This is Talos, My Massive Melee Gladiator(Brute in old COH terms)
The name is taken, I looked it up in Marvel Wiki.
and I have no idea if we will ever have giant metal fists for MM, You would think it would be easy just upscale a gauntlet,
I would still have to buy a pair of giant fists as vanity pets to float about and there is no word on that either.
Still the concept is way cool.
The fists are mental constructs, not true metal. but they act like solid steel. But being mental constructs, Magneto cannot mess with them.
However, any psychic attack can sever his mental link and make the gauntlets disappear
The gauntlets can lift 25 tons, so he has some serious super strength. I can just imagine a giant fist from heaven crushing an enemy from above and slowly rising dripping blood and gore.
in my fiction he is a glass cannon, having no natural armor. In the game I will buy invulnerability if it has a weakness to mental attacks.
He will be a hero because he doesn't want White Peregrine kicking his but.

First, why would you have to think of a new name? Unless you plan on making money off it, there is nothing legally Marvel can do to keep you form using it. Or do you just want something that no one has used before? Good luck with that!
Second, there are three types of damage types: Physical, Energy and Exotic. So there won't be anything like a susceptibility to mental attacks in CoT.
And I really like the concept. I hope they give you a way to make it.
[hr]I like to take your ideas and supersize them. This isn't criticism, it is flattery. I come with nothing but good will and a spirit of team-building. If you take what I write any other way, that is probably just because I wasn't very clear.
The name is actually more my thing than legalities. I will agonize over names until I am happy. I have another thread about a commander based on a batman style villain and I've got favorites but have not settled yet.
I envy those who have names come easy to them. I picked Talos because of a giant Metal statue in the Movie, Jason and the Argonauts.
As for defense, from what I read some sets will be pretty even across the board and some will be weak against one type of damage.
still its an RP type of thing.
Talos won't even have a mask...just a pair of sunglasses. And a motorcycle if they come out with one.

nice concept and I like how the rough sketch looks.
namewise...that has always been a sticking point for me. I will cycle through various ideas until one just 'clicks' into place. sometimes this can happen immediately, other times it can take weeks until I find one that 'fits' perfectly. I typically run through the obvious first, basic name in other languages, synonyms, etc. then look at the characters 'character'. does the character have a theme or totem that they associate with, etc.
a name that fits the character really does 'complete' them, especially if it can be some how tied to them in some fashion. in many ways the name is as important as how they look and/or what they can do.

Name: Steve Drake
Hero Name: Talos
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Nationality: American
Origin: Mutant
Appearance: Steve is a weightlifter and keeps in excellent shape. He has light brown hair and blue eyes. He is always quick to smile. Because of his mutant physiology, he has never ever had a cavity.
Hero Costume: Leather Jacket. Black gloves and boots. Jeans and a t-shirt. He wears either dark sunglasses or a visor. Steve’s strategy for the moment is to blend in to the crowd, rather than wear a flashy hero costume.
Skills of Note: He has trained in boxing and competed with the Golden Gloves.
Equipment: Motorcycle, helmet, folding mirrored visor (the only thing he wears that is like a mask), Swiss army knife (you would be surprised how useful that is to a hero). The motorcycle is equipped with a fake license plate that he can flip with a switch. It is non descript, standard issue bike otherwise.

Personality: Steve is a nice guy, quick to smile and slow to anger. He gets along with most people. He is a scrapper however; knowing when to throw a punch. Steve is not big on flashy hero outfits, preferring gloves and a concealing visor or just a pair of shades. His great joy in life is a motorcycle he spent two years saving up for. He would love to tour the country but finances are holding him back.
Natural Strengths: Steve is a natural scrapper, he is stubborn and unwilling to give up. He likes most everyone he sees.
Natural Weaknesses: Steve has not a single detective bone in his body. He tends to be overconfident, learning his limitations the hard way.
History: Steve grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. He spent his youth camping, hunting, and fishing all over the American west. He was attracted to boxing as a kid, spending years in the Golden Gloves organization. His powers manifested in his teens, forcing him to quit boxing as he was increasingly difficult to hurt. His parents know of his abilities and encouraged him to be a hero. He really has no idea where to begin.
Steve was laid off with his latest job. He saw it coming, and saved up. With nothing to hold him back, he left Phoenix looking to join a hero team full time.
As Talos, his career was mostly rescue, plucking people from burning buildings. He actually made the papers when he entered a burning building, found a little girl hiding in a closet, and reunited her with her mother seconds before the building collapsed. The only known photo of Talos came from a small town paper after he defeated a motorcycle gang robbing the bank. The gang is the Hellions, a national organization known for hiring low level mutants as muscle. Talos on their list as he put a mutant named Pyre into the slammer. In the fight, Talos actually tore the prosthetic horns right out of Pyre’s head. Steve still has those horns.
Powers:
Natural Armor: Steve’s bones are made up of organic steel. They look white, do not register to a metal detector, but act like solid steel. In other words he can take a hit and keep going. Now at 19, his skin is increasingly resistant. He found out the hard way he is bullet proof and even survived the blast of a hand grenade. Steve suspects (correctly) that more powerful munitions will kill him.
Iron Fist of the Colossus. User can summon a pair of giant steam-punk Iron Fists. They look like giant floating gauntlets but are not hollow; appearing to be filled with whirring machinery. Each fist is three and a half feet wide from knuckle to knuckle, and is 6 feet long. While appearing to be made of grey steel, they are just mental constructs, and thus Magneto cannot affect them.
Strengths:
1) Each Fist can punch with super strength, leaving a huge crater.
2) Each Fist can be used as a very good shield, acting like solid steel.
3) Each Gauntlets can open, carry the user in its palm, and FLY
4) The Gauntlets are as dexterous as a human hand would be at that size. They can pluck people from a burning building and remove them to safety without harm.
5) The Fists can lift 25 tons. The strength can be toned down to gently handle fragile objects or people.
Weaknesses:
1) If the user is knocked unconscious, the Fists disappear
2) If both fists are destroyed, Steve will be knocked unconscious. They react like solid steel, but it can be done.
3) Psychic attacks immediately make the Fists disappear (the Fist is a mental construct and the user has no mental defense). Telepathy will not trigger this, but any mental attack will sever the link between Steve and his Gauntlets. This will really suck if he is flying at the time.
4) Range is 1000 yards. The Gauntlets disappear beyond that range.
Tactics: Steve prefers to fight at range.
Likes: Camping, hunting, fishing, Girls, dancing, boxing, Techno Swing (music style), Motorcycles
Dislikes: Rap, pretentious people, Biker gangs,

I am working with another artist for a screenshot look at Talos in combat. The goal is to look like this is an animation still. a bit more expensive, but this will have action.

Well I have the basic pic, a fight scene, and now I'm going for an after fight shot. Talos just got done beating up Space Ghost.
I don't know why, but I love having my heroes beat up Space Ghost and Aquaman.
for some reason, on any cross dimensional adventures they always get confused with who are the heroes and who are the villains.

Talos has flowers and a heart shaped box of candy in his hands. the Gauntlets are in a "what?!" post. He's asking a gal (maybe Black Falcon) out, and she is giving him the Talk to the hand pose.
Maybe that, but I'm not really satisfied with it. What do you guys think? any suggestions? I'm looking for something more...heroic.

If he's asking someone out with chocolates and flowers why would he have the gauntlets out? Can he not put them away/dismiss them?
Have him fighting a giant monster. One gauntlet has caught the creatures fist/appendage the other is winding up for a strike.

How about Talos eating lunch. One giant hand is doing a thumbs-up, he’s sitting on the fist and leaning back on the thumb. The other hand is flat, palm up, and he’s using it as a table.
I was thinking about having him standing in the palm of one hand flying and the other behind him pointing forward...but it was really cheesy.
I'm looking for a more heroic pose. I really like the character, but I'm suffering from artist's block right now.

How about, standing in one hand’s palm with a person behind him that he’s shielding with his own body, his own palm outstretched, while his second gauntlet is also presenting its palm forward in imitation and blocking some blast or explosion or other danger.
You could show him captured. His hands are bound across each other behind his back in a sealed cask. So, the gloves are stuck floating in the same crossed position even though they're not bound, but a cage has been built around them. His glasses are damaged, letting you see that he's glaring defiantly at a shadowed figure in the foreground.
Or...
He's just out for a stroll but looks utterly confused as someone flies by on a giant metal bow tie (with similar construction as the gloves).
Or...
The city is being attacked by giant moles. There's only one thing to do...
Or...
An elevated train track is crumbling, and he's holding it up with both gloves as a train goes over.
Or....
A building, presumably full of people because it's mid-day, is collapsing and being held up by both gloves.
Or...
He tries to swat a fly away from his face, causing one of the gloves to smash through three parked cars behind him.
Or...
He tries to smack a mosquito on his arm, causing one of the gloves to slam down on him.
Or...
Giant air guitar.
Or...
Using both gloves to safely set down a fully loaded bus, a visibly destroyed bridge in the background.
Or...
Getting randomly attacked by a bunch of wild animals, including a fox, a falcon, an old rabbit, and a frog.
