Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

To purchase your copy of the City of Titans Launcher, visit our store at https://store.missingworldsmedia.com/ A purchase of $50 or more will give you a link to download the Launcher for Windows or Mac based machines.

What happens to the unreached stretch goals?

Congrats to Missing Worlds Media for completing the City of Titans KS successfully. Not only will PC and Mac users coexist in the same game, but we have added auras, detailed wings, a total of five powers per specialization on launch, and an extra costume set and city area on launch (Great for a start).

My question is what will happen to the stretch goals that weren't reached in time?

Will they get slowly added in as revenue comes in, or are they permanently on the cutting room floor?

Not a dev but I'm almost

Not a dev but I'm almost positive the stretch goals are still out there to be funded. I think they will simply have to come up with different perks and rewards that aren't associatied with KS. Can't imagine anything left on the cutting room floor since the 2,000,000 stretch goal was way out there. I think the more they get funded, the more they can put in at launch and that will make the game more appealing to someone/some entity that would fund the final rollout of the game since that could cost millions.

At some point, somewhere, MWM

At some point, somewhere, MWM people told us that unmet stretch goals just meant those projects would not likely be ready on launch day, but they would eventually be implemented in an update down the road.

Basically, yes. The goals are

Basically, yes. The goals are still goals, they just get pushed back somewhat due to not having the resources to be able to guarantee them at launch. Some of them *may* (/may/, *MAY*, *****MAY*****) even manage to make it in on launch day, if fortune smiles or things turn out to be easier than expected on some front. But then again, consider how often that ever happens in reality, and temper any hopes with some realism there. Some of them may show up an issue after launch. Some may show up later. It is unlikely but not impossible that some may show up 'never', though I personally doubt that would be the case with ones that anyone appeared to actually care about (well, unless we could replace them with something that covered the same stuff, but better).

What I believe will happen -

What I believe will happen - though I have no sources of information to back this up - is that the goals will still be able to be added with additional funding, but it may not be on the same scale. What I mean here is that the goals are a matter of *time* and *money*. Since they have enough for the $650,000 and below stretch goals at the end of the funding period, these will be delivered as they have enough money in the projected amount of time. However, if one week before the game is scheduled to launch, they all of a sudden get a $1 million donation, they will not have time to add in all of the additional stretch goals.

In other words, as we get closer to the launch, it may be possible to increase their stretch goal content by continuing to fund it, but over time it may cost more money in order to have enough resources to get it done in a shorter amount of time.

If I'm off key here somewhere, be sure to let me know! I guess the takeaway here is that the best chance of reaching the most stretch goals is to get what funding we can get to them sooner rather than later (Though this idea may be painfully obvious).

Shut up and take my money!

Okay, in all seriousness, Quality of Content is not something I'm actually worried about. I'm very non-debbiedowner about the effort these people are going to be putting in.

I expect high quality of game play, of story content and of visual immersion. I expect this not because I'm a greedy bastard (which I am) nor because of the long list of reached stretch goals (which I'm proud we're all a part of) -- I expect this because of all the communication and information we've ALREADY received from the people at MWM!

And also because of this:

Mind Control Beard — √
Firey Farie Wings — √
Ninja Sword — √
Magic Wand Paint Brush — √
Swiss Army Backpack — √
Pet Dragon riding on shoulder — √
Rabbit-sized Hammer and Sapient Pearwood Toolbox (with 100 legs!!!) — √
5000 BACKERS (Whatever this is) — √!

And those are not "selling

And those are not "selling features" in my eyes.

Seriously, if you put those down as a list of features that is available for a game, it *seriously* changes the tone of the game... in my mind, those make it sound like a Discworld game (which is fantasy and not really superhero)

*shrugs* Sapient Pearwood is a *definite* Pratchett link, and makes me think that he has put his endorsement to the game.

@Gangrel

Not sure you were paying attention to all the updates.

The list is the costume perks that were awarded because we reached individual devs' private goals ... and the descriptions I listed them with are part of a joke based on stuff that happened on the KS comment thread.

The paragraph ABOVE the list is what excites me. What I've read and heard from the people DRIVING this project is what excites me. The community I'm interacting with TWO YEARS before the game is likely to be released to the public is what excites me.

Do I think everything is going to go perfectly? I hope so, but I doubt it. Do I think this energy everyone has from the KS's success will last? probably not. Do I think there's a chance that everything will break down and we'll all be left out in the cold again? Anything's possible, and two years is a long time.

But we have things to look forward to over the next two years. We have character creators coming that will work on phones and pads (and hopefully pods) before the game even goes Alpha. We'll get occasional updates, probably not weekly, but most likely a few times a month. I'm sure some of those will include improving video of the growing world. Some of us will see the Alpha stages. Most, if not all, of us will be there for the beta testing (and if I remember correctly, our betas won't just get wiped out of hand, or at least there will be a point where they stop wiping the beta characters).

And then we'll all be there to break the servers the first day the game finally goes live! (Well, maybe not break, but hami-like lag? ^_^)

Am I optimistic? H-ll yea! Am I TOO optimistic? Who cares! When the clock finally strikes midnight, this carriage is turning into the castle!

I was sad that I missed the kickstarter and frustrated that I couldn't find a way to contribute--and I was a little worried about MWM missing funding opportunities--but I've come around in my thinking. By working under a moderate budget, the game will be built to be sustainable on moderate success.

This is HUGE.

I'm still chomping for my chance to contribute--Lifetime sub or whatever--but I'm excited that the awesomeness and survival of City of Titans won't be predicated upon wild commercial success, and that commercial success will just enhance what we get and help us get it more quickly. That's a pretty awesome forecast.

FIGHT EVIL! (or go cause trouble so the Heroes have something to do.)
