It doesn't matter if your deal is making your allies nigh-invincible, or bringing them back from the brink of death. It doesn't matter if your thing is leeching the power of your enemies, leaving them weak as blind newborn kittens. We stand united on one common ground. We are just plain unfair. And why start a fair fight if you have the option not to? This isn't an honor duel, it's a war.
No, we're here to ensure your team never starts a fair fight. First you win, then you fight. In that order. If the enemy has a genuine chance of winning, you are doing it wrong. That's a fair fight. We don't do that around here. We're here to win! And we're very good at winning.
Fair fights are for other people. Fight dirty. Fight with a plan. Be prepared for anything. Be a Guardian.
(Yes, this is pretty much a hype thread. But come on, we haven't had any posts here in over one and a half years. Time to hype it up a little, no? Also, how powerful do we hope the buffs/debuffs will be? CoH level or something slightly saner? Hopefully not too far from CoH level. Those were gloriously unfair.)

You should start with "We're the villains" and villains don't guard anything but themselves, if you think this text would ever adapt to anything else you're thinking it wrong :p .
For my Dark/Dark, it was more like, "Give me a minute and I'll tip the balance in our favor." Because, if you just rush in... well, then it's on your head. I'm not a healer.

I wanted to be more all-inclusive. If you want to be a villain who fights dirty, and let's be honest, villains are often better at that than heroes, then a Guardian is a totally fine pick.
I did scrap "Nothing is scarier than a Guardian with a plan." from it, though. We're not Batman. Although on second thought... A fear themed debuff primary and a mixed melee/ranged (for punches and batarangs) secondary... That's a Vindicator. Hm, we could actually be Batman.

I mean, dont even need a fear themed primary. Lets just go with the Strategy set as give....then yes the assault secondary (or maybe even manipulation depending on the theme and delivery...and you could add a melee distance/knock back for saftey and flavor).
Y'all will be fools if you do not expect the enemy AI to have Guardians as well. Debuffs and Bubblers for both sides.

To engage the ops questions.:
I think guardians will be slightly less unfair that defenders, simply because of buff stacking.
However I'm excited to see what those masteries do.
To be fair, Defenders were incredibly unfair once you got things stacking. I still want Guardians to be unfair, of course, but I'd be fine with them not being quite as unfair as Defenders could be.
Even my old Forcefielder could pretty much grant Super Reflexes to the entire team. Which was kind of crazy. Two characters should be able to do that if they work together, but a single one is perhaps slightly too powerful.
I will revive her for CoT, of course. I just hope we get some powerful defensive buffs for allies. that was her thing, need to be good at that again.
