Titannetwork & COH (Paragon Chat)

I recently discovered the fact that we can access Paragon City again. I downloaded v24, recreated my main tank and returned to the city. It was great to get back there. However, my question is this; does anyone (devs or those in the know) know the city in which the server for the game is located? I use WTFast playing from the Philippines. Knowing the city will help me choose the best route so I have a stable and solid connection. I'd appreciate any help on this one. Thanks!

That's an interesting question. I would assume it's physically based in the USA somewhere for lack of any better guess. I realize that probably doesn't help you much even if that guess is correct. Maybe they talk about such things somewhere on the Titan Network page (perhaps in their forums somewhere).

Let's us know if you find out - I like to amass semi-useless trivia just like this. ;)

If I remember correctly, the

If I remember correctly, the "server" isn't a game server, but a sort of chat server or IRC (Internet Relay Chat) channel that is being used to mimic some features of a game server.

Lothic's pointer to the Titan Network website is the best option for a definitive answer, but if that doesn't work and you feel ready to do some digging yourself, you can try to find out what IP address the traffic goes to when you're connected.
0. Start the Paragon Chat program and enter the game.
1. If you are using Windows 10, press and open the Task Manager.
2. Locate and open the Resource Monitor (on the performance tab, there's a link near the bottom - if we're using the same version of Windows).
3. Go to the Network Tab in Resource Monitor and expand the information section for "TCP Connections".
4. Look for the "Image" that corresponds to the Paragon Chat program, and make note of each "Remote Address" associated with it.
5. You can try to enter each IP address into a website like http://ip-whois-lookup.com/ to get a rough idea of their location.

Will do, thank you all!

Well at least my SWAG was

Well at least my SWAG was right about it being in the USA. Then again I think something like 3/4 of the websites in the world are physically based in the US so that wasn't much of a longshot.

Thanks to Scott Jackson for the link to the IP address lookup utility. I knew such services existed but I usually just let the Internet itself sort things out where it comes to "shortest path" determinations - according to Internet mythology that's almost literally what it was designed to do in the first place. ;)
