"To kick off this year’s Game Developers Conference, Epic Games announced the creation of Epic MegaGrants, a new $100 million commitment to support game developers, enterprise professionals, media and entertainment creators, students, educators, and tool developers worldwide who are doing incredible things with Unreal Engine or improving open-source capabilities for the 3D graphics community."
My gut reaction is that it's too late.

One of our Devs mentioned like a year or two ago that MWM already has some kind of semi-unique, one-of-a-kind deal with their use of the UE4 system. I have no idea how that might compare to this Epic MegaGrants thing but the Dev made it sound like it was a very special deal that is helping MWM quite a lot. It almost makes me think that even if MWM can't take advantage of this new MegaGrants program that we're probably still in a good situation as far as UE4 goes.

If memory serves, Lothic, the relationship with Epic is more of a symbiotic one with the UE4 Dev Team owing to how early MWM switched over into UE4 development (can you say "ground floor"?) and how the collaboration in both directions improved the UE4 engine for EVERYONE who will wind up using UE4. That's my understanding of the advantage "direction" going on there.

Yeah I knew it had something to do with MWM being a semi-unique "first adopter" of UE4 and that it played a part in MWM getting an extra special one-of-a-kind "deferred license payment scheme" that was supposedly even better than their "normal" deferred payment deals. Again I'm guessing this "unique relationship" is still in force and will be pretty good for us regardless.

Individual team members can apply for our own projects. Anyone can.
