The Tomorrow People

I don't care if the English version was awesome.. the American version SUCKS. And this is coming from someone who loves the three T's (Telepathy, Telekinesis, and Teleportation).

Purely opinion based.. if you enjoy the show, i respect your opinion.

it's very "meh"... but I like superheroish stuff too much not to watch. The wife loves the DRAMA of these sorts of shows, and prefers superpowers to the glut of urban fantasy shows.

as for my part... everyone is WAY too old. I like the asian guy, and the main character's younger brother (who get's zero screen time, despite being one of the only believable characters in the show) but everyone else looks like they're 30, and then playing highschool-ish-aged characters. It's all just a bit silly.

Nice to know there's a British version.... I'll have to check it out. As long as it's not like the misfits (I get the concept, but I hate when heroes are dicks.)

The only version of this that I was aware of was done in the 70s (first episodes in black and white due to budget issues!) and first ran on Nickelodeon in the States.

I would like to correct you on one part.

The 1st series (broadcast back in 1973) was actually shown in colour. Any black and white instances were either due to actual *special effect* budget limitations, or just for dramatic effect.

I will admit, that the clips of the 1st one that I have seen, the *exterior* shots do look monochrome/faded, but they are actually colour. Yes, the UK can look that drab.

4) I have seen more intelligence from an NPC AI in TR beta, than from most MMO players.

I was a fan the first

I was a fan the first Tomorrow People series when it was on Nick, so I was looking forward to this new series. And, while this new series didn't thrill me, I realize that I'm not in the show's target demographic. The things about the show that are disappointing to me are probably what the target audience wants to see.

I still check out an episode every now and then to see if Jedikiah turns out to be an evil alien robot, or if the Galactic Federation shows up to appoint the Tomorrow People as Earth's ambassadors to the cosmos.

Actually, with everything that they've changed about the Tomorrow People I kind of wonder why they didn't choose to do a new series from scratch.

great shows transcend their

great shows transcend their target demographic... if you can only appeal to your target audience, you're failing, imo.
