Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

To purchase your copy of the City of Titans Launcher, visit our store at https://store.missingworldsmedia.com/ A purchase of $50 or more will give you a link to download the Launcher for Windows or Mac based machines.

Why Not Dinosaurs

I think a dinosaur addition in a few years would be awesome. I mean, if the game is living in a time of futuristic tech (despite the setting being decades earlier than today, right?) then surely it isn't outside the realm of possibility for corporations/organizations to have the tech to 'recreate' them. Now, I'm not talking about a dino invasion of Titan City, that would be absurd IMO. I'm talking about one place, either a new section of map or even just a big building, where that organization/corp is housing and creating the dino's and we step in to make sure they don't spread. This could be cool for a few reasons:
First, obviously, DINOSAURS.
- human/dino hybrid
- one massive 'boss' dino, let's be honest it would be a t-rex, could satisfy the giant monster thread request
- again, DINOSAURS
- because the game remembers your choices, this could potentially be an extended story line and you could choose to not destroy all of them? leaving the possibility for them to return in the future
- lastly, again, DINOSAURS.

All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.

I could easily see something

I could easily see something like this handled in CoT as a isolated island off the coast from Titan city... ;)

Alternatively a zone in which

Alternatively a zone in which a time machine went horribly wrong, now there's dinosaurs roaming the streets and half the area is prehistoric!

Champions Online had an island with dinosaurs, also had a giant gorilla.

Also, I would prefer NOT

Also, I would prefer NOT historically accurate dinosaurs. I want velociraptors more akin to the movies than the supposed real feathered tiny ones. Etc. Heck, let's even throw in some velocirapthors with laser beams attached to their heads.

All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.

Yeah there could easily be an "alternate reality" or "time travel" version of the main Titan City map that's been overrun by dinosaurs or whatever. I always loved the bits of sci-fi movies that showed parts of famous places that were affected by some kind of dystopian future or catastrophe. An old classic example of this was from the 70s era Logan's Run movie:

There have been plenty of examples of this in other movies/shows like The Omega Man and The Planet of the Apes movies just to name a few.

This isn't THAT far off of what they really could do. I mean, if they did make an isolated island where some group recreated dinos they could be 'programmed' or somewhat obedient and they very well could ride them and put armor and lasers on them.

Personally, I would love running around an island on my character fighting dinosaurs with laser beams. This would be pretty epic in unreal 4.

Someone made a Jurassic Park.

Someone made a Jurassic Park... Then villains came, took over the island and fitted the Dino's with lasers. They control them with technology.

Now the park is an evil fortress, filled with dinosaurs, lasers, rock music, and neon lights.

I agree. Dinosaurs for hire was one of my favorites. I got the Malibu comics version in the 90's.

I like to take your ideas and supersize them. This isn't criticism, it is flattery. I come with nothing but good will and a spirit of team-building. If you take what I write any other way, that is probably just because I wasn't very clear.

I'd rather assume if it hasn't been mentioned it isn't being worked on. That way I have low expectations for the game and won't be let down. And anything that CoT DOES have will be a great surprise.

I think dinosaurs makes it

I think dinosaurs makes it kinda childish. I don't recall dinosaurs in comic books or comic movies. I like keeping the realism that comic books have. Aside from the power stuff.

Dude the great thing about superheroes is it's ability to smoosh all the awesome things together, and too much realism in a genre that uses a lot fantasy elements can ruin the medium.

LOL Well... Here's the thing.

LOL Well... Here's the thing. I like the idea of the game being as real as possible. I like buildings, streets, cars. Dealing with bank robberies, thugs, crime lords. Calling missions "missions" and not "quests."

I don't mind having creatures with magic. There are some heroes who learned from magic. So if we are going to have vampires, maybe witches, and other magical creatures, that's fine. Dinosaurs are not something I want to fight. I hated how in CO they had robot dinosaurs. Made it even more kiddish to me. I wouldn't not play if there were dinosaurs, or throw a fit, but just my opinion.

I agree with you Wolfgang.

I agree with you Wolfgang. To a point.

It works on a limited scale, but if we see that type of enemy all over the city, even just a city block, it becomes terrible.

Series of missions by some tech genius who makes them and robs banks, different story.

Did you guys miss the post where I/we said they would be isolated? I literally said it would be absurd if they were rampant in the city. I said either an isolated island or a single building/lab. I'm not about turning CoT into a Dinosaur game...but adding them in on a limited scale...that you could choose not to participate in...would be cool.

I was just saying, it's not bad, to Wolfgang, if it's not all over the city type of deal.

But now that I think on this...what if it was mecha dinosaurs though?! O.O

Well, to be fair, CoT's

Well, to be fair, CoT's anything can just as easily be uncool compared to another games as well.

From what I've seen of their melee fighting so far, it looks suckie compared to the likes of Blade & Soul melee combat for example.

You can all ask yourself "why

You can all ask yourself "why not dinosaurs" all you want. I am going to ask myself "why dinosaurs". I mean, come on, where is the originality in using dinosaurs? It's been done, like a billion times, and it just gets lamer and lamer every single time. But then again the same argument can be made of aliens, inter dimensional beings, various traditional monsters and the typical Cthulhu mythos type bad guys.

I'd like to see something more original. Like a science cult that reanimates dead villains, or parts of dead villains mixed together to make something more random. Could be a fun story line when they get a hold of the corpses of fallen heroes and use them against the city they once protected.

I mean, at least then you have interaction, where with dinosaurs all you get is "RAWR I EAT YOU".

Ironically if CoT had dinosaurs that literally ran around saying things (in understandable English) like "RAWR I EAT YOU" that would be funny as hell and at the very least make them more unique in this game than in others where all they do is make the standard RAWR sounds. ;)

That idea is insanely good. Id love to see and fight zombie heroes. Very Marvel Zombies-ish which I loved and definitely a much better idea than dinosaurs, or even mech dinos which like you said is very unoriginal.

Not sure I'd enjoy an island

Not sure I'd enjoy an island/preserve built around a dinosaur theme since that seems a bit overdone elsewhere, but I could definitely see one or more of:

A) Genetics corporation with massive underground base - level after level of experimental hybrid and resurrected creatures including dinos...could have a bit of a horror story behind it, creepy environment, etc.
B) At least one alien species with dino-like properties, either with high tech or ancient reptilian magic, possibly involving a secret invasion that we uncover...
C) time portal / accident where we visit an alternate future version of (part of) the city, overrun by the results of [A] when things went wrong...maybe with a sort of mystery as in the movie "12 Monkeys", or lean toward a Planet of the Apes style drama with alignment choices for the player as they interact with the new civilization(s) the hybrid creatures have formed.

The zombies heroes idea - or robots given the personalities of fallen heroes (that may have malfunctioned, or got twisted by an archvillain) - also would seem fairly original, at least on the MMO stage.

Side note...Philosoraptor easter egg?

Come on... everyone knows the absolute worse "time travel with dinosuars" show was Terra Nova. Things like 12 Monkeys or the Planet of the Apes saga (minus the 2001 misfire) are like works of Shakespeare in comparison. ;)

Revenge is motivation enough. At least it's honest...

The zombies heroes idea - or robots given the personalities of fallen heroes (that may have malfunctioned, or got twisted by an archvillain) - also would seem fairly original, at least on the MMO stage.

This turns out not to be the case; Millenium City has been experiencing outbreaks of zombie heroes (specifically, those who died trying to stop Dr. Destroyer when he blew up most of Detroit) ever since October of aught nine.

That idea is insanely good. Id love to see and fight zombie heroes. Very Marvel Zombies-ish which I loved and definitely a much better idea than dinosaurs, or even mech dinos which like you said is very unoriginal.

Don't forget that City of Heroes already had this same concept with the Vashilok and their Eidolons.

I like the idea of having dinosaurs in the game with a savage land-esque area. Would even love to see some dinos as pets of a mastermind class. Also, every 80s cartoon reference in this thread is epic! Best childhood cartoons ever.

That's awesome. I never

That's awesome. I never really knew the lore of the Vahzilok or any other group. I just kicked their butts!!

I would really be more open to dinosaurs if they included pterodactyls flying around the land to pose some danger/challenge to those who can fly. ;)

My idea is different from what CoH had though. CoH were too run of the mill for what it should have been. I'm talking about taking chunks of titans, stitching them together, and having them actually have powers like they did when alive. Random powers, because the no name titans that got chopped up weren't important enough to actually be known by the general public. Then maybe even sticth some tech into them, random gun effects, or random melee weapons.

Even the CoH Eidolons had defined power specs and such. Which make no sense at all if you think about it. And as to them using "tech" they had one dead thing that had, if i remember right, some kind of poison flamethrower or explosion? Lame, so many more possibilities.

STO laser dinosaurs and CO

STO laser dinosaurs and CO zombie heroes...huh, I never realized they'd done that. Guess I never logged in at the right time, or visited the right planets to see either one (and have since stopped playing entirely).
