Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.
It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

She walked out last, having taken the time to repack her gear and armor wearing only a black half shirt an tactical pants with the four pistols in holsters two behind her back and two at her thighs the three crates back in her arms "accessing gear of guns for hire, I know a bit about that...I know that if you tried accessing my equipment without my permission or presence the best that would happen is the data would be destroyed, the worst would be some form of explosive trap, Just urging caution." Viz'x looked around with that and then at the bird man "this is your place, where do I set my stuff? I need a secure line out if your A.I. can manage it. I need to check my bank statements as well to see if I can get a hold of currency to replay you for the use of your place, secure personnel, material, and means of transport so I don't have to squat . I am going to chalk the escape up to chaos and call us all even on that."

"Satellite access to the Equinet can be managed through any of these consoles or there are more private computers over there." he pointed at the rec room this time. "However, the satellites won't be realigned for another ten minutes."
"Now, the most important thing we're going to have to consider is her teleporter. However, I've seen it in action twice now. From what I can tell, she has to turn in the direction she wants to go, adjust the gauntlets, then slash. She won't have time to do that if she has a gun... or nine, pointed at her head." he said with a smirk as he counted all the handguns wielded by the group.

"Hmm interesting I heard of personal teleporters rarely seen one. Needs a computer system fast enough to calculate atoms and power supply strong enough to function. Well anyway might be easier to scramble any signal her device sends. With out a proper lock on where she wants to go teleporting would be very hazardous,,, materializing in the floor for example."

Mal states, "No, I cannot access it. Her suit is not accessible without hardwiring directly into it. There are no ports and no form of operating system. Most likely to keep from being controlled by an outside force."
Viz picks up her bags and glances at the woman that said immoral "you know we just broke out of prison right?" and then keeps walking towards the armory leaving the inactive anti-personnel mine behind in case they want to use it.

The inquisitive nature of the Tek'ari got the better of Damon. Without maps and starcharts to distract him, he started looking over the suit for hidden compartments or anything he could fiddle with to help the others find some lead.

Knowing that Tek'ari's sometimes couldn't help but poke things, especially when of a technological nature, Gyr'Val followed along right behind Damon and pulled him away from Lyhhah. "No touching."
"The mine might be a better idea because, I don't care how agile you are, it's difficult to dodge an AP mine that's been mag-clamped to your armor. But I think that should also be a last resort. Like Fortuna, I'm hopeful that she can be talked to, however I have to balance that with my own somewhat pragmatic nature and past experience with mercenaries." he said, shrugging his shoulders, his wings mimicking the up and down motion.

Lianre started laying out parts and tools from her kit. Two types of scanners, a roll of utility tape, a spool of fine enameled wire, assorted other components. She tore off a long strip of the tape and cut a slightly longer piece of the fine wire and started laying it out on the sticky side of the tape.

After another hour of debate amongst the group, it was decided that they would attempt to talk to Lyhhah and explain the situation to her, hoping that she had some kind of code or a sense of honor and that she wasn't just in her line of work for the money. Even some gratitude for Viz'x and Gyr'Val saving her life would be something they could work with. If not, the mine attached to her chest would be their last resort.
Gyr'Val asked Lianre and Fortuna to be the ones to talk to Lyhhah with him and that the rest of the group wait away from the mouth of the medbay, but with Viz'x nearby since she was the last one Lyhhah had presumably encountered before getting knocked out. The three of them stood just outside the entrance of the medbay and waited for signs of consciousness from the bounty huntress.

1.9 hours later:
With a soft whimper, Lyhhah Mao opened her eyes.
She was laying on a cold examination table. [i] Prison? …no. They would know to remove my gauntlets.[/i]
The space was decidedly medical in nature, and Mao could sense the basic nature of the facility. Some sort of bolt-hole, room for a small crew but definitely not a ship. The muscles along her body twitched, subtly testing strength and functionality. They would serve. Mao felt the still searing pain of the wounds across her ribs and registered the metal tang and ozone taste of the patch job. Professionally done, but without care. Another species might have fought through the pain, stayed conscious, stayed fighting, but the true Nyhhsarians felt too deeply for such crude feats. The bandage around her mid-section was bulky, heavy, and unnecessary. The patch job had been sufficient and the bandage was doing nothing for the pain. Just as she was about to tear it away, she paused. There was something in the wrapping, she could sense the subtle shift of electro-magnetism in it, close as it was to her skin. Now that she knew it was there, it thumped in nerves of her teeth. It was worse than water….
She registered the others outside; could hear them, too, but not what they said. The hulking blue female kept herself busy between them and the shuttle. The Vaissan woman murmured, and the Bird-winged man spoke with… perhaps that small pilot. The woman with the explosives was there, too, but this would all be for nothing if her quarry was left behind. It would be drinking from a Sedonee’s teet to try and recover the body if it was left behind.

“yhhhhhtch,” she cursed. That Squid! He was resourceful, made allies quickly. Mao thought back to the profile provided to her. Nothing in it about his personality. A dangerous oversight, on her part. The little bomb-maker had her stench all over the wrappings, now that Mao thought to check and it was likely wired to prevent tampering. Annoying, but perhaps….
In one sinuous motion, Lyhhah Mao got to her feet.
Instantly, a cheerful holographic projection appeared in front of her.
“Hello [Female Nyhhsarian], I’m Sparky, the facility’s VI interface. It’s very good to see you on your feet again. The others are very worried about you.”
Mao didn’t think that bunch of pirates would be that sentimental... the bomb on her side seemed to support that. “-will be happy to assist you in any way,” the VI continued.
The bird man, Vassian, and bomb-maker stepped inside the room, cornering Lyhhah. She crouched low, ready. She’d dodged fire before, but it would be luck more than skill after the first bolt flew, and she didn’t like her chances in such close quarters.

Seeing her reaction, Gyr'Val summoned up his most In his most commanding squad-leader voice. "Stand down, soldier. You're in a shit situation and you know it. I can see it in your eyes. Let us speak and we can all emerge from this relatively unscathed."

Viz upholstered all four of her pistols, her eyes, all four sets seeming to track a different set of sights, all four sights seeming to lead the target just a hair to each direction, it would be clear that dodging a fusillade of fire from her would be quite difficult. . she let the soft buzz of the plasma charge do most of her speaking but then remembered many races needed verbal warnings to ward off stupid. "I recommend that when he walks over there, you play nice, I don't really know him, or you for that matter, and attempting to use him as a sentient shield or shot sponge will not buy you enough time to move away. and I will not hesitate to fire through him to kill you."

Fortuna speaks to a panicked Mao in her most soothing tone possible, strange given her history of malice and cruel acts...what's driving this?
"Listen, he's right, ths situation couldn't pan out any worse for you and personally...I don't want to have to end your life or SEE it ended...may we please talk this over, I know how frightening this has to be, been in situations like this myself...we don't have to fight?"

Gyr'Val continued to watch Mao, trying to judge how she'd react at any given moment. But he was equally aware of every reaction going on behind him. He had to hand it to Viz'x. She seemed to have no patience for bullshit or trickery and that's something he appreciated in those he worked with, even if it got him shot in this particular instance. Lianre seemed to have a very cool head on her shoulders, even in a tense situation like this. He was still having a bit of trouble figuring out Fortuna. She could be vicious one second and perfectly calm and soothing the second. There could be trouble there, but he wasn't entirely sure.
"Each one of them is right. There is no road you can go down, other than listening to us, where things will end well for you. So, do us all a favor and stand down." he said, looking her directly in the eyes.

There is a subtle chuffing noise from deep behind Mao's collarbone.
"So now it's listening is it? I can listen just fine from here. Yhtch, I can listen just fine from the other side of this complex, if the angles are right." She breaths slowly through her nose.
"....six of you, and one of me with a bomb strapped to my chest, and yet you are still so afraid. I mean you no harm, Even aided in all of your escapes and yet you cage me like an animal and say to me retract my claws?" Mao snorts.
"I think not." she brushes a palm against her chest, over the explosive device.
"Large, standard weight and measure. If this is indeed an anti-troop device, it'll shred me along with everyone in this room. Of course, if it's something bigger, it could do worse." One claw rests at the edge of the device, perhaps even nicking into the bandage holding it in place.
"If I snip just about here, or if your friend who strapped it to me feels the itch, It wont just be my blood splattered on these walls. If you truly wish to talk... or value your life... prove it."

Mal had followed the small group, and did not have time to warn the group that she was getting to her feet. It was of little importance. Everyone seemed quite insistent on firing upon Mao. But the shows of sincerity, even if an act, were promising. Mal tilted his head to one side, thinking for a moment.
"In your weakened state, it is highly unlikely you have the ability to survive a fight with multiple highly trained mercenaries, and two AIs. It is advised you do not resist." Mal was aware he was stating the obvious, but all of these meatheads would not understand any other forms of coersion. He could, after all, kill her in mere moments. He had analyzed the combat uses of her suit and seen her skillset. But no, organics were far too slow to comprehend that.
He decided to let the situation play itself out. He was not very interested anyway. One opponent was not a challenge. Mal had been designed to conquer. Now he strived for it.
Fortuna now adopts a less soothing, logical tone...
"He is right, and what would you have done in our position? We are criminals, it's not fear...simply tactical reasoning."

Malware sighs, a strange sound coming from a synthetic being. This was a medical room. He was an AI. His reaction time was undoubtedly quicker than hers. But it was a bomb, after all.
Mal states quietly to the small group near the door, too quietly for Mao to hear, "There is a surgical station behind and above Miss Lyhhah. If it is required, she can be restrained without incident, but her trust will be broken and she will be much more likely to attempt to escape again. It is advised she obtain her 'space.' The best way to contain a prisoner is to keep them from knowing they are one at all."
"Pretty self evident, at the moment, Canner. And rest assured, I'll hear that thing move, if you try to send it towards me."

Making a show of her reluctance, Fortuna sighs before uholstering first a hidden handgun on her leg, another in her left boot, ambient small, and finally her rifle, placing them carefully upon the floor as she speaks...
"Alright, we are backing off." Her tone leaves no room for argument, as she speaks with a commanding nature not fitting most Vaissans, moreso seeing as the women of her species are generally submissive.

Gyr'Val's hands had remained empty this entire time, so he raised them and showed her that they were empty. He then motioned for the rest of the group to back off and give Lyhhah her requested space. "Holster 'em, Viz'x, if you please."
He backed away several feet, hopefully not bumping his wings into anyone. "Fortuna's right. We're all criminals now. You're an admitted bounty hunter. Those two groups don't usually fly in the same formation. I think you can understand our caution."

Mao settles slighty, standing more erect.

VIz'x stepped forward slightly "call me a coward...one more time...call me fool..one more time...and I will kill you with my bare hands you ignorant fur ball its a DIRECTIONAL anti-personnel mine with the shaped warhead pointed towards your rib cage, the blast pattern will be soaked by the flesh of your body, and possibly a meter or so in every direction there will be a shock wave capable of harming softer skinned life forms...if you want, blow it up, my body could survive the business end of it let alone the spray of your guts. the only reason I am allowing your offensive nature slide past is my personal honor, you did break me out of prison, and I in turn have not killed you while you sleep. know that now we are even, and future offense will result in violence...and as to being anymore dangerous...I don't think a creature who's first reaction towards firearms was to shy towards a toolbox is the biggest threat in the room. you have twenty more seconds to retract your weapons, sit at the table and talk to the nice avian and his friends, this is your last warning, you are getting a warning because you have given us aid, and because I -believe- you when you say you don't intend to screw us, but I do not tolerate loose ends and to that end...sit"

"Hmmm, curious as to why you outright denied a connection to slavery...speaking from experience?" Taunts, secretly eager to see if she was to take the bait...

Mao sighs.
"Now, if all your threats and bluster are over, can we get to the part where you all acknowledge that I am not so phenomenal a threat that it takes six hardened criminals and the eminent threat of being turned into paste to survive an encounter with me. I get it, you are all deadly or some such and will kill me and blah blah blah. I, who have never meant any of you ill will, and you who have universally threatened me. Of these two groups, who is the threat that should stand down, and who is the one justified in her defense of herself?"

As Mao yet again insulted Viz'x, Gyr'Val knew he would have to intervene. Before Viz'x could pull the trigger on any of her pistols, Gyr'Val moved like lightning. He shot forward and grabbed Mao, ramming her into the wall at the back of the bay. His hands gripped her elbows and pinned them to the wall while the armored edges of his wings came forward and pinned her neck to the wall. "By the Flightless Pits, are you completely stupid or just plain suicidal? You obviously believe that we won't kill you simply for being an annoyance. You obviously believe that we are bluffing. You. Are. Wrong."
"Yes, to a person, I'm sure everyone here is grateful for your help in escaping. But now we are trying to get some simple information from you and you seem to lack the ability to cooperate in even the slightest fashion. Ten years ago, I would have made you shorter by a head for such idiocy. But, I like to think I've grown wiser and more patient as I've gotten older. Then I encounter obvious idiots like you. So, here's how it's going to be. Cooperate, or I let the mighty warrior rip your limbs off and pin them to the wall as her trophy. Have I made myself perfectly clear?" he asked, his voice a rumble, full of menace and anger. He let up on his wing-hold just a tad so that she could nod or shake her head.

Viz'x by this point had calmly turned and walked back out into the other room, setting all her pistols down and removing her harness she also clicked the detonator on the mine to "inactive". she opened one box and pulled out her chest plate strapping it on, and taking out four handle like devices each snapping out a curved blades with a long punching tip, looking like a cross between a pair of brass knuckles, a re-curved dagger and a punching dagger. the blades glowed to life in an angry red as she re-entered the room. "no more bomb, no more guns, just me and you. please, Gyr'Val was it? let her go, let her fight."

Mal sighs again, this time out of exasperation. He speaks to Lianre, "Call me if anyone expires or if you require my services, be it medical or tactical."
He then strolls out of the room, heading towards the armory, hoping to possibly find another shell that could be of use.
Lianre sighs. "I'm still hoping for you to tell me why you're being paid to take someone somewhere he doesn't want to go."

Damon had grown thoroughly bored of the standoff with either side, and with all distractions on the bounty hunter, he had slipped over to the scattered parts near the docked ship he didn't fly here. He looked over a number of the spare parts and damaged components, careful not to press buttons on anything that might be live. Unintentionally, he had started sorting the unrepairable pieces from the ones that could be repurposed or used as-is. He had stopped paying attention entirely to what was happening just a few yards away. One piece truly displeased him. He had hoped it was salvageable, but ultimately he suspected it had no use but scrap and tossed it over his shoulder and it bounced in the direction of the medical bay.

Mao chokes back a quick laugh at Gyr'Val's comments.
"You seem to misunderstand the situation you have put me in. I AM dead. You cannot seem to trust me even so much as to talk and have me trapped in a deathly cage of your making. I am not under the presumption that I will live despite my cavalier attitude. I am certain of my destruction and will NOT cower, simply because you demand it of me. If that means death comes sooner, so be it."

Fortuna barely contains a sneer at Gyr'val's actions as she hisses, turning to stand beside Viz'x...

Lianre whispered into her com to reply to Mal. "No, I think I may have this." She closed the com but continued whispering. "Can't tell 'not grovelling' unless you go all the way to abusive? And what do you know of cages when you can't recognize a key when it's held out for you to take? What was the first question I asked you when you woke up here?'

Gyr'Val snarled inarticulately and dropped the woman to the ground, turning his back and striding out of the medbay. At first, it seemed like he was going to walk away to punch something, but then he whipped around and glared at her. His voice emerged much colder than when he'd grabbed her.
"Can't you understand? I'm trying to save your life, here. You think you're already dead, so you refuse to cower and whine. I can appreciate that. But I don't want you to cower and whine. All I want is a simple exchange of information. But you have done nothing but bluster and insult since waking up. I see now that you're trying to push one of us into killing you. You've done a pretty good job of it so far, especially in Viz'x's case. So do us at least one favor and answer Lianre's questions. Than you can go off and commit suicide by murder as much as you like, for all I care." he turned again and approached Viz'x.
"I can't pretend to understand the honor system of your people or even your own personal honor code. But amongst my people, it is considered dishonorable to allow oneself to be goaded into killing another. it shows a lack of control over one's own rage. Is it the same for your people?" he asked, looking up into the eyes of the big blue alien.

Mao's voice grows strained.
"I, who have acted in good faith to all your benefits, am threatened and coerced at the [i]promise[/i] of fair treatment? HAH! I have seen your peace, it is strapped to my chest, it is pointed in my face. Kill me now, or quit your pointless threats. I Will not stand down from the protecting of myself until you ACT on these promises you claim to have. I have done none of you wrong. and you demand everything from me."

Inside the bandage, something shifted. Mao closed her eyes for the briefest moment, ready for the end. in another breath, the electromagnetic hum of electrons passing through circuits died away.
Lyhhah Mao opened her eyes in surprise...
In a flash, the device was torn away, and Mao's hands were raised -claws retracted- in a gesture of placation... before slumping, slightly... the stress of the situation and the residual sedatives taking their toll.

Fortuna instantly moves to catch a fainting Mao, not hesitating to hold her up as she leads her back to the bed, turning to Mal as she shouts...
"I want her treated like one of us, not a prisoner, tend to her as you would her." Points to Lynnah, before stalking off into the Training Room, leaving no room for her to be talked to, not before reholstering her weapons. If followed she could be found firing at the targets provided in whatever form at inhuman but not superhuman distances, her face unreadable behind her rifle's scope, ever an enigma...

Mao waves her hand* to shoo off the med bot.
"Hold. I'm fine.The true people feel deeply, is all," she sighs, "So, now that we're all [i]friendly[/i]." Mao reaches up slowly, and removes her helmet. The golden eyes set in her pale, angular face are ringed with black make up. Her auburn hair is clipped close on the sides and left long and wild on top. She smiles, weakly. he ears come to a subtle black point at their tips "It is customary to begin with introductions."
Placing one hand so thumb and forefinger span the base of her throat, she nods to the four-armed woman, the sapper, and the winged man (and anyone else still paying attention).
"I am Lyhhah Mao of Alryeuur Prime."

Mal stopped at the call for him, and returned, but as Lyhhah refused aid he neared her anyway. "I am Malware, of everywhere. Are you certain you do not require medical attention? Another dose of painkiller can be applied if necessary."
"No I assure you. My head is fuzzy enough as it is," Mao said to the machine before turning to Kr'Kow, "I was hired to return him to his people, dead or alive. Being the caring sort, and because they offered a bonus, I felt alive was more agreeable to all parties." She smiled, ruefully, "I assure you, I am no bounty hunter, nor slave trader. My last contract was to rescue Thelusia's child-empress from her uncle's royal guard before they had a chance to expedite his path to the throne. By all accounts this contract was of a similar nature, however different the goal may have been."

Viz'x seemed to be patiently waiting the knives still in her hands she glanced a single eye at the bird man "I gave her fair warning, it is not goading, it is simple as the day is long, those that cannot keep there mouths shut, die...when she has said her peace, and you are all satisfied to who and what she is, I am going to cut out her heart." Gar'lox was nervous and one way he work through his nerves was messing with equipment. So it was what he did now he was in the craft they liberated from the impound lot. He was working on one of the engines fine tuning it to change the crafts impulse signature. He was quite literally under the engine squeezed himself into a small clearance space one of his hand tentacle reached out and tapped the ground near his tool box "Where are those pliers?"

The waves washed up on the beach as the young Istapus watched as the freighter ship came down to land at the space port. Gar-lox was just a child then just crawling out of the nursery pools and exploring the tending babysitter came over. "Careful Gar don't want to get to close to the space port." "How do they swim in the sky?" She chuckled and picked him up "I don't know it's technology. They travel the sea of stars going from one world to another." "Why can't we travel the stars?" She took the time to think about this "The machines needed to travel the starts take a lot of technology. Our world mostly water but the star traveler worlds have more land so they could create the knowledge and tech needed. We are learning from them, but there so little land to use and the tech takes so much to produce. Besides we need to take care of the Home waters in space we can't do that."
"But they want stuff from the ocean floor to make ships why can't we make our own?" She shifted color now the little ones questions were starting to bother her "Perhaps one day our kind will travel the sea of stars but for now the Elders don't wish it. There are no schools out there who ever goes will be alone. There no proper fish to eat so they would suffer not eating properly." "We can eat the travelers food can't we?" "I don't know Gar now lets return to the pool it's lesson time."
Gar-lox looked at the space craft "I'm going to learn all I can about the Travelers tech! One day I travel the sea of stars."
Gar-lox shook his head bringing his mind back to the task at hand. How to disguise a ship. "Sparky? Do you have any spare holo emitters about? I kind of got an idea of setting them up on the haul. It wouldn't hold up under a close range scan but long range and visual we might be able to fake a holographic haul."

"I know the situation hasn't been ideal for trust-building, but as I said earlier, getting mercenaries to cooperate can be a hassle, as I have experienced a multitude of times. I'm going to lay things out straight here. Viz'x intends to kill you." he said, jerking his thumb over his shoulder at the big, blue alien.
"You've defied her and gravely insulted her honor. None of us really know her, so none of us can ask her to play nice. The only person who can save your life at this point is you. You have to apologize to her and you have got to mean it. From the bottom of your flight feathers... err, pulmonary chamber. The ring's in your territory at this point." he told her gravely, then stepped back and out of the way.

Using his communicator he buzzed Damon "Hey tell me what was wrong with the maneuvering I'm going to try to give this tub boat a few mods of my own. How sluggish was the controls to maneuvers? Do you think it was mechanical or system related?" Gar-Lox was in his element figuring out a problem and fixing it.

One of Gar's eyes move to look at Damon "Hmm I think that is an Ion disperser... that's real illegal tech. Damon we got ourselves involved with some big time guys. If it wasn't for that Bounty Hunter all we would be facing was minor ship theft, joy riding and .. well you did hit that monitoring satellite. Heck I might have even talked it down pointing out that i was repairing it and took it out to test drive the repairs, lies of course but possible. Now we got Jail brake and assault on those guards. What do you think Damon?"
He then heard sparky and the others walk back into the hanger hopping Damon has enough wits not to say what he thought now. "OH Sparky there you are. What I was thinking was attaching those to the hull of this thing with some adjustments it should allow us to disguise this thing. Of course short range sensors would cut through it, but long range and visual inspections should be fooled. What do you say is it possible?"

Damon caught on quick and kept his mouth shut, offering Gar only a vague yet familiar expression that indicated he agreed with him. He kept quiet, and proceeded to even hide while making it appear he was trying to help Gar make adjustments.

Sparky did a walk-around, studying the hull of the ship for a few minutes. "I do not believe we have enough holo-projectors to completely change the appearance of the ship. By my calculations, that would require seven projectors and there are only four available. However, those four should be sufficient to alter the shape of the hull by changing certain lines."

Gyr'Val nodded at Lianre's acceptance. "At the moment, our mission is to take steps in ensuring our continued freedom from law enforcement. I was arrested for attempting to enter a forbidden star system. I think it would be best to find out why everyone else was in prison, so that we can judge what kind of heat we'll have on us."

"That's fine. Given if we do to much anyway the behavior of the ship wouldn't sink with the design projected. A image of a freighter wouldn't work if it maneuvers and moves like a cruiser after all. Four strategically placed emitters should be enough would be best if we figure out what make and model of ship ahead of time. Come to think of it if I know what the ion pattern of the design is I might be able to change the ion trail to match." He left the service panel open and climbed down to the hanger floor. "Okay lets figure out what we can make this thing look like, should be as near mass as this model to throw off sensors. Don't think a close range scan would miss the emitters but if we can pull this off there be little reason to come closer for a better look."

Mal strides over to the table, but remains quiet. He was not incarcerated, and their question was aimed towards prisoners. He -was- wanted, but the identification od an AI was more difficult than that of an organic. The majority of his jobs he had done successfully - that is, without being noticed - so he kept the detail to himself.
Fortuna, upon hearing the question, smirks as she recounts curtly...
"Detained while recovering a priceless artifact from a private museum." Saying this, Fortuna stares down at the golden coin fastened around her neck, and it was clear what object she illegally liberated, but it's also clear it's much more significant to her then a simple coin...
Afterwards, she adds cooly in a reaffirmed tone...
"And I am wanted for many other crimes as well, but nothing I cannot mitigate."
