New to the whole KS thing, made an account no problem. For whatever reason, Amazon.com is NOT RECOGNIZING my desire to switch my password, despite telling me it succeeded! I can't donate! Any ideas?
Note: I live in Japan, but am Canadian, so it's NOT language.

So can or can't you now log into Amazon? Sounds like you need to talk to them to make sure everything's good on their end.
TBH, I think Kickstarter forcing us to have to pay through Amazon is a bit limiting. This seems like a perfect place to allow PayPal payments but I'm sure it has something to do with Amazon not wanting PayPal to be involved.

Amazon is the issue, actually - Kickstarter is fine - and to call Amazon is a bit of a pain for me living in Japan, since only Amazon.com is accepting payments (never mind the astronomical cost of calling them from my cellphone). Looks like I will have to be patient. ;(

Well good luck regardless. I live in the US but travel to Japan often and have run into problems like yours trying to deal with US-based websites like Amazon that sometimes "expects/assumes" people to be physically in the US to work correctly. Happens alot for me with various email servers. I think they assume people trying to get into them from overseas are being naughty even though they are my own accounts that I created and use primarily in the US.

Will Kickstarter ONLY accept Amazon accounts? Meaning I have to make an Amazon account really quickly?

Yeah as far as I understand it. I was a noob for Kickstarting in general but I already had an Amazon acount (from years ago) and it was a fairly easy process to pledge. Still if I had the option I would've used PayPal for this.

This is just a guess, but it might be that you are trying to make a purchase from one country that is limited to another. My wife and I live in the USA, but she is Japanese and wanted to purchase things on the Amazon.co.jp store, particularly kindle books. So the same situation may be applying to you.
Here is a website I found that suggested how to work around it, and it might work for you too. You need an address you can use in the USA, Canada might work also.

To Lothic, yes Paypal would be convenient but they have the nasty habit of assuming projects will fold after succeeding in getting funded on KS and people will chargeback against them, so they refuse to hand the money over for months which has crippled some previous KSs.

Thanks for the historical info. I figured there had to be a significant (and likely negative) reason why PayPal is not an option for Kickstarters.

Logically, that would work - but since I have tried creating an account with them (using my Canadian billing address as the go-around) and then have them [b] not recognize the password[i] I just put in[/i][/b], I am going to have to give up on this. I am not making an international cellphone call just to tell Amazon to fix this issue, sensible as it may sound. My humblest of apologies, Kickstarters, but this villain will have to do it the old way - wait for preorders of the game!
(I originally joined CoX when Villains came out, got the Limited Edition set, then decided that being a hero might be fun as well).

Plant: Bear in mind lots of the same stuff will be available after the KS in some form or other.
Otherwise do you have a friend or relative that could do the KS for you who you could reimburse ? I considered this to get dynamic duo twice, 2 accs for me and one for each of my nephews.

Minotaur - as you put it, if there's more of the stuff I want available after the launch of the game, I will wait for it. Although I AM happy to see the stretch goals being hit - certain character designs will be easier. Just wish my old hard drive with all the screen caps of the old toons hadn't crashed - would be a lot easier to rebuild them all.

I got hit with a stroke of villainous genius, and tried my second email account. THAT didn't work - I had used it before, and it was not recognizing it [i]either[/i]. So, like a true dom, I managed to create a new account with my 3rd (currently unused) email account to convince the minions of A-Ma-Zon that I, Plantatia, should be worthy of participating! And, lo and behold, [i]it worked[/i].

Villains, villains, [i]please[/i] - regardless of where you are from - or in - we are all from the the Justice 'verse. (Although, for use, shouldn't that be the [i]In[/i]justice 'verse?)
I went with what was reasonable - Fly Free with Music to Harm Citizens By - although if I had had the money (and known about it in time), I would have gone for Key to Titan City. Something about being [i]that[/i] important to the game from the start would be incredible to show my students..
After all, they are the future criminals of City of Titans!
