Had an idea about logos that may give us easy access to a vast array of icons for little extra development cost and no issues with copyright or taste.
Fonts.
If the devs can implement it that a logo can consist of a single character and enable the usual public domain/everyone gets them with their OS fonts (Arial, Times Roman, Wingdings, Symbol etc), there's big bunch of varied options that they don't have to lift a finger to design. If the usual font options (italic, bold, underline, strikethrough, etc) are included, that expands the range even more.
Going further, the devs could use this to include their own symbol fonts by theme to help organise the choices and make use of existing public domain resources for font design.
And if a player wanted to have a client side symbol, have them select a font they own but have some equivalent default font character (or blank) display to everyone else without that font.
If Unicode is used, this would be an easy way to add Asian and other non-Latin characters.
Anyway, just a thought I had.
Cower, evildoers, before the might of... DINGBATMAN!

"What did he just say?"
"I dunno, I can't read his word balloons."
"Is he talking in Moonspeak or something?"
"Nope."
"Stupid l33t speakers."
Verbogeny is one of many pleasurettes afforded a creatific thinkerizer.
Well, just in Wingdings alone, you do have:
Hourglass, Smiley Face, Frowny Face, Meh Face, Lit Bomb, Skull & Crossbones, Sun, Drop, Snowflakes, Crosses, Star of David, Star in Crescent, Yin/Yang, Zodiacs, Heraldic Roses, Numbers in Circles. Clockfaces, Arrows, Target. Stars and Diamonds.
Any of those could work as a logo. Several of them WERE classic CoX logos.
