After a few months of setting up the place, getting the strange magical portal set up, and Technosis' heavy tinker, the Wanderers, renamed "Young Wanderers" For clarity's sake, were ready for a real 'membership drive'. They had given a notice to city hall, to send any teen heroes in need of a home, or guidance their way. Technosis has managed to write programs and AI's to handle shaping the energy that was given off by the "Machina Mana".
One such precaution was a barrier, that activated around their clock tower when something intended them harm, instantaneous protection! Technosis' suit also worked with the energy now, he was in the monitor room, checking over his new readings, having sent a drone through the mass of energy to explore the other side. There was a buzz at the front door.
"Be down in a sec!" Technosis spoke into the door mix, then hit the in-house com system. "We got some uh..." He flipped the front door camera and sighed. "Some police and two kids outside? Can somebody get that? I've got delicate work going, can't step away!" He lied.
Through the camera he saw a kid in his mid teens, standing with his hand cuffed, a pair of silver goggles on his forehead. Beside him, clinging to his jacket but also surrounded by a dark, almost black, orb of energy, was a girl probably a few years younger.
"Looks kinda surly..." He muttered, then realized the intercom was on "Woops!" He turned it off.
Outside
Tobias grumbled quietly at the manhandling, his long blonde hair had come undone from its ponytail and as he waited at the door. He glanced down at Kami who had refused to leave Tobias' side and used her magic to ensure they didn't seperate the two. Tobias didn't mind, he'd kept intentionally quiet since they had caught him stealing, he thought his stealth aura would keep him hidden, however Kami had forgotten to use her invisibility spell, and got caught. They were lucky the owner decided not to press charges, but unlucky, since the cops decided to take 'charity' on him, they tried taking Kami away, but now she was glued to him via magical barrier.
"Look, Officer uh..." Tobias raised his eyebrows searching for a nametag. "We promise we won't do it again..."
"Jacobs. Yeah, right, and we're making sure ya keep it." The officer rang the buzzer again. The Young Wanderers had put up a flier in city hall, among other places, and since they had Detective Wallace vouching for the lead they would give their attempt at super-human community outreach a try. "C'mon." The officer complained.
