Hi guys,
sorry if this has been answered elsewhere or if i'm just being obtuse but I was looking at this chart: http://cityoftitans.com/forum/updated-classification-and-specification-chart and realised I didn't understand what was meant by an Assault power set.
Ranged, Melee, Support, Control, Defence and Pets all make sense to me but I can't work out how assault would differ from Melee and/or Ranged.
Additionally, if someone could clarify the difference between Manipulation and Control I'd appreciate that as well.
I believe Assault means they get a mix of both melee and ranged attacks, maybe with a buff/debuff or two? I could be wrong on that however.
Using City of Hero terms here.
Assault is a mixed of Range and Melee. So you could have say Fire assault you could have 5 Range attacks and 4 close/melee attacks.
Control has more focus on Sleep, hold, fear and confusion. Controlling your Foes in some way.
Manipulation has more Buffs and Debuffs. Weakening and boosting powers of friends or Foes.
At least that what I take from the information released.

In that thread Zombie Man likened assault to the Dominator secondary power sets.
So, as RottenLuck wrote, a mix of ranged and close/melee attacks.

Think I might be wrong with the Manipulation. Got confused with Support.. lets see...
From the City of Heroes Paragon Wiki Manipulation is designed for support via melee attacks, minor crowd control powers, or temporary self-buffs.
