Alright I was thinking that when a Game Master has to make appearance (or for fun appear) they should have a look that stands out. A Uniform Avatar that you can see and know that's a Game Master. Some customization like face and hair, sex. Just they all share the same Uniform outfit (like a Game Master Supergroup).
I remember a few Game Masters I saw in CoX used the Police Drone Model. Part of me wants our GMs to have an Awakened PeaceBringer look to them. (Glowing bodies and eyes are standard Comic book cosmic entity flair) With enough changes to not infringe on IP.
This Avatar would be used when they are "ON Duty" so a player could spot them if the GM isn't in Invisible mode.
Hech could even have them tied to Lore as a group of Cosmic Beings who patch holes in the multiverse and serve as a Transdimensional Police force. "To Serve and Protect the Cosmic Balance."
So what do you all think? Should our Game Masters have a Uniform look to their GM Avatars?

I could probably go either way on this.
On one hand I agree it might make things easier for players if the GMs always had a uniform appearance in the game and it might even be fun to have them carry on the pretense of them being members of their own sort of unique "cosmic supergroup" within the game.
On the other hand I kind of like the idea of them being the literal "gods of the game universe". As such they should be able to individually appear to us "player mortals" any way they want like the Olympian gods of old used to do including body shapes/forms that would be impossible for player characters to duplicate in any conceivable way. For what it's worth I played CoH fairly regularly for 8.5 years and I probably only saw physical manifestations of GMs in the game like maybe a dozen times at most - it ultimately didn't seem like it was overwhelmingly important what they looked like. *shrugs*

I think they should be human-sized Phoenix Statues.
In my last interaction with a GM (in AoC), they were invisible ghostly presences that could fly through the geometry, taking screenshots. I had found a hole in the world, fell through it and reported it, so the GM asked if I could do it again. So I did, three times. Bit of a bother for me, but it was actually fun to assist in the experiment and the GM was very appreciative - rezzed me every time I died.
So, perhaps the GMs are the 'invisible angels' from the "Unexplained" thread.
When they are forced to 'manifest', some generic, improbable avatar might be useful. They could be Daleks.

Well the Uniform would be just something they could use and not the only avatar or Invisible ghost mode. Not that they be forced to use that avatar all the time every time. Just something they can use when they really want or need to be Noticed and stand out.

They could all be 'Anthem's Little Helpers'?
Given the creative freedom we anticipate in the Character Creator, I'm afraid it would take something pretty outre to noticeably stand out, against the population of supers.

I have a habit of becoming jealous of dev-created sprites with greater complexity than our own. Might I suggest GMs be non-humanoid, e.g. floating masks or symbols.
That being said, I'd love some diversity in body type ;)

This is probably the result of my sleep deprived mind but reading this thread the first thing that came to me was that GMs all would look like elderly grey haired gentlemen with large, squarish glasses and a mustache. He keeps popping up in nearly all my super-themed movies for over a decade now so why not here? Only you know, obviously not in a direct likeness way to avoid copy-write issues, maybe he has a cape, yeah a cape...

A police Drone, Face mask figure with no head just a body and a mask would work for the GM Avatar! Just think something different is all.

I kind of like the GM's avatar being something definitely not player-character, like the police drone that was used in CoH. whether it would be a stock asset or something specific to GMs I don't really care about.
