This was posted on the Valiance Online wordpress site and is a video sent to them from City of Titans. Loving the mutual respect between the two teams. Enjoy.

Note: please keep in mind this is work in progress and nowhere near the finished product. I hope we get to see more of these from CoT in the next few months.

There are actually several videos closely related to the one you linked to on YouTube right now.
If these are all indeed very early test vids of CoT I wonder if they were actually meant for "public release" or if they were sent to the VO folks in confidence and they in turn decided to release them. Either way it looks promising.

+1. I second that. :)
According to the uploader - it's not CoT - but something he/she was working on before they joined the CoT team.
Hence why we did not share it beyond a few people, discussing the work AmIEvil has done. I don't mind that VO showed it off - the guy does amazing work and deserves praise for it. Just give credit where credit is due, it is all work he has done, and has been doing for quite awhile.

Thanks for the complete explanation of these videos. I was frankly a little skeptical that they were examples of CoT since it seemed strange that MWM had not apparently taken direct "credit" for them in the first place.
Still as you say they are good work regardless.

Thanks!

If you were doing the animations for that amievil, that was looking decent for entry level stuff. Sound FX needed work, but I presume you were just using placeholders, so definitely not holding anything against you there. The combo punching looked sufficiently natural so as to be promising, even if appearing in such a "rough" state at this stage of development as of that video.

Everything is placeholder for now.

thank you for the clarification. Either way, as long as this is the type of work going into CoT it is a good thing. It was fun and exciting to see these videos, something I want to see directly from the CoT asap. Great stuff, amievil.

Yeah, the stuff in the video looks real good, I'll definitely be watching some more of those videos

As I said on the Devmas thread--official or not, +1 to all here who thought this was promising and exciting.
FIGHT EVIL! (or go cause trouble so the Heroes have something to do.)
Combat mechanics following the spirit of CoH, smooth, nice graphics even though it wasn't intended to be seen. Seems like the start of something legendary to me.
Puny Heroes.
Hey guys I was wondering if you all would like to see more videos. I make a lot of them and I would like some feedback.

We always love your videos Fred!

Well you get to see them lol, but thanks asking the people that don't.

*Ahem* Hell yes.
Just be clear exactly what these videos are to avoid misunderstandings, i.e. demos/prototypes vs actual in-game action. If I recall there was a bit of confusion when some of your videos first "leaked"?
Yes these will all be prototypes. Testing to see what looks good to actually build from or discard.

ad Infinitum.
In that case, I think it would be in everyone's best interest if they were submitted with some commentary. The videos that were posted for VO did not do that game any justice and from reading these forums may have actually turned people off from the game.
If you post videos of rapid prototyping, without mentioning that it is rapid prototyping and without mentioning that some of the things we are seeing have been discarded, then people will take away that what we are looking at will be in the game. Sure this is all something you were probably already planning to do. If so, please kindly disregard this advice.
I think the following video you published is a good way to handle the discards:

And this video you posted was a good way to show some work in progress (it was one of the videos that got me most stoked about playing the game):

[hr]I like to take your ideas and supersize them. This isn't criticism, it is flattery. I come with nothing but good will and a spirit of team-building. If you take what I write any other way, that is probably just because I wasn't very clear.
SHORT ANSWER: YES
I love seeing how the project progresses. Please post often. If publicly available I would recommend making sure the title contains something like "prototype" or "early development" and maybe not even mention COT as there will be some that expect it to be a finished product. I think that's basically what you did with the first video you posted.
"THE TITANS ARE COMING! THE TITANS ARE COMING!"
I think I can speak for most when I say that the answer to "Would you like to see more...." is nearly always "Yes!".
(insert pithy comment here)
What made you think we might not want to see more? :P
As long as it is clear that it is still in development then I say post as much as you can.
I agree with Huck. If yes, then careful careful!
No matter what commentary you provide, some will take it as a an example of what the game will actually be like, or say "that's all you got after x years and x amount of money!?!"
Whether you like it or not, some people will insist on viewing it as an official preview no matter what you tell them. And those, unfortunately, are usually the most vocal people.
To be clear, I don't mean the people on these forums, I mean the general public "out there."
It sucks because I personally would love to see them, but it's proven to be true over and over.
FIGHT EVIL! (or go cause trouble so the Heroes have something to do.)
I'm wondering how this could even be considered a question. The default answer is: "Duh! Yeah!"
If you want feedback though, you're going to have to TELL US what you're wanting us to analyze for you. You have to help us help you, ya'know.

Pardon my ignorance, but I can't seem to find it. I went to the "Welcome to the Kickstarter backer section", but I only see about 6 comments there.
Do you happen to have the exact steps/clicks I should take to get there?

Of course we do, any video. Even if it is merely a guy talking and no action, we crave videos!
