Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

To purchase your copy of the City of Titans Launcher, visit our store at https://store.missingworldsmedia.com/ A purchase of $50 or more will give you a link to download the Launcher for Windows or Mac based machines.

I recognize that both of these look a little more 'pre-teen' than strictly adolescent, but it was about as young as I could get them.

Be Well!

Hopefully much better than swtor that has a adolescent girl NPC quest giver that is disturbingly developed for her young age (appears 9-11) they dont tend to have many underaged npcs in the game, probably because of this.

I was also involved in the Costume Creation thread on the forums, which meant I spent a significant number of hours working on costumes for others, or duplicating particularly exciting creations of other posters. In many ways, it became a game of 'how well do you know the costume creator?' and exploring what was available.

That's cool. I did a little bit of that (the helping with others with their costumes part) but it was mostly just with people I knew in-game. I didn't really do anything "formally" with costume forum threads in CoH.

It took several years before they added the capability to save/load costumes in the CoH costume creator. If that feature exists in CoT from Day One (and it really should be a Day One priority for this game) then maybe there'll be an even larger community of people willing to trade/share their costume ideas with others.

Yes one of the bigger "challenges" of the CoH character creator was figuring out a convincing way to create either adolescent girls and/or waifish adult women. The fundamental problem was the way CoH (and probably other games like ivanhedgehog mentioned) implemented its female body model and the basic inability to create a truly "flat-chested" character.

For anyone who might remember CoH only provided in total 5 or 6 body model adjustment sliders. No matter what you could do the smallest-sized females you could have still effectively looked like they would require a C or D cup bra to contain themselves. About the only way to deal with that was to do things like Fireheart's examples above. You had to figure out ways to conceal or otherwise draw attention away from the "chestal" region.

The good news for CoT is that by everything I've seen (and have been specifically told by various Devs over the years when I've asked) is that being able to make genuinely flatter chested females will be possible. The various sliders might still not allow us to go totally flat, but they will hopefully allow for something far more convincing than CoH allowed for.

I'm looking forward to this for many of my CoT characters. I might make a few pre-adolescent girls but I'm mostly interested in making adult females that can look thin and waifish... or at least like they might -not- be sporting the latest in silicone implant technology. ;)

Don't get me wrong - I'm ALSO looking forward to creating a few big-chested Power Girl clones as well. The key point is that the full range of possible breast sizes in CoT will hopefully span a much larger spectrum of sizes. I'd rather it go from "flat" to "huge" instead of just "huge" to "extra huge" like CoH was limited to.

It's been verified that they plan to allow us to save both "costume files" and "body slider files" separately. By having costumes separated from body sliders you should be able to have a character already pre-established and then swap out different costumes on that character without having to redo all your body sliders.

All this means that having some kind of "costume share forum" seems like it would be an obvious thing to happen for this game as a place to be able to post/share these files and ideas.

We are hoping that, one day, when we have a dedicated web person, we can even do online costume contests, where you select a character and boom, it gets loaded to the web page. Sort of like FFXIV's thing but with a little more game involved.
But given that's REALLY nonessential for the game to work, we've just made sure none of our choices stop it from happening.

Having something like a gallery would be interesting. Something equal what the Sims has. You could do a lot with this and even create a bigger fandom, which would allow the game to propagate even further.

That'd be cool. Definitely another "after launch" idea but still cool.

On a related note I know many ideas that we -all- talk about here end up being tossed into the "post-launch update fodder" bin but I would just like to stress that we really will need the save/load features of the costume creator as Day One features. Given how complex we are all expecting the costume creator to be it would be terribly frustrating to lose huge amounts of time and effort working on a costume only to have something like a power failure or some such kill your session.

I'm bringing this up mainly because as many of us remember it took a number of years before CoH added a save/load capability to its costume creator. I simply do not believe we can afford to lack this capability once CoT becomes active due to the increased complexity and likely average amount of time it'll take to create a costume/character.

No, and probably never, sorry. It would require a fair bit of restructuring to support. Are you sure what you want is stacking though? We're working on multi-hue color control for auras.

Awww, pity. Stacking auras is one thing I like about CO... or rather one specific combination.
Y'see if you take the rather simple (and of course box-locked) invisibility aura and put fire/energy ones (or particle heavy travel powers) over it you can make a pretty nice ghost.

CC shenanigans are needed for the rest.
The very right picture also has some extra auras I had lying around as battle auras, in hindsight they really didn't work out as intended... and I would remove them if my subscription was still active.
However I was really looking forward to bringing Spookjob over to Titan City. So, if aura stacking is off the table, how about a ghost aura to get a similar (possibly better looking) effect?

Yeah, Nos482's example is something I'd want to try at some point. This is an example of something I would tinker with in the Character Creator and find a concept that I would want to play.

Would I necessarily have a concept for a character like this then want to create it? Maybe not. But if I stumbled upon something like this in the CC or saw someone running around out in the world that looked like this, I would be curious to figure out how to do it. Then during the creation process I would find a 'voice' for that character and be inspired to play it.

I saw some buttons on a GUI. But since your video doesn't show those buttons being used it's still worth asking if there's effectively "code" under those buttons and if those buttons will lead to the ability to save costumes separately from body sliders as being discussed.

Well if you see that what warcabbit said squares completely with what I'm asking then you're better at this than I am. :)

Remember CoH only had one type of save file that lumped everything (costume data and slider data) together. I was just seeking simple confirmation that CoT has in fact taken things a step further by creating the two types of files that the Devs themselves hinted at years ago. With only one "Save/Load" button on the GUI it is actually still unclear what degree of capability we're going to have here.

Just wanted to throw my hat

Just wanted to throw my hat in the ring and say THANK YOU for these regular posts that either showcase avatar builder stuff or provide short status updates (or both). I wasn’t really posting much when the communication blowup happened at the end of 2018 (though I was lurking), but I definitely appreciate that the communication game has stepped up a notch or three.

The pictures look great, and each update, whether short or full on update post, has me yearning more and more to get my grubby mitts on this game!

The concept I had after finding out how to do it was a spectral knight, but due to how CO is set up (costumes/power customization/auras being unrelated systems) weapons can't profit from aura effects.
A shield would turn ghostly since it's part of the costume. Actual weapons however stay 'solid'. (Wings too btw.)
Thus he ended up as a ranged dps, dead hero who didn't think he'd done all he could.

I'm curious how CoT will handle this, will we (eventually) have the option to apply auras to props? <-- not a rethorical question, an answer would be appreciated.

And that's all I wanted to know. If it works that way I'm sure it'll be fine. Again I wouldn't have nit-picked other than we know CoH worked one way and CoT is supposed to work another. Just was asking if that was still case which was NOT obvious from the video.

No, the load/save features

No, the load/save features are still a WIP so we didn't demo them (yet). I'll look into this when I can and find out the exact status and what needs to be done yet. No promises on any immediate reply of course but I'll do what I can.

Instead of an immediate reply you could showcase the functionality with video in a more... Official update. You could add it to the next bigger/Kickstarter update and show how it works.

When, it's finished/working of course. Although even just a screenshot would be okay of course.

Edit: this feels like a scrum meeting... Or sprint review. (I hope you don't have any chickens in your team, lol)

Thank you. Again I believe the save/load features of this game's costume creator will be important for everybody to have ASAP due to the amazing level of detail and likely how long the average time to create costumes will take. I have confidence you'll get something working and obviously it can be tested/refined throughout the beta process.

I have a ghost character in

I have a ghost character in CO. Out of combat he uses the Stealth aura which makes him an almost completely invisible, very dim outline. Once in combat he turns into a black silhouette with a weird purple nimbus (I can’t remember what the aura was called). The weapons (two swords) aren’t part of the aura so the character’s story is that it’s actually a pair of ancient swords that are possessed by a spirit of vengeance, and they’re pretty much wielding themselves. I think it looks cool. (The character’s name is Sword Spectre.)
