I've been pretty active here, and from what I can tell issue 0 is: a character creator and a limited test environment with chat features and I'm guessing target dummies.

We are quickly running out of 2018 days on the calendar. So get your pitchforks polished up in the anticipation of the forum skewering that is brewing. So that is basically where we stand, ~35 days away with no details.

The point is we don't know how access will be handled for people that missed the original Kickstarter. There has been no communication about how it will work and we are running out of time (based on a deadline MWM created). All we can do is be patient and try to decipher the tidbits that do leak out to better understand where the code is progressing and where it still needs help. Only when it starts to look like a real product will we get any real information.

The 2018 goal was set in 2016. At least, the Missing World's Media Facebook page banner was uploaded in 2016, which says 2018.

Quickly, CoT is not the first to say "this year" and release in November/December of the year. Maybe I'm just pessimistic but when I hear "coming soon in 2019" I think "coming holiday 2019" by default.

As for access to Issue 0, in case anyone was distracted by the cool costumes in the most recent update, this note was in the text:
'We do still intend to give the first wave of backers access to it before end of year.'

So while that doesn't mention the Second Chance, it does indicate a date (I suppose 'before end of year' can equate to Fall 2018). But note that they say 'first wave of backers,' not 'all backers.' Hopefully that will help keep the pitchforks on their wall hooks when end of the year rolls around and not everyone has access yet. But also notice they say they 'intend' for this to happen, so things could still change in either direction.

Whether or not it's right, I think it's safe to assume that there are going to be torch's and pitchforks regardless. They've had Fall 2018 for a long time now, and we are in the last 1/3 of "Fall" and no date or any concrete information really. I really couldn't care less as I'm not an original backer so I won't be getting access anyway, plus I care more about the game and less about the chargen so this isn't really that exciting for me. But there are thousands of backers all wanting, maybe expecting, to be IN the chargen this year and they won't be since they are starting with a small group first.

Being this far in, and this close to the end of Fall 2018 with no firm date able to be set, I am expecting an announcement pushing it back to Q1 of 2019, probably March. I just think if you're still unsure enough at this point that you can't set a date then it's probably not going to happen.

Thanks for that new quote from Facebook that I wish MWM had posted here on the forums. Especially given that the question has been asked on the recent update thread a couple times now.

Unfortunately it's not uncommon to find bits of important information like that on one of their sites on not on the others. Not sure why they don't make things that like clear and easy to find, especially when so many are asking about it. Oh well.

For Issue #0, i hope MWM will make the "list" of what is release with it and then make a list of the element of each update they 'll put until issue #1

I understand the need to prep for mob rage. Our AB team is working hard on getting things prepped, refining, bug squashing, expanding.

We may have concerns, but we like and trust you folks, and we're extremely grateful that you're doing this project in the first place.

I think clearer communication will be the best pre-emptive defence against the pitchforks.

I'm not seeing any banner either, but I've followed darnstrong's instructions. He forgot to add 'Try to calm down any butterflies you might have at the thought of possibly getting access in the near future.'

I do not see a banner at the top of the forum. I do not see a post on the KS page. I do not see anything new on the CoT main page. But to be fair I am not a KS backer, so maybe there is some sort of smart filtering mechanism in place that excludes forum accounts like mine ([I]but if that was the case, why not just post the info on the KS-only portion of the forums and be done with it[/I]).

Now that the information is sorta 'out' it will trickle through the fan base. If the KS backers follow this thread or they know someone who follows this thread they will become informed. In my mind the banner is a mechanism to call attention to something, not a vehicle for transmitting information since it is transitional in its nature. This (banner approach) feels like a friendly bread-crumb-like invitation to venture down the imminently accessible AB/CC rabbit hole. Something that a friend would tease another friend with to get them to join in some fun times.

It Isn’t meant as a tease and I’m sorry if it came off that way. The message is for KS backers on the forums to pre-check their e-mail filters for their KS used e-mail for the upcoming e-mail for Issue 0. Sending them an e-mail to check their e-mail is rather counter-productive.

Calling attention to something is a form of transmitting information. We didn’t use the traditional banner location for this either.

I'm in the same boat as the others- KS and website email is the same, I get the KS emails as expected. No banner.

No banner here, but I am the +1 in a Dynamic Duo donation, and [u]not[/u] the one who gets the emails.

On the plus side, the room mate [u]is[/u] getting the emails, so all is well on that front.

You know, that might actually be a fun community event. You enter yourself as either a Hero/Villain/Vigilante/etc. and then the community gets to vote for whomever based on multiple factors (i.e. costume and bio - maybe more?). Then after all of the “winners” are chosen, that pool gets sent on to the Titan of the Year category. That one could be left to Devs / community managers appointed by them.
