Last night, around 18:45 Central time, I fired up my computer, and looked at the Kickstarter total. It was in the $364,000 range. Fifteen minutes later (19:00 Central), I reloaded the webpage, and the total adjusted itself to $352,000. Was that someone correcting a pledge, or did something else happen?

Yup. Yesterday we lost a major backer as a 7,500 tier seemed to downgrade to 1,500. These things occasionally happen.
This Morning we gained another 7,500 so it evened out ;)

If this KS runs like others I've backed, they'll be several people backing out higher-level rewards. Some, because they rechecked their bank balances and got cold feet, some because their spouse found out, and probably some just to mess with people. Don't agonize for the exact total (especially if funding stalls, as happens to most KS). As long as we fund, we're successful at this point. Then MWM gets the hard job... :)
Wow. I wish I could afford to back at $7,500. Who are these people with that kind of money, AND enough time to play the game? Mafia kingpins? Cancer-ridden high school drug dealers? Politicians?
Also possibly people who pledged large amounts because they wanted this to succeed, but once there was a little padding in the total, reduced their pledge to a lower amount
