Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

To purchase your copy of the City of Titans Launcher, visit our store at https://store.missingworldsmedia.com/ A purchase of $50 or more will give you a link to download the Launcher for Windows or Mac based machines.

System requirements

Hello all,
I am currently using an old laptop until C.O.T is released as the old PC has bitten the dust.
Could anyone please suggest what would be a suitable desktop PC in the way of Ram,Graphics card, etc to play the game.
I will still use existing monitor and key board and wolfking warrior gaming keypad.
Thank you in advance for any and all suggestions.

OX,

OX,
This is a question that comes up often. When we upgrade the website and get closer to delivery we will be able to state with far more accuracy what the minimum requirements will be. In the mean time, what we can say is that the game is designed to be played on humble machines. This does not mean that advanced gaming rigs won't provide an impressively stunning experience. They will. But we intend for there do be scalable performance features allowing more modest rigs to play the same game with the same mechanical performance.

To state simply, an average machine should have no difficulty playing the game and looking good while doing so. I personally recommend finding other games on the marketplace today that use UNREAL 4 and trying them out on your rig to see how they play. I also recommend trying other MMO so you can see what the performance is like attempting to download and communicate the multiple other player characters that only MMO can put onscreen simultaneously.

I hope this helps.

Or perhaps consider building a rig if so inclined. After nine years, this year I will finally get to build a new rig based on the "economy gamer" in this article.

I consider myself one of the tech savvy. Borderline PCMR folks. If you have any questions about what to buy or build feel free to send me a message or post here. I get torn from the forums from time to time, but there are plenty of folks here that know enough to help you out, no matter your level of ability.

My current PC is a i56600k with a GTX1070 all watercooled.

If I have a single bit of advice to give. Your primary boot drive is unlikely to change over the life of the build. It's the biggest hassle to change for most users because they don't want to do the recovery or transfer. So spend a bit more and get a nice 500gb or larger SSD from Samsung. I used to be a fan of Intel SSDs, but their new QLC technology is not very good compared to Samsung's V-nand.

I just recently (i'm broke shut up) switched to SSD and I'm honestly not overly impressed: bootup is definitely near-instant, but after that....barely noticeable.

That's the only real advantage (and fewer moving parts means less likely to fail from overuse) but load time in a game with a large number of resources to load every single time you go into a new area is a big deal. Read up on Path of Exile's load time improvements switching to SSD and how the playerbase almost says it's necessary now to use it one.

POE loads super fast

POE loads super fast regardless of the drive type I’m logged in and playing in less that five seconds from clicking the icon. Zone changes are like maybe two seconds.

My OS is in an ssd but almost all my games are entirely on hdd. The better configuration might be multiple ssd’s rather than the hdd setup I made. The larger ssd’s don’t gain much from a time perspective it’s all about the no moving parts at that point. However, OS on one ssd and a secondary ssd with your game loaded on first thing after formatting should have great performance.

In my experience ssd’s beyond about 250G really don’t do much for speed. Most people have much bigger hiccups from network issues both in-house and service providers, but generally the former.

In our house if there is lag on any device it is almost always a network issue and then it’s typically a local area temporary outage if some type...Spectrum...

Performance can take drastic hits from the OS on either drive type of course. Just depends on how you want your system to run and what you do to streamline it for performance.

In reference to how long it

In reference to how long it takes to load games on modern computers you have to accept that it's all relative. If you're old enough to remember playing games that required they be loaded into your computer via "cassette tapes" then you'll have an appreciation that basically any game load time that's now less than say 10 or 15 seconds might as well be instantaneous. ;)

the days of type in the loading code "load A,8,1" hit play, go get a sandwich, and hope you didn't screw something up. yup.

Well, my computer is going to get upgrades next year.
But having a i7-6300 is okay. Paired with the GtX 1070 and 16gb RAM it allows for playing 95% of my games on max settings. (Even while streaming)
Air-cooled though, as the little space in my room won't allow it.

My storage drive is still HDD (I'm broke shut up) so no effect there.

Yeah, I had SSDs on Raid-0

Yeah, I had SSDs on Raid-0 but that got really messy when one started to fail. Now I have OS on SSD and a big HD for storage. Boot and load are plenty fast.

Be Well!

I don't agree with all the statements in this thread. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I highly suggest you look at some technical forums like:

https://www.tomshardware.com/

Perhaps a better single piece of advice. Ask questions, do research.

I got myself a new computer last year to play VR games... I'm somewhat confident it will be able to handle CoT.
