Enemies shouldn't just poof into existence. The undead should rise from the ground. Aliens should be dropped from ships that then bank off back into orbit-and those ships should be interceptable by flyers. Bikers ride in on their bikes. Monsters come out of manholes. Police come by helicopter and cop car. Demons arrive in a burst of hellfire. A golem may burst forth from a cracked wall. At the very least, enemies should come out from behind a door that isn't operable by players. This is nice extra layer of polish that would help put CoT in a higher tier of MMO.
What are some other theatrical entrances for enemies and allies?
I agree that is a nice polish feature. It really increases the immersion of the game. It's more than polish, actually, it really makes a significant difference.
+1!
FIGHT EVIL! (or go cause trouble so the Heroes have something to do.)
Not what I was expecting from the title. . . Of course to this suggestion! Good ambiance influences the player's experience. All the small things add up to make the game feel more alive and enjoyable.
- What if a monster snatches you and pulls you into the sewers? (eek!)
- Leaping through a glass window, shattering it.
- Breaking free from shackles.
- Busting through a wall.
- A crowd of beings consolidate and combine to create a larger more powerful being.
- Summoning Ritual
I'd change to title to also consist of theatrical exits.
- Suicide: Leaping off of a building, shooting self
- Fleeing: Similar strategies to entrances
- Arrested by an officer
- Death itself
- Eaten by another monster
self-destruction

This has been brought up before to help combat the idea of mobs just fading into view when they spawn. Tabula Rasa did this for their mobs... the Thrax got dropshipped in, the Xanx and Atta dug up through the ground, some of the robots came out from machine that built them...(although sometimes they did the drop ship animation if the spawn group that had them also had Thrax present) and the really large robots (forget their name) actually dropped in from the sky, leaving a temporary crater (you would get hurt if it landed on you) and then slowly get upright....
