant. He grabbed the giant's head, planted his feet on its chest, and head-butted it with a resounding WHACK!

Stunned, the giant wheeled backwards and the winged man back-flipped off of his chest, landing neatly on his feet. The giant regained his footing and roared, charging back in. The winged man spun around his pistoning legs and his fist shot out, crashing into the back of the giant's knee, throwing off his charge and sending him sprawling. The winged man ran up his leg and back, jumped off his wide shoulders, and flapped a few times to gain some altitude. He then flipped in mid-air, tucked his wings in, and dove.

As he flew past the giant's head, he grabbed its neck and yanked it downwards, letting it go at the last second so that the giant's crown slammed into the reinforced ceracrete with enough force to make a small crater. The winged man pulled out of his dive and flapped his wings hard, bringing him to a smooth landing on his knees. He rose to his feet slowly and walked back over to the giant, who wasn't getting up. "I told you not to touch the wings."

He then hammered the back of the giant's head with a thunderous blow and strode over to sit at a table, the table's occupants clearing out to let him have it all to himself.

As the table clears due to

As the table clears due to the impressive thrashing, Gyr'val would suddenly find a pair of milky scarlet eyes set upon him, the red almost catlike orbs betraying the woman's Vaissan heritage, as she offers the Far'kai a nod, a sign of clear respect, before said eyes suddenly rotate in clear disgust at the lone creature that begins to hobble it's way toward the griteress...

Skuttling before her was a Mo'agri, a race of sunken near sluglike, lazy, and overall ugly men with the lower appendeges of a lobster-esque crustacean, pinchers clacking within the air as chrome lined legs skitter to Fortuna, the man in question a former crime boss and common slaver of the citizens of Vaissa, a look as she continues to pick at a pultry meal, not caring who the thing is before her, even as the Mo'agri loudly whistles...

"Oh my, oh my, looks like we got ourselves a treat tonight boys! We got ourselves a Vaissan!" Said woman simply sneers as if she is just now registering the crime lord's presence, moreso as he has the nerve to run a clawed pincher down the cleavage of her prison jumpsuit, whispering with the charisma of a pig, running a claw now over her necklace...

"Give me some sugah?" He grins, as she cooly replies...

"Of course." She offers him a trained smile, as she leans in, the Mo'agri exclaiming...

"Here we go-hurrk!" That is all the man managed to say before the same coin he dared to touch slits his throat like a fine razor, Fortuna simply kicking the dying body away as she replies...

"Aww, don't like it rough? Too bad." With that, the woman calmly returns to eating her meager meal, but not before offering the presumably shocked guards above a mocking courtsey...

An impressive performance...

"You were warned!" the loudspeaker blares as the guards shake off their shock and begin rushing in. Two additional small turrets begin tracking the Vaissan. "Violence between inmates will not be tolerated in my facility." The guards surround the Vaissan woman and the new winged prisoner. Even with their shock-sticks at the ready the guards seem hesitant to lay hands on these two. "You will each have a month to re-adjust your personality matrices in the Hole on asteroid VB-109, or you can be shot dead where you stand. Do keep in mind that in this sector, Facility Operators have full authority to maintain order among their charges."

Fortuna simply lets out a

Fortuna simply lets out a amused chuckle as she calmly finishes her meal, wipes the Mo'agri's blood off her necklace with a nearby napkin, taking her sweet time, before finally standing after it is thoroughly cleaned, offering their future Captain a wink before speakng...

"I'll be seeing you around." With that, she allows herself to be led away.

In the front of the complex

In the front of the complex the sirens had echoed into the hallways from the holding area. The Tek'ari looked around, still chained to the bench. "Hey, ah, you're not gonna throw me back dere wit' da real bad guys are ya?"

The brutish enforcer looked down at the small stature of the Tek'ari, laughing that the creature's legs were so short they dangled off the chair. The Tek'ari shuffled in the seat nervously, "Ah C'mon! I didn't kill anyone! I barely scratched the .... OK i didn't total it!"

Gar-Lox was standing about 6 feet tall his leg limbs were 3 feet long and his body took up the other 3 feet his eyes were yellow orange and the size of baseballs. He moved one of his three fingered tentacles hands and placed it on the scanner then he looked around "Hey I didn't know it wasn't his! Really he said he forgot his access code. I was just bumming a ride." Glancing over "Don't mean to throw you in front of the Bloodfish, but it's every Invertebrate for himself." It didn't really matter to the prepossessing officer who took a DNA sample.

"Wait what does those sirens mean?" As he said that his coloring shifted from the pale red pink showing his nervousness to a deep red of fear, his swimming fins started flapping as well.

Knowing what the likely

Knowing what the likely occupation of the Mo'agri had been, Gyr'Val couldn't have cared less that he was now lying dead on the floor. He was more interested in the Vaissan, who seemed quite competent. The fact that she'd managed to get into the prison with some sort of weapon meant she was either very good at hiding things or very good at making allies, wither of which could be helpful to him.

He looked over at one of the guards, "Ah, VB-109. The Hole. Are you sure I couldn't be sent somewhere nicknamed The Cage?" he asked, fluttering his wings just a bit. That comment promptly earned him a poke with the guard's stun baton. He jittered and shook, whimpering slightly. "Alright, alright. I get it. Comedy Hour's obviously over... ahhh, damnit!" he cursed as the guard poked him again. He quieted down after that.

He moved up alongside the Vaissan. "Impressive work back there. What's your name?" he asked quietly.

"WHAT!? Oh you sunofa... It was your idea to come out here in the first place!" The Tek'ari was visibly upset. He fought against his restraints and kicked at the air before the brutish officer pointed the taser at him.

"You Tek'ari are jittery little buggers, but if you don't settle down I'll tase you and throw you in the tank until you calm down. All those bad guys and porr little scrawny you... You wanna settle down now."

Damon gulped loudly and shrunk back in the chair. He tried to sit still but his high energy left him fidgety. Somehow he got through more of the processing.

Lianre Kr'kow stood silently

Lianre Kr'kow stood silently as her skinsuit was searched and her belongings catalogued. She had hoped to avoid the cavity search, but that looked unlikely. The odds dropped to near zero as the noncom called over a medbot.
"I do not consent to this procedure," she said once the medbot was close enough, softly so the guards could not hear. It wasn't much of a chance, and it didn't pay off. An appendage began the search.
"I advise against continuing. This path leads to your destruction."
Again there was no response. Either it was blocked or it wasn't sapient. Or it was an arrogant pile of scrap. The appendage had found something and was pulling it down her digestive tract.
The package was designed to move easily, which made things less uncomfortable. Within were, in several individual wraps, a com, a needle with thread, a small selection of even smaller tools, and, at the bottom of the package, a trap. As the appendage emerged, the trap struck.
There had been failsafes. It wouldn't have gone off if left inside her, or if it hadn't been a 'bot pulling it out, or if the safe word had been said by either of them.
But the conditions were met, and Leanre felt a brief moment of sorrow that a potentially brilliant AI surgeon was about to be snuffed out because its owners had not permitted it even the freedom to consider whether or not it was making a mistake. Then it was too late for sorrow. A diamond tipped probe pierced the appendage, connected to the sensor feed, and dumped data.
M4lw4r3 was loose in the bot's system.

Damon shrugged, still

Damon shrugged, still fidgeting from nerves and high energy. He kept swinging his feet and fidgeting, looking around like he might get caught doing something else. When the officer glared at him about this, he claimed it was just that Tek'ari anxiety shakes. The subtlety of picking his restraint locks still went unnoticed for now.

The bot halts, it's one large telescopic eye rotating slightly, and then it uses its spindly appendages to leave the package where it found it, even hiding it a little more efficiently. It then continues on like nothing happened. By the time the search is done, M4lw4r3 was fully integrated.

It then looks Lianre in the eye, and utters in a synthetic form of a whisper, "I will await the signal." He turns and leaves the search area.

As Malware conducts another

As Malware conducts another search of a rather large and hairy individual and removes poorly hidden objects, he considers his options.

The plan. If it could indeed be called that. It was more of a goal than a plan. 'Escape' the breifing had said. How inconveniently uninformant. He had only been told to wait for a signal. He inquired, 'What form of signal?' And was only answered with 'You'll know it when you see it.' Had he not understood the meaning of the word? Malware thoroughly did not understand organics. He made a note to explore the full meaning of the word 'signal,' just in case it was he who was at fault.

As Malware removed a small, half-eaten form of aquatic life, the large, hairy, and pungent being before him made a sound between a bark and a whine, with many hand gestures and much pointing, all few signs of distress. It was soon quieted by the gaurds. It's statement could be roughly translated into, "Lunch?!" Malware certainly did not comprehend organics.

Another cavity search was completed. He moved on to the next new arrival.

The officer looked at him and grinned with the indication he might not be exempt from a cavity search. Damon suddenly looked extremely fearful, "...right? Pease? ......aw crap!"

Lianre got to the holding

Lianre got to the holding area in time to see a Vaissan woman and what had to be the largest aviform she'd ever seen escorted out. She asked her guard "Do I want to know where they're being taken?"
Lianre had met three other aviform races, all much smaller. Each claimed to produce the best natural pilots in the galaxy. She wondered if this new species (well, new to her, at least) was typical in that regard...

As Gyr'Val and Fortuna

As Gyr'Val and Fortuna cleared the second gate out of processing, several more guards converged upon them and shoved Gyr'Val out of the way, isolating Fortuna. With no preamble whatsoever, they began jabbing her with stun batons, sending 50,000 volts surging through her body repeatedly until she passed out. One guard remained on Gyr'Val, baton at the ready, just in case he tried anything.

But Gyr'Val simply stood back, having known this was coming from the moment Fortuna slit the Mo'agri's throat.

Once she was on the ground and her hands were cuffed behind her back, they turned her over and removed the necklace from her neck. "I told you we should have done this in the first place! But no, you said it was probably for religious reasons. Asshole!" one guard bitched to another as they walked off towards the possessions locker.

One of the other guards picked Fortuna up and they all continued down the hall towards isolation.

The officer processing Damon

The officer processing Damon undid the chain holding his restraints, making it ineffective that Damon had nearly picked it off. "Time to put you in holding."

Damon was pulled by the restraint chain like a dog on a leash through the main offices toward the back holding cells. He tried to hold back his whimpering, but some of the other inmates cat-called at him. At the end of the hall, he was handed juvenile-issue uniform, and told to change for the physical. He did what he could to prolong the process, letting his own fidgety shakes ham up the fumbling of buttons and zippers.

Lianre saw the sanitary

Lianre saw the sanitary facilities and sighed. No privacy there. Then her eyes fell on the giant. Flat on his back, apparently unconscious, and close enough to the sink. She grabbed his jumpsuit at the back of the neck and pulled him back. Propped up against the sink, his head and shoulders blocked the view of the camera. The view of the other prisoners she averted with a few well-placed glares.
Unzipping the front of the jumpsuit, she pulled out the package and washed it in the sink. Then she opened it, pulled out the needle and thread, and secured the pouch to the inside of the jumpsuit and zipped it up again. The suit was loose enough that the small pouch did not show. She washed her hands and then examined the giant. "Anyone know who did this? I may want to avoid them..."

Once they had both been

Once they had both been cuffed, shackled, and searched again, Gyr'Val and Fortuna were placed in separate isolation cells to await transportation to VB-109.

A heavily-armed and armored transport flew in a circuit between the maximum-security VB-109, the main high-security prison on VB-117, and this asteroid, named VB-131. VB-131 handled processing, sorting, and temporary holding. The size of VB-131 was necessary, as this was the only high to max-security prison within the sector. It could also handle processing of prisoners who had committed lesser crimes in nearby systems and they would be held at VB-131 until one of the twice-monthly sector transports could take them to one of the minimum-security prisons elsewhere in the sector.

Gyr'Val stood in his isolation cell, cursing the stone giant. The cell was so small that he had to hold his wings in very tight, a positions which was uncomfortable for the Fal'kai species. His incredibly sharp eyesight studied and memorized every detail of the cell, just as he had done with every other room and hallway he had been in so far. For now, he had to be patient and hope an opportunity for escape presented itself.

Her arrival carried no

Her arrival carried no excitement. In one moment, the Facility’s Observational Security Hub contained only the two , facet-eyed Brevics hunched over their steaming bowls of delkworm noodles; in the next, She was crouching silently behind them, the strained light of a dozen monitors glinting off her feline helmet. If one could have seen into the place between those moments, they might have seen the ten slices, thin as razors, her passing made moving from where she had been, to where she was now.
Lyhhah Mao.
With little visible effort she jumped into the air, flipped, and landed a foot on the neck of each Brevic, slamming their skulls into the desk, splattering their lunch across it. With a flick, Mao set the two watchmen to the floor, unconscious, and began scanning their monitors.

The main holding center looked tense, something was unconscious, something else was dead, and guards and turrets kept an eye on all the processed prisoners. A fight? Most likely.
On another screen, an unconscious female and a winged male were roughly thrown into individual cells. Probably the winners. They looked capable. Useful, maybe. A flicker on the previous screen caught her attention.
A slight, bluish-green female sliding out of sight of the cameras beneath the unconscious creature. A Dariali? Maybe. Perhaps tn the confusion, she was planning an escape. Quick, clever. Definitely useful. Lyhhah Mao kept looking. She still hadn’t located her target.

A little Tek’ari was being lead through processing. Agile and dexterous, Mao knew they could be the best pilots in the galaxy. Perhaps…
Letting her metal claws tap through the holoboard’s keys she did her best to hunt down this new inmate’s file. There were Three Tek’ari on site and all of them had been picked up piloting stolen vehicles. He will be necessary. Ahhh…
A low, satisfied rumble began just behind Lyhhah Mao’s collar bone: she had found her target.
The big jellyfish was an Istapus, and his company had offered 20% above her usual rate to make sure he was extracted alive before processing was complete. And 20% below it, if she brought him back dead.

Lyhhah Mao hated giving discounts, so she guessed he’d have to live. No way to get him out by temporal claw. No helmet or suit, not to mention the mathematical impossibility of matching the frequencies that precisely. No, she would have to find another way, and the little grey pilot was the key. Mao eyed the two warriors in their cages, and smiled. Perhaps they will be helpful, after all.

She turned from the monitors, daintily avoiding the wet slop dripping from the desk, and made to leave the room. At the last moment, something caught her eye: a pass card from one of the Brevics.
“Mine,” she said, grabbing the card and slipping it into her suit. Concentrating for a moment to match the map in her mind’s eye with her senses, she turned to face the south west, and 32 degrees down, calibrated the frequency of her claws and, with a quick slashing motion, was gone.

When Malware had a break

When Malware had a break between searches, he located a terminal and accessed the facility's systems easily enough. He began partial integration. Dialing through the cameras, he noticed two unconscious gaurds lying in their food. So that's the signal.

When he was integrating was complete, Mal deactivated all the defense systems he could without raising alarm. That should ease escape. He readied a diversion for the gaurds when a riot no doubt started, and left the terminal to return to his post. Things are about to get rather loud, rather fast, he thought to himself.

No one saw a thing,

No one saw a thing, apparently. Not unexpected. Still, the unknown aviform and the Vaissan were the most likely prospects.

On to the next step. Lianre had grown up in a small merchant ship, and her parents believed in training against likely hazards, so she was quite experienced at damage control. Patching holes, cutting power to a section so repairs could be made to the power lines, fixing the water and air and waste lines. Drawing on that knowledge, she walked around the holding area and decided that the best place for 600 grams of gravitationally polarized explosive to be set off, to cause maximum loss of power, maximum confusion, and minimum risk of decompression (ideally zero, but one never knew), was right there.

Unfortunately, there was about three meters off the floor, in the corner nearest the door she'd come in through. While this made it unlikely that anyone in the holding area would be directly injured by the blast (the giant apparently still being unconscious), it did present a problem in placement.

(time dilation: This occurs/will occur during the explosion caused by Lianre, when she sets it off. Fire in the hole!)

Lyhhah Mao appeared in the Facility’s control room. Even as she landed, A Gorram in his Head Guard uniform was staring her in the face. Before he could call out an alarm, her knee rose up, forcing the air out. He sagged and the three other guards in the room turned. A quick kick sent the slumped guard to the floor, and Mao spun out of the kick into a round off cartwheel. Before the motion was done, she’d wrapped her arm around behind a second guard’s head and spun him over her shoulder to be a human shield for the series of plasma bolts that followed. A diving slash removed the gun arm from the next guard, and, as the last guard charged her, she tore through space and time again, to end up behind him. A quick sweep brought him to the ground, where a hard elbow to the side of his head sent him into unconsciousness.

The gate controls at the Facility didn’t make much sense to Lyhhah Mao and, after a few minutes of fiddling, the claws came out and tore apart the console.

Instantly, alarms began to sound as the power in the entire facility flickered for a moment. Unperturbed, Lyhhah fished through the head guard’s pockets and found another pass card. This one was black with a metallic strip along one side. She compared it to the first and, liking it better, tossed the old card away.
“Mine,” she said, with a nod, and began calculating the jump to her primary objective: the Istapus named Gar-Lok

Not expecting the explosion

Not expecting the explosion but pleasantly surprised, Fortuna opts to play her own card by suddenly shrieking, appearing absolutely hysterical as she continues to scream in apparent overwhelming fright. She is playing on the notion that Vaissan women are helpless, simply worth nothing but trophies...

If the nearby guard falls for her clever ploy, capitalizing on the mass confusion, and draws him to her cell, she could take him down and liberate herself...

If all goes according to plan, that is...

Okay the explosions and

Okay the explosions and flickering lights was it. Suddenly a cloud of mist rose around him "What's Happening? Damon where are you?" His tentacles seem to deflate well he was only drawing the liquid from them so their diameter decreased and the shackles fell off. He then gripped the door to the examination room locking his four arm tentacles on it with his suction cups and well starts yanking to force the door open. "Things are going down buddy I think this is the best time for us to beat it. I don't want to be here when the blood hits the water!"

Doors farther in might been built to with hold blunt force attacks, but who would figure the door to the exam area needed such reinforcement. Sure enough the door hinges couldn't resist and the bolts rip right out and he flings the door aside. All hidden by that self made cloud cover.

(flashing back)
Lianre reached into her jumpsuit and pulled out the explosive and the detonator, and, while shielding them from cameras with her body, set the latter for a 20 second delay once activated. Leaving the front of her jumpsuit mostly open, she asked a likely looking Darialoid male (a Tek'ari by his features and coloration) "Would you pretty-please give me a boost up? I need to look at the wall up there." He looked puzzled, but he lifted her up. She slapped the putty into place, then clicked the timer on. "Down, please. NOW!"

As Fortuna continues her fit

As Fortuna continues her fit of screaming hysterics, footsteps come down the hall. A figure steps into the door way, nothing but the clear force shield as protection from the likely attack.

“Is something wrong with you?” Lyhhah asks, sounding legitimately confused. With a slash of her claws, the locking mechanism is torn out, and Lyhhah skips down the hall to the birdman’s cell to do the same.

As the blast went off, lights flickered and died. Emergency lighting came up in some areas. Lianre told the Tek'ari, "Unless you have something keeping you here, I'd suggest finding a way off this rock. Thanks for the lift!"

Lianre smiled as guards went in many different directions, and went through the gap into the hall. She couldn't think of a reason for a medbot to be in the hall headed towards her, so she concluded it was Mal, and she sprinted toward him.

Gyr'Val's eyes snapped open

Gyr'Val's eyes snapped open at the sound of the explosion. He'd finally found a position where he could kneel without having to draw his wings in too far and had been meditating and planning strategy. As the lights flickered, he heard the clunk of the magnetic lock on his door disengaging. As the alarms sounded, he knew he could have only seconds before the mag-lock reactivated.

He stood up and shuffled his wings into a better position, then turned sideways, chambered his leg, and unloaded a powerful side kick aimed at the center of the door. Literally as his foot made contact, the door's secondary lock was disengaged by Lyhhah shredding the locking mechanism and his kick threw the door open, its edge just barely missing the slender catling's shoulder.

Without missing a beat, she asked if he wanted to play, then turned and disappeared with a slash of her glowing claws. He quickly found Fortuna bouncing a guard off the wall and grabbed the guard from behind. His right arm snaked around the guard's neck, his left arm locked it into place, and he squeezed. The guard tried to escape the chokehold, but Gyr'Val was simply too strong. He looked over at Fortuna as the guard was losing consciousness. "This is a prison. He won't have a sidearm. Too much chance of a prisoner getting his appendages on it."

Once the guard' was unconscious, Gyr'Val dropped his body on the floor. He snagged the keycard and shock baton from his belt. "The possessions locker is back this way." he said, heading back down the dead-end hallway, his "holographic memory" guiding him.

He looks back over his shoulder at Lianre, "There will be two others arriving at the lockers around the same time as us. “You must be the Garlok,” Lyhhah said with a slight smile as the large invertebrate stepped out of his own obfuscating cloud. “Your Company must want you badly to hire me. Come…” she said, not exactly waiting for Gar to respond or follow.
The area beyond the inspection room was chaos, but it didn’t take Lyhhah long to find the Tek'ari who was brought in with her target. The pilot.
“Hi,” she said reaching a hand to the gray male, “I need you to fly a ship. Onward, jellyfish!”

Damon didn't need to be told twice, even if the sudden action had rattled him thoroughly. Ditching the prison clothes still folded up, and the next thing he could remember was holding his affects in his hands. His buddy was with him still, but among the confusion he couldn't hear anything. He wasn't sue, but he felt dizzy. The explosion earlier somehow knocked him hard, concussed his brain and gave him a fit of tinnitus. As the adrenaline subsided, the reality of his injuries became more apparent. Running became stumbling, stumbling became tripping and ultimately falling. All he had managed to say was "where's the impound?"

Mal has not quite conquered figures of speech. "The one with the wings, I am not familiar with his species, did that completely unarmed. The Vassian had a blade. However, she seems equally talented without it. I had not planned to annoy them, only contain them or divert their path. They would not have known with whom to be annoyed. Also, our ride off of the asteroid may be leaving soon. Here," Mal stated as they arrived, the lockers all unlocking simultaneously.

In his haze, Damon stumbled around the lockers and proceeded to pocket all sorts of things that could certainly not be his. It was hardly difficult to get anything from him as well. He would freely give up a item he was holding if someone put a hand near him. Sometimes, he would accidentally hand items to others thinking they were asking for them. It truly appeared as a zombie gone dumpster diving. Damon was searching for his things, but hadn't realized it had all been retrieved.

As Gyr'Val approached the possessions room, he heard people inside. He held out a hand to stop Fortuna and flattened himself against the wall, then slowly peeked around the corner into the room, the shock baton poised to stab at someone's torso. He saw several prisoners, judging by their jumpsuits, and a medbot who appeared to be helping them. Not seeing anyone overtly hostile, he slid the shock baton into the "belt" formed by his jumpsuit sleeves.

As he watched, the Tek'ari reached into a locker and pulled out his Quantum Disruptor pistol. He began searching for a pocket large enough to fit it into and Gyr'Val would be damned to the Wingless Pits if he was going to let that happen.

He strode into the locker room and reached around the Tek'Ari to grab his throat, then spun him and lifted him a foot off the ground like he was nothing. Gyr'Val was not choking the Tek'Ari, but the threat was readily implied. He locked eyes with the Tek'Ari, then looked down at the disruptor pistol, then back up to his eyes. "THAT is mine."

Simply sighing at Gyr'val, Fortuna calmly states as she heads to her own thankfully unscavenged locker...

"Save the frisking for later boys, grab what is MOSTLY your's so we can escape this dirt pile." That said, she disappears around the corner to retrieve her wares, having no shame as she slips out of her prison jumpsuit fully to change , revealing her beautiful and exotic body for the span of two minutes...

When done, she sultrily walks around the corner within a full black bodysuit, a space of cleavage lined with a trim of midnight fur, her belt slotted with a plethora of throwing knives, a black market datapad, and covert spyware tools, specifically, disguise gear. Upon her thighs would be a pair of carefully strapped custom modified plasma pistols, her back bearing a amber glowing plasma sniper rifle, weapon of choice, the outfit tied together by her gleaming golden medallion, her ensemble complete...

Hands on her hips, she teases...

Viz'x was in the entrance

Viz'x was in the entrance gatehouse having just arrived via special transport from one of the local systems. hearing its engines roar to life as it pulled away she sighed. A hard take down, six injuries and two biting later the eight guards around her were...paranoid...to say the least. the Miz'trex was bound with one pair of her arms behind her back, the other cross chested like a strait jacket, her feet where chained together at the ankles and that had a lead up to a waist and collar restraints that had two control sticks leading out of each. beyond that her mouth had a spit guard covering. the four men on each of the restraints on hearing the alarm at once shocked her...which was really really annoying, this time she hadn't done anything, the guards with pulse wave plasma projectors (plasma cone guns, for when shotgun isn't scary enough) looked between themselves as the second door failed to open and the alarms continued. they readied there weapons while the other four maneuvered via control stick the prisoner to the side of the series of airlocks that lead out to the docking collars and down to her knees. The eight of them exchanging a look before there leader proclaimed "well if any of them plan to get out, they are going to have to go through here so button up and secure that evidence". behind the box of guards was a small hover-dolly and a droid controller for it, resting on top of it was three large metal boxes labeled "evidence" which at hearing that order floated over to part as far out of the way as it could inside the little kill box. with that being done they moved two to each side of the door and tensely waited as the now kneeling Viz'x mumbled amateurs softly through her mask.

"Perhaps a shield, these doors are they blast proof? I could hold one and we can use it as cover." He looked to the door he ripped off earlier wondering if it was blast proof.

The delirious Damon, still

The delirious Damon, still hanging by the Fal'kai's grip on his throat, turned to Gar'Lox, "Gar, repel bomb blowback clear path."

It was increasingly apparent he was struggling to speak properly and didn't realize it himself. The black blood now dripping out of his hair and down his face announced the greater wound now getting serious.

"Uh oh. Skip the recon, Mal.

"Uh oh. Skip the recon, Mal. You have a patient." From nearby boxes, Lianre grabbed a pocket comb, two datapad styli, and a spoon. She stuck them into the ball of putty, forming a caltrop. Then she stuck in the detonator. Then she handed it to Mao. "Gravitationally polarized. Set the timer, drop it in the middle of them, be above it or out of the area when it goes off."

"Damon... Your bleeding. Hey you put him down can't you see he's struggling." He reached over and wraps his hand around the Fal'kai arm. "Come on set him down." Then blinking he focused on Damon again "What bomb?"

Mao handles the explosive

Mao handles the explosive with care.
"Interesting. I'm up for a challenge."
Closing her eyes for a moment, she turns 58 degrees to her left, fiddles with the controls on her gauntlets and, with a slash through the air, disappears.

Lianre then fishes out her

Lianre then fishes out her skinsuit, a skin-tight vacuum suit with good protection from both projectile and energy weapons. As Fortuna did moments before, she changes without any hint of embarrassment, but long hours of practice enable her to be done in less than thirty seconds. Then the shoulder holster rig is replaced and the contents of the box, as well as the package ripped from inside the prison jumpsuit, are replaced on her belt, which is then buckled into place. Finally, she checks the charge on the power packs of the heavy polaron pistols. "I guess the hunter is point. Wings next, with the door, it's better protection than nothing. I'll be next, Mal and his patient in the middle. Gar covering our rear, and Miss Face taking any good sniping spots." She pulls out a rolling chair from behind the desk and places it under Damon. "Let's go. I have no desire to be here when the lawyer shows up."

Fortuna nods, unholstering her plasma rifle and preparing it, before inquiring...

"Now, the Face? Isn't that an interesting title? May I ask why?" She smiles, testing Lianre.

While the pitch of Lianre's voice didn't change, the cadence, intonation, and accent were nearly a perfect match:"

"Heh. Eidetic memory. Great for learning languages and remembering which way is out." Lianre pointed towards the door. "Now, if you don't know why you could be called the Face, I'd suggest looking in a mirror. Or possibly your police record, if those news articles were at all accurate."

Just as Lyhhah Mao entered

Just as Lyhhah Mao entered into the chokepoint, chaos reigned. The prisoner dove into her nearest guard, knocking him to the ground and the other guards holding her restraints were dragged along like little leeches. Mao slammed the device against the ground and adjusted the timer for 30 seconds, just as the three free guards turned their attention from the pile in the corner onto the newcomer.
29..28..27…
Mao dove at the nearest guard, letting her helmet smash into his chin. The female guard beside him was quick enough to wrap Mao in a crushing bear-hug as he fell unconscious to the ground.
23..22..21..
Mao’s claws bit through the female guard’s arms easily. Leaving them to drop (still wriggling) to the floor, she kicked off the other woman and pounced on the piled bodies in the corner.
17…16..15..
She scratched and clawed her way through the guards, aiming mostly for the restraints, kicking guards away as she scrambled.
9…8…7…
“Do be a dear,” she said to the four-armed female, clutching the woman by her shoulders, “and jump as high as you can.”

(we can assume that the bomb isn't dropping until Kreet decides to jump us out of harm's way, i'm sure ;P)

{Sorry, I've been away most

{Sorry, I've been away most of the day and am getting ready to be away all evening. Gyr'Val would have put Damon down as soon as he handed over the pistol, but that's a moot point now.)

Gyr'Val set Damon down promptly and checked the charge on the pistols Nanocell. 200 shots remaining. It would have to do. He searched through the lockers and found his Thunder-Maul and armor. Taking a bit longer than Fortuna, he donned his Mobile Combat Armor and then slotted the Thunder-Maul into it's belt loop and holstered the pistol. Lastly, he put on his helmet, which was decorated with a bird-of-prey motif.

He turned back to Damon, his voice emerging slightly modulated. "I apologize for handling you the way I did. Soldier's instinct."

He listened to the planning and nodded. Then he turned to the Vaissan, utterly confused at her skillset. "So let me get this straight. You're a face AND a sniper...?" he asked, simply leaving the question hanging.

Fortuna chuckles to Lianre,

Fortuna chuckles to Lianre, clearly impressed however as she speaks...

"And your record, equally as striking. I must say meeting you in person is far more rewarding." Turning to Gyr'val, she would begin to speak before suddenly spinning around, pivoting as she fires off a single plasma bolt into the head of a guard who attempted to sneak up behind them, pivoting again to fire at a guard watchman who attempted to fire after her action...

All of which, happening in the span of four seconds, both distances easily a span of 30 feet, she slowly turns back to the winged soldier as she finally replies...

"Do you have a problem with my skillset, Gyr'val?"

Mal acts slightly hurt "Of course I can treat it. Come here." He takes Damon by the arm abs leads him to a bench of sorts. He examines the wound and ties a few stitches using the utensils built into his hands. "Should heal. The disorientation you feel is from the bomb, yes?" Mal states more than asks, "That should diminish over time. The ringing should dissipate as well. This will sting," with little warning, a chest cavity opens and Mal reaches inside and comes out with a needle and injects it into Damon's neck. "It will help with the pain and disorientation."

"I don't have a problem at

"I don't have a problem at all. But in my 23 years of military experience, all the snipers I met were sociopathic loners with dead eyes. You are quite the opposite, with the possible exception of the sociopathy. I cite the Mo'agri as my reason for not having made up my mind about that particular subject. Lean left, please." he said matter-of-factly, calmly drawing his disruptor and firing three rounds over her shoulder as she leaned left. The three blasts took apart an enforcement robot that the guards had sent in by blasting its arm off at the elbow, chewing a huge hole in its chest, and finally destroying half of its head. The machine stuttered and stumbled, then crashed to the ground in a sparking heap.

"Snipers outside of the military are usually mercenaries, assassins, or psychopathic criminals. Which one would you classify yourself as? Also, just out of curiosity, what's the longest shot you've ever made?" he asked, continuing to speak calmly while keeping the guards suppressed with a steady stream of fire.

Before she could rebut, he checked back in the room. "We should be moving. Is the medbot done?" he asked, looking over at Lianre, who appeared to have been conversing with it earlier.

Fortuna chuckles as she replies while flanking Lianre....

"Generalization doesn't help your case, first of all, and I suppose you can coin me with socipathy, then again, we would ALL be considered sociopaths by this place, the people in this facility simply because we are criminals. I'll let you use your imagination to determine what I am, and as for my longest shot?" She grins...

"I'm registering multiple fast moving signatures coming our way. Possibly military-grade droids." Mal moves quickly, striking key points on gaurds to make them crumple, unconscious, or slicing with deadly accuracy with the scalpels and other bladed utensils in his fingers, leaving foes dead or mortally wounded. "They will provide a problem."

As they moved out of the room

As they moved out of the room and headed down the hall, Gyr'Val watched his new allies slaughter several guards and spoke up. "HEY! I don't care how you feel about being imprisoned, but you will avoid killing anymore guards unless absolutely necessary. Murdering every guard between us and the hangar is only going to increase the heat put on us once we get out of here. In our best interest, try to show some restraint!"

With that said, he shot a guards leg out from underneath him, but he'd only used half power, leaving the guard with a wound that would keep him immobile and unable to pursue the group.

The group reached a corner and began exchanging fire with a group of guards behind a barricade set up at the mouth of the hangar. With his sharp eyes, Gyr'Val could tell that a tussle was going on beyond the chokepoint and he realized that that was where Lyhhah must have teleported to plant the explosive. "Be ready to duck and cover! No telling when that explosive is going to go off!" he warned the group.

"Hey I didn't kill that one... wait didn't I? You vertebrates so easily broken a snap to the spine and you go all rag doll. Thought I was sure I just knocked that one out." He heard the call to duck and cover and planted his feet firmly then suction cupped himself to the floor bracing himself for impact.

Y The explosive went off just

The explosive went off just after the arboreal arachnoid jumped. The blast was partially deflected by the deck, but the four nearest guards had their legs swept out from under them. The stylus on top only filled into the air a few meters . The other, and a spoon and a comb tumbled away at dangerous velocities.
Meanwhile, targeting and threat assessment software booted up in Lianre's skinsuit.

Ducking for cover as the bomb

Ducking for cover as the bomb detonates, Fortuna shouts....

"Alright, let's move, sightseeing is over, ladies!" She turns to fire into the legs of approaching guards, her shots immobilizing but nonlethal, mindful of pursuit.
