Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

To purchase your copy of the City of Titans Launcher, visit our store at https://store.missingworldsmedia.com/ A purchase of $50 or more will give you a link to download the Launcher for Windows or Mac based machines.

^This.

I'm curious as to how many people will attend. If possible, get a rough head-count, please?

This should be interesting. I

This should be interesting. I still am very much puzzled by the need for three distinct competitors to continue to place so much emphasis on "community" and cooperation between them. While I would not expect a fistfight to break out at PAX West, I'm curious to see how far these entities are willing to go in support of each other and the impact that will have on the player base. We have already seen some clues of where one group has modified their production schedule in difference to the activities of another. This is starting to get into some dangerous territory where the perception of collusion is just as bad as the perception of cooperation is good.

Let's assume each of these successors make it into production. Then my expectation would be that there will be three communities; not one. Certainly, it's reasonable to assume that there will be overlap with many people playing multiple games. It's also reasonable to assume that many former CoH players will play one or more of these games. But the similarity needs to pretty much end there. Ask yourself how many fantasy MMOs are out there in the world? Then ask how many have a record of openly singing the praises of a competitor? What makes this case of a CoH successor so different/special and is it really a good thing in the long run? Isn't it about time that these guys place the emphasis on what makes them unique so that we, as players, have a clearer picture on what each plans to deliver?

Are we to expect any

Are we to expect any announcements during this? Or concept art/footage?

Or will it mostly be a retrospective and discussion?

In effect we have three communities already forming. What it seems is happening is less spiritual successors and over time it's becoming almost a Heroeslike structure, in a similar manner to games which use a System Shock or Rogue like structure. But to display the differences, one needs to be able to make a direct comparison, and this platform gives us the perfect opportunity for just that.

No, because the focus of the panel is on the successors. Honestly nobody is left there who helped produce CoH that I am aware of. It's only an hour long panel, and we could easily spend the whole thing discussing CoH's own development and shutdown.

I wish I could be there!

I wish I could be there!

I'm most interested to see what the value propositions of each world will be. They won't appear at the same time, and there will be short term benefits to being first, or being first-that-is-not-badly-broken. A drive to start soonest, but not worst. But more interesting will be the long term playability and style.

Playability for CoT seems like being modeled on CoH player preferences, however those end up getting prioritized. In theory, that's perfect. But it will be styled, not copied - team play, tab targeting (mostly, but not solely) and other 'stuff that worked', on a concept level. Reimagined to be unique. I don't know much about SoH or Valiance (the latter is my fault, they've communicated well) but at the very least they're near-future. I like that CoT won't be pre-2000, (CoH felt very 70s-80s), but I think I'll appreciate most something set in the current time. At least it focuses on the potential impact of hundreds or thousands of years of history. Did I mention I'm old? Old-ish.

SoH and V might have significantly different game play, taking what their developers have learned from other games. I play very few other games, so I don't know if there's better systems. It will be interesting to see and I may be very impressed with a better system.

The month of the Kickstarter set my heart on CoT. I have faith they'll tell a good story. But I am also very excited to see what the others bring and I hope they all succeed. I imagine the player base will have huge overlap. I could find myself with a lot of spare time, and CoT might not be ready when that happens. I imagine myself playing CoT plus one. Focus on your strengths at PAX!

I can't make PAX. I have

I can't make PAX. I have questions I would ask of the panel were I there. You (Doctor Tyche or anyone from MWM) may feel free to read them aloud during the discussion if you want. Here they are:

To each of the three projects,
1) How many person-hours of work have gone into your project since it officially began?
2) How many actual people are presently working on your project?
3) How many person-hours of work per week get done on your project, averaging over the last 3 months or so?
4) Explain why your project is going to be successful in a world flooded with more-popular fantasy MMOs, and competing against several established, already successful superhero games in the same niche with big comic book company support, like Marvel and DC.
5) Why bother? There are apparently three projects currently trying to be the CoX "spiritual successor", what makes yours, specifically, necessary given the existence of the other two? Why not join forces to reduce competition?

Ah, good that Valiance is going to have a representative after all. The more perspectives the better.
