Our characters aren't that young.
God no, get out. Just get out. XD
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
"We're the Legends of today."
"We're the Legends of tomorrow."
"We're Legends in our own minds."
Legends to me, doesn't need to be old people. What if the young hero makes their hero name, Legend? :)
Yeah, I think Young Legends could be really good. It's going to be hard to find a perfect name, but I want something that both fits and gets the point across.
Any superhero in particular you would want on the team the most? Mine is Sparrow, a young man with no powers but lots of training and gadgets. He actually forms the team because he was "fired" by his superhero father Blackbird for arguing with him, and wanted to strike out on his own as someone who is no longer a sidekick.

I think it's important we know who our teammates are. If you don't have a bio thread for them, just give us some details about the character.
Do we have any ground rules for the group? No killers for example.
How true to life can the heroes be? Real teens tend to swear like sailors a lot of the time (at least when their parents aren't around) and other teens get up to some other unsavory things.
Is there a specific age of comic books this group is trying to emulate with it's heroes? Be it costumes or attitude.
Ect, ect.

Not sure of any ground rules yet. I imagine we'll be playing less experienced heroes but they'll likely be more mature than the example of a teen like that. As for the age of comics, probably the modern age really.
Well, my lead character ideas for this group are:
Inevitable: Bully turned Superhero, rather obnoxious unless you share her sense of humor, has unreliable super strength, durability, and healing
Hauntress:keeps to herself, blunt, spooky ghost powers
Feral Girl: generally good natured, can take on the qualities of mammals, tends to act like a house pet when not fighting
Electri-Girl: Teen pop star superhero, can help fund the team, has merchandise deals, shoots neon lightning
Not sure who fits best. Took Skull-Man out of my options as he's a Jason Todd analog and with a Robin analog already there I figured there'd be too much overlap between the two on a new group.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
a character I can offer up since he's going to be my main hero is:
Scarlet Striker: An experienced, but still relatively new hero who's very impulsive and a bit of a wise-cracker when in the face of danger. Has spent around a year at best stopping small crimes in his neighborhood.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
Does Scarlet have any powers or special abilities? :o
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
He certainly does. To keep it very brief and simple, Scarlet has your usual superhuman attributes like strength, durability, agility, speed and reflexes. As well as his signature "energy-enhanced strike" which is where his name actually stems from.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
I guess I'll bring in Hauntress. Dour and has ghost powers. I'm sure her and Scarlet will get along greeeeeat.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
The blunt and spooky meets the impulsive and hopeful personality, oh yeah I'm sure they'll probably be the team's dynamic duo!
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
If his wise-cracks are funny they might actually get along. Might even get a "...Heh." out of her.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
If he gets at least one "Heh" out of Hauntress then I'm sure Scarlet will be keeping a 'Heh' counter/score sheet for the whole duration of the team's run.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
Wonderful! I love it.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
Haha! I can already tell this is going to be great.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
I love this idea. It's so classic.
Just went in and recreated my character Malevolent Twilight in CoH Icon. Here is a screenshot of him!

Sweet Jebidiah, that's a massive sword! But he sure does look cool, especially when rocking a pair of aviators.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
I was using a youthful face with him but as we've discussed in other threads, it is pretty challenging to make a teen character look like a teen.
You think that sword is big, hold up, let me go get a picture of him holding a Titan Sword

"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
I personally like the suggestion of Generation T, as a team name~
I am also down to throw in Nagual’s hat in the ring-character with cat-like (Jaguar actually) abilities, camouflage, and some claws to boot. His greatest enemy right now though happens to be Trig and Physics.

I think Young Paragons might fit pretty well. A nice throwback to Paragon 33 and teams like Young Justice and Young Avengers in DC and Marvel respectively.
There's only one way to settle this, with a voting poll. Seems a few of people are divided between the plethora of different names that were suggested.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
A poll would work but it'd have to be limited to confirmed members. As they're really the only ones who's opinions on the matter... Well, matter.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
True point there. On top of how many people are or already do make up the "core" team. May have to consult with Hybrid when it boils down to whether this whole thread is a "first-come-first-serve"-type of policy.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
It would also depend on if there is a max number of people allowed in a SG, not sure if that has been answered or not anywhere

If it's anything similar to how Champions Online did things (where you needed a full team of five people to make a super group), then I'd imagine you'd probably be limited to 8 people. I do remember reading around here somewhere about team size generally being around 8 people. So far only about four people offered up characters for this group.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
In CoH I think a single person could make a supergroup so CoT will likely be similar in that regard. Or at least I hope so.
No idea of max members, though a good cash shop item or IGC sink could be for super team size increase. So if the group starts at 20 or so max members then you could get an increase by ten or five or something.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
Is it too early to be thinking of base ideas or designs? A dome or bunker could be cool in my opinion, or a abandoned brownstone or something retrofitted in South Titan?
That being said, a poll could work if one wanted to set one up.

Right, that would in fact be a better alternative to having a full team. I spent the better half of my years in CO rather than CoH. Didn't find CoH that appealing for me honestly.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
I wouldn't think so. If a base was to be organized than I'd be all for some abandoned warehouse, that could be refashioned into the "Clubhouse". Always sort of had this idea lingering in the back of my mind for a teenage super team.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
I like calling it the ‘Clubhouse’, or maybe if it’s up top or within elevation, the ‘Treehouse’ could be used. Something non threatening and with a name that doesn’t call too much attention to itself would be the idea I think.
Or...they could live in a giant T on the coast of Massachusetts lol

Or what if it's a mixture of both? The bottom floor is called the 'Clubhouse' and then there's the top floor that's referred to as the 'Treehouse'. Also as enthralling as it would be to live in a giant T-shaped tower, I'm pretty sure we would get some complaints from another similar group of teens lol
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
As long as my character can live there.
Though a SPACE STATION called the tree house, and a bunker/building that's the Clubhouse.
Or maybe they start in one and we can have an event sometime that causes us to lose one and we then move to the other.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
By that point the base would far exceed being called the Tree House, plus someone with the big bucks must be backing or funding their efforts if these kids are able to have a friggin' space station of all things!
Edit: But then again...the Justice League Watchtower far exceeds being a tower and it too is also located in space. Hmm...
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
Maybe the space station is shaped like a tree :p
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
*Gasp* Space station HQ + Tree-shaped structure = Mind Explosion! xox
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
Does any confirmed member of our group have money? Bases cost dough, so it'd be nice to have funding of some kind.
Teen Titans had Aqualad who could pay for things with sunken treasure (True story)
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
MT is just a kid with a part time job, he has some money but it’s just a couple thousand in the bank, no throwing around money

And Hauntress is homeless, so she doesn't have much/any money. Probably not even a proper costume at the start of her career.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
Nagual doesn’t have very much money to his name, what he makes he does via a part time job at Titan Taco, so he’s not exactly wealthy.
Sparrow, the proposed team lead and vigilante character Hybrid has does come from money?
Otherwise they could start small, but through maybe relying on a city grant for the team at first or using a sponsor, or literally saving their own money and buying little by little, they could afford a base and equipment?

Scarlet Striker has a small job in an arts and crafts store...doesn't pay much apart from getting discounts at said store.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
Maybe they use some character's house as a temporary base. Just hanging out in a basement or something.
Or possibly meeting in locations like the newer Ultimates with Miles Morales in it. They used an abandoned church as their base for a time I believe. No super tech or anything.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
Do you think they could manage something if they received an award of sorts from defeating a threat to the city and received a grant or something?

Maybe they save something/someone important to a rich person and that person rewards them.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
A basement hideout could actually work. Plus it can easily be played off as a group of friends from school just hanging out, as long as this character's mom doesn't show up asking does anyone want chocolate chip cookies while they're discussing their superhero activities.
As for the award, I wouldn't see why not actually. Especially since it would help them be established as a new group of heroes and opens the door for potentially getting new recruits.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
"what's with the costumes?"
"... We're cosplayers. Yes. Cosplayers."
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
"I'm not a cosplayer though, I just like how hot I look in tights."
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
As they gain more renown and respect and with it, oppurtunities for money (ingenuity in game I believe) they can go from a basement hideout to a fully functional ‘Clubhouse’ base, hidden to be secure but accesible enough that everyone can get to it in a reasonable amount of time, perhaps in Ironport or Old Bradford somewhere.

"it's a school project."
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
Yesss, I could definitely see this happening for sure. Really hope a team name is chosen soon, cause I'm practically ready to get in-game and roleplay already.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
Once again I say Generation T is perfect, especially since it sounds new and fresh and doesn’t mention their age or tie them to the Paragons, since they’re trying to make a name for themselves as dependable teen heroes.
It also sounds like something someone could sponsor which may come in handy

About the money thing, though Sparrow and his dad don't speak he still remains in contact with his mother who secretly finances his gadgets. Maybe she could "conveniently" lose some money and Sparrow gets it for base-building.
I'd say a base is something a teen group should be working towards real time, not something that's already established, just my thoughts on the matter

Hey guys, I'm going to set up a poll that I'll be posting here for names. Pull in your suggestions that you'd like to see as answers and I'll add them if they're good before sharing here. Right now, all I have for the poll is Young Paragons and Young Legends, so I could use more.
Champions of Tomorrow
And Gladatoria really likes "Generation T"
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
My vote would be going toward Generation T, primarily due to me not being a big fan of naming a teen superteam after an already established team that they would only be very loosely connected to.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
Also I'm going to agree with Kiyori about their thoughts on the base. Probably one of the big concerns I have with teen super-groups is how things like a high-tech base or something similar is already established for a team that's only months old and still technically trying to find their bearings. I really do hope we stick to something small and simple like a basement hideout or a abandoned building/office space/etc. Just to keep the feel of how these kids are going to be working towards whatever goal they seek to achieve in the coming years.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
So we have Young Paragons, Young Legends, Generation T, and Champions of Tomorrow if I counted right?

You don't need to start out with a base/clubhouse. You could start by meeting at the Coffeeshop, or the Library, or the Community Center. Bust up your first villains and move into their Warehouse, then develop from there.
Be Well!
Fireheart
Unfortuneately, their Warehouse is no longer available. It got seized under Asset Forfeiture laws, and this group of cyborgs that had been systematically tortured to try to make them tools instead of federal agents (long story, mostly didn't work) have taken it over until their headquarters gets built.

You know a superhero base that looks like a really big treehouse would be interesting. Haven't seen that done and I know it can be as their is a few hotels that are basically giant treehouses you live in (artificial or real trees included).

I personally thought that ‘Treehouse’ would be a kind of cheeky name for a base that is simply elevated and due to their youth, the media and some critics dub it the ‘Treehouse’, which sticks.
But it could, alternatively if we go that route, eventually have it look like an artificial high tech tree house, maybe made out of new materials, held up on columns like a glass/metal dome or something.
Just a thought

Just as long as we have two vending machines for snacks and sodas, I'm all for it. Oh and a game room.
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
The vending machines is how we'll fund the base!
Though who fills them? Would we have a guy who just comes into the secret base to fill the vending machines?
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
Yes we do! His name is Phil and we can trust him with the location of our secret base because..."He's Phil..."
"If I am to die in battle, Remember me for who I was and not what I've become..."
Broach has no objections to a Treehouse, as long as it's not a Stupid Hero-Eating Tree. Does anyone have a World-Tree in their back yard?
As for vending machines, I recommend everyone bringing their own drinks and munchies and making the team's funds off of the recycling. But that's just me. OTOH, if we have any gadgeteers or other moderately tech-savvy people, they can load and maintain it, get reimbursed for their expenses from the proceeds, and the rest goes to general funds. Maybe we could have both; a fridge for folks that bring their own next to the vending machines and a recycling bin between there and the dining table.

Hauntress will probably just steal other people's food when she eats. Hard to stop someone who can move through solid objects.
Same with vending machines, just reach in and take something if she wants it.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
Such heroic behavior... How do you take things out of the machine, if you're insubstantial? Can you make things that you touch insubstantial too? Can you solidify your hand, but leave your elbow transubstantial?
Be Well!
Fireheart
That was my first thought to that statement :p
Not every hero is heroic all the time. And if someone is homeless and broke, they have to get by.
And I'm not sure how her intangibility functions. She can intangible the things she's wearing so I'd presume it'd stretch to things she touches. Though probably only small things or out to a certain distance from her to start out with. I think as she uses her powers she'll get more adept at selectively going intangible.
"Let the past die. Kill it if you have to."
I have but I haven't watched that show in such a loooong time. I also don't really consider them superheroes, more like agent types.
On a slightly more serious note, regarding secret ID’s and communication, will there be a team film frequency, communication equipment, something like zeta tubes (teleportation devices) for the team way down the line?

I would most certainly hope for some sort of communication system in the future of the team. Especially when they are to take on more members and may even need to keep files and tabs on each one. Things like communication devices are often roleplayed as a member or affiliate of the team developed these things for them.
