Software development looking for more game dev experience

I'm sure this may be a bit unorthodox but I'm currently a software developer for a large company where I have worked on various desktop and mobile applications. I have spare time where i work on personal projects but one thing I have always wanted to learn about (and help out with) is with game development. I admit I have no industry experience in this area.

Not sure if the CoT team needs someone with my kind of experience (or is willing to take on someone will little game development experience) but I figured I would put it out there and see what bites. Let me know if you have any interesting use for my spare cycles :) .
