Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

To purchase your copy of the City of Titans Launcher, visit our store at https://store.missingworldsmedia.com/ A purchase of $50 or more will give you a link to download the Launcher for Windows or Mac based machines.

TouchScreens: Swipe Gesture tutorials?

The closer and closer the arrival of the Character Creator, the more and more I wonder about the interface.
How likely is a tutorial of sorts to be built in showing a hand moving on screen with the hand gestures?

Is this something thats important to all, or will there be enough YouTube videos that will suffice?

Thoughts?

Im kinda curious as well, how well the iPhone ( or any phone for that matter ), can show the Character Creator? Will it work for the most part in Landscape mode, so the menus are to one side? Just like they might appear in a larger iPad like device? Just wondering. :)

I would guess we are going to spend a lot of time zooming in and out on the smartphone versions of the CC. I also expect the menus will have to be handled differently from the desktop versions to optimize the experience on smaller screens.

Never the less, I can't wait to get the CC app on my phone.

People in love enough to do

People in love enough to do character creation on the phone probably want a top notch experience and not just a port of the integrated desktop game one. As mentioned, a much greater zoom cognizant of screen size is probably desirable. Meaning I can zoom in to face and see it almost fill the screen, even more depending on how much detail you allow in say, makeup and masks and tattoos and the like.

I'm not even sure I would have "zoom spots" like many character creators do -- a full body, a head-only, maybe a legs-only, depending on which parts you were selecting. People on phones (and PCs, for that matter) are old hats at zooming in and out with the mouse wheel or their finger pinches, so just allow near-infinite zoom rather than 2 or 3 fixed levels. Who is the programmer to say you've zoomed in (or out) too far?

If it's gesture-heavy on phones, you may have trouble relying on YouTube videos for instruction due to data caps and transfer speeds. Is the program that generates hand gesture examples small and efficient that you could include in the program itself? Or is it something else, perhaps manual and you just cobble together the videos, which is all there is?

ETA it shouldn't be that hard to write a program to move a fake hand over the screen in a gesture demonstration, so this code should be fairly tiny, and thus includible in the program itself. YouTube would be icing on the cake here.

I would assume that the mobile version of the CC would be Offline capable and allow you to upload the saved file later.

I've been thinking about the

I've been thinking about the idea of gesture tutorials for a bit, and the more I think about it, the less I think it will be needed. I don't think people with no touch screen experience are going to run out and buy a smartphone or tablet just so they can use the CC. It is an app that is going to be used by people who already own the device in the first place. At this point, users already know how to tap, slide, drag, and zoom in/out on our touchscreens. Drop one into an unknown app and they will do these thing intuitively. If there is some kind of one-off gesture needed beyond those, I think a small little note on the screen on first use is enough of a tutorial.
