Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

To purchase your copy of the City of Titans Launcher, visit our store at https://store.missingworldsmedia.com/ A purchase of $50 or more will give you a link to download the Launcher for Windows or Mac based machines.

Unreal Engine 4 Looks Amazing

Greetings!

I gotta say after watching a couple of videos on Youtube from games or projects that are made from UE4 look amazing. So I can only wonder how this game will turn out. I just wonder how much am I going to spend to upgrade or buy a new computer so I can play this game :P

Ironically enough I've read

Ironically enough I've read that UE4 is supposed to have certain new adaptive features that allow it to run games on older, less capable hardware better than previous versions. That means that we should all get pretty good gameplay from CoT even from less than bleeding edge machines. :)

What Lothic says is true (as

What Lothic says is true (as usual) AND the devs are well aware that most of us don't have high-end machines and they are at least to some extent building the game with that in mind.

Between the two, we should end up pretty close to the best of both worlds. Pretty AND playable.

Squeeee... (so excited)

FIGHT EVIL! (or go cause trouble so the Heroes have something to do.)

All responders here are

All responders here are correct. Unreal 4 is actually very friendly to older machines, and that is part of what we wanted from it: we've always intended to build a game that does not need the latest and greatest. This has actually been asked often enough I've added it to our FAQ page. Here's a copy paste of that entry.

8. Will I need an expensive/high end computer to run City of Titans?
Nope. Our goal is to be lower end computer friendly. While it's far too soon for us to be able to provide exact specs, I can tell you the specs of the two machines our tech lead and current president, Nathaniel Downes, uses when developing the game. One is a Mac Mini Core 2 Duo with 4 gigs of ram – that's for Mac testing. The other is an HP Dv7 laptop with an AMD A6 quad core processor with 4 gig of ram. Both are running on integrated graphics cards. The HP was chosen by Nate walking into a Best Buy well before the Kickstarter and asking for their best selling 500 dollar laptop, following the logic that what was the best selling mid-range laptop then, would be a reasonable lower end build when the game was released several years later.

No wait, thats an A10. Probably 45-50 fps. Maybe Medium graphic settings.
I dont mind an A8 being the Minimum and be around 30-35 fps. Medium graphics settings.
I'd be happy if A6 can do 20-25 fps. Medium to low graphic settings. ;)

i'm thinking that most casual users will start buying or have been buying, computers that fit next to the monitor. Just because it looks better and its compact.

I would be interested in learning if the 750 (maybe Ti) is in 30% of the casual desktops today.
In a few years though, 960 (mobile?) might be the norm. :/

It's good to know that my shoddy laptop can run it, but I'll still make sure my desktop is in fine condition by the time the game comes out, largely to be on the safe side. Also so I can sit in a comfortable seat and position while I kick some butt with my new character(s).

At this point, what with Windows 10 and nVidia struggling a bit with DX12, I recommend waiting another two or three months before looking into any serious upgrades. Basically, put it on your holiday wish list.

There used to be a sort of half-joking rule of thumb that you'd always give Microsoft roughly six months before you jumped into a new OS, or at least until the first major Service Pack fixed most of the bugs.

It seems like things have gotten better since then but it is true that we still have plenty of time if you're considering saving up for a brand new super machine for playing CoT on. Of course Fallout 4 is just a couple months away...
