Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.

Oh no, she is a villain, she is an assassin on top of her thievery, and operates both in dual capacity...she simply chooses every now and then to aid others if she feels like such, and often does, but only if she feels like such....

Unlike Unknown who mindset barely even grasps the idea of property. Being a collective personal possession an alien concept. On the flip side he or they have very little material needs. So basically he could be a villain but he just doesn't care. Same with helping others, he would do it but normally he would have to be asked to first. If he saw people trapped in a fire he would most likely watch until someone calls for help or he gets told to do something.
It's not heartlessness it's indifference.

So roughly we have:
Talon: Chaotic Neutral
Unknown: True Neutral
Cutting Edge: Chaotic Good
A little like the opposite of Uatu, the Watcher. Where Uatu is obligated to remain neutral, but has a deep sense of moral conscience that constantly conflicts with his directive; Unknown is under no obligation to stay his hand, but just doesn't "get" altruism. Hehe, maybe you two should switch places.

Yup basically that's it! Thought he also doesn't understand greed and selfishness. The life forms that make his body up are crystal based life forms that grow and live in the vacuum of space. Everything they needed to survive was delivered by the solar winds. So the basic instincts to gather resourced isn't ingrained in it's makeup.
Selflessness and Selfishness are things it's trying to understand. Basically I tried to make Unknown as Neutral as possible.

Well you've done well at portraying that thus far. I applaud you, because that's not easy to do.
Often times, "neutral" just comes off as apathetic, which could be considered a sin of omission. With Unknown though, it's clear that human morality is something he truly doesn't understand. Yet he doesn't come off as naive either. He's just . . . . lacking context.
like you I take a little part of myself and expand it. I have Asperger syndrome I can logically grasp social interactions, but something not clicking. lack of social or emotional reciprocity and impaired nonverbal behaviors in areas such as eye contact, facial expression, posture, and gesture. I know about body language but can't understand it. Roleplaying for me was a form of therapy to grasp things better with the social and emotional parts. Of course one flaw is that it lacked that body language element. It's a bit more complex then that, but that's the part I show with Unknown. Smart yes, aware yes, lacking context and not understanding yes.

Believe it or not, I can sympathize. I was diagnosed with Non-Verbal Learning Disorder, which shares some of the social symptoms such as misunderstanding tone and body language. It's not as severe, I don't think, but it's there.
:D Well if it means anything, RPIng with the both of you has been a entirely worthwhile and enjoyable experience, and I hope to continue such fun with the both of you in the future! For now however, I offer some clarity!
Talon definitely falls under the Chaotic Neutral Alignment, some could even say at the far end of the spectrum she is an anti hero, at worst? A cold blooded murderess who lies and cheats to acquire whatever she sets her sights on, whether a life or set of jewels, etc. In truth Talon is a mix of all of these elements, the grey shade of morality is her sphere, and in absolute honesty?
She is an enigma, she adapts to play whatever part is required of her to accomplish what she believes is right, while also adhering the barest set of a sense of adopted morals: In terms of philosophy, she has tripped down the nature of society down to it's core, operating on the belief that should the weak be left to suffer at the faul of the strong, she rights it as such, but only if it could benefit her at some point in the future, or if the act perpetrated would be too devastating, nor will she ignore halting a violent crime in progress, at least if she can't profit in some way from it...

I suppose Hal, Or Alpha ISR (Infiltration/Scouting/Reconnaissance) 6308, would also fall under the alignment of True Neutral. But he's there for a completely different reason than Unknown.
At this point, he's much like an unprogrammed Warforged, fresh out of the Soul Forge. He has a purpose/mission and the intelligence/resources to achieve that mission. How he chooses to do so is completely up to him. He has five Earth years to gather information on humans, then he must make contact with his creators.

I've run into two snags:
I don't know whether Talon entered Whitehold after her initial trip to the Museum ([url=http://cityoftitans.com/comment/42123#comment-42123]Museum Heist comment 177[/url]) via the door or her window, and if the latter which apartment it would be.
And I don't know if Whitehold's magical protections are from somebody as good as or better than Hypatia is (very competent but not yet at a super-mage level), or if Hypatia had to offer her services to the Landlord in that regard.
Either way, once Talon entered the building, Hypatia can't keep the picture going. She can try to pick it up again after Talon leaves, but the inside of Whitehold I think should be a No-Scry Zone. At least for Hypatia. For now.

She entered through her window, for clarification, and yes, this was before the battle, so that would have been a period of blank time between that and her crying the battle herself...
And yes, Whitehold would have significant magical protection, due to the Landlord himself being a recipient of Herculean strength via empowered bracers, that aura of protection extending to the building...

Hypatia will be willing to pay extra rent (beyond the extra bedroom, bath, and fireplace) if needed for modifying those protections so she can scry out of her apartment. Deliberately trying to scry into someone else's apartment, I'm sure, would be counter to the lease agreement. ^_^
Can we presume the Landlord hired someone competent and trustworthy to handle tech security?

Haha - The Shaper is actually a concept I've been playing around with for a while...It does have plenty of weaknesses, but it also is my way of explaining say, body-sliders and drastic hair transitions in a costume editor like a facemaker or how an icon employee can modify someone's height or weight or hair color...
weaknesses include but not limited to: can't mess with anyone's abilities, can't change magical/mental/etc. auras, doesn't update photo ID, can't provide a change of clothes, can't modify speech patterns/linguistics/enunciation, has no impact on body language outside of the window adapting to a new height/weight, can't regrow limbs or remove implants, cannot heal - only related to restructuring bone and muscle size and definition (use on a fracture will have unexpected consequences), does not change the shape of the ear or dental markers, not always permanent, and doesn't do faces.

yep.. only his height, weight and coloring has changed. I can edit the beard to be glued on with spirit gum if that's too much. Hair style is a moderate stretch of a styling from where his mohawk used to be.

Yeah, the Shaper wasn't supposed to be anything more than my RP representation of a Facemaker or an Icon employee. As such, there are still plenty of RP reasons someone would be identified past such a transformation, hence why auras and body language and such aren't affected.

Dramatic, but I'm pretty sure the air embolism trick isn't possible by just pressing on the vein. Now, if Katrina were to inject enough air into the vein, that [i]might[/i] do the trick. Check this page out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_embolism

I read over the air embolism page prior, and it was my fault for not illustrating that Katrina, who posses inhuman but not superhuman strength, created the needed air pocket, in theory, to travel to the heart and trigger death by blockage of the right ventricle, my mistake!

I'm sorry, I wasn't clear. I didn't mean that it wasn't possible due to strength level. I meant that simply pressing on the vein wouldn't create an air bubble. I'm a licensed phlebotomist, so part of my trade is pressing on veins. To create an embolus, you have to inject air into the vein.

Well given that Talon uses her windows as an entrance and exit. I doubt there be security alarms being triggered unless someone saw him sneak in or Talon hits the alarm button. So don't believe he would notice.

Magical genetics experiment. The twin that was with her was a mouse-type. They named eachother Mouse and Cat as sort of an inside joke between them. She's been learning witchcraft/sorcery for... a little over 5 years at this point.

Just for funsies, here's what I have for Mouse so far =)
Name: Experiment 14b - Felis
Birth Name: Unknown
Nickname: Mouse
Age: 17
Height: 5'
Kidnapped as an infant by a madwoman needing more test subjects for her work in melding genetic manipulation with magical energies in order to create the 'perfect' being. This being would be able to harness the energy of magic practically from birth.
Mouse and her twin Cat were the last... and the most sucessful. Unlike Mouse, her twin Cat had the rodent features while Mouse has the feline. They gave eachother their names when only children, and those names stuck. Other than the times they were separated for testing and surgeries they clung to eachother for something they both needed... safety, family, love, touch that was about caring for eachother as opposed to causing pain.
When her twin was disposed of as being an unsatisfactory product, Mouse was truly crushed. Her world had been taken from her.
A kind lab tech helped Mouse to escape before she, as well, was taken for destruction. Now, five years later, she's learning to control her talents, and make her way in the world.

So, I was hoping to jump into the RP in a bit, and I tried to read the whole thread but wasn't very successful. If I do need to, I will, but is it okay if I just wander in? I'm a little new to RP of this kind but I'd love to learn. :)
Ohh a newbie! Wecome don't worry trying to read up on everything that happened nearly impossible on a good RP thread. More so when some of the stories goes to other threads. Come on in pick an apartment to rent and we help you move.
Basic Forum/Chat Rp rules.
1.) Don't type something that another person does. Say "Goes to punch bad guy in the gut." instead of "Punches bad guy in the gut."
2.) Is no God Modeing. Sure your character has superpowers, but he/she has to be hit sometimes. Even Superman died once!
3.) we try to keep Whitehold itself combat free. Outside the building something else but inside try not to mess the paint job the Landlord an 8 foot tall brute.
4.) The most important rule. HAVE FUN! If the Rp becomes stressful something is wrong talk out problems you have in the OOC. If you have questions or need advice ask we be more then glad to help.

Trust me even when you think you got all the kinks out things will change on you. The most fun is when a character seems to take on a life of it's own and say or do something you didn't think ahead of time.

Yeah, I can hardly imagine it. :) Alright, so I might have a potential here, but I'd like to run it by you guys, if that's alright:
Name: Goes by Klade (usually), no last name; many, many aliases
Age: Unknown; whispers of him in small circles date back decades
Physical appearance: Dreadfully disfigured on left side of face and neck; average height; fit build but not gym-every-week fit; I'll save the outfit for later
Description: Professional killer; people who have been in 'the business' for a while know of him, vaguely; past is mostly unknown but at some point his body was infused with magic; he can be seen as cold and unfeeling but has occasional moments of kindness, much dry humor and sarcasm
Apologies if this is the wrong place to put this but I wanted your opinions, if possible.
Might have a problem if he's a known killer. Talon gets by because so far the authorities have only a masked figure to go on and she's more kin to Cat woman or the Huntress. Whitehold primary a Hero location. Oh we should so start a Villain side apartment place.

He's not known, so that shouldn't be a problem. He's more of a 'make people disappear' guy. In order to be more commonly known you have to leave survivors. :) And he's a drifter, getting jobs where he can, so it being a hero location might not be too bad. But a redside (or equivalent) location would be cool.

Blackfort is a polar opposite of the blueside name, but there can be better.
I'm brewing up an idea. Unlike Whitehold the villain side going to have a sleazy small man who's nickname is Ratz! Yeah the contact Ron used for the Crossing the line thread.
Of course the big question isn't what's the name of the place. It's will the Villain place be high class or low class. High class wealthy Villains could always use the place as a safe house/storage area.

Why not both? Class could be determined by floor, with the lowest floors being slum-like and the highest floors being akin to Manhattan penthouses. Depending on how tall the building is, you could see an improvement in conditions and amenities every 5 to 10 floors.

That's how I see the Whitehold. Ron living on just the second floor has a very basic place. What I mean is outside and lobby for whitehold I see those as middle class nice clean a touch of fancy but nothing gilded.

Names...Blackmoor. Redcrest, The Poe Building, Ghost Tower, Glasswell, Blackwell, Carmine Abbey (renovated/repurposed church), Guanines Tower (anagram of sanguine), The Maisombre Plantation...
The name would help describe the outside, but I think the inside has a pretty solid foundation - Ratz, a small and sleazy owner with his own tuff to back up his fluff, would be a perfect contrast to Biggun (as I've affectionately stuck to calling him). I think the structure of it should be like a large building that doesn't advertize it's business, specializes in silence and obstruction, effectively runs an entire building of safe houses. The irony is, it's rare anyone is home, but sometimes they're solid/primary bases of operations, high rent costs due to frequent turnover and unreliability of when the next payment/tenant will come along, and late payments get the response of new locks and a turnover that can cause serious risks for the next "tenant" ... I've got two options for TK to already use it - his normal safehouse and "Thursday," so it'd be cool to have more situations that he could cause a mess for. I dunno, what do you guys think?

This what I got in my head. A former High class Hotel renovated into apartments. The construction finally got done. The building itself is over hundred years old (need to see what location it would have been to survive the great fire.) used for Alcohol smuggling during Prohibition so it has hidden passages and hidden rooms. One of the hidden rooms was a speak easy bar. Now turned into an illegal gambling room with black Jack, Poker, and a few other games. As well as monitors set up to show video feeds of fights going on in the city. So the crooks can bet on what who would win. So say a fight brakes out between Captain Awesome and the Villain Wrecking ball. Bets can be placed on the two fighters. Hmm need a Villain version of Oracle someone that can easily hack into security cameras and TV network feeds.
Cheep apartments are efficiency level. One maybe two rooms with bathroom and kitchenette. High priced rooms would be the former Penthouses and Suites.

Yeah! Pretty solid historical concept. But what to do about heroes finding the place? Does it "move" or does it have other magical wards and forget-mes or even like in Push someone has Shadowed the entire building?
It's kind of a known that villains know of the whitehold, given that Theo knows where Jeremy lives, Ron's reformed, Katrina skirts a fine line...heck even Jeremy hasn't been established hero or villain yet, and that's just who I've worked/interacted with!

Whitehold I think has a rep of being harder to brake into then fort Nox. For the soon to be named Lair I like the magical protectiveness idea. People know it's there but details slip their minds. Clients are immune to the spell due to the Contract... when the contract is over or broken the spell takes hold.
Hmm maybe not Ratz as owner he just handles the business part of it. The Real owner some mage or sorcerer someone that doesn't want to be bothered by the paperwork of running the place. Heck even have him be as old as the building perhaps he helped design it integrating the MAGIC into it construction.
Whispers of strange events and tales of people gone missing at the Old hotel eventually spread and business soon trickled and ended all together forcing the owner to seek to re-purpose the building. In the 1950, through the 70s the building housed a club and offered the party goers entertainment that wasn't official. In the 80s crack down on drug use and prostitution again forced the business side of the building to sink into the red. It sat empty in the 90's and on till 2010 when reconstruction began opening it's doors once again in 2012 as the apartment building.
Given that history I like to go with something Tower. Oh maybe just the Tower Apartments. No one really remembers the original name everyone just called the place the Tower Hotel and the name stuck.

Oh countess Nocturnal! Care for ownership of a fine down town establishment! Think she could fit the Magical angle well and give Gladatoria something to do with her. That character seems to be the type that would plan in advance.

A bit obvious with a name like that it be a Villain location. I'm liking the magical throws you off the track effect so how about a name that has a magical angle to it...

Python Tower!? Ha Ha I kinda like it, but it makes me think Monty Python....
I like the idea that the name and location are enchanted to be forgotten by anyone not seeking refuge, but it still deserves the/an original name of the building... hmm...
Side note: as I mentioned on Pyrolizer's backstory thread I realized he'd register as a small disruption on telluric currents and ley lines, so magic users WOULD pick up something from him, even if right now he'd blip as a false-positive for magic user.

I keep thinking it could be named after the original investor/architect, or some defining feature of the building.

I probably should've waited for the redside apartments. Would I need to announce it or whatever IC if I move him to the Grayson?
Naw given that you just started and your character isn't established as a regular. Just make a post that he didn't like Whitehold and decided to go someplace else. Like if he was shopping for an apartment instead of having one. Or you can tie it into Gladatoria story and have him show up to help or even be working for the killer. Send Gladatoria a Private message and talk out ideas.

Alright, first off, love the idea of Grayson Tower, has a very nice feel to it...and perhaps while Cordelia does not own the building, she helped establish the wards with her architect as a favor to it's owner, a bit of repayment as she may frequent it as the Contessa? :)
