Been thinking a lot about alternate reality timelines and such with my RP and main villain group. What should we call 'our' reality of Titan City?
Should it be "Earth Prime": the anchor for many realities?
Should it be "Earth Epsilon-639": one of many dimensions?
My favorite is the one [url=http://www.scp-wiki.net/] the SCP Foundation[/url] uses: "Baseline Earth". I like it because it gives earth no special treatment. It's merely what we're used to, and any other reality is referenced based on this one.
What do you guys think we should go with? Do we have to agree at all? :p

Bad jokes aside,
I am a multi-earthler, as I like and accept the idea of multiple dimensions.
What I think, at this moment, 'our' reality should be the Base earth and all those others should deviate from 'us'. So maybe not Prime, or 01 or something like that.
We could look the other time lines like as roots and work with that. Or going like a Github branching system and call it instead of root, master (branch).
I'm not sure about that though.
I like the baseline idea as well, it kinda is similar to mine. So... Yeah :)

I agree with [ name deleted to avoid spoilers ] in one of the extrarealities that Astra visits in "Team-Ups and Crossovers", that there is no reason to assume that our reality has a unique privileged position. But the same would apply to any other Earth as well. So "Baseline Earth" gets my vote, unless we run into a paratime civilization that already has their own nomenclature in place.

If there are other dimensions or other universes, them it is completely possible that this planet is not called earth at all. It's also possible that language is dramatically different than it is today. So whatever we end up calling ourselves, it's really irrelevant, because there's a good chance that the other dimensions will call themselves something different.
True as well. Probability is also, that in one dimension no humans ever existed or the earth never got a moon. Or it got destroyed in that process.
Another theory could be that in one dimension the human got killed by the great filter and the barrier had been in front of them.

This is true, but it could be about how CoT Earth labels things. CoT Earth may also be able to tell which was first that started all the changes from.

So Africa might still be divided by colonialism. So... They wouldn't expand their weaponry, but would still make bigger progress in technology. However it could mean that they are still pro war and so might find out about other dimensions and going to find a way travel between them and create the first transdimensional wars. They reach baseline earth and see the vast group of superpowered people. So they want to hunt those people down and use them for their research. To create supersoldiers.
That would be nice. Well gamewise.

If it's an in-game nomenclature, it should make sense for characters in the game to use it. So unless they had reason to believe that a certain other timeline was more real than their own, or the nomenclature came from somewhere else, I can't see them calling their own Earth "Earth 2.0".

Though they may consider themselves the only Earth that matters?
Or it could be a matter of "We've realized we weren't the first Earth"
Yeah they do. They weirdly know that there are more than one earth unlike earth 1.

Unfortunately,I don't recall where/when/who (beyond being most likely in Season Two of The Flash) the Earth One/Earth Two terminology was first used. But I can see Harrison Wells of Earth Two having used it while he was in Earth One, to residents of Earth One.

I believe I recall someone saying something along the lines of "To us, you're earth (whatever number)."
Not even all Earth's have a number as there is Earth X. Which one has to ask, why not just call it Nazi Earth.
Though I believe they even changed the Nazi symbol in the episode, but I'm not 100% sure they did (good cross over event, but I don't recall the symbol use).
They've had multiple earths in the DC universe since the advent of the Silver Age of Comics. They did it to separate the original versions of some heroes that DC acquired through buyouts.
ex: the original Green Lantern powers were magic based and not alien tech, still a lantern. Same with Superman. Golden Age Superman was relegated to Earth 2 as I recall. Same with Jay Garrick and Scott ??? (magic Green Lantern).
I prefer "Frogtopia Prime."

Yeah, but then to connect to another reality we'd need to do some port forwarding and that's always a pain.

Ohh please, a few port forwarding (if any at all) is so much better than having to use a full NAT gateway for each planet and each universe.
And just an fyi, sequential zeros can be shortened to just a double colon (::) so ours could be written as just ::0.
