#1: In CoH, I had a ninja character for which it would have been nice to fit flight into the character concept, but there wasn't anything in the game that didn't break it. I would have liked to have available something like the levitation flight disks that Mister Miracle uses. It would not have bothered me to have slower flight speed as a result (flying while standing upright would have some severe aerodynamic limitations :D ) - but it would have been great for the character I was playing.
#2: In CoH, you always flew at one speed. There were times I wished I could have slowed down (I used to canvass Peregrine Island for snipers), and many times I wished I could speed up. Will (or could) the game have a continuous throttle control for flight? For speeds over base, you could have something like this (just a back-of-the-envelope thing):
Let's say for your base flight speed, it costs 10 END/s
For 110% of base speed, it costs 11 END/s
For 120% of base speed, it costs 14 END/s
For 130% of base speed, it costs 19 END/s
In other words, the additional endurance cost would be squared in proportion to the additional speed, which would prevent characters from getting too fast. If that's too much, you could raise to a fractional exponent (like 1.5).
Thoughts?
I would love a faster flight speed especially with an open zone concept. I kinda like how DCUO does flight.

Yeah, +1from me on DCUO flight and superspeed. They should have split up acrobatics and leaping, though. But the basic concept of a movement power overdrive is solid, and they have it right in allowing you to build characters whose focus abilities can come from the movement power. Many, many comic characters have that (any Speedster, most winged ones, some of the teleporters, even Spiderman, if you define his webbing abilities as ways of using his swinging movement power).
For God's sake. decouple flight pitch from view direction! The inability to fly FORWARD while looking DOWN (without diving into the ground) was the most baffling and irritating part of flying in COH!

Although I agree with you, I'm sure many liked that feature. Best bet would be to make it a check box in the options.

Actually you could fly forward while looking down, it was just counter-intuitive. You just positioned yourself so that forward was towards the ground (so you are looking down) and then fly forward by pressing the space key to go up. I did this all the time.
My wishlist for flight:
* Proper banking
* Assorted poses
* Proper 360 degree movement, so we can do loops etc
Flight banking would be very nice to see, as would working jetpacks, jet boots and the such (only active while flight is on but always worn) to help flight fit into themes.
Also some sort of landing animation, like the opening of Iron Man where he lands at he expo would be really nice to see for all travel powers.
Yea I would like to be able to move the camera around and look around while flying rather then fly in the direction I was looking. I did hate that too. I would also like to actually feel a the difference in flying faster. Sometimes I swear I'm not really going all that fast even though I see thing's moving little more.

Yeah, I know that workaround. You could fiddle with that and mostly sorta get it to work...with constant button mashing and adjustments. But it was nothing like the effortless smooth flight over terrain while observing the ground below that's been a staple of flight in comic books (and real life from WWI observation planes through the TR-1 spyplane and modern drones).

I's also like to cast my vote for turn banking.
And, if possible, maybe have the turn axis near the front. It was a small thing, but it always annoyed me that my toon looked he was flying at the end of an invisible stick.
