In the "I thought it would be obvious" category, please don't mix soloable and team-required missions in the same arc. At least not without a warning at the start of the arc. I can think of at least 2 MMOs that did this sort of thing. I hated having to abandon an arc or put that character on hold if I couldn't find a team to finish it.

I actually mentioned this in another thread, a while back....
I'd really like to see "team arcs" included in the normal (non-TF/raid) content.
so the game would have "x-men" storylines and "spiderman" storylines.... and then there would be the Justice League/Avengers stuff (TFs and raids and the like)

In other words. Solo missions, signature story arcs, task/strikeforces

I dont know what a "signature" story arch is... but if we mean the same thing... then yes.
but basically, i'm talking about having a mirrored system.
solo missions = team missions
solo arcs and team arcs might be different "stories" but their not "tiered" (i.e. it's not that "team arcs" are "bigger" or "Better" than solo arcs.... they're just recommended for teams, from mission one to mission fin...)

Very good Idea. Something like this would have saved me a lot of grief.
Basically, don't put a mission in a mission chain that requires at least two people to click glowies at the same time, without warning the player that there is that type of mission in the mission chain, correct?
You could even go as far as to say "nor mobs that need to be defeated within X time period" or "Mobs that are above normal difficulty"....
Nor mobs that need to be defeated within X time period, is easily a solo task. Mobs above normal difficulty is a different matter. Do you mean, mobs that just have a good combination of powers or +1 level above? For +1 level above that would be on the difficulty slider. For mobs that have a powerful combination of powers, I think that falls on the player to suck it up :p Soloable doesn't have to mean easy or friendly.
indeed.
But at the same time shouldn't go the opposite route with team content by making it easy and friendly simply because that is the "prefered" method of play or else then it would defeat the purpose.
Agreed. But I like the idea of the warning for people. Could even have at the beginning of the storyline a warning of a AV in it, so we don't do the awful downgrade of signature villains they did in CoH.
I just want there to be content where the first mission in the arc let's you know 'this is going to be solo content' or 'this is going to be team content.'
and I don't want the only team content to be endgame or 'tough' content....

Yep, a warning would be sufficient. Like the AV warning that ended up in most arcs that contained AVs in CoX.

yep.. just have it at the beginning of the arc, and have the whole arc geared towards team involvement (not necessarily "multiple switches".... i always found that gimicky anyway.... but different paths that require tackling (gotta clear out two rooms, but clearing one, and then leaving allows "reinforcements" to take it back.. so you have to hold both positions at the same time, to progress))
