Top 10 non-Fox characters I want to see in the MCU after Avengers 4

We all know about what character Marvel can use now that they're getting Fox, but what about characters that aren't tied to Fox, and could be used even if it wasn't happening? I decided to challenge myself and give you a list of the Top 10 non-Fox characters I want to see in the MCU movies after Avengers 4.

----

#10. Spider-Man (Miles Morales)

Miles Morales is the name of an Afro-Latino teenager who took the name of Spider-Man after Peter Parker died in the Ultimate Marvel universe. He's since been transplanted into the main universe, and has become a core figure in the Marvel and Spider-Man mythos. With him getting his own animated movie, and Miles' existence confirmed in Homecoming, it only seems right he should feature at some point in live-action alongside Peter.

#9. Songbird

Melissa Gold, once known as Screaming Mimi but now better known as Songbird, is a criminal-turned-anti-hero with "acoustikinesis" (the ability to use sonic energy) and the most iconic member of the Thunderbolts. While popular with fans, she hasn't gotten the exposure she deserves outside the comics due to being absent in adaptations. Maybe this could change, perhaps with a Thunderbolts movie?

#8. Wonder Man

Let's get past how cheesy and dangerously close to Wonder Woman his name is. Simon Williams is a major Avenger in the comics, and there he was actually the one who created Vision (of course it just has to be Tony in the MCU...). He's a powerhouse, using ionic energy to give him strength on par with the best of them, and would be great as a major heavy-hitter for the team.

#7. She-Hulk

Jennifer Walters is the cousin of Bruce Banner, and as She-Hulk she's the sexy, confident and intelligible version of the green guy. Granted, her origin may need a little work (it was due to a blood transfusion, and it leaves plot holes) but still she could add a lot to the MCU. I don't see her as a movie headliner, but someone who could help out others nonetheless.

#6. Ant-Man (Eric O'Grady)

Known as the Irredeemable Ant-Man, Eric O'Grady is a jerk and the most despicable one to hold the title. Whereas Pym is a jerk but has a strong sense of moral justice, and Lang is a nice guy who just happens to be crooks, O'Grady only wants to use the suit for his own benefit in ways like stealing his best friend's girlfriend, spying on naked women, racing ants for fun, and generally making a profit. Sounds like it could a lot of fun to watch though! I'd put him in the Thunderbolts movie, him having been a member, as it'd make sense.

#5. Hawkeye (Kate Bishop)

She has no actual powers and may not have enough training, but Katherine "Kate" Bishop is still a superhero nonetheless. While I could list all the Young Avengers as a group entry, I chose to narrow it down to the most iconic and enduring member of the team. Having taken up the identity of Hawkeye after the death of Clint Barton, Kate proves herself as a capable hero in the Marvel Universe worthy of the title. Because we have Clint abandoning Hawkeye for Ronin in Avengers 4, and I don't know if he'll survive, this could be the chance to introduce a new Hawkeye in his place.

#4. Taskmaster

Mercenary, assassin, tactician, agent, and a man with literal photographic reflexes, Anthony "Tony" Masters aka Taskmaster would be perfect as a character to introduce as a villain but then have him survive and come back as an anti-heroic figure much like how he's portrayed in the comics. He can outfight many heroes, and outthink many others, and would be a great addition to have in the franchise.

#3. Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan)

Kamala Khan, aka the current Ms. Marvel, is a teenage Muslim and a massive fan of superheroes and video games, and loves to write fanfiction. So of course, when she gains her powers, she becomes one herself in the vein of her idol Carol Danvers. Feige said they have plans to bring her to the MCU, and having her in the movies would give us more young heroes, more personality, and answer all the complaints about "diversity" and whatnot. One change I'd suggest: remove the "Inhuman" part of her backstory, it's tainted and it's best to just lose it. Make it a generic mutagen, or have her be a mutant or something.

#2. Moon Knight

What can we say about Marvel's take on Batman? Moon Knight has been a long time coming in the MCU, and it would be great to introduce him soon. He's dark, morally complex, and insane with multiple personality disorder. It's been suggested by fans that he should be in a Netflix series, but recent word is that he'd appear in the movies. I just hope they could make it appropriately dark to accommodate him, and not be filled too much with the signature MCU humor which would contrast him too greatly.

#1. Nova

Richard Rider, Nova, The Human Rocket. Apart from the Fox properties, this is the big one for a lot of people. Nova starring in a movie of his own would give a whole new perspective of the cosmos from the Guardians of the Galaxy, a police perspective, and add something new to the growing cosmic side of the universe. Not only would Richard bring so much to the table, but he'd also add the Nova Force, the Worldmind, so many aspects that were sidelined by the Guardians, and could lead straight into an adaptation of Annihilation. Feige said Nova has immediate potential to join the MCU, and I can see it. But one thing though, it MUST be Richard Rider. If it starts with Sam, and they just give all of Richard's stuff to him, it will be an even bigger insult to the lore than Mandarin. Still, it'll most likely be Richard and if done right could be even better than GotG.

----

I probably left a lot off, and I avoided group entries in favor of focusing on a single individual. But these are the Top 10 for me, and I hope we see them sooner rather than later. I hope you like it!

Great list. I think we need one for villains too. The only problem I have with the MCU is that the villains always feel overwhelmed (even Thanos, as powerful as he is, is outnumbered by a significant amount).

The Altruist, Invulnerability/Super Strength Stalwart.

The only two from that list I really agree with are Taskmaster and Moon Knight. They’re great characters.

I'm glad to see that

I'm glad to see that Taskmaster made it onto this list. He's always been one of my favorite villains and he would've worked great in a Captain America movie, the second one to be exact. As for Miles Morales, while I do like the character, I feel he worked better in the Ultimate Universe (especially since they brought it back). His story had a lot more depth on Earth-1610 given that by the time he had became Spider-Man a lot of heroes were either dead or M.I.A due to the Ultimatum story arc. And of course he had to prove his worth as the 'new' Spider-Man since he had took up the mantle so soon after Ultimate Peter's death.

100% down with Songbird. I'd love to see the Thunderbird's in the MCU. Moon Knight I would like to see get the Marvel Netflix treatment. She-Hulk and Nova need to be in the MCU.

I wouldn't mind seeing Nova

I wouldn't mind seeing Nova for Annihilation Wave because then they could do an entire episode dedicated to K'lrt the Super Skrull, the real hero of the series. He was, by far, the best part of the entire sage for me.

Have to disagree with Miles

Have to disagree with Miles unless they make it some alternate reality coming over to the MCU universe and people calling him fake Spider-Man, because I just don't care for Miles :p Also, isn't he Sony property when it comes to movies?

In no order...

5) Moon Knight. I don't know him that well really, but he seems interesting.

4) She-Hulk. Could be interesting, never really got into her comics either.

3) Spider-Gwen/Ghost Spider. I'd like to see her as originally advertised (or at least as I remember her being advertised) as coming from the same world, except she got bitten instead of Peter. That's what I wanted to see! Not a new universe with established characters changed all over the place.

2) Daredevil. Brought over to the movies!

1) Spider-Woman! The most important one to get their own movie!

I don’t think an animated movie counts by anyone, and Homecoming confirmed he exists in the MCU. We all know how they love turning insignificant details into being massively important later on.

How is Aaron Davis/Prowler, a core Miles Morales supporting character, explicitly mentioning his nephew an “Easter egg”?

He's never called Prowler.

He's never called Prowler.

Also, if they do put Miles in and make him a super hero in the story, will he just be a dumb kid who can't make up his own hero name or they just plan to kill off Peter without letting him get older?

Until he comes out as being Prowler and Miles comes out as being a meta, it's nothing more than an Easter Egg, since we don't know which characters Marvel really has the rights to use (obviously not some of the bigger names in Spider-Man comics, like Venom and Black Cat).

They can both exist.

Heck Peter being away from New York in his next movie makes for a really easy in for Miles. "You weren't around and we needed Spiderman."

Then they're both Spiderman.

To be fair it can be

To be fair it can be considered a mix of the two. An easter egg and potential set-up for the future. The nephew name drop in Homecoming was meant to establish that Miles Morales exists in the MCU, making it possible for a new Spider-Man to take up the mantle if something is to either happen to Peter or he chooses to no longer be Spider-Man.

Quite frankly, I never understood why Miles never took the name 'Arachnid' or something instead of continuing to be called Spider-Man even after he was moved over to Earth-616 in the comics. While Miles' age isn't actually given in Homecoming, no one can really say that he can become Spider-Man...when there is already one that exists. Gotta also remember that the plan with Spider-Man is that like the Harry Potter movies, Kevin Fiege wants the audience to see Peter mature and get older as the movies progress.

Lastly, Peter is still semi-new to the whole superhero thing still, I doubt they would shelve Peter so quickly after finally getting him in the MCU and see him fight alongside the Avengers.

Edit: Spider-Man: Far from Home is also supposedly set during the summer before Peter's sophomore/junior year of high school thus making it a vacation more than anything else. So he would return to New York eventually, only to find that he's been replaced by a new spider-person.

Because he was Spiderman after Peter Parker died and then after being brought to the main universe he had been Spiderman for years?

There's two Hawkeye's running around in marvel too.

DC has two Dr. Lights.

It's not like Pete can take Miles to court over the usage of the name.

And the idea of a movie wherein Peter Parker, a still relatively new superhero, has to be a mentor for an even newer superhero would be pretty entertaining.

That reminds me, since I put Kate Bishop on the list (and I want to break the Miles chat and focus on others).

How much are you willing to bet Clint dies in Avengers 4? He just seems like one of the biggest casualties to use, he has a precedent for dying in the comics (during the Avengers Disassembled event), he's not going to headline anything (Feige confirmed as much), and he's abandoned the identity for Ronin evidently. Remember, Kate only became Hawkeye after Clint died. I wouldn't be surprised if they kill off Clint and then introduce Kate to replace him, and Feige also said they put Cassie Lang in the Ant-Man movies to plant seeds for the future and has said a Young Avengers movie would be cool, and Cassie has a new teenage actress in A4. There have been hints that Young Avengers is being set up, so it'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

As cool as it sounds to have Clint and Kate interact in the movies, I'm getting a suspicion that it may be a permanent replacement thing in this case...

Wonder how it would affect how Hawkeye is promoted in other media going forward though. It's an interesting thought.

Maybe I should've phrased my post better. I know WHY Miles is continued to be called Spider-Man (even though he's going under a name change apparently). Hell, in the first Spider-Men story arc Peter granted Miles his blessing to continue being Spider-Man and use the name. I'm also aware of the two Hawkeyes (Although Clint at the time had moved on to the Ronin identity by the time Kate took his name). I meant it more in a reader context of where when you refer to Spider-Man, you have to ask which one: Peter or Miles.

I doubt we'll see alternative

I doubt we'll see alternative versions of anyone already in, until/unless the current actor retires the role. It'd be too confusing for the non-comic book fans- it was specifically said that Drax was gray instead of green in the movies to avoid similarities with Hulk.

The others are great ideas, though. And definitely more villains.

I don’t think they’re going to avoid highly popular characters because it’d “confuse” non-fans.

Hollywood types seems to

Hollywood types seems to think that the public will be confused way too easily.

It'd be pretty straight forward with two Spidermen (Spidermans?). Is he in the red and black suit or the red and blue? They're visually distinct enough so people would be able to easily tell them apart.

Any promotional stuff (interviews, plot synopsis, etc) instead of saying "Spiderman" Would just say Peter or Miles.

Same as if they had two Hawkeye's running about. You mean girl Hawkeye or guy Hawkeye (hawkguy)? Just switch to their identities.

But yeah, they should get rid of Hawkguy in the MCU, he's kinda useless and superfluous. The team definitely needed another wisecracking white guy.

I'd like to think they wouldn't, but again, they were legitimately worried that average movie goers wouldn't be able to tell Drax and the Hulk apart.

A low bar indeed. I tend to think anyone who even remotely considers themselves a "comic book nerd" often grossly overestimates the general public's average level of knowledge about comic books. Sure I'll bet most people have heard of the big ones like Superman and Batman but after that you'd likely be amazed at how much people don't know about any of it.

I skimmed around and found several online estimates to suggest that the current percentage of people who actually read "graphic novels" in the US today is easily in the single digits. I'd even be willing to bet that by the time the first Iron Man movie hit the theaters back in 2008 that most of the people who went to see it probably thought it was about a "brand new" superhero rather than one that had been around in comic books for decades.

He was popular enough to have licensed merchandise for the past 50+ years. He has always been a relatively popular character. Not on the same level as Spider-Man, Hulk, or Captain America, but pretty popular. I grew up with Iron Man on clothes and toys in the 80s after all.

As for Clint Barton in the MCU, I could see him just retiring rather than being killed off. He already semi-retired anyway. He’d just be a family man and leave the fighting to others.

That was basically my point. Obviously now in 2018 there's probably a much larger "recognition factor" for the character than there was in 2008. But yeah back in 2008 I doubt less than half the movie audiences barely knew of Iron Man's prior existence much less ever read any of the comic books.

Obviously I'm not disputing Iron Man's multi-decade existence. I'm just pointing out that the "average person" out there really barely knows anything about comic books in general. Heck I even worked part time at a comic book store for a couple of years back in the early 90s and I don't think I've ever read an Iron Man book myself. *shrugs*

At least I think it was early 90s.

As for Clint Barton in the MCU, I could see him just retiring rather than being killed off. He already semi-retired anyway. He’d just be a family man and leave the fighting to others.

We'll see, but I honestly can see him being one of the casualties used to give the movie weight. I'm not sure how much the comics would weigh on the movies here, but as I said Kate was only able to take up Clint's mantle after he died in Dissassembled. He's evidently back in action as Ronin, and I kinda suspect that some or even all of his family may have died by the snap which was what gave him reason to leave retirement.

Clint dying may be seen as to obvious, that they don't do it.

However, we know some will be coming back.

I'd kill off War-Machine myself.

The MCU has done obvious

The MCU has done obvious things before, like we all knew AMatW was going to end with people getting dusted. I'm just saying I won't be surprised if Clint bites it.

Also, why War Machine?

Yeah I agree. Sometimes I can eventually accept when a character gets recast in a series but for some reason I can't quite seem to get past this particular case of it. Don't know why really... *shrugs*

Yeah they are fairly dissimilar acting style wise. Many times to solve that problem they'll recreate a completely "new" character for the new actor so that the "differences" are more easily explainable/acceptable but obviously in this case they didn't really have the freedom to do that.

I think they should do a full

I think they should do a full-blown reboot of The Night Shift as a movie with different characters than in the previous comic appearances that team had. They were all super-lame as written. An upgraded movie Night Shift could include:

Blade
Moon Knight
Jack Russel, Werewolf by Night
Spider Woman (any one of them)
Ghost Rider
Daimon Hellstrom
The Gargoyle
Deathlok
The Black Cat
Hellcat
Tigra
Moon Dragon
Phantasma (she was a Russian and a Dire Wraith, but reboots are reboots)

R.S.O. of Phoenix Rising

He wasn't really part of the MCU, even if they said they used some of that movie as a jumping off point for The Incredible Hulk rather than doing a whole new origin movie.

True. It’s easy to forget that the Ang Lee film came out before the MCU launched in 2008 with Iron Man, but it released 5 years earlier.

I honestly would love to see

I honestly would love to see a Miles Morales Spider-Man. I loved his comic. I loved that he was his own character with his own motives, his own approach to superheroing, his own backstory, and a nemesis in Prowler that felt both sinister and very personal. The artwork and storytelling in Ultimate Comics Spider-Man really appealed to me.

And when Miles actually gets to meet Peter Parker, I enjoy their interactions.

This is just my opinion and my personal “2 inf” of input. I like the whole list, but I would have MM higher up on it.

Name: Safehouse
Ranger: Gunner
Primary: Force Blast
Secondary: Atrophic Aura
Tertiary: Kinetic Melee
Travel Power: Parkour
Status: Traveling. Following rumors of a huge city in Massachusetts that is teeming with supers.

Nova (Richard Rider) I would

Nova (Richard Rider) I would absolutely LOOOVE to see as he has always been my favorite hero marvel put out there. As mentioned previously, Feige even mentioned that he has immediate potential within the MCU. Hell, he was even slated to be in GOTG but Gunn cut him so Starlord could be the lone human. Now with the distruction of Xandar we could see him come to the forefront as the last remaining Nova Centurion. Oh and the annihilation wave would be a good end to the next phase...except the heroes on earth actually help this time versus blowing off Rich and the others.

As far as others? Hmmm...in no particular order:
Silver Sable
Hellcat
Black Cat
The Thunderbolts. the first year when they were actually all reforming baddies (aka Suicide Squad but better given marvel seems to have the hero movie business down pat vs DC who is still kinda strugglin to figure things out). Have to include Zemo (undercover)...which could be a great tie in to Cap America given they have run into each other in the MCU. ;)
Taskmaster. could be interesting...but he was more a merc than an actual hero.
Iron Fist.
Captain Mar-Vell. Yes, I know he is in the upcoming Captain Marvel, but to what degree...plus could feature him in his younger days with the nega bands. :) won't happen though the sheep would get confuzzeled at the the theatre...Captain Marvel/Captain Mar-Vell... :p

The Micronauts! Given they have gone subatomic in the Antman series...seems a perfect time to gets these folks up and runnin! :) aaaahhh...Acroyear, Bug, Captain Rann, Marionette and Microtron.

Nova would be a very easy

Nova would be a very easy hero to bring in for stage 4 of MCU
So If I can vote for 1 I would say him.
I dont even know much about the character but I like his design and he seems to fit the location of where MCU is going so sure.

Realistically we might be losing Stark and Captain America after their contracts are up. Drax seems done with his director fired. So GotG might see a cast shake up as well.

So other heroes we are more likely to see are ones that have reasons to be in space and beyond earth.

honestly, I was done with

honestly, I was done with Stark a couple movies ago. I am sooo tired of him and how they have built up in the MCU. hell, even spiderman (probably my #2 fav hero behind Nova) has been tainted with stark having to show up in his movie... as such, let him go...please. Peter did just fine without Stark in the comics and he will survive just fine without him on the big screen.

Cap America though? I would like to see him stick around for a bit longer if possible. I have really liked how Chris Evans has him portrayed thus far. Unfortunately, I think Chris is ready to move on...but funny how money can change peoples opinions... heh

Personal List I would find

Personal List I would find interesting: (Sorry if some are previously Fox owned... )
Alex Wilder (introduced in a Dr. Strange movie first) - would also introduce The Pride
Hercules (Thor Replacement or comrade)
Northstar (good history with several MCU characters, good powerset, if they dont overdue it a nice character to have for the non hetero crowd)
Namor
Bishop
Hawkeye (current actor)
Nova

Blade, as tied into the MCU
Moebius
Ghost Rider
Then just give me a Midnight Sons movie.

I second Excalibur.

I second Excalibur.
The Chris Claremont version with Captain Britain, Meggan, Kitty Pride (with Lockheed) and Nightcrawler, with and Rachel Summers as the Phoenix. In fact, Rachel inheriting the Phoenix from the late Jean Grey (killed at the end of the third X-men movie) would be a good segway into the existing universe. I think the origins of Meggan would be a nice plot for this, as it would be like an inverse beauty and the beast story with Brian Braddock and would be a good way to introduce the entire ensemble cast as they all assemble to deal with whatever.
I like to take your ideas and supersize them. This isn't criticism, it is flattery. I come with nothing but good will and a spirit of team-building. If you take what I write any other way, that is probably just because I wasn't very clear.

Kitty Pride, also, has been in Fox movies: she was in the first (Sumela Kay in a cameo) and third (Ellen Page in big fight with Juggernaut) X-Men movies.

Well, the first one was mentioned and I believe she got even less screen time. Why I mentioned her :)

The sad part is, Kitty got more screen time than my tied for fave X-Man, Jubilee :(

The other first is Gambit. :)

I completely missed her in

I completely missed her in XM2.

In the first movie, we got to see her walking through the door, it made it easy to spot her. ^_^

It would be nice if IMDB had one character page for all of Kitty's appearances, instead of one for each of two.

I always thought Ellen Page did a good job with the role (when she was allowed a few significant minutes of screen time) but at 31 IRL she's probably a bit too "over the hill" to play her again. As with most of these things I'm sure they'll find someone new to play the role if the character ever appears in another movie.
