Please read the current update for instructions on downloading the latest update. Players with Mac versions of the game will not be affected, but you will have a slightly longer wait for your version of the new maps. Please make a copy of your character folder before running the new update, just to make sure you don't lose any of your custom work.

It looks like we can give everyone a list of minimum specs for running City of Titans. Please keep in mind that this is 'for now' until we are able to add more graphics and other system refinements. Currently you will need :
Windows 10 or later required; no Intel integrated graphics like UHD, must have AMD or NVIDIA card or discrete chipset with 4Gb or more of VRAM
At least 16GB of main DRAM.
These stats may change as we continue to test.

To purchase your copy of the City of Titans Launcher, visit our store at https://store.missingworldsmedia.com/ A purchase of $50 or more will give you a link to download the Launcher for Windows or Mac based machines.

Sentinel+

I imagine that simply loading a character from Sentinel+ is impossible, but would it be at all feasible to use that data in some way to recreate a toon?

I don't have any expertise, so I can't suggest any useful routes. The only thing I could think was some way to designate analogs to the CoX costume items.

Anyway, was just wondering.

I think the Rednames have

I think the Rednames have already mentioned they'll try to do their best to have the Sentinel+ files be of some use to CoT. But to be honest it seems CoT will end up being different enough from CoH that I strongly doubt the Sentinel+ files will be of any use to us.

You have to remember the Sentinel+ files were designed back when there was a chance that CoH would be saved or at least relaunched by another company. But now that CoT is moving beyond CoH as its "spiritual successor" I wouldn't count on being able to make use of your Sentinel+ files in any significant way. If they do happen to be useful in some way then I'd consider that "icing on the cake" instead of something to expect with any certainty.

Yeah, I figured there would

Yeah, I figured there would be little or no real way to use them, but was hoping. That said, I don't really care. Just wanna get my hands on some CoT.

It's unlikely the MWM devs

It's unlikely the MWM devs will do anything with the Sentinel files - not only - as you said - will the characters be sufficiently different - but there are also some legal concerns that they will want to stay far away from.

Best we can hope for is a 3rd party program that will offer build suggestions and point towards similar costume pieces. And if it's going to be that vague I say to heck with it - I'll just re-roll my characters in this new game.

You'd be rerolling anyway, since I doubt that we'd be allowed -- at least on a public server -- to recreate max-level CoH characters as max-level characters; we'll have to start them back at 1 and play them up. What I expect to see, at least initially, is MWM making the character file format open, allowing -- as you describe -- a third-party tool that would read a Sentinel+ file and write an CoT costume file with the closest match in CoT terms to the CoH costume, and a best guess for archetype and powersets, which you could load and then tweak for a better match. Given the additional options that are planned for CoT, you'd want to be doing this anyway -- for example, all of the directed Psychic Blast powers had the power effect coming from the character's forehead, but when recreating my Psy/EM Blaster, I'd like to have Psychic Shockwave (? -- the knockback attack) animate as the character stretching out her hand and the effect coming from her hand. With the options that MWM intends to give us, even if there's a solid one-to-one match from CoH to CoT, we're still going to want to spend time playing with costumes and power customization just to try to get a little closer to what our concept of each character was.

I also think that, down the line, this conversion aid will expand until it does let us do full conversions, so we would be able to either import a saved CoH character as a custom NPC in user-created content, or to load into a private server. There are enough dedicated people working on the various projects that I think someone would see being able to take a saved CoH character as it was and import it into CoT, even if only on a private server or as a custom NPC, is the last full measure of dropping trou and mooning NCSoft. Of course, if the various emulation projects bear fruit, then the basic 'this is the character at start again' conversion would be all you'd need to port your characters into a new world.

I already have a bio for Agent Standin ready to go. Seeing as there will, most likely, not be a Kheldian in CoT, Agent Standin's Warshade component and abilities will have been lost during his transition from Paragon City to Titan City. He is still a Hero at heart and manages to gain new abilities. However, he has to learn how to use them, so he'd start as a level 1 and build them up form there. That will be one of the few cases where I can actually see one of my characters changing out all of his abilities for completely different ones.
